Being here a couple of months practicing regularly, here are some of my comments:

1. After humidifier down for more than two months, recently the heater wasn't working properly either, so for a Sa morning Birkam that is supposed to hit 105, it barely climbs up to 90, which leaves it "warm yoga' best, so stay away if Bikram is your goal, yes, I did check the thermo in the room, and I was actually thinking about bringing my own thermo to the classroom, why? that leads to

2. Almost no one truly cares about the heat issues or does anything effective. I told one teacher before that the heat was not working and some regulars felt the same way (they either didn't say much or stopped practicing), and I was told heat is all mental...which left me speechless. It might be true for new practitioners, but for us who practice regularly and have known this studio way before Yogaworks took offer, we knew what a true Bikram class should feel like. Oh, so why didn't I complain to management? Read on.

3. I did. and multiple times. It is like I am talking but nobody hear a thing. I suggested setting the temp higher than what they usually do, because the heater wasn't working properly (that's how some teachers were able to maintain a hot class despite of heater/humidifier issues) and I was told it needed to be safe, so it shouldn't be set higher... I agree with this only IF THE HEATERS WORK PROPERLY so 105F means 105F. Setting it higher than 105 is the only possibility to bring the room temp remotely close to even 100. See the difficulty in communicating now?

Sadly, all i wanted was a real Bikram class.

Studio temperature is consistent for hot yoga even during winter months. Instructors are great.

Yesterday I attended my second class. I'm really happy with the facility, the instructors and how I feel after the class. I signed up for the unlimited classes with a 3 month commitment.

We attended the hot class at 6:30pm on Tuesday as we are members of the practice in Houston and have attended many hot classes. The instructor was very rude. He told us that we couldn’t drink water when needed because it was a distraction and we didn’t have the flexibility to do variation of poses depending on the level. Given that we are not frequent practitioners, We would have expected that he provided more guidance on beginner/intermediate poses. Also, there was nothing relaxing about this class. I came out with a headache!

Where do I even start this NIGHTMARE OF A STORY:

1) VERY UNSANITARY

You HAVE to bring shower shoes, Lysol spray, AND toilet paper.

2) SHEISTY BUSINESS PRACTICES -

This studio's business model is clear, sell packages, then create every barrier imaginable to ensure customers can't use that package. Sounds likes a winning model to me.

3) OVERBOOKED -

On more than one occasion I have driven all the way from Arlington, only to find out that there isn't enough space in the class I registered for, MORE THAN ONCE!

4) NO PARKING -

I was told before purchasing my package that there was free parking for customers, what I wasn't told is the free parking being mentioned consisted of four free parking spots in front of the studio on the street, and unless you get to one of these four parking spaces at least an hour before the studio opens in the morning, you will not be able to take advantage of these parking spaces for the remainder of the day. I've also noticed that, these four parking spaces have by default become employee parking for the businesses along the strip of stores containing Pure Om, as the only individuals arriving at the aforementioned time are the studio employees. Thus the only option you have for parking near the studio as a customer is the parking garage next to the studio, which is roughly $10 per day. There is other street parking for $2 per 30 minutes on the meter, however the classes are generally 90 minutes So be mindful that there is no parking for customers, contrary to what you are told at that front desk by the smiling and assuring staff. For Pure Om staff to consistently tell every customer that comes into Pure Om that free parking is "available" is at best disingenuous.

5) MEMEMBERSHIP TIME LIMIT -

I purchased my package as a new year's gift to myself to get back college shape, I'm a former college cheerleader, and went every week for the first 2 months of the year. In February I ruptured my achilles and had to recover for 6 months. Be mindful that you only get 12 MONTHS TO USE YOUR PACKAGE (no exceptions permitted). After I healed the studio flat-out refused to extend my package use window by more than an additional 30 days, despite my being injured for 6 months. It took literal crying to even get the 30 days. When I asked through email, phone, and in person several times to speak with the owner, I was ignored.

6) CATTINESS -

The women staff at Pure Om are unbelievably catty. One day I was shampooing my hair in the Pure Om showers and apparently I was the last person in the studio that day. The girl at the front desk kept inquiring of my completion status, like every 10 seconds. Apparently, she thought I was taking too long thus holding her up from closing down the studio to leave for the day, despite the fact that there was a packed house that day and long lines to use the shower. The next time I was there, I forgot my bag and went to my car only to return to a locked door. I could actually see this same front desk girl in the back through the front door window and my yoga bag and stuff clearly leaning on the front desk. I am POSITIVE this was done intentionally. I left the matter at that for fear of getting beat up, seriously. Just one example of many.

7) WATER -

Pure Om permits only their to staff to drink from their water fountain, unlike say every other studio in the area. Bring water from home or prepare to buy Pure OM's high-fructose gatorade for roughly $6.

8) LIES -

Before I signed-up I was told "we have several locations you can use" by the staff at the Bethesda location, after I signed-up I was told "each location is ACTUALLY a separate entity, you CAN'T alternate between studios". Do not listen to the front desk staff promises regarding anything.

9) AMENITIES -

This place is FAR from an upscale studio like say CorePower. The "changing room" is basically a single person bathroom with three confined quarters showers for 50+ student classes. Very unprofessional.

10) SALES AGGRESSIVENESS -

Expect five promotion emails per day from Pure Om.

So far this is my favorite studio in the area. It also happens to employ my favorite instructor I have ever had so far - JONATHAN. Everyone I have had accompany me to the studio has favored this instructor over all others as well. But all of the others with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 are great. If I had to have any cons, I would say that the changing rooms/bathroom could be bigger. AND-- some of the reviews about the people at the front maybe right. I felt like i was mistreated by one of the women, but they usually have pretty good customer service. But i was mortified enough that day by her mistake and her actions that it warranted at least 1/2 star off. She really ruined my zen after class with HER mistake. But as stated by many, that Lavender frozen towel at the end is THE BEST motivation to keep in mind when you want to leave the room. (Which I seem to be contemplating more than I wish ;)) Except when Jonathan is the host of the class, sooo weird. That's the only time where I can focus and am SOLEY listening to his soothing very clear instructions. His voice actually seems to coincide with your body's needed movement and intensity. I like that they have hardwood floors instead of carpet which I find makes my practice more difficult personally. I also love the tips that this studio (mainly jon) gives that has significantly helped me with my practice.
