I really enjoy this yoga studio! I mostly take the Burn class, which is always challenging and super satisfying, I love how hot it gets in the room. The instructors are consistently great, knowledgeable, motivating, and supportive. Every now and then, I’ll take a Restorative class, which is also amazing when I need something more relaxing.

The facilities are always clean and well maintained, which I really appreciate.

The only downside is the parking, which can be a bit of a headache. It’s best to get there early since the doors lock once class starts, but finding a spot can be tough.

Overall, though, it’s a fantastic studio that delivers an awesome workout and a great atmosphere!

I’ve gone to several classes at Pure Fire and have enjoyed them all. Christina and Nicole are amazing teachers and the studio is kept clean. The classes are challenging, which I prefer, but there is opportunity for modification.

I went last weekend with a friend and my only complaint is that it’s not closer to my house so I could go everyday! The studio is very clean, welcoming and check-in is a breeze. I’ve taken the ‘Burn’ class which you will sweat a lot and today I took their ‘Hot Pilates’ class and my body feels amazing! Recently, I’ve been suffering from knee pain so it’s been great to find something that after the class I feel like I have my 20 year old knee again. Can’t wait to return! I also am very sensitive to smell and something that has stopped me from returning to other hot yoga practices is the lingering sweat smell that studios might have, this one DOESN’T and it’s great!

I enjoy practicing at Pure Fire Yoga and had a wonderful experience at a recent retreat in San Pancho, Mexico. Many thanks to Michael, Christina, Lisa, and all of the Pure Fire family who made our FLOW so special: a week of reflecting, connecting, and recharging with a supportive community of yogis in a tranquil setting. It was clear how special this place is to Michael and the team and how much love and energy they put into creating this journey for us.

I felt completely safe, at ease, and connected to the culture and pace of San Pancho life as I enjoyed our beautiful accommodations, daily yoga practice to the hum of ocean waves, beach walks, family-style meals, and opportunities to explore the town and nature. We had a wide variety of activities available to us that incorporated local practitioners and guides, including daily yoga, group reflection, kirtan, harmonizing and aromatherapy rituals, sound bath, cold plunge, hiking, boating, snorkeling, surfing, polo match, and a local beach club.

Our group was so supportive, authentic, and full of fun and adventure. Thank you for an incredible week!

Incredible Yoga Retreat in San Pancho, MX...10 out of 10!!!

Posting this review to highlight what was an incredible experience in San Pancho, Mexico with PureFire Yoga. At the studio I have historically attended only their Burn class, which is focused on full-body sculpting and cardio, and as a non-yogi I have zero background in what to expect in a formal yoga class let alone a week long yoga-centric retreat. Both my wife and I decided to try it out both as a shared learning experience and a beach destination vacation.

The tiny beach hamlet of San Pancho on the Pacific coast of Mexico has pristine beaches surrounded by dense jungle covered mountains creating an environment rooted in nature. The town itself is has a quiet sophistication that has hidden gems around every corner including local artisan ceramic, jewelry, and clothing shops. Complementing the shopping is a variety of restaurants ranging from local-flavored taco stands to sophisticated world class cuisine. The bar scene is also lively with cervecerias, craft cocktail night spots, and beach front bars perfect for taking in an unobstructed sunset. Many of the establishments also feature live music, which inevitably leads to impromptu dancing in the streets after hours. All of the townspeople are welcoming and English is very much a second language making navigating the town a cinch.

For our accommodations, Casa Raul was our home base. A private multi-bedroom house complete with individual casitas for guests, it is built into a hillside featuring both views of the ocean and surrounding jungle covered mountains. An amazing spot to have breakfast, listen to the exotic birds, watch the waves roll in, and reflect. A stone throw from a dedicated beach, the venue includes multiple pools to enjoy and a folksy, welcoming ambiance complete with private open air showers and natural thatched roofs. The food was top notch with local chefs providing an eclectic array of breakfasts and lunches at the house, as well as dinners out on the town at featured restaurants. It was an unexpected gastronomic experience that was nourishing, delicious, and locally centered.

All of the programming felt balanced. Practice sessions featured power focused yoga classes, as well as restorative sessions everyday. An intentional part of the program was introspection, meditation, and interaction with other retreat participants as we built our retreat community. Beyond classes, multiple ritual ceremonies were conducted including sound baths, keratan, breath control with a cold plunge, an aromatic surrender session, etc. In many cases, the rituals were offered by high-quality local providers from the community providing more opportunities to learn about the town and region. At no point was there any pressure to participate giving attendees the space and grace to process and tailor the experience to their individual goals. Last but not least there were optional excursions like surfing, a day at the beach club, dinner and a polo match, and more. All of the programming I would recommend and personally enjoyed. Each piece was thoughtfully researched/curated and was something special. Plus, who wouldn’t love getting to pet very sweet professional polo ponies!

All in all, as a non-yogi with no prior retreat experience and zero knowledge of the venue/town, I can say the experience was a 10/10. Did I participate in every offering? Nope, but that never felt like the point unless you wanted too. From a die hard yoga practitioner to a newbie like me there was something for everyone. Even as my first experience, there were moments of personal insight and growth, beach vacationing with my wife, and building community with the other retreat participants. My wife and I will be returning back soonest!!

I have been coming to the Bethesda location about a year and made use of the ten packs but am going to commit to the monthly membership now that I have made it a point to come at least twice a week!

No previous experience or joy being a part of a health community and zero experience in yoga prior to this other than home based restorative stretching at bedtimes.

A friend of mine invited me to one of their community classes and I thought I was doing hot yoga but really it was Nicole’s custom designed “burn” class ! Which is my new favorite addiction. Now me and my husband go every Friday morning to jumpstart our intentions for the weekend. It’s like a sober rave that exhausts and delights my brain and body, forcing me to focus only on my self for forty five minutes.

Since then we have fallen in love with the people and the place.

I can’t say enough great things about this hot yoga studio—and especially about Marcus. From the moment you walk in, there's a sense of warmth and intention, but it was Marcus who truly showed me how transformative hot yoga can be.
His approach is grounded, motivating, and deeply connected. He doesn’t just lead a class—he guides you through an experience that challenges your body while bringing clarity to your mind. Marcus has a way of making you feel seen, even in a room full of people, and his passion for the practice is contagious.
What started as a fitness goal turned into something so much more—strength, stillness, and personal growth. If you're curious about how hot yoga can change your life, take a class with Marcus. You’ll leave feeling stronger, clearer, and more inspired than when you walked in.

I love Christina and Nicole's Classes. They always have something different and clearly spend a lot of time planning each class. Burn is definitely a must, you will feel......"the burn" immediately and be hooked! I also enjoy Marcus's classes as well.

Location is right in the heart of Bethesda where street parking is usually ample.

My only complaint is the cancellation policy. I purchased a 10 class package and had to cancel class last week as my schedule changed and one of my sessions was taken from my package. If classes were full with a waitlist I can understand the need to charge for a last minute cancellation. The classes are not full, nor have I ever seen a waitlist for any class. Otherwise this studio is a gem!

I used ClassPass and I took the class by Lisa on a Saturday at 3 PM and it. The class was amazing at the end of the class. They gave us a cold, wet washcloth. The studio was pristine for cleanliness and the smell was fragrant with some of that sacred wood, I can't remember the name of that wood and I parked on the street and I used park by mobile. The class was very hot and the instructions were well planned and thorough. I understood everything as a student I would definitely go back.

Attended classes by Shivani, Christina, Jenny and Marcus. Decided to get off classpass and purchase membership. Phenomenal instructors, nice community feel, beats commercialized/more-cardio-than-yoga-with-loud-music types of studio 100X over. Strongly recommend if you are looking for a hot yoga space, and speaking from experience in DMV hunting true hot yoga communities.

As a complete newcomer to yoga, I stepped into the studio with nerves and uncertainty, but those quickly resolved. What struck me immediately was the diverse mix of individuals, representing all shapes, sizes, and skill levels. It's a place where everyone feels welcome, from the beginner like me to the seemingly most advanced people I could imagine.

The teachers here are exceptional, kind and accommodating. They offer alternatives tailored to beginners like myself, ensuring everyone feels included and supported throughout the practice.

Whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned practitioner, Purefire Yoga is a place where you can feed your mind and body. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Been with this studio for a long while now and I love it. It is clean, very friendly, and great instructors. It is so out of my way to go (30 minutes drive one way) but it's worth it for me. Why change something that is great for me. I definitely recommend it to others. I brought in a few friends and they also love it. Simply the perfect yoga studio. The classes (mostly yoga but with a few others) are somehow both welcoming and challenging for all levels. Every single instructor is excellent—I particularly appreciate that instructors walk around during the class offering targeted cues, support, and corrections to help yogis improve breathing and form and prevent injury. The high quality of the classes alone makes it awesome, but in addition to that, the studio is beautiful and clean with great amenities (showers!), and there is a tight-knit, warm community of regulars. Plus, there are always fun and interesting pop-ups and workshops that reinforce the sense of community. This place is the best!

I love PureFire Yoga so much. It has basically ruined other yoga studios for me because it is that fantastic. PureFire has a real community - the teachers are all great (special shout out to Jenny) and give off really nice genuine vibes. The studio has created a wonderful community of friendly people - I feel like I meet someone new most times I go. The studio space is not only incredibly clean (this is huge for me), it is really beautiful. The studio floor is soft and the windows let in really nice light. It's a tranquil place and you can really relax.

Last weekend I took both Chase and Marcus’ Power 50 classes and was thrilled with the experience. The studio is clean and beautiful and the instructors were welcoming and talented. The classes were challenging but accessible for all levels and the heat really enhances your practice. What struck me the most about PureFire is how friendly everyone is – from the students to the owners, there is a real sense of kinship and investment in one another. This studio has a strong sense of community that makes the classes a truly unique and fulfilling experience. The yoga and pilates instructors here are phenomenal. But I would like to give a specific shout out to both Chase and Kristina for simply embodying what a yoga teacher should. They are very different from one another in their styles, but each so authentic and skilled, and you leave their classes feeling like you had a complete yoga experience, since each addresses the body, mind and spirit, something so woefully lacking in so many teachers/studios. I simply adore them!!!!!

This is the MOST wonderful, community based, warm, inviting studio I have ever gone to! I recently moved to Bethesda and wondered if I would ever find a studio that matched the one I frequented in Raleigh. Well, this is far better in all ways! It has provided me with a feeling of community already and the classes and teachers are amazing!!! I wanted hot flow, but I was also looking for more variety. PureFire has an awesome palates class, hybrid classes, and restorative/yin classes…… and this variety is really important to me to have a full experience! This studio, to propagate a feeling of community, also has talks, a book club, and more! Additionally, one of the owners, Mike, who I have had the pleasure of talking with numerous times as he frequents classes, is such an authentic and lovely human! I recommend PureFire, without reservation, and with my whole heart! You will absolutely not be disappointed!

For a bunch of different reasons it’s been about 8 months since I’ve been on my mat last, and I didn’t realize what I was missing until I stepped foot into PureFire Yoga this past week. Immediately, I felt welcomed and encouraged in showing up, in my practice, and from the amazing team of teachers. 4 classes later, I’ve already signed up for classes through the end of the month, and plan to make this my new yoga home. The feeling of community and belonging that you experience, the way that you are challenged to push yourself to “your edge” and the way that the teachers guide you to make the most of being present in the moment is a feeling that will change your whole prospective. *Highly recommend booking in advance as the class was almost completely full.

Teacher stepped on and broke my partners glasses, no effort to replace or make amends beyond “oh I’m sorry.” Clearly they do not practice what they preach.

Loved this space and Marcus' class so much! When you first walk in, the studio smells incredible, which I learned is because of their amazing signature scent. The folks at the front desk were super friendly and gave me a tour of the space, and I felt right at home! I was so glad to learn there are showers too for before work, and it was such a clean space.

Marcus was an amazing instructor and the sense of community is so obvious. My favorite part of it all was the cold towels they give each person at the end of class. Really tied the whole experience all together! From customer service to class, I will definitely be back!

Beautiful, welcoming yoga studio! I haven’t done hot yoga in some time but Marcus made me feel right at home. I took his class and loved being able to focus on the movements and work on my own level. The studio is gorgeous and has wonderful padded floors, showers and lockers, a retail area, and best of all refreshing cold towels after class. Will definitely go back.

Bikram is back in bethesda!! Just did an awesome class guided by David Saturday at midday. I’ve been needing this the last 2 years badly but have had to settle with in home yoga. David is supportive and an excellent practitioner who with just the right amount of demonstration and direction really pushed me in a way I needed. Drop in and check this healing class out. I use to have trouble with my knees and back in my 40’s and with Bikram, the pains have all but disappeared. Thank you Marcus and Michael for making this studio happen. Bob

Beautiful and welcoming space. The studio offers a nice variety of classes and teachers with Baptiste yoga being the foundation but not the only option. The room is warm without being suffocating.( Be prepared to sweat!) Most classes offer a thoughtful musical selection that complement the experience without overpowering it.. Marcus and his crew provide a challenging and empowering experience in a wonderfully warm and welcoming community. I highly recommend this studio! .

Very grateful to return to practicing yoga in this particular studio. It is filled with positive energy and talented teachers. I especially like that the classes are heated, but within that, there’s a mix of power, 26/2 (Bikram), and hybrid styles on the schedule. Many ways to challenge yourself in a welcoming space.

Marcus and the Pure Fire team have created a one of a kind community and collective. My practice is improving in every way, and I look forward to the ritual.

I was new to power yoga 2 years ago when a fit friend recommended it. I love their hot classes and that they offer multiple lengths. A Pure Fire membership is an investment in yourself and in the community - owner/operator Marcus Lee is from MD and does a ton to support local kids and community groups.

See you in the flow!

I’m moving out of Bethesda soon, and PureFire is one of the things I’m going to miss most! I go about once per week, more when I can, using classpass. I have seen such improvements over the couple of years I’ve been coming! Each teacher is unique, and I learn something new about yoga each time I come. The new studio is GORGEOUS and hot. The class is great. Can I please make a suggestion? It is way too hot. They cranked up the heat on purpose. This is not hot yoga. I was already sweating uncontrollably even before I started the class. I ended up almost passing out from the heat and couldn’t do anything. It is not safe. I had been to hot yoga. This was hotter than that. They are also wasting energy. The turned up heat so much and they turned on the AC right after the class. What a waste.

I purchased a new student pass and ended up having to cancel the first class that I signed up for because my daughter was sick. I never received a response to my cancellation email and they deducted the class that I could not go to from my three class balance. I also reached out via Instagram and never received a response. I was excited to support this business, but the lack of response is absolutely inexcusable and I feel ripped off and will never attend this establishment.

I'm impressed with this small, friendly community studio. I am a hot yoga fan and find the instructors and the front desk staff welcoming at Pure Fire. The decor is nice and it's well-maintained. I like the small nature of the place. The instructors are trained in the Baron Baptiste method and you'll get your butt kicked in a good way at this studio. The pace is rapid and you'll be challenged. At the same time, the instructors are not "mean" about their pace and understand when you need a break. I recommend Pure Fire and look forward to frequenting the studio more in the future.

Stephanie’s class was a delightful combo of playful and challenging. She has a way of helping you go beyond your perceived limits while having a ton of fun in the process. I loved her bubbly energy! I have been going to a class a week for the past 3 months and it has changed my entire workout life. As a beginner yoga student I was worried about 'being left behind'. The instruction and encouragement are fantastic and at no point have I felt lost. The facilities are great and lovingly cared for. The best part is the people. Instructors are out of this world who care about my workout and experience. And the attitude of classes and other students makes me feel like I am hanging out with friends, while getting crushed by a great yoga workout!
