Located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, Queenstown Harbor is one of the most scenic and challenging golf experiences. The facility features 36 holes of championship golf on two unique layouts:
The River Course features a natural, windswept design on the banks of the Chester River that optimizes shot values and ensures superior conditioning.
The Lakes Course will challenge even the best golfer. With numerous sand traps, tight, tree-lined holes, and a spectacular finishing hole, every aspect of your game will be tested.

River course is 5 star worthy. Lakes course is a 2 star. Not worth the money. Also, the loud incessant country music playing outside when you finished 9 or 18 was both distracting and painful on the ears.

Let me preface this by saying the views from the Queenstown Harbour Golf Course are absolutely stunning. But unfortunately, the golf itself was about as enjoyable as hitting a cart path. Seriously, this course needs to iron out some serious kinks.
We booked a tee time for 12 pm on a Sunday, snagged a deal (thankfully!), because at $150 a pop, you expect a course that doesn't feel like it's βdrivingβ you mad with frustration. The starter told us things were moving fast, but honestly, the only thing moving fast was the ball rolling off the ridiculously slick greens! The front nine was a 2 hours and 15 minutes. The back 9 took us 3 hours! We still finished a whopping 37 minutes behind schedule with no thanks to the course ranger who was apparently MIA. Seriously, where was the marshal?
To make matters worse, the cart girl was a ghost. Saw her twice in 18 holes, and then she clocked out at 4 pm with two more hours of daylight left! Don't even get me started on the food shack. Hot dogs and burgers only, which is a real bummer when you have alpha-gal and can't eat beef. And it closed at 3 pm! The hot dog, chips and cookie was $8!
So here's my advice: eat a HUGE breakfast, pack enough snacks to survive a zombie apocalypse, and stock up on drinks from the cart lady whenever you see her because you probably won't see her again. Honestly, I was hoping for a relaxing round of golf, but I left feeling like I'd been through a βroughβ patch. This course has serious potential, but right now, it's just not worth the βgreenβ. Maybe with some serious improvements, I'd consider coming back, but until then, I'll be looking for a course that doesn't leave me feeling so βbogeyβ.
If you look at the other reviews you can see this has been a problem in the past and said they were working on it. If this was the case this would not have happened. Itβs easy to calla mulligan on the golf course, but to say youβre still working on it would be way over par!

Been playing here since I was a kid. The course is always very well kept. Over the past year or two they have given up on pace of play. They do not separate t-times properly and an average round here even on a weekday is 5+ hours. Sad to see.

Pace of play is miserable. Expect to wait on every t box and make sure you plan for a 5+ hour round. Spend your $100 somewhere else.

Event concierge Ron Rutter was a true professional helping organize my group outing for the second year in a row. We presented a unique challenge as nearly our entire group was coming by boat yet we were tying up 7 boats and dropping off 45 golf bags ahead of time via trailer. Ron ensured all bags were loaded onto carts and that people were efficiently shuttled to and from the dock. Ron met me on the 7th fairway to check in on how things were going and responded to an impromptu request for long drive and closest to the pin challenges. Before we finished the next hole he had them set up on the back nine. Thank you Ron for the many hours you put into this for us as we greatly expanded our outing this year! We cannot wait to do it again next year!

Had a great outing at Queenstown Harbor a few weeks ago. Hadn't been there in 20+ years but it was as nice as I remembered it being years ago. Course was in great shape, particularly since it's been so dry lately, friendly staff, great experience. Will definitely be back at some point in the future.

Ron and his team were absolutely spectacular. The course was in phenomenal condition, and the attention to detail and hospitality was unmatched. I had a group of 20 golfers (from Chicago, Cincinnati, Buffalo, and even Switzerland) who couldn't say enough good things. I will always recommend Queenstown Harbor to anyone looking for an amazing golf experience in Marylandβnobody does it better. A huge shoutout to Ron and his team! I'm looking forward to more trips there in the future.

Played the river course. Challenging! The renovated bunkers are large, filled with beautiful white sand! Don't get caught in one with your ball in the front. You might have to hit out away from the pin! Excellent course, beautiful views of the bay. Check out the bungalows on the 3rd hole facing the water. A great option for a large group of golf junkies! The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. Its worth the trip over the bay Bridge to play this course. A true gem on the lower pennisula!!

Our nonprofit's experience at Queenstown Harbor Golf was excellent and my colleagues could not have had a better time. Months ago we reached out to Queenstown's Ron Rutter to describe our goals and he could not have been more accommodating. We had close to a dozen staffers who wanted to take golf lessons because they'd never played golf before and roughly seven staffers who wanted to play nine-holes. Co-workers who took lessons from JR had a blast and learned a lot in a short time. And for those of us who played nine holes, the course was amazing and in great shape. We highly recommend Queenstown, a great course with a staff second to none.

We have been enjoying Queenstown Harbor Golf for over a decade and decided to hold our first weekend 12 person event there. Unfortunately we were not able to do the Stay and Play (it was booked), but Ron, Mike and the rest of the service team were impeccable. From the second we arrived everything was more than taken care of - top to bottom - from golf, to food / beverages, etc. etc. We never had to even ask for a single thing. So huge thank you again to Queenstown Harbor Golf. That's for the awesome weekend.
ps. We did not even say how nice the course was as well. Saw other reviews on this and not which golf course they were playing. Both River and Lakes were impeccable.

I set up a mini Ryder Cup Event this past Father's Day Weekend with a group of 22 players. We played the River Course, and it was a beautiful track with a fun layout, beautiful water views, and it was in excellent condition. Fairways were plush and greens rolled true.
Ron Rutter - their group coordinator was a breeze to work with. From cart signs with our names, to CTP and LD prize markers, he ensured that our group had everything we needed to have a great day. Highly recommend checking out Queenstown if you are looking for some of the best public golf in MD!

The course was great last year, however, things are drastically different this year. Tons of burnt fairways, greens punched during mid summer, and lack of grass all around the greens due to sod being placed. Not sure why the prices are at a premium when the course isnβt in good conditions.

The River Course is in terrible condition and overpriced.
All of the fairways are brown and in disrepair. It cost us $100 each for the round and we would never have played here had we known the conditions!

The surrounding area is pretty.

Not worth the drive! Staff was pleasant. That was the only good thing about this course. Fairways are totally dead and brown. No grass whatsoever making it difficult to even see where you are supposed to hit. Greens were ok, recently aerated but recovering well. This was the worst condition I have ever seen a golf course. I play in Colorado all winter and it's 10x better shape than this. Not worth $50 let alone what they charge.

Queenstown Harbor Golf is a great experience and perfect for a weekend golf trip with friends. The courses are fun and well-maintained. Queenstown Harbor is home to two courses... the River Course and the Lakes.
The River is the more scenic and more challenging. I played both courses one day and returned to play the river course a few weeks later. I walked away both times with a great appreciation for how these courses are weaved into the natural landscape with care and beauty. Ospreys, eagles, deer and turkey may join you on your round!.
Conditions were perfect from T boxes to Fairways to Greens. Water comes into play on 3-5 holes but you "see" the water (Bay) from about 6 holes and the views are enchanting and mesmerizing. Dog legs, water, sand and natural grasses come into play on many holes making this both challenging and rewarding to play.
Fortunately, on Mondays and Wednesdays, the course offers a generous discount to military and first responders.. .on the weekends, as expected, the prices climb. Frankly, it was underpriced for the value/view/challenge on Mondays and Wednesdays.
I drive about 80 minutes to this course but it is WORTH the drive. Stay and enjoy the patio for a beverage and lunch/dinner. They also have a shower in the locker room in case that will help your drive home be more comfortable. Every staff member was personal, welcoming, smiling and professional. *80 minutes drive is a small price to pay for the gift it is to play Queenstown Harobor.
Play this place, the river course if you can and both if possible.

We played the River on Saturday July 8 2023 and the course looks outstanding the whole way through. Most importantly though, I wanted to comment on one of your hard working employees. I'm not sure of his name but I've spoken to him before on the practice putting greens. I watched him use a device which I found out checks the moisture of the greens. I asked about the device and he was more than willing to talk about what it does and how he applies the results for the proper watering of the greens. He's a tall gentleman, brownish hair, thin body type. A hard worker for sure and he clearly takes pride in his work. I watched him water down the practice putting greens in the morning, and then, all throughout the round, there he is, staying behind the scenes but getting the work done. Such a valued employee you have. Just a wonderful experience playing golf here knowing the behind the scenes work that is done. Hats off to the young man!

Thanks again for making a great event for a good cause .

Played the River Course at Queenstown Harbor. The golf course is in excellent condition. Greens are firm and fast, and the fairways are nice and firm. Good lies everywhere. It is a shot maker's course and a treat to play. Worth thr trip across the Bay Bridge to play it.

Stayed in the Emory and Pearl bungalow for a wedding. The bungalows were not handicap accessible. No handrails for stair walking support. Rooms were not refreshed between patron stays. Very disappointing for the cost. kks

Everything about this course was lovely except one thing they could have improved. Tee boxes were well kept, fairways were great looking like carpet, rough was thick at time almost covering your ball and more importantly greens were in great shape allowing you to shink putts for lower scores. Scenery was at times very nice. Cart lady came around frequently and was very friendly with the biggest colgate smile on her. The course plays at the right speed. Our group never had to wait other than one hole. The only improvement needed was more sand in some of the bunkers. The ones with less sand made things a little difficult for an up and down.

This course is in tip top shape but we have had a rough spring in the area. Still recommend playing here. I sure the conditions will improve.

Had a beautiful day playing the River course. Fairways and greens were in great shape tee boxes just starting to grow in. Played in 4.5 hrs could've been at least 45 mins faster if the foursome in front of us played ready golf. They had the whole course backed up. No rangers anywhere. The bag guys need a refresher in how to greet and give instructions about the course. My 4 stars is for the course itself.

Do not play here on a late Sunday morning. Group in front of us that are the slowest people I have ever played behind and not a Marshall in sight. Going to take longer than 5/12 hours to play 18. Thoroughly disappointing round. Will not be back.

One of the finest tracts on the Shore, and in my not so humble opinion, one of the best in this part of the Country. Its an educated opinion having played all over the world. Love the River Course!

Played the River course here on Sunday 8/15/21. Course is in great condition!! Staff is really friendly. My only complaint was that it turned into a 5 hour and 10 minute round. There were no marshals moving slow groups along unfortunately.

Had a great time here today. We played the Lakes course and although it was busy, the pace was good. The beverage cart girls came around frequently too. We also saw a lot of wildlife on the course. Too bad I wasnβt able to get pictures of the bald eagles!

For those unfamiliar, Queenstown has two courses: Rivers and Lakes. Rivers is the pricier, tougher, more scenic course, and Lakes is no slouch. Itβs worth playing both if you have the chance because they present different challenges at a competitive price. The pro shop is stocked, but could use more QH branded gear. Updated carts with a menu and beverage option are great! Hard to find disappointment in 18 holes here.

I have been playing at Queenstown for over 20 years. I dont think there is a better kept course in the area. They are constantly making improvements to the course and grounds.

Truly an outstanding course, coming from South Jersey it was well worth the trip. The course was pristine and the friendliness was free all wrapped around a beautiful setting . When your not looking at the well manicured course the calm nature of the deer will shock an amaze you . For my liking I ran out of stars so I'll add 5 diamonds
