Some pieces of equipment have been broken for months...staff is lazy...bathrooms stink...removed theater to put in bikes that no one uses...side gym is restricted for classes...was a nice gym but now I'm looking elsewhere

This place is going down hill big time! Are you guys going out of business? Its completely obvious the owners do not care, they have maybe 3 or 4 water bottles stocked in the fridge. I haven’t been able to have a smoothie for the past 6 months. If you’re no longer able to make smoothies, take the signs down. The only reason I haven’t canceled my membership is because Kayla and the rest of the staff are extremely friendly and always professional.

I’m at this gym three times a week, on average. This place has the necessary equipment to get the job done but in the last year or so, it has gone down hill. It is not well managed or maintained. The equipment is poorly maintained, there are loose bolts all over (even pointed out to staff with no effect), squat rack missing pieces, and staff are missing from the front desk regularly...etc. I wouldn’t put my kids in the day care again. It’s gross. It was much nicer when I originally joined in 2017. If there was another game in town, I’d go there.

Gets it done for powerlifting, friendly staff, needs more space. Partly it's just hectic to look at, but the machines are jammed so close. Treadmills are literally touching shoulder to shoulder, and I had to carefully maneuver sideways to avoid uncomfortable intimacy with a Smith machine while adding weights to the bar on the squat rack. And they might benefit from a couple of weight trees to centralize where to look for for various plates rather than scavenging all the time... but where would you put them? Loved the deadlift platforms, wish my local gym had some. Overall a good experience, I'll definitely go back next time I'm in town and just try to keep my claustrophobia at bay.

Kayla runs the place as acting manager better than the actual owners do. Always looking out. Love this gym and *most* the people attending

Friendly staff, fair monthly prices, all the equipment I needed. If I didn't move I would have continued to be a member.

Overall a decent gym. It has good equipment, friendly staff, and variety of work out options.

With that being said, the locker room is gross and canceling my membership has been a nightmare.

I attempted to cancel my membership before, and after my 1 year contract ended. Although I received multiple signed contracts that my membership was terminated, they continued to charge me for months.

Once my membership was finally canceled, I attempted to get a refund for the extra months they charged me for. I have left multiple messages for management and gone to the gym countless times, but these efforts were futile. I am still waiting to hear how this will be remedied.

A simple contract termination is now a 7 month ordeal, and shows no sign of improving.

From my experiences, if you like being charged after multiple attempts to cancel your membership, this gym is for you!

Nice environment, very reasonable prices, easy to use equipment. I enjoy watching some television while using some equipment, becomes choppy over time. Other than that, great place.

Place has issues with overall maintenance and broken equipment. Management seems to be recognizing and working to resolve. Men's locker room smells worse than a NYC subway station. Parking has gotten easier since Auto auction moved.

People complain about dropping weights and moaning way too much especially for people deadlifting... I’m pretty sure the gym is called retro fitness not planet fitness.

Good value for the price but the locker room is gross and needs some attention. Just a person cleaning and higher standards of what "clean" is would make a difference. Doesn't look like management cares about the locker rooms. Workout facilities are good though for the price.

Good gym overall, very good vibe. If youre around aberdeen you dont have many good gym options for serious bodybuilders/powerlifters. I drive over 20 mins to come here. Only 20/month plus a $50 yearly fee. Still I give this place a 3 for a few different reasons
1. The dumbbell section is tiny and gets unbelievably crowded
2. There is only one real squat rack!!! The others either have no pins or are smith machines. Also only 2 deadlift stations
3. The benches are absolutely terrible. Theyre rockhard, low to the ground, and slippery. Instead I use theyre only 2 normal benches, which have no rack, sacrificing my ability to bench press cuz it just doesnt seem worth it
4. Finally, they waste so much space on unused cardio equipment, certain useless machines, and spin classes. The space should be used for more cable setups and a few more benches imo
5. And a small complaint- barely any resistance bands to work with, yet they seem stacked on every other piece of gym gear

The only positive I had was the time the gym was open due to my schedule. The tanning bed was awful and was never clean. I tried to cancel my membership since I started another gym and here we are a year later and I am still having issues with getting constant phone calls about my membership terms. I haven't been in so long yet it took me canceling through my bank to get the changes to stop and just now does it bother them.

Was great when I started. Now the bulbs in the tanning bed are never changed and just worthless. Its always so busy that its just uncomfortable and you can never use the equipment you want to without waiting forever, and they close off half the place at peak times for classes, so the main gym area becomes even more crowded. The back area where females feel more comfortable is roped off for classes at peak times and many people are just over it at this point. Ill be canceling my membership to venture elsewhere very soon

Great place to work out. There is a ton of equipment, great layout of the gym, those smoothies they make are delicious and it is always clean and the staff are very friendly. If you are looking for an awesome gym to work out at in Bel Air, I strongly recommend here.

Too frequently doesn't open on time. Equipment doesn't get repaired for weeks, sometimes months. But since it's only $20/month nothing will get better since people will continue going at that price.

Very crowded. This is a volume gym filled with younger people. If you can't go during non-peak hours I don't recommend it here.

Was a good until people found out that it's 20$ a month. The planet fitness crowd made their way over and made it crowded. It is now filled with "bro's." Now they moved the two Olympic platforms into a crowded room with no mirrors for form just so that they can use the other space for some stupid class. The only times you can manage to get an open spot are after 9pm or before 3pm. Don't even bother unless using cardio equipment any other time.

Been going here for about a year now. It's a great gym and has everything you could need especially for the price. They do need to add some more squat racks since they only have 2 but I usually don't have to wait. They have been proactive in adding needed items such as 2 platforms for deadlifts cleans and such though which is great. They also offer personal training and classes which seem very active. I don't use any of these services though so I can't offer personal experiences. If you're like me and just want equipment there isn't a better gym in the area.
