Long time member of this gym. The coaches are friendly, motivated, and knowledgable. The equipment is top-notch and plentiful. The space has everything one needs for a full body workout and plenty of space for rowing and running. The classes are scalable to fit one's needs - from beginner to expert. There are a lot of classes during the day and open gym times if you want to work out solo. The best part is the community of people who are welcoming and supportive! There is no intimidation or "better than you" mentality - everyone looks our for each other.

Still here after all these years. Coaches are still stellar, classes still fun with a supportive community, and they put safety and technique first.

I had an internship around the area and my wife and I joined the gym for 6 weeks. I just want to say , they have an amazing community over there. Almost everyone is friendly and welcoming. We felt like we were members for 5 years even after a week. I also want to specifically thank Justin and Sky ( coaches) for being awesome coaches and one of the nicest people. They helped me correct my form for a lot of movements. I hope I will have a chance to workout with you guys again!

Great programming and ideal workout hours. This box offers all the CrossFit equipment, two restrooms, shower, and reception/kids area. I assume most CrossFit gyms have a wonderful community. But CrossFit Shady Grove members are the best collection of people I've gotten to know. Outside of the box, we do occasional happy hours and karaoke.

I was a member for 5 years (I only stayed because of my son, and my friend and his son). Btw, the club had a raffle drawing for the best review on FB with the nice prizes... My experience went from bad to worth and to terrible:
1. Absence of coaching during the sessions. Most of the time the coaches are taking to each other, surfing the internet, texting and talking to selected few members who a part of their inner circle.
2. Unhealthy and threatening environment for the majority of the members who are not a part of your inner circle. The owners of the club, Lindsey Warnes Harbison and Jason McCary and Jason’s wife Lauren McCary use the club as their social playground. They cultivate relationships with those few chosen members, ignoring the rest of the members. Moreover, the members of the inner circle feel empowered to talk down on the rest of the members, interrupt practices engaging couches in lengthy, loud and unrelated to workouts discussions.
3. The club owners moved on with their lives and disappeared from the club. Lindsey Warnes Harbison runs her own law firm as her Linkedin profile states. Jastin McCarry is a fire fighter. The club is left to Lauren McCarry, Justin’s wife. Lauren is a highly inexperienced coach who is absolutely not interest in coaching. She uses the club to socialize with the selected few members and to pass time. She doesn’t coach at all completely ignoring members. Her coaching duties are limited to setting up the timer and yelling at the members to put their equipment back. During the practices, she extensively talks to other coaches disrupting them from coaching, members of the inner circle disrupting the class and serves internet.

I have been working out at CrossFit Shady Grove for about 2 years now. I have seen tremendous changes in my body and its abilities. I can lift weights I didn't think I could and I have also noticed that I can do other activities like run, bike, and swim further and better because my endurance has increased.

Classes are always available and all of the coaches are amazing and know exactly how to help you achieve your goals. They even helped me recover from a hamstring pull and they always encourage and push me when they know I can do better. The workouts are hard, but you push yourself to your limit unlike any other gym. You work muscle groups that you didn't even know existed. At the end of each class you feel so accomplished for being able to complete the workouts. There are also different classes offered at this gym that I haven't seen at other Crossfit gyms. They have Carbon Cardio and monthly Mobility classes that help with your endurance and performance.

Whether its your first time or you are a veteran, everyone at Crossfit Shady Grove is welcoming and they help to keep you motivated.

This place makes me happy. This place motivates me. The feeling of waking up everyday and looking forward to going CFSG is priceless. The culture and community at this box is so friendly and welcoming. The coaches deserve a 5 star review on their own. Just an overall great place to be.

I am from out of state and needed a crossfit gym to work out for the month. This is an amazing gym that has big enough space and has all of the equipment you need to train whether its for crossfit or for their carbon class which is more cardio based. They have classes that run in the morning, afternoon and evening so it works for anybodys work schedule. The coaches are very instructive and they know what they are doing which and will help give you pointers with your form so you do not get injured. The other crossfit members that you will work-out with are also very encouraging and positive which pushes you to train harder. All and all, a very good crossfit gym from the inside out.

Found out about CFSG through groupon. Tried out carbon cardio for a month and i loved it! I'm the type to enjoy very intense workouts that kick my butt. I'm all about pushing my limit and these classes do just that. I initially had no intention of becoming a member... but after attending classes for a month, I didn't want to stop going. Of the three crossfit boxes I've tried out, CFSG is my favorite for various reasons. I've been a member for 9 months now and love every second of it. The coaches are great trainers, their programming is amazing, the facility and equipment are well kept and organized. I go there not only for the workouts but because of the CFSG community as well. They throw fun events, and surely cater to their members. I highly recommend checking this place out!!

CFSG has been there for me since day one to act as a complement to my training as a runner. Thanks to the coaches and their workouts, I've become faster, gained endurance, and decreased my recovery times. The sense of community is also quite palpable and truly makes it feel like we're part of the family.

CrossFit Shady Grove has great coaches and positive attitudes from all of the members. As a CrossFit beginner, I really feel that the coaches take their time to make sure that I am doing each lift properly, and will work with me one on one when necessary. Classes are challenging but fun.

Great gym! Engaged coaches and friendly members. Good, varied program. I have been a member for several years and only regret that my schedule doesn't allow to go as often as I would like.
