Lovely yoga ashram that follows the 8 limbs of yoga. Has courses in the foundations of yoga and then deeper courses that teach the physical and spiritual sides of yoga. Best of all, the ashram is off of East-West Highway but you'll feel like you're in a wooded retreat.

I've been taking Hatha yoga classes here for the last few years and it is unlike any other yoga studio (or class) in this area. Authentic and welcoming, the community is amazing. Highly recommend!

This yoga ashram is by far the best place to learn yoga in the city, if not the country! What an incredible oasis of peace, love and light! Finding a real and truly authentic yoga ashram in the U.S. is a challenge, but finding one in the middle of a busy downtown like Bethesda was nothing short of miraculous and life-changing for me. After starting yoga here under the guidance of the live-in monks, I never felt the same doing yoga in a studio or gym. There is a peacefulness in this simple and sacred space that carries with me for days afterwards. As close to the positive energy of Rishikesh as one can find in the U.S. I am very happy and thankful to be able to take classes here. They practice the Sivananda style of Raja Yoga and are very welcoming of newcomers and experienced yogis alike. What sets this place apart IMHO is that it lives and breathes all 8 aspects of yoga: harmonizing the Self, physical postures, breathing practices, social ethics, turning inward, concentration, meditation, and complete integration. Their Bio-dynamic CSA foods, especially the dates and yogurt, are also yummy!
