Zero attention to the new coming child. No attempts to involve him to the process. Very unprofessional.

I love silver stars it is an amazing place. All the classes are extremely fun and I’ve improved so much since I started. All the coaches have helped me but the coach I have right now (coach AD) is the best. He really helps with your skills and makes every class enjoyable.

We’ve had such a great experience with Silver Stars Gymnastics! My daughter has been attending both classes and summer camp there, and she absolutely loves it.
We were so happy with the staff and the space that we hosted her birthday party there—and it was amazing! The team handled everything so well, kept the kids engaged, and made the day extra special. It was stress-free for us and a blast for the kids.

My girls love Solver Star gymnastics. The coaches are patient and they work with each child without favoring one over the other. Both my three year old and eight look forward to going each week. It is also a good outlet of energy for my ADHD daughter. They have multiple times and classes to meet different needs and levels.

This place is nuts. To attend an open gym (where a parent stays), you have to create an account, give them your child’s full birthday, their pediatrician’s name and phone number, an emergency contact who is not a parent, and your insurance carrier and number. Unheard of.

My son attended his first ever gymnastics class last week at 3:30. He is 3.5 years old so I signed him up for the Twinkling Stars class because it is for 3-4 year olds. It was my expectation that the class would start with simple, achievable tasks as it was only the beginning of the session. My son was nervous, but bravely participated in the first stretching activity with no complaints or tears.
However, when the class moved to more dramatic tasks he did not have a good experience. He was placed in a position to flip over a bar after only 20-30 minutes in the facility for the first time in his first ever class. This was very scary to him. He had not yet built trust with anyone in the class and had never performed anything close to this activity. When he began crying he was not comforted, but left to break down. Eventually he was pointed towards the door where he could return to where the caregivers were located. He has indicated he would like to not do gymnastics again.
My son is very active and loves jumping and tumbling. I was really hopeful this would be the perfect activity for him. I'm disappointed he was not able to experience gymnastics in a supportive and safe environment. I understand from the FAQs that refunds are not offered but I was hopeful my experience would be important to the owners. I emailed the office to see if they could offer another option that would be more appropriate for my son and have not heard back.

We are an international family in the DC area and we are grateful we have come across Silver Stars Gymnastics and the tumbling and trampoline-program (TNT). Our daughter has joined the team more than 2 years ago and since then she has loved every single practice with head coach Juwan and coach Andrew. She has progressed as an athlete in a way we never would have imagined and she has grown so much as a person.
We have never seen such a professional program in Europe and we highly recommend Coach Juwan and his TNT-team. He definitely is the best coach we have ever met. It is definitely a challenging environment for our daughter, but worth every single second. It is a life lesson for her to build mental strength, to learn what dedidaction and discipline means and how to deal with success and failures. To send Sarah to the TNT program with Coach Juwan was one of the best descisions we have ever made and we are already sad about the fact that by the end of next season we will be returning to Europe.

My daughter has been on the tumbling and trampoline pre-team at silver stars for the past 2 years. This has been such an amazing experience for her! Coach Juwan has been great at building confidence, skills and strength along with self confidence that comes from competition. We are excited and ready to be on the full team starting in the fall. It’s been a great experience all around for our daughter and our family.

Our children have attended Silver Stars camps and programs for years and have participated in the team experience as well. Staff have always been caring and somehow manage successfully a beehive of activity. Coach Juwan has been particularly great for TNT leadership because he is clear with parents and athletes and extremely disciplined and dedicated to the sport and athlete safety and growth. We highly recommend this program!

Silver Stars Gymnastics has been a wonderful experience for our daughter, Nora. She has been involved with the TNT program with Coach Juwan and his team for multiple seasons as a pre-team member. She has benefited greatly from his coaching with not only specific TNT skill development, but also and more importantly, her confidence and overall athletic development. I would highly recommend this program for anyone interested.

Silver Stars Gymnastics has been a wonderful experience for my child, Max (10 years old). Max has been competing for Silver Stars for several years. His development is astounding. We drive about 1 hour to the facility multiple times per week because the program is so outstanding, Coach Juwan in particular. Coach Juwan works the kids extremely hard and is very much a disciplinarian, but he balances that with true love for the kids. He is tough, but nurturing. Skills that Max once thought were unachievable have been attained because Coach has a real step-by-step method to getting the most of the kids. I highly recommend this program both in terms of improving your child as a gymnast and in teaching them to be respectful, responsible, determined individuals. Go Silver Stars!

I can't say enough great things about Coach Juwan and the competitive team. The kids are driven, and Coach Juwan does a phenomenal job of meeting them where they are. In a very short time, his attention to detail and technique has significantly developed my young gymnasts.

Silver Stars Gymnastics has been a fantastic experience for Elle. Coach Chelsea has been particularly outstanding due to her exceptional dedication and the personalized attention she provides. Her coaching not only focuses on perfecting skills but also on building confidence and a love for the sport. Elle has grown so much under her guidance, both technically and personally. We’ve seen significant improvement in Elle’s performance and enthusiasm for gymnastics. We highly recommend this program for its professional coaching and supportive environment!

My daughter has been a competitive tumbling and trampoline (TNT) gymnast with Coach Juwan since she was 3-4 years old. She started on pre-team and has worked her way up to Nationals where she placed 18th in the country this year on double mini trampoline (DMT). Now 10, my daughter has never asked to miss a practice or a meet. She has never been injured (except for one careless "dive roll" - basically a somersault in a routine warm up). My daughter is playful and serious. She always seems to have fun and learn new skills (building mental strength with physical). Her teammates are her friends. You will not find a better coach in the DC area than Coach Juwan in my opinion If you're considering superior competitive coaching in a supportive and challenging environment, consider the competitive TNT team.

I just really dislike this place. I’ve given them so many chances and they just fail each time. Greatest hits…
-I signed my daughter up for camp. She’s been potty trained for years but wet herself because no one would tell her where bathroom was. When I arrived she was in some random lost and found shorts crying and they wouldn’t release her to me because they couldn’t fit her name in the system. Ok, but she is literally right there and has been with you all day, let me go to her.
-I signed up for a beginners class when she was 3 and the instructor told them “ok do a somersault!” But she had no idea what that was or how to do it. There was no instruction whatsoever.
-we went to open gym that we reserved in advance on off day from school. There were so many people it was entirely unsafe and they said they don’t monitor how many people they let in. So making a reservation is pointless.
-when we arrived at a birthday party, my kids went to stand to the side while the instructor was leading a warm up. My kids do not like to just jump in so they were watching from the side. The instructor stopped the warm up and told them to come stand next to him and when they said they just wanted to watch, he told them they weren’t allowed to do anything at the birthday party then.

We gave Silver Stars a year and half because it’s really the only game in town unless you want to drive out to Rockville. Most of the “teachers” are really just bored teenagers who make little attemp to instruct - I’m actually not sure they know how to do gymnastics (I’m being serious). The kids are basically just shepherded to different areas for open gym. I watched my daughter try to figure out the equipment on her own. As an example, after a year and a half, nobody had even tried to teach her how to do a cartwheel- the only thing she was hoping to learn. I gave an extra star because some of the managers are responsive and helpful. Once I extracted information about who the qualified teachers were, we tried to sign up for those classes but it’s a real ordeal - and then those teachers are often not actually there for class because they’re out supervising team competitions. I know Silver Stars has had staffing challenges like everyone else, but our time there was a waste of money and an enormous frustration.

Open Gym is an outstanding deal! For $9, my son was able to run-around, swing on ropes, jump on trampolines, and play on the various pieces of equipment for an hour. There was no instruction, just free play; anf my son enjoyed it immensely (and I enjoyed his post-play nap)

Disinterested teachers in the comet class this year, looked bored the whole time, not engaged, and failed to inspire my child. Are they not getting paid enough, or do they just lack training/skills on how to convey a sense of fun and enjoyment? Disappointing experience.

This gym was the start of my daughter’s love for gymnastics. Within one week they got her doing a chin up pull over at the age of 5. They then got her doing cartwheels and handstands after four week. Followed by back handspring, front handspring, back walkovers.
This gym helps to build stills that set the foundation for endless possibilities. The staff and owner are amazing. This is a gym to consider.

Both my girls have been coming here for years for classes and summer camp. It is a well-run studio. The only complaint I ever had was how crowded the parent area was on Saturdays. I was so happy to see that they re-organized the parent area to make more room. The new lobby area layout is a huge improvement!

My three year old started taking classes here and it isn't as much as I expected for the price I paid. $30 per class for a three year old to bounce around is a little much. And the session we signed up for was only 6 classes... $180. Probably wont be going back. Maybe when she's older and decides if she wants to be there or not

Horrible customer service. Money is not an object when it comes to my children's entertainment. However I like to know what I am getting for what I pay. Reason which I am very detailed and specific about my questions. Needless to say I was lied to when I specifically asked 1 visit = 1 kid as one would think. I was told twice 1visit = any count of kids. Sounded too good to be true which is why I asked for clarification and was assured 1 visit = any count of kids per the visit. To my surprise the 1st visit for 3 kids counted as 3 visits. Which is ok. I mean business is business. But when I went to remind and ask the sales receptionist who assisted me which was not that long before visiting the facility the customer service went from being a 5 star to a 1 star. I couldn't finish my sentence (clarifying question) and the establishment went from being a friendly sales person to a merry go round on the answer to a very specific question. Like a dentist pulling a stubborn tooth. Ouch. Sorry to say I don't think after I complete my paid visits, I will be doing business here. Would have asked for a refund but after that customer service and straight out lie, I don't think I even want to communicate or attempt with the individuals at the desk. Will be looking for other establishments to create fun opportunities and possible lessons of learning for my kids. 👎
