Something changed here around Springtime. It is no longer a place of welcome for me. Perhaps when things shift again I'll be back, but the current state is not in alignment with my highest self.

I have attended the free Sol Yoga classes at 7am on Thursday mornings at Carroll Creek Outdoor Amphitheater. This is located under the white tents right on Carrol Creek. Frederick is at it's most peaceful at this time of morning as the sun quietly rises and welcomes the day. Different instructors run each of the classes and all of them are amazing. You are guided to listen to your body and work within your comfort zone. The class ends with a calming gong and flute serenade provided by local musicians. There is ample parking at this time of day. Most people arrive early, some trickle in. There is always ample space to attend. Bring your own mat and water. Come experience one of the reasons Frederick is such an amazing place to live! Thank you SOL YOGA!!!

Sol Yoga is a place to gather, heal, do yoga, and find community. I've attended yoga classes, talks, and put on a few concerts there. The owner Dorcas, as well as the staff have always been accommodating and supportive. I love the feel of the "Garage Studio" which is far from a garage. It's a well lit, spacious room with good acoustics and a great ambience. I love Sol Yoga!

I don’t know how this business can keep going without answering either phone or email. I tried both multiple times. Haven’t heard back. It’s more than unprofessional… it’s… rude.

Sol Yoga is definitely my favorite studio in the area. The instructors are knowledgable, talented and passionate about their practice. They genuinely care about their students and are considerate of the students needs, limitations and aspirations. The studio provides a safe and welcoming environment for both members and guests. Classes are varied and scheduled at convenient times. Although I stick to in person class, there are virtual options and a large library of pre-recorded classes available on-line for members.
I was hooked on Sol when I first entered the studio on Patrick Street. I felt a positive energy when I entered the building. Only a few short months into attending classes to the studio, our lives changed dramatically due to the pandemic. Sol, anticipating the closing mandates, was “test driving” virtual platforms before the manatees went into effect. Being proactive allowed the students to continue their practice with little or no disruption.
In May last year we returned to in person classes. Not to the original studio, but across the street in the Yoga Yard - the backyard of a historic home in downtown Frederick. A few months later, the Garage was re-opened for in person classes. A former garage, the Garage is a light, airy place that also emanates positive energy.
I plan on being a Sol member for a very, very long time. I’ve come to the realization that I’m getting older and need to adjust my methods, techniques and approaches for achieving and maintaining physical and mental well being. For seasoned yogis and new yogis, I highly recommend Sol Yoga Studio.

I love the variety of classes offered. Sol Yoga is the studio you should consider if you want variation in your practice. I have attended active classes where the heat and energy is palpable, and more Yin oriented classes that helped me focus my attention on myself and my breathing. I also appreciate the number of good cause yoga classes, and the inspirational environment of the spaces. All of the Sol Yoga locations have something unique to offer and qualified, dedicated teachers who seem invested in helping you improve your postures and breathing. I have always been able to find a space to park, even after a snowstorm, but I would recommend coming a few minutes early to make sure you have enough time to find a space, gather your materials, and come into the moment.

The classes are wonderful but the parking is terrible since they added a new class that conflicts with the regular class time. I won't be back unless something changes.
