Updated review: Been a member for a few months now. So far when comparing Clarksburg, Gaithersburg, and Rockville ( Soldierfit gyms off of 270) this is the better gym but there are better options outside of Soldierfit.

This gym like the Clarksburg location is asking me why I’m not wearing the one shirt / “uniform” they gave me. Note, I workout 5 times a week. One shirt for 5 workouts is unhygienic. Also note, they just gave me another free shirt since I’ve completed 50 sessions. I’ll have to get to 150 sessions to get a third shirt and 300 sessions for a fourth shirt. I find this shirt thing to be annoying and trivial. If someone pays for a year membership they should give them three shirts upfront. They seem desperate to make patrons wear or buy their merchandise.

Don’t sign a membership here. These rules are senseless and the workouts are pretty basic. Find another gym that doesn’t 1)require a “uniform” 2) want you to do a “salute” before and after your workouts and 3) say a silly “military” chant during workouts instructions.

There is also some professionalism issue with an instructor telling I need to smile more or that I look angry. Who cares how my face look just do your job and instruct the class. Additionally, I think the instructors say goofy things from time to time to sound tough or like a drill sergeant, which makes the gym somewhat corny.

Soldierfit is great! I’ve only gone for 5 days and don’t get me wrong, it’s hard work. But as they say hard work pays off and no pain no gain. I am more energized and more is yet to come. As they say getting there is the hardest part.

I had a really great experience with group workouts at SOLDIERFIT. The energy of the group kept me motivated, and the instructor’s guidance helped me push past my usual limits. It was encouraging to be surrounded by people with similar goals, and the workout feel more fun than challenging. I left the session feeling accomplished, Energized !

I started during hell week and it was pretty brutal but the people in the class are probably some of the friendliest I've met since I moved here in July. Right away I felt accepted and welcomed which made me want to come even more. I've been to awesome group fitness classes but this is the first time people started talking to me right away. I feel great after the workouts are done even if I show up tired. Hearing people in the class ask "I'll see you tomorrow?" is a great motivator. About the class, you get a 50 minute work out. It's military oriented (obviously) so you're in squads. If you've been in the Army, it'll feel like organized PT on steroids. It's one of the least expensive unlimited group fitness gyms in the area if you sign up for a year. One thing is you wear a matching shirts for the boot camp classes so unless you do laundry every day, you'll want to buy more than the one they give you when you sign up. However, you get milestone shirts and a shirt if you bring in someone who signs up. Also, they offer free life time memberships to Gold Star families. 🫡

I joined SoldierFit because I was tired of wasting money at gyms. I literally joined them all, from cheap gyms to luxury gyms and I could never lose weight because I didn't know what to do. I needed someone to have a workout ready for me to go. While living in LA I joined a CrossFit gym and really liked it so when we moved back, I was ready to join the gym again but decided to do some research. That's how I stumbled upon SF. I was planning on joining for a few months since I had a trip coming up and well a year later I'm still here! The trainers have great workouts plan and it really feels like a community here. We go in a do our best and everyone is encouraging. The music be bumping and you never regret going. You come out sweating and feeling good. I used to go 3-4 times a week and now I go about 5-6 times a week! OH and I forgot, there are people of all ages and body types and every feels at home. I would highly recommend SF.

As far as the experience there it's great. Definitely a great workout. But when it comes to working a full time job and you have a kid depending upon someone else to be there for your child to watch them makes life tough. So it becomes a challenge with your time..

Their weekend hours are very limited. However, if you stay committed to showing up at least 2 to 3 times a week, you will get results you pay for. You must be dedicated to your fitness goals and dreams.

Since I was a teenager I have had muscular problems, especially in the lower back. I enrolled in multiple gyms, which I gave up very quickly, perhaps because I did not have the appropriate guide. I signed up for Soldierfit Rockville very afraid that it would trigger another bout of pain. Today, 3 months later and attending bootcamps at least 4 times a week, I feel my back stronger than ever. I had honestly given up a lot of dreams of things I wanted to do in my retirement age. Not anymore. Those dreams are back and now is when I have back and energy to go for them. I joined SoldierFit on Cyber Monday of 2022 (since they had a membership deal) after attending my first class with a friend who had joined much earlier in the year.

I was an athlete in college, and I graduated in 2020. When the pandemic hit ad up until I joined SoldierFit, I was living quite a sedentary lifestyle...not knowing how to dive back into fitness.

I was still dealing with the shame of being out of shape and not being able to do the things I used to (like running a 5k), while actively reminding myself that moving my body for my overall health and well-being is more important than losing weight. My mindset was very much: "If I'm consistently active, the weight loss will follow."

I've been going to HIIT classes ever since joining. You start at your own pace and build up from there. I appreciate that there are people of all different shapes, sizes, ethnicities, ages, etc in every class.

I've attended classes at Rockville (my home location), Silver Spring, and Fulton. I've found specific instructors that I keep going back to: Adovi (now at Silver Spring), Dara (Silver Spring), and Priscilla (Rockville).

The combination of encouragement, various (and challenging) workout routines, and music choices (which yes, the music you move your body to does in fact make or break your workout) have kept me going back to these instructors.

Having accountability is so important to me. So, when I see that Priscilla is teaching, it's so much easier for me to get out of bed in the morning and go to HIIT. She knows my strengths, she knows when to push me, when to ease up, and how to motivate me.

I'm so incredibly grateful that my friend encouraged me to try SoldierFit. My body has changed so much. I'm stronger and superrrr flexible. I'm truly falling in love with my body again, and it's definitely a journey, but I'm appreciating all that my body does for me.

I've always been skeptical of gym memberships and gimmicky workout companies out fear that they're just financial predators. I can honestly say that joining SoldierFit has been one of the best decisions of my life as of late. Not only do I feel supported, I also feel healthy and strong. I'm in better shape now (mentally and physically) than I was as an athlete in college.

TLDR; Joining SoldierFit was one of the best (if not THE best) decisions I made last year. Priscilla at the Rockville location gets my butt to the gym.

I wanted to share how grateful I am with being a part of soldier fit. I was looking for a place to work out and really was serious about getting fit. This was the place for me. A few pros and cons below:

Pros:
- great workout instructors (Ericka is one of the best, she takes her time to show the workout and correct positioning to get the best results. Most of the instructors are good at this, but especially her!)
- everyone there is serious about working out! So it's like you have a group supporting you along the way

Cons:
- at times music is too loud and sometimes inappropriate (this is my opinion but I've learned to work around it, at times I rather have no music at all and just hear instructors directing on what to do)
- a few instructors are not the best/confusing - I can only recall one person who was like this; her class was super confusing and she didn't show how to do the workouts. I just tend to avoid this instructor as there are majority others who are great!
- be careful with positioning and workouts, don't rush! Sometimes it can feel like a competition because everyone is doing them together. I just focus on what I'm doing and push to my limit; would suggest someone who is a beginner to do the same as to not cause any injuries. This is why I appreciate great instructors like Ericka!

Overall I'm appreciative of soldierfit and their instructors. Happy to be a part of this gym!

This place is the best workout facility. You have friendly instructors that challenge you with different workouts that consist of weight lifting, cardio, toning, and endurance.
All of the amazing instructors provide challenging workouts that change every time you come to class so you will never get bored or leave without feeling accomplished. You can enjoy their boot camps that are provided multiple times daily or come in and work out at your own pace in their facility gym. They also have options to work out with a trainer and consult with nutritionists to meet your specific goals. Come in and workout on your terms! You won't be disappointed, but you will probably get just as addicted as I have.

The positive: The classes provide a good workout. Kevin and Adam are great instructors. Monthly membership price is very reasonable for this area. The negative: management is dishonest. They promised a free personal training session when I signed up 9 months ago, but then gave me the runaround for weeks, asking if I could reschedule twice and then the third time the trainer just plain didn't show up. Emails go unanswered and when I talked to instructors they just promised to follow up and email me...which they didn't. It's fine if the management doesn't want to provide a training session but they shouldn't promise it at sign up, it's misleading.

I've been a member of SoldierFit Rockville for over 2 years now and I can't say enough good things about my time spent. Early on I loved the convenience of the virtual classes in response to COVID. The smaller classes and outdoor workouts were definitely appreciated at a time that we needed them most. The cleanliness was taken seriously and the level of care shown by all staff members was positively apparent.

The workouts themselves are unmatched. Truly! What I love most is that it is impossible to repeat a workout due to the fact that every instructor approaches each class differently. It's seems impossible to plateau when the progress is determined by the individual and how much work they are willing to put in. The smaller group offerings and personal training opportunities provide a more nuanced and intimate approach toward achieving healthy goals.

I love the diversity of participants and the strong sense of community that is cultivated among everyone present. The encouragement is the secret sauce to creating an environment where everyone is seen, heard, and respected. I highly recommend to anyone looking to level up in their lives no matter where you land in age or place along your fitness journey. Join SoldierFit Rockville today!!! Great idea BUT… I joined and paid the initial promo. Then got a new job where I was sent across the country and would not be able to attend. I got charged again which I understand (for only attending 1 class). I called and emailed and no answer. In the end I was down $300 until I called my bank and they weren’t able to take anymore money out which they still tried to because of all the emails about payment being unsuccessful. In the end I knew I was never getting it back.. Do yourself a favor just go to one life or something.

I would gladly given them 5 stars as the workouts and people are great, but canceling your membership is a terrible experience. I have been on the phone for 4 months trying to get my membership canceled and it still is not taken care of and I have been informed they do not do refunds. As long as you don't ever need to stop your membership this gym is great.

I went to this location for about seven months prior to the pandemic. During classes I always felt a bit looked-over, since the moves were technical, if you dont know the proper technique, you won't see proper results. The instructors had their favorites and occasional would help you adjust, but for the most part you were expected to policd yourself.

Its a clique, if youre in it its a great place to workout, if you aren't, you better know what youre doing to ensure you see results/dont hurt yourself.

When the pandemic hit I froze my account, yet was continously charged. I had to fight to then get that money back (they wanted to give me a credit towards future sessions, but I wanted the money back). In order to get my money back I had to cancel my membership with them.

I dont recommend this location.

I just recently joined this bootcamp organization and thus far I have observed that the staff, and the members have been very helpful engaging and inviting. I am not new to bootcamp and I like that staff will assist and guide and modify when needed for you. The facility is clean and organized. Shout-out to trainer Adam for being super helpful and encouraging !!!!

Great place to start, get motivated or push you to your limits. Whatever you are looking for they can get it done. This place is like a family to work together and push each other, no matter what level you’re at, all you have to do is show up.

Soldierfit is great! I started working out here 1 year ago and enjoyed the people and company so much that I became a group fitness instructor. It's a fantastic atmosphere with excellent workouts. The comradery and versatility makes this gym something special. Give it a try!

I’ve been a member of Soilder fit for a few years. In the beginning of my fitness journey I started at the Rockville location but quickly swapped over to the silver spring location as they simply had a better environment for me. Everyone at the silver spring location has been great. Excellent customer service and it truly feels like you are cared about. People are just nicer and nonjudgmental. And that is why when the pandemic hit I never paused my account. I wanted to support my gym. Every once in a while I would pop in to the Rockville location because of convenience and every single time it was a reminder of why I don’t go there even though it works better for me . This past weekend was no different. After calling for a few days and not getting in contact with anyone me friend and I (both members) decided to stop in as we both wanted to reduce our membership to the gym side. We have to go through Rockville as that is where we signed up, had it been silver spring this unpleasant experience never would have happened. You see online it says they close at one. So we head down and walk in. We find an associate with what looked like a small class and once we explain what we needed, in my opinion we were dismissed. He said they were closed and that he was having a private session. I explained that online it said a different time and he just repeated that they were closed. I was told we’d have to send an email and that was that. It felt dismissive. It especially irritated me because I know that had I wanted to upgrade my service or get personal training , it would have been no problem at all. Y’all would’ve been more than happy to take more of my money, just not less. It’s just poor customer service. Just one more thing that has helped sour my experience here. I sent an email and haven’t heard anything back and frankly I don’t expect to. I don’t recommend this location at all if your looking for good customer service. Frankly you’d be better off at one life 10 minutes away.

I love a good bootcamp! Workouts were intense and I got a good sweat, but the business practices and professionalism was unacceptable. I relocated out of the area and notified this location that I was moving. I sent several emails to the Business Manager, Kevin Meyers, and I received no response. Finally, I drove the 1 hour up to see him in person and explained to him that I relocated. He informed that I would still need to pay for the next TWO (2) months! I proceeded to reference the company contract and email him a copy of my mortgage and that I was more than 15 miles from any of the affiliate gyms. NO RESPONSE. If you are looking for a great workout, this is a great gym! But poor professionalism and poor communication from leadership.

Just began my journey with Soilderfit. I’ve only done one week but I feel so motivated and energized. I have been doing bootcamp class with Luke and he’s pretty encouraging and works the class out and makes us push ourselves. I highly recommend it! Hope to continue and see amazing results. So far. Everybody has been very professional. Answered all questions with a lot of information and they are doing everything possible to stop the spread of COVID. They limited the time the class last to 40 minutes to allow time for cleaning for the following class. They clean every equipment we use and leave the door open to allow air to filtrate. Parking is perfect. It’s right in front of the gym. It’s pricey but it allows you to have one-on-one with instructors if needed and equipment use. Even if your new to working out you can keep up and modify the workouts. I LOVE IT!

I had my intro class recently. It was a rough work out and I felt like jelly towards the end, but it kept me going at the same time. It was pretty much very intense circuit training which I love. But I'm so out of shape that it was rooouuugghh. But felt great!

Everyone was super friendly and youre paired up into squads for each station. So you get to stick with your group and go through it all with them. The best part was that the excercises were very diverse so it worked your whole body. I really enjoyed it and signed up for a member ship.

It does have a little bit of cheese factor with whole army persona at first. But ya know, they definitely know what theyre doing with their workouts. And its owned by vets so that kind of reduced the gimmicky factor for me and it felt more like a comradery atmosphere by the time you make it through the class. Which is one thing I've definitely missed since getting out of the air force.

Give it a try if you haven't. The first class is free and I dont think you'll have any regrets!

Honestly, one of the best investments I’ve made. I’ve worked out for many years and have been to CrossFit’s, clubs, other bootcamps, but this is by far the best. Every workout is intense, every trainer has their own style and I feel amazing afterwards. I’ve only been a member about two weeks and already see that I’m more toned. I feel better. I’ve also lost inches in my belly already. I originally signed up for it he Bethesda location, but since it’s not open yet, I’ve been coming to Rockville. The people are nice and friendly — I may end up keeping this location as my home location.

When I cancelled my membership (couldn't afford to keep coming) I discovered that Soldierfit takes an additional month's payment upon cancellation (unless you provide proof of serious injury, moving away or military deployment).

The instructors are friendly and the workouts were strenuous (if repetitive) and could be adjusted as you see fit.
Depending on your schedule and location, it might be worth doing for you.

UPDATE: A week ago, I received an explanation about the additional payment: They said I was on a one-year contract, but this was not made clear to me at the time I signed up.

Right after I cancelled (about a year ago), I had called the office asking why they charged me again, but I didn't get any help from whoever was on the phone back then.

Thank you Dave for reaching out to clear this up.

An excellent concept, and a wonderful group of members, but very inconsistent management and widely varying quality amongst the trainers. Some trainers are outstanding and highly credentialed like Jose Vera, Rich, and Juan, others are barely qualified and seem that they have been placed on the schedule only to fill a scheduling need. The owner seems more enamored of putting his own face on the wall than being engaged with the trainers or members directly in person. Seems to be some Growing Pains. I'm hoping things will improve over time and hope the best for the company.

Best group workout for the price, bar none. About half what cross fit gyms charge with same group atmosphere and comparable workouts (that depends on your definition of cross fit though this is less Olympic lifts and more mobiltiy/functional movements). There is a FULL Rougue style bumper plates and rack setup for Hard Core cross fit stuff if that is your thing to on the back wall. Full range of kettel bells, sleds, rower, benches, boxes, bands, and a respectable dumbbell range. Plenty of room to. Also, as a Vet I love their involvement in local Vet centered programs. Classes are hard, but really supportive. The only person you are competing with is yourself.

Pretty good workout classes. I went to two different classes...I really liked it. It is fast paced but once you get the hang of it, it is easy to gear it towards something that would work best for you. I would love it if classes were two hours. Felt like one hour was good but would have been better for me if it was slightly longer, perhaps because I felt I just warmed up to the class after halfway into it...not sure
