We have been a part of the City Ballet family for six years. Our daughters both started at City as preschoolers, and we were immediately blown away by what City had to offer. City’s dance pedagogy, which is used for all types of dance and levels of instruction from preschool to adult, strives to not only develop the dancer from a physical perspective, but integrates physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional aspects that are the foundation of a quality dance education. Our dancer receives excellent instruction here. The attention to detail shown by the instructors is very impressive. They've shown a genuine interest in getting to know our dancer as an individual. They really care and we've seen constant, steady development over the years under their professional, watchful eye. It's been remarkable. When corrections are necessary, I've seen them done professionally and without drama. They make sure our dancer knows not just what was wrong, but give ideas on how to do it better, if not sure. I have the utmost confidence in the instruction here.

My daughter has been dancing at The City Ballet School for 10 years. It’s her home away from home. Her time at City has not only provided her with excellent dance instruction but it has also has taught her discipline, respect and commitment. The studio offers excellent instruction in ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern and tap. Twice a year, dancers have the opportunity to participate in 2 full length ballet productions, each performed at the Maryland Theater. If you are looking for a pre-professional ballet school or just looking to satisfy your child’s love of dance, The City Ballet School is the place.

This is a fantastic dance school to go to whether you are 3 years old or 30 years old. I'm a current student here and have been for around 10 years and wouldn't choose to go anywhere else. The City Ballet School taught me respect, responsibility, and discipline along with different styles of dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and modern. I would really recommend going to The City Ballet School for the best dance education.

My daughter has been dancing here for 12 years and she absolutely loves it. There is no place that she'd rather dance. If you are interested in taking ballet, jazz, modern, or tap, this is definitely the place to go. The ballet training is especially wonderful. Also, all of the dancers here have the opportunity to perform in three shows every year at the Maryland Theatre! If you want to dance seriously, definitely come to City Ballet School!

I currently dance at The City Ballet School and there's nothing to say other than I wouldn't go any where else but here. The teaching/educating that each dancer young and old receives is amazing. But, the whole atmosphere of the studio is amazing as well everyone is there with each other sharing one thing they enjoy doing, dance. If you think you might be interested in any type of dance; ballet, jazz, tap, or modern dance this is an amazing place for you.

The City Ballet School in Hagerstown, MD offers the highest quality ballet instruction in the area.
Their knowledgeable instructors provide a thorough dance education from the Creative Movement classes through to the Advanced division. Most of the instructors either have Dance/Education degrees or Professional career resumes.
It is no coincidence that students from other area schools find their way to The City Ballet School when they decide that they want to get serious about their ballet training.
This school is also beginning to see results as students from the Junior to Advanced levels are receiving recognition and acceptance into some of the most prestigious Summer Intensive training programs in America. Not to mention the increasing number of graduating Seniors that go on to continue their dance studies at top rated College programs around the country.
It is true that if your child is just looking to have a fun after school activity to go along with a lot of other things, this school might not be a good fit. People that enroll their students here should be ready for a disciplined learning environment. But you know, discipline goes a long way to preparing young people for success in life – no matter what career path they later choose.
