We love Ms. Malika! I wanted my daughter to be in a classroom where she gets some redirection, but having fun at the same time. Ms. Malika provides more than that! Positive attitude, always a smile on her face, calm demeanor, and always willing to help. I rarely write bad reviews but I’m going to write this because it is worth me warning parents of neurodivergent children to look somewhere else. My son has been a member of this gym for over a year and initially had a rocky start as most children his age normally do. However, after sometime he warmed up and built relationships with some of the teachers and friends. In his class there were a number of other children who loved running around during class and not necessarily do the activities that the instructor asked them to do. The first time the new director Rachel took over one of the moms said “she’s too strict, this isn’t a professional sport they’re just kids and at 4 and 5 years old they should be allowed to have fun” I brushed it off and thought no maybe her approach is different and it may bring some more organization to these classes however I was extremely wrong. We just withdrew our son from this gym because although unlike other kids his age who love to run and jump around, we are being asked to either join class with him and basically coach him or transition him from a class where he’s been with friend for over a year to a new and small class with people he wouldn’t know. Keep in mind I mentioned my son is neurodivergent. I told Rachel I did not appreciate the lack of notice or even a heads up that she was thinking of this approach, it would’ve been nice as a parent to be given the opportunity to sit down and come up with a plan that was not only fair to everyone else but to my 5 year old as well. Rachel mentioned she’s got over 15+ years working with kids and I’m sorry but absolutely no one who has that much experience and knowledge of working with different types of children would think a drastic change like alienating a kid a way from his friends would be the answer to a kids problem. I also have over 15 years of education in working with children so I am well aware of what the protocol is when you have neurodivergent kids in a group with other kids. You add another teacher! Especially if it’s not just 1 kid who can use the extra help! We used to love coming to this gym and honestly the previous group of teachers were way nicer and welcoming. My husband went to my sons class for the first time and came home and said “ whoever that lady is her attitude is nasty” and I knew exactly who he was talking about. No less than a few hours later I received an email giving two options effective immediately of what I could do with my kid. My child who’s been a loyal customer for over a year.! Again, I usually don’t write negative reviews because I feel like everyone’s experience can be different. But I know how hard and how long I searched to find a place that would fit my son and if you are a parent of a kid with any kind of neurological condition, then this is not the place for you. The good thing is we have already found a new gym for him and to any of the parents there with children who need extra support good luck but from someone who has experience working with these kinds of children this place is not for you. Find another place that will love and cherish your little one just the way they are.

I was a member here not too long ago, but I had to stop when I was eight months pregnant, and living over an hour away made it tough with a newborn and toddler. Now that my daughter is almost one, I’ve been thinking about enrolling her—and honestly, no other gym compares to this one. I’ve checked out locations closer to home, and they don’t have the same feel.

Ms. Rachael is genuinely the best—she’s incredible with the kids and also such a supportive parent-friend. She makes sure the kids are learning and growing, while also encouraging parents to be involved. Ms. Allison is another excellent teacher, and together they make such a fantastic team. That’s really what sets this gym apart.

I’ll definitely be signing my daughter up again and making that drive, because the quality, care, and compassion here are one of a kind.

I’m so glad we found this activity to do with my daughter. It’s been fun with the activities that they do to help encourage them developmentally to stay on the milestones. We LOVE our instructor Cheyenne. She is so good with the babies. She goes nice and slow and if they aren’t able to do something she still tries it with them but doesn’t push any of them if they aren’t ready. She also makes sure you’re comfortable doing the skill with your baby if she is doing the activity with them. She is going up an age group and we thankfully still get to stay with Cheyenne for the next group.

I have been a member of the little gym since my first born was 18 months (he is now 4). We have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know some fantastic teachers along the way. Ms. Alison and Ms Ice have always known how to keep my little ones smiling. Ms. Cheyenne has gone above and beyond as we transitioned out of TLG. Her customer service skills are phenomenal . We have moved to Frederick and will unfortunately not be able to attend TLG but we will greatly miss our TLG Gaithersburg family. Thank you for the incredible memories and friendships. We used TLG in Downtown Crown for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party and had an amazing experience! The girls who helped us on the party day were wonderful. I brought a lot of extra decor and they were very helpful in making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The kids had a blast, the princess theme ended up being perfect! I requested and paid for the premium package and did not receive it. Even things that were set aside for my party were not communicated properly and we ended up sending party guests to the store for things that should have been available and in fact were on site. I originally visited another location for a party and my daughter loved it so much that I found a location near me. The staff at The Little Gym are friendly, helpful, and extremely patient with the children during class.

I will say if you are looking for a structure gymnastics program for your child (I was not) this might not be the place for you but it is a fun environment where they do learn skills, play games, and make friends. My daughter will be joining another location because of our move but we have enjoyed our time here.

My daughter and I love our time at The Little Gym and have been members for 6 months now! The classes are always nice for the both of us and I’m happy seeing her grow in such a welcoming environment. I want to recognize the teachers, Cheyenne and Cam, not only does my daughter absolutely adore them and they adore her, but they always go above and beyond. As a pregnant mom, keeping up with my 13-month-old, can be a lot. Cheyenne noticed I needed water and brought it to me (without me even asking), and she even helped warm my daughter’s bottle after class. Those small gestures made a huge difference and truly reflect the care and thoughtfulness of your team. Ms. Cam is always so kind and gentle with my daughter and I’m so thankful for her. Beyond that, I want to acknowledge the entire staff for always being so kind. Every interaction has been such a positive experience, and it really makes The Little Gym feel like a special place. I have been coming here for almost a year now and my child always looks forward to it! It’s a great way to get that energy out, but also build some confidence. All the staff here are wonderful, friendly, and super supportive. Wanted to give a big shout out to Ms. Kam as well. My daughter can be shy and unsure of herself on hard days, but Ms. Kam went out of her way to empathize with my daughter personally and encourage her to not to give up. With her support, my daughter her was able to do the skill, and Ms. Kam’s overwhelmingly positive reaction really changed her attitude. Seeing that smile on my daughter’s face and the pride in her voice on the way home nearly brought me to tears! Staff like this can really make a huge difference and I am so lucky my daughter has this support to build her confidence!
Not only that, but they also have a lot of fun member events and camps that are free/discounted for members and are another great bonus. Their makeup system is also super simple and easy too. TLG is amazing! We love you guys.

This place is amazing if you need a full or half camp day either during the summer break or any other MoCo no school days the Little Gym is a great option for your kid to have fun and make friends. PSN has also been great as we have used this to go on dinner dates.

But most importantly this place is very safe and respectful when it comes to my son’s food allergy. They ask good questions to understand the food allergy, trained to see the symptoms of an anaphylaxis and the use on an epi pen. Making sure the kids wash their hands and disallow food sharing during lunch. Alison, the Gym Director, has been the best and always available if I have any questions in regards to food allergies & procedures.

This is an amazing place to take your child! I brought my 16 month old to the little gym and loved how welcoming and kind all the staff were. We love The Little Gym of Gaithersburg! My 7 yr old and almost-3 yr old both do classes here and they LOVE it. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and welcoming, and they have been patient and supportive on the days my 3 yr old has meltdowns and have helped my 7 yr old to flourish with this great outlet for her energy. Our daughter has been going to Little Gym classes since she was 10 months and we just recently celebrated her 2nd birthday there with all of her friends! It was fun for a while but my issue is that it seems like they’ll do or say anything to get you to get a membership. I was told there was no obligation to when I could cancel (I have the texts) and that it would just be courteous to give them a notice (but again, not mandatory). I call to give a weeks notice but I was told they needed a MONTHS notice and then charged me for another month since I didn’t give them enough notice. I’ve just read the reviews and it seems like they always have an excuse for their actions so I’m sure this won’t be any different.

ALSO, they don’t have that many classes I could actually go to. Unless you have a VERY flexible schedule I wouldn’t proceed. I could only do weekends and kids get sick so we missed many classes.

Lastly, good note. I really liked Leilani! I didn’t see her the last few times I was there but I feel like she was very good with my 3 year old! Loved her energy and the way she spoke with people.

We had our daughter’s joint birthday party here on February 26th (one turning 5 and the other turning 3). We were super excited after touring the facility because it was very clean, had a place for parents to observe their kids, and our party would a have full access to the entire gym (no one else would be there accept those invited to our party, which is hard to come by). The other thing we liked was that the facility took care of setting up and cleaning afterwards!! Fantastic. We were also told that they would serve the pizza and cake so that we would not have to worry about it (which is one of the reasons I can only give them a 4.5, discussed later). This was, in my opinion, by far the best birthday that we have had for our girls!! The staff that led the birthday party (ENTER HERE) was very high energy and the kids responded well and really liked the games. We chose a princess theme and it was decorated very well. They provided a juice box for each child and water to follow (number two reason that they did not get a 5, but luckily we had enough water for everyone). The games were engaging for the kids. The facility asked us if we wanted specific games and were very considerate about making sure what we wanted as far as that is concerned was provided. I forgot the candles (mom fail lol) and the staff was wonderful enough to find a few for us to use. They did let me know that it was my responsibility to bring the candles so this is not to point out something they did wrong, it is the point out how helpful they were. I feel like I am being picky here, but it is very expensive to rent a space for a party so I just want to be as transparent as possible for those who want to use this facility. Do not get me wrong, despite the list of cons to follow, this was one of my favorite places because the kids had such a blast…and in the end that is what it is about. So, to recap…. the facility was very clean, neat and organized. The staff was bubbly and engaging. The kids had a fantastic time. Our guests really enjoyed it and also want to book future parties here so do not discount them because of a few gripes.

Cons
1. This facility does not provide paper products for adults (like many other facilities here)- We were ready for this, but because we ran out of stuff for the kids we had to dig into the adult supply so that is why I bring this up.
PREVENTIVE MEASURE: Bring lots of plates, napkins/paper towels, and utensils
2. The Pizza- We were told that they would serve the pizza and that did not happen. I will say that a staff member did put a slice of pizza on a plate for each of the place settings, however somehow we had about 3 or 4 kids that did not have a chair or a place to sit. Again, this is not a huge disappointment because people inevitable bring additional people or forget to RSVP so were flexible with this. Also, we ran out of plates for the kids.
PREVENTIVE MEASURE: Bring lots of plates, napkins/paper towels, and utensils.
3. The cake- it is hard to cut cake lol, so when the facility said that they would cut the cake and help serve it, I was so happy. This did not happen. I think this is one of the things I was most disappointed in because the parents of the guests had to jump in and help us cut and pass out the cake. If the staff would have helped a little bit more that would have been amazing. I also understand that some people may want to cut their own cake so again, this is personal preference and may not be a big deal for some.
4. Additional charges- This added up in the end so my advice would be to let people know that if they want to bring an additional child to the event that they would have to cover the additional cost (difficult to expect, slippery slope, etc.) or just be prepared and move on like we did lol.

We love love love this gym! My son Liam has only been going for a few month but he looks forward to every Tuesday to see his favorite teachers Alison and Jayden. In the past couple months Ive noticed him getting past his fears and trusting his teachers little by little while actually learning about gymnastics, balancing, tumbling, and taking turns.

Great place! Melissa is a great instructor. Very clean. All the equipment and items like balls or shakers are cleaned after each class, also the mats. Easy to make-up a class if you can't go to your scheduled one. Just call beforehand and choose a class on a different day that's the age group for your child. There's circle time, free explore time, learn new skills, practice old ones, sometimes the air track (a soft trampoline type thing), sometimes parachute, and always bubbles at the end! Bubbles at least for the younger classes. I've only been to 2yr and under classes. We've mastered the balance beam, rings, forward flip, backward flip, some bar skills, and wheelbarrow to name several! Classes are about $30/class so a bit pricey.

My son had his 5 yo birthday party there and enjoyed the vibe, so we started taking weekly lessons. The energy is still positive, but I wouldn't recommend to stay long. The majority of the staff are teenagers and they don't really have a curriculum to develop any skill. I have been lazy to cancel the class since they put your card on auto renew. Now that summer is coming, we are stopping the class. At the end of each session, they are giving out medals and certificates to all the kids and parents will be inside the gym with them. It is clear to me, this is just a playground not a gym class when I observe closely. I think it's fine for little kids not older ones. Once I went to the front desk to ask for make up lessons, the personnel was looking at his phone and told me to come next week on another day, which ended up to be a "medal hand out" week and I had no clue. Dropped off my son and headed to target, I came back to a kid who has tears in his eyes feeling abandoned because there was a ceremony. Ironically, I had to go to the make up class because the facility was closed on snow day or holiday, not my own absence. When emailed them and expressing my concern over the experience. I was told that I should be aware of this week being "performance week". I Think I am sorry that I am not familiar with all the classes ongoing in your facility?? It just reminded me how important it is not to treat the kids as another credit card you charge for, but often times, that is the case. I understand people drop balls from time to time. But the stake is high when you are in a customer facing role and you are working with kids.

Today we had our test class to see how we would fit with this gym. We were really disappointed. The class was under staffed and over booked. Our son has barely turned 4 and was turned loose with the expectation that the other kids would show him the ropes. He tried a higher balance beam, fell and hurt himself (he was limping) and the staff didn’t see it. We got it on video though since we send our family fun videos of what he does throughout the day. I’ve been livid ever since he hurt himself and the lack of structure and staff. The class ratio of kids to adults for that age group needs to be adjusted, it’s just too dangerous for little ones to not have more supervision.

Edited to add: no, the instructor was not a few feet away, no adult demo’d it for him, and you can see in my video that the instructor walked right by him. Additionally, I have texts saying no one even saw him fall as indicated by the lack of staff AND being asked how he got hurt. When my daughter started attending classes at the little gym, the instructors were wonderful. The pervious teachers were personable, they knew the names of the kids and were great at redirecting the children when they got off track. They also took the time to provide parents with a quick explanation of what the class focused on and what children could do at home to practice their new skills. Now that the teachers have changed, the classes are less structured and feel chaotic. There are more kids in the class and the new teachers don't seem to have mastered the curriculum or have the appropriate skillsets for teaching toddlers. The classes are more like free play with the kids running around. I suggest that management should reduce the class size and focus on equipping the instructors with the right tools to effectively lead the class.

We are loving our experience at the Little Gym. We started a few months ago and my only regret is that we didn't start going there earlier like around 9 or 10 months. Baby girl and I started to attend classes once a week around 11 months. She doesn't go to daycare so this is a great outlet for her to move around and an opportunity to play and meet babies around her age. She is now more social and likes to explore even more. I also feel that their fees are reasonable and the flexibility to make up your class if you miss one is great. Definitely a great find and the monitors and personnel are all super nice and helpful!

I decided to hold my baby’s first birthday here and wow! I am thoroughly impressed! The staff here was so nice, I wish I remembered our instructors names. They were patient with the kids, and had activities for both younger and older kids to do. The best part was being able to leave after the party without having to clean up, I would definitely recommend this place, thank you for helping us make our little girls day special.

The Little Gym provides a wonderful, enriching environment for children of all ages. I enrolled my daughter as a 10 month old to the Little Birds Group in 2021 and she has thrived being around other children in her age group, especially coming off of the solitary year we had in 2020 due to COVID. The teachers are bright, cheerful, engaging, patient and most importantly loving of all the children in their classes. They are such a great source of positive reinforcement and I can truly see the progress in my child as she is encouraged to try new things and learn new skills week to week. We love The Little Gym! Over the past four years, both of my boys have taken numerous classes at both this location and their other location in Germantown. Their Covid precautions have made us feel totally safe, and we returned to weekly classes as soon as they were able to reopen earlier this year and have been in classes ever since. I was super stressed about planning my son’s first birthday party. The staff took all that stress off my shoulders with all the help they contributed to his party. I was able to book The Little Gym for 2 hours. They decorations were right on point with the theme. They made sure the kids, who ranged from 1 on up to their pre-teens, were entertained the whole time. They always checked to see how I wanted things to go for the party like the time in the gym and time in the party room. I never had to set a single thing up myself...they did...and when the party was over, I never had to clean a single thing...they did. The girls were awesome!!! I wish my memory wasn’t so bad and I remembered all their names. I totally recommend that anyone have their kids birthday parties here at the Downtown Crown Little Gym! I will be back to have many more there also!

Best Birthday EVER! We have been going to The Little Gym at this location for almost 3 years. After doing classes, Parent Survival Nights and summer camps, we finally decided it was time to have a birthday party there.
We had a joint birthday party for two of our sons and it was fantastic! I was able to buy the party supplies, balloons, and decorations that I wanted and they supplied the rest (at a VERY reasonable cost).
On the day of the party, everything was ready to go. The instructors did set up (and clean up). As guests showed up, parents could stay in the viewing area or go with their kids in the gym. The kids had about 10 minutes of free play time alternating with some instructor-led activities (at a very easy level). The instructors even came up with activities that went with the theme of our party. All the kids had a blast!
It was great for to be able to actually participate with my kids and we were able to have party guests at all different age levels.
I'll definitely be there again for future birthday parties.

Fantastic Instructors that Make the World of Difference!

The Little Gym instructors are very energetic, enthusiastic, and nurturing with my son. He is sometimes a bit shy at the start of gym class, yet Ms. Victoria, Ms. Paola, or Ms. Sammy have happily shepherded him in the room and helped him 'warm up.' During one class, he was happily running around after being in the gym for less than a few minutes. The activities are challenging for him, yet are appropriate for his age. He gets to develop and try new physical skills while having fun in the process. Also, the staff is very responsive to any concerns I have expressed. I had a discussion with Ally, the gym's director, several months ago about other students that were inhibiting my child's time/enjoyment in the class. Ally listened to my concerns and worked with her staff to ensure the necessary corrections were made in class. Thank you!

My daughter takes classes here and loves them, so we decided to also have her 5th birthday party here and it was the best decision we could have made! The staff took care of everything and were super friendly and welcoming to all of our guests. We did not have to do a thing, and the kids had a great time.
