New second location in Catonsville, MD! Traditional karate classes for ages 3 to adult. Take advantage of a FREE TWO WEEK TRIAL of karate classes! Featuring Uechi Ryu karate, a traditional style originating in Okinawa, Japan, the Catonsville location is expansive and newly renovated, nestled among the great restaurants and shops on Frederick Rd. We offer karate classes for ages 3 through adult and Ninja Fitness Obstacle Course classes on professional grade equipment. Also offered are an After School Program with Transportation, year-round camps, birthday parties, adult fitness classes, after-school karate programs at several Baltimore County schools and community events throughout the year.

Great dojo and great with kids. Sensei Stan and his staff do a lot to be involved with the local community and raise awareness with the students. There seems to be sincere intent in holistically teaching the students.

My son and I have been proud members of the Okinawan karate dojo since early fall 2023, and we couldn't be more thrilled.
The quality of instruction is outstanding—each class is well-structured, engaging, and rooted in the authentic tradition of Uechi-Ryū karate. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also incredibly dedicated, supportive, and passionate about teaching.
We've grown so much—physically, mentally, and as a parent-child team—thanks to the positive and disciplined environment they foster. Joining this dojo and studying Uechi-Ryū karate has genuinely been one of the highlights of my life living in Catonsville, MD. We feel extremely lucky to be part of such a caring, respectful and inspiring community here.
I would highly recommend The Okinawwan Karate Dojo to anyone interested in learning karate for the first time or continuing their karate journey.
