Coach Shaun is amazing. This is our second year training our daughters with him. Great with beginner, intermediate, and advanced athletics. Understands how to create athletes. We work with him in the off season sports to stay warm and work with him in the upcoming seasons. Great staff and it’s warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Go see Coach Shaun!

A military family who recently moved to area. I made multiple attempts to schedule a trial with Coach Cherae and received two emails finally acknowledging receipt of an email in June that was sent in January and letting me know she’d get with me the following day after talking to the level coach. I never heard anything, I was disappointed because being a military child is hard and having some sort of familiarity such as gymnastics helps that much more with the move. I have sent multiple follow up emails with zero response. Molly was extremely helpful but then I received zero responses from her as well. I inquired about this gym last year with Molly and heard nothing but great things, even convinced my daughter to give the gym in the new area a try for her to continuously ask me when she’d start gymnastics for me to finally tell her, the Director never got back with me for a trial. At this point my daughter has been out of gym for two months and I have finally scheduled a trial at another gym. Very welcoming, kind and I didn’t have to beg for over seven months to be ghosted. I’m sure it’s a great program, which is why I wanted my daughter to go, I saw the way Cherae poured into the girls and I wanted my daughter to have that experience. Everything happens for a reason and I hope the next military family that PCS’ is treated a lot better.

Needs a locker room/dressing room. We come straight from school. Could also use a play nook for the little ones. And some more open/drop-in practice sessions on the weekends.

The staff is wonderful in developing children in this sport. My sons participate in their Ninja program and love the blend of gymnastics and martial arts. There are waiting areas with monitors and a few tables to watch your kid and squeeze in a little work if need be. Highly recommend Thrive for anyone looking into tumbling, gymnastics, or a ninja program.

Personally, I was a patron of First Class Gymnastics before they closed down and Thrive took over the available spot. As a past competitive gymnast, I loved open gym. Open gym as a party, fun, loud, and a great time. There was no team practice and the whole facility was open (within reason) for the duration of open gym. These were the memories I had when I signed up my three children, 11, 9, and 6 for open gym.

According to Thrive’s website, Friday night open gym is tailored to kids aged 5 and older. Parents, this is not the case. The majority of the equipment in the gym is sized for very young children. To the point that my six year old couldn’t swing around the bar because he was too tall. I do not have tall children.

Team practice was going on at this time, resulting in a VERY small and limited area devoted to open gym. The instructions that were given at the beginning were to only stay in this limited area. There was no instruction on acceptable versus unacceptable gymnastics moves, only to keep your hands to yourself.

The staff working that Friday, 12/17, spent the majority of the time telling kids what they couldn’t do versus what they could do. There was no organized game or activity. When one of my children used a tumbling block to spin and roll in, they were verbally yelled at. Pretty much they could stay in this boxed area with the equipment that was too small for them and just sit. It was not an enjoyable evening.

If you have a five year old, they would probably enjoy this. But for older aged kids, it was a bust and disappointing. If there are changes in the program, I would be willing to try again because of my love for gymnastics, but as the Thrive Open Gym stands, it was bogus.

Brand new, nice, clean facility. State of the art equipment. Pleasant, experienced instructors. Everything you would want for your child's gymnastics experience.

Always completely filled up though. Not enough classes offered and not enough open gyms. They desperately need to open another facility. I was lucky to get my one child in. I could not get my second child in. Been waiting for months. Also, wish they offered something for special needs children.
