Updating with the 4-day retreat in the mountains! AMAZING EXPERIENCE and COMMUNITY. Thanks so much for providing a safe, funny, inspiring, active,... I could go and on. I made friends, laughed, had time for pause and reflection, hiked, soaked in a hot tub, and... learned so much more about yoga and my body. Thanks Susan and Liz! Thrive is for those who want to keep thriving :)
The mini meditation retreat was AMAZING. As all the classes usually are, including aerial yoga. I feel so grateful to be able to join Thrive for classes!

10/10 first experience!!! This was my first time going to thrive yoga and it felt so sweet to be greeted like they were expecting me. Seriously, it’s the little things. The place is so lovely, it’s got a lot of charm!
I took a Tuesday 6 pm class with Lena and she was AMAZING. I appreciated her calm and kind energy. She referred to people by their first names, encouraged us to try something new but also helped us feel comfortable if we chose to stay where we were. She was also helpful whenever I needed adjustments, since I’m not a regular yogi.
Overall, I had a great time!

What a wonderful weekend I just spent at Thrive Yoga in Aerial Teacher Training led by Fly and Flow Yoga. First of all, the studio is completely gorgeous. It feels like a spa and has many original artwork murals along the halls and in the studios. The teachers, Traci and Jessie (Flow and Fly), were incredibly knowledgeable and led the training in a supportive and nurturing way that made it fun and easy to thrive. I wish I could come back next weekend for the Restorative Aerial Teacher Training, but I guess I’ll have to wait for the next one. I highly recommend this training and the Ariel classes I’m sure will be coming soon. Can’t wait to come back and try the mat classes too!

I recently attended the beginner yoga class at this studio, and it was such a wonderful experience! Alexis, the instructor, was warm, patient, and incredibly encouraging. She took the time to explain each pose clearly, offering modifications so that everyone felt comfortable no matter their level. The class flowed at a perfect pace for beginners, and I left feeling both relaxed and energized. The studio itself is welcoming and peaceful, which made it easy to unwind and focus. I would highly recommend Alexis’s class to anyone new to yoga or just looking for a positive, grounding experience!

I have been coming to Thrive Yoga in Rockville for over a decade, and it has truly become my “peace island” in the middle of life’s busyness. From day one, Thrive has been the place that helps me manage stress, find calm, and cultivate resiliency and appreciation.
The variety of classes they offer is incredible! There is something for every level, style, and need. No matter which class I take, every teacher brings such dedication, warmth, and knowledge that I always leave feeling better than when I walked in.
Susan, the owner, is deeply invested in the studio and community, constantly innovating with new programs, workshops, and offerings that keep things fresh and inspiring! You can feel her passion not only in the classes but also in the space itself. The studio is beautiful with murals, fountains, a natural ambiance, all creating an atmosphere that is both uplifting and grounding!

I had a lovely experience today checking out Thrive for the first time. The studio was offering a complimentary workshop in aerial yoga, in a clean, natural light filled, high-ceilinged room with purple “silk” hammocks. The instructor, Meg, carefully led both novices and veterans safely through a variety of moves and breathing, culminating in a simple inversion. Aerial
yoga is so much fun. It’s more like being in a mindful playground than a yoga class. It’s exhilarating! If I lived closer and didn’t already take AntiGravity Yoga at my local gym, I’d happily sign up. Highly recommend!

I had a truly wonderful experience at Thrive Yoga yesterday. I started the day with the intermediate Hatha class taught by Susan, which focuses on building strength and stability. It was a challenging, well-paced class that left me feeling grounded and strong—I've been attending regularly and can feel the improvement each week.
Later in the day, I joined an introduction to chanting workshop led by Shae. She created such an open, thoughtful space and offered a well-rounded overview of the practice, including how to start incorporating chanting into your own routine. It was both informative and personally inspiring.
The day ended with a healing sound bath jam led by five members of the Thrive community. The way they moved around the room playing different instruments made it a truly immersive experience—it was unlike any sound bath I’ve experienced before.
Thrive offers a wide variety of classes and workshops, and the community is warm, knowledgeable, and welcoming. If you're looking for a yoga studio that offers real depth, variety, and a supportive environment, I highly recommend Thrive.

I just completed the two-week in-person session of the Summer Blast 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification. Whether you’re looking to simply deepen your own knowledge and ability or to be able to teach yoga, I highly recommend Thrive. This beautiful studio has high ratings and a lot of experience in training. In fact, this was the 26th time they had offered the 200h training so it was a smooth and well honed experience. We received a comprehensive and invaluable personalized training manual. The 5 trainers were skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate. There were flexible payment options. My classmates were wonderful and I loved working with them and miss them all so much already. If you’re looking for a 200h certification Thrive is definitely the way to go!

I absolutely love Thrive Yoga Community! Every time I leave a class, I feel refreshed, energized, and deeply content. Lena’s classes, in particular, are exceptional-she’s incredibly patient, attentive, and professional.
During my very first session with her, she noticed my goal of mastering the headstand pose, and since then, she’s given me personalized guidance-both during and after class. Thanks to her support, I’ve gradually built strength and am so close to nailing it!

Some years ago I began taking yoga classes with an excellent instructor at a national health club in another city. After I moved to this area I took classes at a local branch of the same club, but did not find an instructor comparable to the original one. Throughout and since the pandemic I practiced somewhat haphazardly on my own, but did not progress much. Recently I discovered Thrive Yoga and tried their trial membership. All the classes I attended were very good--the instructors know how to impart the skills of their discipline, and I learned something new at every class. I enjoy the challenge of yoga as well as the state of relaxation which an hour of practice induces. I have joined Thrive with a 4X monthly membership and look forward to developing my abilities with the support of a weekly class.

I came across Thrive Yoga when I had just moved to North Bethesda in December 2022. I signed up for their new student offer, hoping that yoga (asana) classes would alleviate my burnout symptoms and work-related stress.
Little did I know - this one step would be a giant leap towards my yogic learning and spiritual expansion.
Susan (the owner) is an exemplary Ashtanga Yoga practitioner. She is truly a spiritual master, and this 'Thrive'-ing community is a living proof of that claim! She is passionate about fulfilling her purpose to teach, lead and empower others to live joyfully with higher consciousness. She deploys her sense of humor effectively to keep the fun alive, especially during challenges. I am constantly inspired by her generous guiding spirit and beyond grateful for her loving presence 🙏✨
I like the variety of classes, workshops and trainings offered at Thrive, and how every teacher here has crafted their own specialty. So, you get to explore different styles of asana and pranayama (breathwork) techniques. Asana classes with Felicia, Jane, Alyson, Meg, Katie and breathwork with Ashira are a must-try imo. And if you're not lucky to be near Rockville, check out the upcoming retreats.
Take that leap of faith and sign up for membership at Thrive! Pro tip: talk to Meg (the studio manager) ❤️

I cannot say enough great things about Thrive! Everything one could ask for in a yoga studio is waiting for you at Thrive. The variety of classes (classic vinyasa flow, hatha, prenatal, yin, restorative, chakra yoga, restorative, sound bowl & candlelit offerings) knowledgeable teachers, workshops, retreat offerings, as well as the themed- weeks that honor yogic philosophy and holiday weeks.
Aesthetically, the studio is an oasis; the beautiful stone, the jungle-like greenery and amazing murals in the studios and entryway. I purchased greeting cards that were replicas of the murals (for sale in the studio by the artist), as momento to always remember this amazing studio. The owner and management team put thought into every detail into the studio and experiences offered. As a self-proclaimed yoga snob and yoga teacher.... Thrive knocks it out of the park every time!

I went to thrive yoga over 10 years ago and worked with Susan in 1:1 sessions. I suffer from a condition called fibromyalgia and experience intense chronic pain. Susan worked with me doing restorative yoga and breathing, and I was blown away by how much better I felt after those sessions. Susan was incredibly attentive-- sometimes it would take over 5 minutes to get me into a pose with the proper supports/bolsters/pillows to allow me to stay in that position without pain. She never rushed me, or made me feel silly for needing so much care and attention, and was incredibly kind through the whole process. I have since moved away from the area, but have not found a better yoga practitioner before or since those sessions. I would highly recommend thrive yoga if you have any chronic pain and need more specialized care that other studios do not provide!

From Willow and Kris’s Flow classes, to Gi’s Hatha and Gentle Yoga classes, to Lalita’s Yin classes (just to name a few, there are so many other wonderful folks teaching), there is a class for every need. I’ve felt respected, rejuvenated, and strengthened. Excellent studio!

I found Thrive last spring and am already fully engaged in so many new and wonderful experiences! I took the sound healing training with Susan, and am now in the breathwork training with Ashira. Both are fantastic practitioners and teachers. It’s not just about the knowledge I am gaining—these experiences have been extremely important for my personal healing. I am so thrilled to have found such a beautiful, supportive, and welcoming community!

When my membership was ending, I was accosted on the way out of the door for “a cool exclusive package.” I did not planned on renewing but I did anyway because I wasn’t even given a moment to reflect, and they had my credit card and basically charged it while I was still pondering. Still funny how the very last day, not one person acknowledged me entering or leaving and treated me like a number like that day. The cold/detached owner is money hungry and doesn’t value her clients, so she pushes sales and cliches onto everyone like it’s a cult. NOTE: please look up Yoga and how it actually is detrimental to women’s bodies and how it was actually created by and for men!!

I’ve tried so many yoga studios, but Thrive is truly a serene gem! From the moment I walked in, I felt enveloped in a calm and peaceful atmosphere. So far all the instructors seem super knowledgeable and attentive, making sure each session fits everyone’s needs—no matter your experience level.
What I love about Thrive is how they focus on the whole person, nurturing not just the body but also the mind and spirit. There’s such a great variety of classes to explore, and the community here is so welcoming and supportive.
Whether you want a good workout or just a peaceful escape, Thrive has it all. I can’t recommend this studio enough for anyone looking to elevate their yoga journey in a truly serene and uplifting space!

I found this studio this summer and it was a true gift 💗 The front desk staff (Meg) was immediately so welcoming on my first time and throughout my time there. The studio itself is so gorgeous and peaceful. They designed it with beautiful details, one part like you’re walking in a forest river bed. The studio rooms have big bright windows but also hidden from street video so it’s private.
The instructors were all amazing, kind people who provide gentle feedback. They offer many different types of classes at convenient times for a working person. The class sizes are usually large but not overcrowded for the room size. The pricing of the studio is unbelievable for all of these benefits. I couldn’t believe how reasonable it was in such an expensive place as Rockville. Oh and parking…never a problem. It’s located in a quiet strip mall that is easy to access off of Rockville Pike.
No questions asked, one of my favorite finds in Rockville and most beautiful yoga studios I have ever been to. Thank you Thrive 🙏🏻

I had a yearlong membership here. The best thing about this place is Daniele. I started here as a complete newb and she is the BEST teacher I have encountered so far. Nonjudgemental, helps you modify exercises if needed, makes classes fun. Other classes you just go watch and repeat what they are doing. She's golden. If you go here, take her classes.
The place is really pretty but be careful, your things may go missing and they take no accountability. I got a brand new manduka pro mat and, granted, I stupidly didnt write my name on it, but I used it for a bit and stored it in their space as they have a storage room for members and it hadnt been a problem. Right before a clean up, it went missing. I asked management to please send out an email asking if someone had seen it or taken it by mistake and they responded by saying, "we cannot go on accusing our members of theft," which was so not what I was asking. But for a $100+ mat to just walk out and nothing be done, it hurt. It took months of me asking and their clean up of the storage happening. Sad to say, between this and the lack of after-work variety of classes, I'd never be back. If Daniele ever starts online classes or her own shop, I'll be the first one there.
Interesting thing your reply. I never got one of those emails you say you sent but I do get advertisement and other emails from your facility.

I have been going to Thrive for a year now for Katie’s Hatha Classes. Katie’s classes are the perfect addition to my movement minded lifestyle. As a person that prioritizes strength training, I needed a class that was a slow-flow mobility minded class to enhance my sessions at the gym. This is exactly what Katie’s classes offer, her knowledge of Yoga and the body exude when she is leading the class. She asks at the beginning of class for any requests for areas in the body that need extra attention and then effortlessly threads them into her flow.
Yoga affords you the time to reflect on your body, mind, and movement. Katie’s centering, breath work and flow strategically hit all major mobility points. You have the ability to see where your body started at the beginning of class and how it feels and has progressed at the end of class, after having gone through a mindfully orchestrated full body flow. At the end of your time with Katie, you know you have given your body and mind a beautiful gift. You can tell she shows up embodying the true spirit of Yoga, and uniting her class and the community that she has built from her knowledge base, her care, kind spirit and of course great playlist!

For the past three months, I've been practicing yoga at home via YouTube. I felt myself becoming more excited about yoga, so I figured it would be a good idea to find a good studio to build more community. I decided to give two weeks of Thrive a try.
I attended four classes during that time. The actual classes were great. My favorites were Hot Flow and Yoga with Weights. I loved that it was accessible yet challenging for beginner/intermediate yogis.
One thing that stood out to me about Thrive was that they offered a lot of unique class options, and it also seemed like they invest a lot in creating a good atmosphere for yoga. They also offer retreats, workshops and instructor trainings for people who want to grow in their practice. Knowing that these opportunities were available was a huge plus to me, and also a driver in my decision to join.
Finally, I feel like the instructors and staff actually care about creating a good experience for new people. Every time I called, someone picked up the phone. When I came in for a class, they enthusiastically greeted me. When my two-week trial ended, they called and texted me about membership options before I could even call them.
I would encourage anyone in the area who is looking for a high-quality, inviting yoga experience to give Thrive a try.

I am thoroughly pleased by my experience at Thrive Yoga. I signed up for the 2-week Introductory classes in August with some trepidation since I was new to yoga and not athletic in any way. I quickly joined with a monthly membership. The instructors have been amazing. They suggest modifications to poses so all levels - from beginner to advanced - can feel satisfied with the class. Yoga has helped me be grounded in a very stressful time due to a family illness. The classes taught me how to find stillness and peace amongst the chaos of life.
