I absolutely love taking classes at Towne Barre! The instructors are always so positive, welcoming, and full of energy, which makes every class so much fun. As a mom of three, having this time for myself has been truly priceless — it helps me relieve stress, recharge, and feel stronger both physically and mentally.

I tried everything, physical therapy (good ones too), chiropractors, Rolfing, acupuncture, gyms (Pilates, yoga, water aerobics)…etc.to find someone who understood my individual needs to realign my body. I was born with hip dysplasia. That resulted in a full hip replacement, back surgery, two meniscus tears, and I now live in a senior body. Going to the gym was ok, however, I never knew how to improve my overall flexibility, strength, posture…and areas of my body that just weakened. I can’t do floor exercises because I also broke my wrist…now resulting in a plate and pins to hold it together. You get the picture…and I’m blessed to have wonderful surgeons who put me back together…but not without limitations, My acupuncturist recommended Towne Barre and I discovered “therapeutic Pilates” with Tammy. It has been amazing! For the first time, I feel improvement. I now engage my core and understand what that even means. She explains why I am doing the exercise and shows how to do it correctly. I sit taller, my neck is getting better, etc. it’s only been a month working with Tammy but I can say, it is the first time I found someone who addressed my individual needs within the entire body. I am beyond thrilled to finally make the mind and body connection. Thank you Tammy. And I wish anyone reading this review will find his/her connection too.

This was the first place I ever tried barre, and it set an unrealistically high expectation for what to expect from other barre studios. The instructors are so friendly, welcoming, and bring an energy to the class that makes even the most challenging movements feel fun. I found this place out of curiosity on ClassPass but it has become a central part of my exercise routine.
Definitely take Stretch and Restore yoga with Marley; it sounds easier than it is, and has helped me out so much with increasing my mobility. She has us moving in ways I've never seen in a yoga class before, and yet I never have the feeling of "am I doing this right?" that plagues me at some yoga studios. It feels like everyone in the class has a personal yoga instructor, because she will give the most intuitive directions or a hands on adjustment to everyone. She genuinely cares about each person in her class, and I consistently feel AMAZING afterwards.
Also a must-try: Barre with Brittany. I'm a very large man, so a barre class was a relatively intimidating environment to walk into. Time and again however, Brittany's contagious positivity has made me feel like I belong, and allowed me to really enjoy the workout. She is constantly engaging in a way that makes me give everything to the workout and have fun while doing it.
Bottom line: amazing vibes at this place; you should try it even if you don't think it would be your thing.

I loved taking classes from Tammy and Anne Marie for years even prior to the opening of their own studio. Their classes (as well as the classes taught by other instructors at the studio) are above and beyond the best in the area. Challenging, effective held at times that can work for anyone. With options for a monthly membership or individual classes they are definitely worth checking out!

I GREW A HALF AN INCH!
Yes, it's true! Recently, my chiropractor measured me and told me I was 5' 4" and a half inches. I said, "no, I'm 5'4" (as I have been my whole adult life). He re-measured and checked and said, "Nope, you're 5' 4 & 1/2." I couldn't believe it myself but quickly realized, all my years of consistently taking barre, barrelates and Pilates Reformer classes at Towne Barre have actually lengthened my spine & strengthened my postural muscles.
Most people, as they age, complain of lower back pain, hip and other spine & flexibility issues. Because they believe that exercise will worsen their problems, they become sedentary and many times actually "shrink" (lose inches off their height). However, taking Pilates-based classes actually does the opposite! Owners, Tammy and Anne Marie and all the impressive instructors know, understand, and believe what Joseph Pilates himself said about looking after what you have:
"A man is as young as his spinal column!"
Don't wait another day; come to Towne Barre where well-trained & educated, informed, non-intimidating teachers will safely help you re-gain your strength of your core and spine in a clean, cozy welcoming environment with good vibes!
Take inches off your waist and thighs and places you want to lose them, but NOT off the length of your spine!

Towne Barre is amazing! The teachers are phenomenal. They remind us about our form throughout class, and some take their time to correct and adjust us. I am always challenged and walk out of class feeling empowered (and sore)!

I’ve tried a few barre studios and towne barre is by far the best. The instructors are all amazing. I leave feeling energized. The class schedule works with my schedule. The studio is clean and airy. Julie and Tammy are my weekly instructors and they keep me coming back. I struggled to keep a consistent routine with barre before I found this studio. Also love all of the events they host and the work they do for the community. You cant go wrong with any of the instructors. You get an exceptional, well led class no matter who is teaching.

Towne Barre offers a great workout, with amazing instructors. Every instructor finds a way to incorporate their personality into their classes, creating a rich schedule of offerings to meet everyone’s interests.
However, what makes Towne Barre stand out from any other place, is their sense of community. You will find support and encouragement from everyone and be welcomed as soon as you take your first step through the door.

I’ve been taking barre classes for over 12 years at various locations and with various instructors.
When I found out a few years ago that Tammy & Anne Marie were opening their own small studio, I was so excited, as they both were/are the best instructors I had. Plus, I’ve never really liked the atmosphere (crowds, smells, noises) in big gyms.
I immediately signed up as a member, and am so glad I did.
They’ve created a “cozy”, non-judgemental space for taking barre, Pilates, HIIT classes, and yoga. The space and equipment are clean and organized.
Anne Marie & Tammy are approachable and helpful if you are new. They truly want you to be in the proper form and do the exercises correctly, so you maximize your workout, and of course, don’t injure yourself.
Both of them, and their now expanding team, have a keen understanding of body mechanics and awareness, which makes all the difference in a workout.
Since joining 3+ years ago, I have increased my routine from a couple times a week to almost every day because I actually love it that much. When I miss a day or two (even if I’m on vacation), I feel “off” somehow. I’ve taken classes from almost all the instructors at some point over these past years at TB, and appreciate each one for their different teaching style, personality, and music playlists. I’ve found it’s great to try different instructors at least 3 times to get to know them.
In 2021, I hit a milestone birthday, but I honestly feel better in mind, body, and spirit than I did in my 30’s.
I wasn’t expecting to start taking Pilates Reformer machine classes (thought I didn’t have the time—sound familiar?)this past year, but I tried it once, and now I am hooked on that, too. Reformer takes Pilates/barre to a whole new level, but it’s amazing because any level can do it! It’s so therapeutic—increasing, strength, body alignment, flexibility and range of motion. The classes are 3 people max, so you get attention and won’t get injured.
Towne Barre’s clientele are women (men are welcomed & encouraged to come & try) of all ages (upper teens, thru 70’s!), proving that barre , Pilates, yoga are the best form of workout because they’re low-impact and easier on your body, and anyone can do them!
As I write this, tomorrow will be the year 2022!!
Don’t put off another day, week, year: come to Towne Barre and try a few classes! You’ll be warmly welcomed, and so glad you did!
Happy, healthy New YOU to you!

My favorite hour of the week! Annemarie and Tammy are a duo that cannot be beat! They have created a beautiful space. No where else can you find classic barre like this. The perfect combination of strength, stretch and shake. Never have i left a class and not felt that good soreness the next day… this is my obsession, my haven… thank you ladies!

I hate strength training with the strength of a thousands suns, but I love barre! The strength you will build will carry you over into all aspects of your life even making every day activities easier. Tammy and Anne Marie have modifications to help you along if you're a beginner or your body is just tired that day. Highly recommend!!!!

Reformer at Towne Barre has helped me increase my flexibility and reduced my pain. Having played a lot of sports I have several injuries that have made it hard to continue to enjoy working out and plying sports now in my fifties. I have had sciatica pain for 10 years. Through the combination of PT and taking regular reformer classes (2x per week), I have found my sciatica pain go from a level 8 to non existent. Its remarkable! The strengthening of my core along with reducing tightness in my hips has transformed my strength and health while completely reducing pain. I can do things today that up until 2 years ago I could not do. If you struggle with injuries or inflexibility, you must try a regular routine of pilates and the instructors at Towne Barre are extremely knowledgeable and focused on you.
