I worked with Corey for about a year at one of the local gyms near me. Within that year I saw so much progress in myself in terms of strength, improvements in my form and just overall confidence in the gym. I can confidently say that training with Corey has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my fitness journey. Corey is a great personal trainer! Have been going to EAC for training for a little over a year now and have grown so much in my fitness journey. Corey is very knowledgeable and not only demonstrates how to do exercises, but explains the why behind it too. Because of PT, I’m no longer aimlessly doing workouts in the gym on off days when I don’t have training. Corey has helped me continue to reach my goals, become more educated about fitness, and hold me accountable. I hadn’t been a consistent gym goer for almost a decade before I started working out at Elkridge Athletic Club. I met Corey there and he helped me with some proper form and established a great beginner workout plan that I was then able to modify after a few months to a more advanced plan. Before I met Corey, I was intimidated by weightlifting and had no idea where to start. But, thanks to about seven months (and counting!) of one-on-one training with Corey, 1) I feel physically and mentally stronger and more safe/comfortable handling much of the gym equipment and 2) I was successfully able to complete my first ever half marathon!
Corey is super down to earth, approachable, respectful, and patient! He tailors my workout plan based on my concerns and personal goals while making each workout challenging but rewarding. Corey takes the time to demonstrate the proper form, break down the techniques, and explain things in a simple and effective way which made things much less intimidating for me. When I am doing something incorrectly, Corey provides helpful feedback and advice on how to improve my form.
Corey is also excellent in that he is able to strike the balance of motivating me to push my limits to get stronger while not forcing me to exceed my boundaries too far, such that I get discouraged or injured. His infectious positive attitude and words of encouragement provide that extra push I sometimes need to get me through a set. (:
I believe that Corey genuinely cares about my mental and physical health and the wellbeing of others around him. Corey had been my personal trainer for almost three months now at the Elkridge Athletic Club. He has been both a fantastic personal trainer and a very nice and easy going person who I always look forward to talking to. When I first started working out with Corey I had little to no experience and I didn’t know if I could actually do intense workouts. However Corey has extensive knowledge of both weightlifting and cardiovascular exercise and he helped me start from the beginning. I’m now nearing the end of my three month personal training period with Corey and I feel so much more confident both in my ability to use the machines and weights in the gym but also just being satisfied with my exercise routine for the first time in my life. If you want to start working out but have no or limited experience working out seriously there is no one better to show you the ropes but also if you are experienced and want to take it to the next level Corey as the knowledge and skills to help you achieve that goal.
