Review for Worthington Manor Golf Club
I played Worthington Manor on Saturday, September 20th with three friends. We get out maybe once a week, and with two little girls at home, my golf time is rare and important to me. I chose Worthington because itβs known as one of the nicer courses in the area, but unfortunately, the experience left me very disappointed.
On hole 13, a marshal approached us and told us we needed to pick up the pace. We took that seriously and did our best, but we were forced to wait to hit our approach shot because another group had hit into our fairway. Despite that, the same marshal came back on the next hole, raising his voice at us and saying we were βkilling himβ and βtwo holes behindβ while we were in the middle of taking shots. His aggressive tone and poor attitude completely disrupted the round and affected my play.
Eventually, the marshal did come back to apologize, but by that point the damage to the experience had already been done. To put it in perspective: the group behind us was also about a hole and a half behind, and we still finished our round in about 4 hours and 20 minutesβwell within a normal pace of play.
Golf is not just about the courseβitβs also about customer service. Players pay good money and make time away from family and responsibilities to enjoy a round. Being yelled at and treated with hostility on the course is unacceptable. Because of this, I will not be returning to Worthington Manor, and I canβt recommend it to others.

Had a fantastic day at Worthington Manor on Wednesday 8/27. We teed off on 10 and the pace of play was excellent. This course requires every club in the bag (played from Blue tees) and the collection of Par 3s are outstanding and challenging - especially on the front 9 which is several shots harder than the back. We had the Steak n Cheese after the round and it was delicious and the wait staff was very attentive. We look forward to coming back.

We played Worthington Manor back in July '25, and the course was in fantastic shape for the little amount of rain we've had during the summer stretch. We came from out of state & I spoke with Jon, the Director of Golf, and he was more than accommodating to speak with and was able to get us on with an advanced tee time. Fairways and greens were fast & firm, just the way we like them. The gentleman behind the counter when we checked in was more than hospitable to talk to. Once you finish your round, make sure you stop in for a bite to eat. Food was delish!

I have played all of the courses in the area this year and with all the heat and lack of rain I know itβs been tough on conditions.
After playing Worthington Manor today, I can see that this place is ready to explode from great to awesome shape!
Greens already punched and healed, they are ready to roll! I had the lowest putting round of the season! I canβt wait to return!

This place is absolutely beautiful and impeccably maintained! The staff is AMAZINGβ¦ super friendly, caring, and they truly make you feel like family. Ronnie (the starter) was especially kind and hospitable, helping us get everything in order even though we arrived late. I surprised my husband with an 18-hole round here for his birthday, and it couldnβt have been a better experience. We loved the challenges of the course and the scenic walk throughout. We made wonderful memories!

Every single staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. The course itself was absolutely stunning. Only chip and putt here if you are Caucasian. It has recently become βcongestedβ here due to them only have a small chipping green with rocks and sand here. If you are any race but Caucasian you will be asked to purchase range balls to just putt. STAY AWAY!

Fun course with greens that a lot of movement.
This course may not be as manicured as others in the area, but the casual vibe allows for good discussion with other players and staff. The practice areas are close to the club house and well kept.
Driving is not super tight but the rough is penal. This is a course you must play a few times before you can score as the knowledge of where to miss the green is huge or you will face virtually impossible up and down situations. Now the greens were running very quick the day we played (12.5 to 13 stimp, no joke) and we saw balls catch ridges and roll out 30 - 40 feet away from the hole. With course knowledge, you will also see the back stops/slopes that will help you move the ball closer to the hole.
The par 3s were my favorite as they varied in length and you have a fun uphill hole on No. 8 and really fun downhill one on No 17 with the back tees at over 200 yards. There a couple of ball busting par 4s that you swear should be par 5s and then you have some strategic par 4s that will test your wedge game.
Awesome swag gear with their logo and solid bar and restaurant to boot. The owner/GM is very friendly and care a lot about their course.

8/26/24: I just returned to Worthington Manor this week for a round of golf for the first time in about 25 years. I canβt believe how much I have missed this place. I had an absolutely magnificent experience! It was an incredibly enjoyable day. The course is in outstanding shape. It is so well maintained and manicured and everything looks fantastic. The GPS system on the carts is the most accurate I have ever encountered, providing exact distances to the actual pins. That helped tremendously while playing a track with which I was not too familiar. Finally, each and every member of the staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. The greeter, the pros in the shop, the shop assistant, the food and beverage crew, and the starter all helped to create an atmosphere that was extremely inviting and welcoming. As a guest, I sure felt like a VIP. I appreciate all the employees for their extraordinary efforts to make my day special. I canβt wait to go back!

Terrible experience. Played on Friday, May 31 and the round lasted over 5 hours. There are no marshals on course to maintain pace of play. Got stuck behind a group of 8(!!!) that help up pace of play. At one point waiting to tee off, there were 3 other groups that came and waited with us. Bunkers throughout were in terrible shape, no sand to speak of what-so-ever. Had prior positive experiences here, but this past round was a major disappointment. Will not be back given other options in the area.

Worthington Manor is just simply a badass golf course. I love that every hole is unique and challenging in it's own way! It can be tough but it makes you think and strategize off the tee (which I love).
I play here once a year for a golf tournament and I always love playing here. The greens are always really smooth and fast (always in great condition). I know every time I come here that I will expect amazing conditions and they always deliver! I'd play this course daily if I could!

I have played this course since early 2000s at least five or six times a year. It is one of my favorite courses because it is always well maintained, great greens and is a good test of golf. Lot of unique holes eg 17, 2, 12, 7 and others that make it worth trying if you want to see some cool holes. Just don't take my early Sun tee time ;)

Updated review based on tee times for the past month with the most recent weekend of 2.4.2023. The major issue in my last 4 rounds over last 2 months is that there are no marshals on the course and rounds are averaging 5 hrs. Sometimes its a frost delay shotgun with multiple groups on each tee box but other times there is a slow group slowing down the entire course and despite calls to the clubhouse, no marshal and no improvement in pace of play. Unfortunately, my group will be pushing numerous other courses ahead of this one due to consistent poor pace of play.

This week we had our 8th annual Impact Golf event at Worthington Manor. We've held the event at Worthington for the past six years, each year it just keeps getting better and better. The golf course and pro-staff is always spectacular, but the overall service from the staff(s) is what really sets it apart from others. Also, the food and beverage was the best its ever been. They day we played the course was βCart Path Onlyβ, which is no big deal. We never left the cart path, but the GPS device on our cart would continuously and obnoxiously alert we werenβt on the cart path all day. We ended up unplugging the device at some point. Playing the front 9 was a tad slow. We were a twosome playing behind a foursome. The course marshall allowed us to play thru on the 11th hole,. With this we flew through the back 9 and finished inside 4 hours. It's great to know that your course has marshalls. Not many courses have marshalls nowadays. I will definitely be back.
In addition, Worthington Manor GC is an excellent track and in pristine condition. It was my first time playing this couse and I now understand why it is a US Open qualifying golf course. Customer Service also top notch. A must play if you live near by.

Course has plenty of risk and reward opportunities and fairway conditions were superb for the most part. I chose to play the senior tees on several holes knowing the limitation of my game. I am glad they have given shorter hitters this option. Highlight was a hole in one by my son (8th hole). The club will send him a framed copy of that hole!

I just returned from using the practice facility. When I arrived, I was informed that there would be a slight delay because the practice area was being mowed. The pro and staff could not have been more courteous or gracious. They allowed me to use the chipping green and putting green while waiting and they waived charges after I got to use the practice range for a while before having to head out for work. For someone who has not played in years, it really made me feel comfortable going back to a golf course again. Facility and course look beautiful. I can't wait to play this course!

Challenging golf course, not the best choice for beginners. Always well kept, usually a good pace as well.
If you only have time for a quick warm-up, spend it on the putting green..
Otherwise you'll spend half your round walking from end to end of the green, with your hand held up in the air, saying "I barely even hit that!" & looking like an idiot.

So much fun. Really challenging course with an amazing layout. Great range. I only got to play the front 9 cause of how busy it was on a Saturday afternoon. Not an easy hole on the front. I heard the back is really beautiful.
Stopped in the remodeled bar/restaurant before I left. Servers/bartenders were great. I had the bar 19 wings and a flying dog snake dog IPA. SO GOOD!

This is my third year as a member and Worthington Manor golf club has more than exceeded my expectations. The golf course is always in excellent condition, the entire staff are always friendly, professional and accommodating. Details like carts are always lined up and ready to go, 10 minute tee times, new batch of ranges balls twice a year are just some of the things that makes WMGC a premium golf course.

Staff was friendly. Course was challenging with several blind shots. Overall course condition was ok, not great. We did play cart part only which made for some very long walks from the path to our balls. Lots of fairways divots and greens were aerated 2 weeks ago and just ok. Food staff was also very nice. No way to tell distances in the fairway as we didnβt see any sprinkler heads with any distances, so you must bring your own gps. Also we couldnβt find the white tee box on 18 so we played the gold which was really unusual.

Two carts allowed per round. Staff seemed to think it is OK to put a stranger in your cart and not to social distance . Told me that we all stood together (we don't) on the T box anyway.

The golf course was beautiful but I was very disappointed by a couple things. 1) The length of our round was ridiculous. This was because the allowed walkers on Memorial Day. We were waiting all day and by the 2nd hole, the next group was at our T-box waiting. 2) This was my 1st time playing the course and I like to keep my score card as memories of the trip. There were none available.

Really nice track here in a great setting, certainly one of those pure golf experiences. The course is quite hilly and features a good amount of blind shots too, but if you know your way around a little bit it is actually quite playable.

Above average difficulty with elevation on almost every hole. Front nine is more challenging especially from the tips. Course is in excellent shape- the greens fairways and tee boxes. Not for beginners.

The staff at Worthington Manor is amazing and they care about their community! I highly recommend going there for a cold beer and amazing meal, they were fast, friendly and the view is amazing! They even have a three tiered deck out back facing the golf course, can't wait for that to open! The golf course is beautiful too, we had a wonderful experience here and will be going back for more!

Outstanding and challenging course. Friendly staff. Very competitive price. The carts had course GPS, which kept things moving along well. When the 4 some in front of us was falling behind the pace, someone from the course asked the to pick it up, which they did. Looking forward to playing that course again.
