XPF offers a variety of work outs early in the morning, mid-day and in the evenings on weekdays. The work outs are balanced and appropriately challenging. They teach independence and self-sufficiency in the gym. The staff are welcoming as is the community of gym-goers.

Where do I begin? I started coming to XPF for strength training. I was already bouncing around at other studios and while they all were pretty good, there was something about XPF that I had not yet experienced anywhere else. Community. Even in my first class I was encouraged by my instructor, Ed, and others as well. I was still bouncing around at other studios for a while, but after visiting XPF periodically, I quickly realized I didn’t want to go anywhere else. I love that the workouts are consistent throughout the month and I am able to really track my progress. The music is *chef’s kiss* and the energy is just DAMN GOOD. I love that I am supporting a black owned business and even still, everyone is different. It’s so diverse. There is something for everyone. Don’t walk, RUN to XPF! You won’t regret it.

I've been to my share of fitness studios and classes, but XPF truly stands out! The classes are challenging in the best way, and each trainer brings such great energy and motivation. This is hands down the best option in Fells Point! I'd even say the best in Baltimore, its worth the drive! I've worked with other trainers before and Patrick is the best. He's super knowledgeable! He's got a real sound understanding of how everything works and is connected.

I was having trouble with my shoulder. He was spot on when he recommended getting further diagnosis. The MRI I had done with the specialist physician showed I had torn both shoulders.

Patrick even helped me recover through the post surgery period. I feel most trainers aren't knowledgeable enough for post surgery exercise.

The exercises Patrick recommended is exactly what my team of Physical Therapists started me on. Patrick made sure I had overall good fitness while my therapists focused on my left shoulder. The work Patrick had me do on my right shoulder helped so much the surgeon noted I didn't need a second surgery!

XPF is more than a gym. XPF changed my life because it's a training program that incorporates strength, cardio, flexibility, balance, and physical therapy to transform mental and physical fitness. XPF offers challenging workouts in a supportive environment. The focus of the gym is improving your form and training so that your body will be able to gracefully age and still maintain functionality. Since I have been going to the gym, my physical health has been transformed and my mental health has never been better. I have thought about moving from Baltimore numerous times, but do not because I would be sad to leave his gym. The trainers are top notch! Thanks Patrick, Chinara, and Steve! The people that come to the gym are also amazing! I always leave refreshed and with a smile. I've never had so much fun working out in my entire life. I go as many times a week as I can.

Dance 2 Fitness with Chinara is an amazing class. She has created an atmosphere where all are welcome. This review is long overdue. It’s been a few weeks since I finished my 6-Week package and I’m in my house right now still doing the same routines that I learned from the professionals at XPF.
You want to know: “Does it work?” The answer is yes, as long as you use their knowledge and not just expect that going to a class once a week is going to transform your body and health.
The trainers and teachers are friendly, supportive, and want you to succeed!

I don't usually write reviews, but XPF is the best fitness experience I've ever had. The classes and the training have been amazing and every time I'm there, the studio is spotless and very welcoming. Their options for classes and/or training are flexible and plentiful. Patrick, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable and really cares-- he has expertly helped me work through injuries and build strength and stability. I feel better and stronger since I've been going to XPF and I can't recommend it more highly. For anyone who is looking to get in shape, build strength and endurance, learn good form and balance to protect/prevent injury, or just to get more active, this place is the best

Best gym in Baltimore! The best part of XPF is the personalization. The trainers are knowledgeable, supportive, and encouraging.

When I joined, I wasn't sure if I could do it. I told myself to try it for a month... seven months later, I've lost weight, gained muscle and I'm happy I found XPF Studio. I've been to larger gyms around Baltimore, which don't compare to my XPF experience. 

The classes are challenging but fun. The trainers are always willing to explain and modify an exercise without making you feel bad.

Personal training with Patrick never disappoints. He tailors my sessions to my level, provides nutritional advice, and, at times, feels like my therapist.

Great mixture of classes and great trainers. I have been a member for over a year, and still enjoy the classes that change monthly. They also add in some challenges like "March Madness" where members were placed on teams and got points for attending classes, which ended in a hosted happy hour near the gym and their yearly holiday party!

XPF is my favorite studio in the city to get a great workout in! Whether it’s X Over-Ignite, Pure Strength or Metabolic Burn I am always challenged and pushed to the next level. I have done personal training with Patrick (owner) since August 2021. I started here coming off a long recovery period from surgery and Patrick worked with me to provide a training regimen that would ease me back into training. After that time period ended we started to focus on my training goals. I have always had limitations when training and consequently avoided them but Patrick has consistently evolved our training plan to accommodate my limitations without sacrificing results.

XPF is a great studio and offers high value for any fitness level and goals. Patrick trains holistically so don’t expect to get away with avoiding mobility and stretching but it is absolutely worth it and will help safely and effectively reach your goals!!

Patrick is also just a great person to train with he is very kind and spends a lot of time making sure you are getting the best experience. I cannot recommend XPF enough.

I booked a group fitness class for an organization I run thinking it would be similar to other group fitness classes I have taken throughout the years. However, the staff at XPF studio are incredibly skilled at personalizing your experience and providing one-to-one feedback. Patrick is not only knowledgeable, but also extremely motivating. The facility is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. This was the best workout I have had in a long time (and I used to be a fitness instructor!). I am looking forward to returning.

I've been training with Patrick Furlow for over a decade and can't recommend him and the XPF system enough. As I've aged and experienced various levels of fitness, Patrick has modified exercises that meet me exactly where I am. He understands how "powering through" can be beneficial when working through mental discipline, but also how it can damage the nervous system if the body hasn't properly recovered. XPF is more concerned with your fitness and wellness than whether or not you have a six pack. If you want someone who is passionately invested in understanding how YOUR unique body works and building a fitness plan special for you, this is your place. He, Chinara, and the whole staff are also just really great humans.

If you want to build strength, balance, and endurance, while healing injuries and increasing flexibility, this is your place. The classes are smalll with plenty of variety, and trainers correct form throughout. The XPF environment is upbeat and friendly! I've never been a gym person, now I look forward to working out with neighbors who are becoming new friends. And you can't beat the walking commute from Upper Fells Point and Fells, Hopkins, etc. No excuse when it's 2 blocks away from home! Come visit :-)

Dropped in here for what I thought was going to be a group fitness HIIT class, and to my surprise it was an open gym day, and ended up getting basically a one-on-one strength and conditioning class from a super knowledgeable trainer. A little bit of crossfit, turf work, kettles, body weight and cardio. Turned out to be an insane workout, and very impressed with the facilities, and the care from the staff. I'm just visiting Baltimore, but would recommend this gym to anyone.

I love XPF! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and has helped get my 40-year-old self back into shape.

I train with Steve, a personal trainer, and attend four classes a week; I’m working on getting that 5th one in and have seen great results. We work on endurance, strength, flexibility, and stability with a wide variety of exercises to keep things interesting. I have learned so much about my body since I’ve been there; it’s truly something.

On top of that, the clientele is amazing, which adds to an overall feeling of community. Stop by and train with us, you won’t be disappointed!

I highly recommend this gym! Patrick is super knowledgeable and helped whip me back into shape while spending the summer in Baltimore. I attended personal training with Patrick and 2-3 classes each week. The gym feels like a community and Patrick goes above and beyond as a trainer. Small training studio without any cardio machines but great classes that focus on different training needs (strength, endurance, flexibility). Patrick is a great trainer who is knowledgeable and motivating. Not a studio to go see and be seen, but a studio to go to if you want to get in the best shape you can away from the big box gym.

I LOVE this gym! We are new to the area, and have been attending this gym since August. Honestly, they have best work outs! I have been a member of several gyms, including multiple CrossFit boxes and yoga studios. I have participated in classes and on my own free weights. I feel like Patrick (XPF creator) has created a regiment that is challenging, but doesn't intend to cause injury or harm. He helps you to meet your full potential, and if you have injuries or sore areas, he helps to target those areas in stretching, foam rolling, and movement changes. I almost feel like I have a trainer and a physical therapist at the same time. All the trainers there are kind, helpful, and highly encouraging, and I have enjoyed every class.

There are many options for people who are 100% new to working out and those that have a lot of experience. Classes such as Conditioning, which is a Prime workout, uses a lot of body weight and one arm/leg movements to strengthen your core and keep your body even. Metabolic Burn (Ignite) has a more circuit training aspect with intermittent cardio. Those who attend are regulars, and come as often as we do. I love it and honestly cannot get enough. XPF has a ton of different class times, as well as Yoga and Dance2Fitness classes. All classes have a group limit, and it is usually small. There are also options for Small Group classes, which is an even smaller class size where often the trainer can spend more time with you. I believe he even has 1 on 1 options as well. Honestly, if you are on the fence about this gym, trial it for a month (I think it's still $59 for the first month) and you will be hooked. I wish his program can follow me around everywhere I go!
