From childhood to young adulthood I studied martial arts. To say it is an integral part of who I am today would be an understatement; I learned more than self-defense, I learned respect, discipline, and confidence, just to name a few things. I also made lifelong friends. That's why I decided my son would benefit from Karate. Choosing 5 Dragons was easy once I learned about their principle beliefs and expectations. Karate is not a hobby or a pastime, it's a way of life. I'm thrilled to have found a school that I know is just as invested in my son/their students as my instructors were when I was a student.

My son obtained valuable lessons and support from Sensei Hicks and his crew over the last 7 years. He obtained his junior black belt and continues to attend as he eventually goes for his adult black belt. He loves being with the other students and even helping younger students. Sensei creates a wonderful community and a safe environment with strong but realistic expectations and goals for youth and adults.

Been hear since 6th grade, and although it gets tough. In the end it was probably one of the best decisions to stay around. I would recommend it for anyone who is interested in making them selves a better person.
