After a year long battle with breast cancer I had won the war, but was now at at rock bottom in terms of fitness. I wanted to have some control over my body again, and was looking for someone to help me figure out where to start and how to get where I wanted to be. Enter Alicia. She was kind, encouraging, and was able to support my fitness while recognizing the ebbs and flows of my fatigue. I have now been attending for almost 4 months have have seen significant improvements in my muscle mass, stamina and self-confidence. I started out in personal training and moved to semi-private group sessions. I cannot recommend A Healthy Balance and Alicia enough.

I have only been going to A Healthy Balance for a few weeks, but I can already tell it is exactly what I need. Between the trainer, Alicia, who is basically sunshine personified, and everyone attending the classes, it has been such a positive and welcoming experience so far. The personalized workouts are excellent and my running plan is keeping me more on track than I have ever been. I am very thankful I found this place and am confident I'll be a client for a very long time.

I’ve never been someone who could keep a gym routine going and wasted a lot of money on gym memberships - but I’ve been going to A Healthy Balance for personal training with Alicia and her team for a few years now and love it. It’s really made a difference in my fitness level and strength. It was very noticeable over the last few months while skiing - my body didn’t get as tired and my legs weren’t sore like they normally would have been.
I’ve been recommending AHB to all my friends and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to start or increase their fitness routines!

Starting at A Healthy Balance is one of the best decisions I have made for myself in a long time! The semi private personal training program is challenging, rewarding and fun! It is a non-threatening atmosphere and my workout is tailored for me. I not only have the support of my trainer, but of everyone in the group!

I recently attended a yoga class and that was awesome, too!

Hello owner, what’s the point of leaving me a message to reach out but your stuff never get back to me? I have been calling like every other day! Voicemail full and no response in the text messages.

I booked a class on class pass. Someone texted me saying they can’t accommodate me and will call back for options. A week later, non one reached out to me. I sent 3 follow up messages and 1 phone calls. All went science. Never got my credits back. This is not ok.

Follow up! I tried to call again and their voice if full! Still haven’t get back to me 3 weeks after rejecting me from the class that I booked!

Have been a member for more than 10 years! I like the small group training. I like the options available in the mornings or afternoons.

Rinara's Pilates classes are excellent.
She is kind, pays close attention to her clients, and is truly a great instructor. She makes lots of reminders of important moves and how we breathe. Her classes are motivating and always different!
I have done her classes for a few months now and see wonderful results !

I was new to personal training, really seeking some consistency and Alicia walked me through all of my options with a tremendous amount of patience. She validated my feelings around my health and was completely nonjudgmental. I’m 3+ months into small group training and I could not recommend this team any higher. Becky is phenomenal, incredibly supportive but consistently pushes me. The whole environment is friendly. As a working mom they really accommodate my schedule and that’s huge. Anyone who is considering a personal training gym should absolutely check out A Healthy Balance!

I started working with Alicia 3 months post partum and she has been amazing!!! First, she met with me for a consult and laid out the options for me. I see her twice a week and our sessions have been so helpful during my recovery from a C-section. The gym is clean and parking is easy on nearby streets. I would recommend Alicia to any postpartum mom!!!

I was fortunate to find A Healthy Balance about five months ago now. I was looking for a new trainer and I saw a post on our city's Facebook page mentioning A Healthy Balance. Alicia, the owner returned my email inquiry promptly and that was the start of a new partnership with Alicia. Alicia knows her stuff and is great at reading her clients. Also, she's great about working with your schedule and has set me up to talk to a nutritionist too. The other clients are very welcoming, nice and the space is clean and freshly updated. I have been going to AHB for several years. I have structural problems/issues and Alicia has had the patience to deal with my issues and come up with a plan that works. She is knowledgeable and patient and makes the struggles fun. I would strongly recommend AHB if you want to develop a work out plan that will actually work.

I always used to be terrible at exercising consistently until a friend recommended Alicia to me. I started working with Alicia at AHB in November ‘23 and am really getting into the swing of it. Having accountability is key for me. Alicia guides and motivates through excellent full body strength training workouts (lots of weight/equipment variations to keep things interesting) and I am really noticing the difference already. We are starting to build in other elements at just the right pace. I highly recommend Alicia and AHB! 💪🏼

Anytime anyone on the South Shore is looking for a place to work out, I ALWAYS recommend AHB. It's welcoming, unpretentious, and non intimidating. Semi-private training is the BEST. I've been going to A Healthy Balance for 16 months, and have seen a major overhaul in my health and fitness. When I started meeting with Alicia, I was at my heaviest and my most out-of-shape. Within a few months I had lost some weight, and then once I started doing nutrition with Andrea, the weight came off and the muscle started packing on. I started run coaching with Alicia and I strength trained with Becky. In just 10 months I lost 30 lbs and 5% body fat. I've never looked or felt better! I couldn't recommend this place more!

Oh, and Nicole gives the BEST massages.

After a year and a half, I've seen some amazing results. Noticeable muscle definition and better race results. Also trained for my first marathon with Alicia and getting ready for number 2 in a week! The amazing massages have also helped :) Starting nutrition soon after seeing some great changes in my husband's diet after he started with Kellie. I started here in 2013 after a lifetime of poor eating. I worked with the nutrition staff and they worked with me despite all my restrictions. They never made me feel ashamed and always worked to help me get to a healthier me. They could not be more supportive. Then I added personal training and bootcamp and I can honestly say that the trainers are extremely supportive and encouraging. I think they have more faith in me than I do. The workouts are always challenging but also fun, I'm frequently laughing during most of my workouts. The staff is amazing and so are the people who go there. It is an entirely judgement free zone and I love my time there.

I love this place and the ladies who run it! I took boot camp classes all winter and lost almost 15 lbs and 7 inches - they kicked my butt, but so worth it and actually really fun. Nicole and Alicia are so knowledgeable, personable, and just great girls. Highly recommended!
