I gave this a 1 star review not for the workout but for my interactions with the new owner. From my experience this place is not safe for trans/nonbinary people.
My first, and only day there the owner, Joe, greeted me. I introduced myself with my name. I then told him my pronouns. It was clear he either didn’t understand or did not care. He said “huh” to me five times before I gave up and asked him to remind me of his name which he paused and seemed hesitant to say. Then I asked for his pronouns. He hesitated for about 30 seconds saying “ummm… uh…” then said “I don’t do pronouns.” When I gave him some options he quickly said “he/him” and then went to introduce me to the person who would be my trainer by using “she/her” pronouns for me. He then used she/her for me for the rest of the time even though he heard me again tell the trainer my pronouns.
I did a session with the trainer, which was great, however the interaction with the owner soured my experience. I kept wondering if I was safe there.
I have had several email exchanges with Joe. I wrote a well thought out email that shared my experience and offered to do a professional sensitivity training for them. I train small businesses on how to work with gender diverse people.
Joe has not fully taken responsibility, apologized or taken me up on the training. Instead he responded by putting it back on me stating “Our team made every effort to welcome and engage with you during your visit” as if that fixes his blatant disrespect of who I am and my pronouns. He also stated in his email “mutual respect is essential for maintaining a positive and safe environment for everyone in our community — members and staff alike.” It was clear he responded poorly to the respectful way I asked him to engage. He then stated he would be happy to cancel my membership if I wanted.
When I noted in my response that he did not acknowledge or take responsibility for his actions, instead, he replied with “ I was personally trying very hard to make you feel welcomed and included, and I genuinely regret that it didn’t feel that way for you.” And then went on to say he witnessed me having a “strong” session and how well the trainer focused on each person.
I asked for my account to be put on pause until a training is complete whether with me or someone else qualified to do a training for them and asked that I not be charged for the membership fee when starting back up. In a roundabout way he said he couldn’t guarantee that the membership fee would be waived if I start back up.
A member of the community who attends this gym talked with him. He told this person that he would not do a training with me because of “how I approached the subject.” I couldn’t have been kinder while being direct. The person speaking to him said he continued to use “she/her” for me even after they corrected him. I don’t even care if he does the training with me, but to say he’s not doing it because of my approach further confirmed his inability to take accountability for his behaviors.
This seems like a great gym with great options and feels affordable to me. However, I will not be attending until the owner takes responsibility by taking a training on how to respect and affirm trans individuals. Despite the fact that this gym advertises that it is a safe space for everyone, my interactions and conversations with the owner have shown me otherwise.
It is unfortunate that trans people have to decide between health and safety.

AFBBC Restart Challenge has been great for me. I had work-life changes happen and I was struggling getting workouts in and my diet was terrible. Coaches are supportive and knowledgeable about nutrition, High protein diet and make challenging but impactful workouts every day. AFBBC is an encouraging and inspiring membership.

FBBC Acton has easily been the biggest contributor to the increase in my health and wellness! I'm over 100 sessions in and I can't think of a time I've ever noticed a repeat in the workouts. Fit body changed my life. I went in overweight and out of shape. Slowly but surely I gained muscle, strength, endurance and lost weight. I can lift heavier than I ever thought I could, and do things (box jumps!) I never dreamed of. The workouts are what you make of them but they are always different. I love going and so bummed when I have to miss class. It’s an incredibly friendly and supportive community with great trainers. It’s a bit pricey but more than worth it!

I have been with the Fit Body Bootcamp for almost two and a half years and I go there six days a week because it's so amazing. If I am in town, I never skip a day. Started at AFBBC in August 2023 for their 8 week challenge and I didn't even know where they were located! The facility was recommended by a friend and I jumped in and haven't looked back. The facility is clean, the owner is fantastic as are all of the coaches. I love it for the community, the classes are 30 minutes so you are in and out quickly. The workouts are never the same and always challenging at every level. The nutrition support is is second to none as is the accountability and everyone is family. I travel 25 minutes to this studio because I love everyone and everything about Acton Fit Body Bootcamp! They keep growing and always have a different monthly challenge to keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. OH and we have monthly Spirit Day contests with prizes too! If you haven't stopped by and tried a class you are missing out!

This place is very special because of the owners, the trainers, the program and the other members. Working out is fun, low key, supportive and customized to your pace. There are people of all ages and levels and everyone is there cheering each other on and working at whatever pace is right for them that day. The times are convenient, booking is convenient. I feel very lucky to have found it and while I may never be a gym rat, I keep going back because of the way being there makes me feel.

Convenient, quick workout for everyone! As someone in my mid 40s I was finding it hard to find the time to get a work out in amidst my busy schedule. FBBC has been a game changer for me. Easy to fit in to my life and results have been great. There are wide range of exercise abilities in the class and each person can work out at their own pace. Encouragement is given in a positive manner. Just sign up for the classes or opt in for a bit extra with small group training and nutrition coaching.

I wish I could give 0 stars. My wife visited there to ask about the program and she was judged and insulted for no apparent reason by one of coaches (Sergey).
All my wife did was to explain her health goals and asked questions about programs offered but Sergey went on to insult her and her family’s life choices for no reason.
My wife did show up without appointment but he could have simply said to come back with an appointment. There was no need to treat her like this.
If this is how they treat new customers, clearly they don’t care about their customers and members.
As residents of the town we wanted to support the local business but Sergey made it clear that Fit Body doesn’t need our business.

I tried out this gym for a 6 week challenge (3 days a week) back in March 2021, and couldnt stop going when it was done. Its the Best gym and gym family I have ever been a part of. I now go 4-5 days a week because it helps me mentally too. Im a Mom of 2 littles, and i work full time. But classes are SO quick, and if you put in the effort, it WORKS! Absolute BEST staff, never the same work out, and its always over before you know what hit you!

I have been a client at Acton Fit Body Boot Camp for 1.5yrs. The owner and trainers are focused on safety and progress, including nutrition. As an aging person, who would prefer not to have to workout, the reality is, it is essential to remain fit, and healthy especially because of aging. I love that the classes are 30mins for HIIT and 45mins for strength fitness classes - enough to have results, but also not too long that it causes burnout. I give them 5 out of 5 stars.

I am so grateful I gave this gym a try. I am constantly challenged by the workouts, but also constantly amazed at what I have been able to accomplish. My levels of strength and fitness have improved tremendously since I started coming to FBBC Acton; especially with the addition of nutrition coaching and strength training. Joined the gym as a refresh for my health and of course like anyone else, Getting there is the biggest battle.
Fast forward to 6 months and I can not miss a day without feeling like I missed a crucial part of my day.
I have an acl reconstruction and all the work outs are catered and modified if needed. Local to acton? Stop your search! No other local gym has the personality and realistic group of trainers. Can we add one of the best nutritionist I’ve personally worked with!

I've been going to Fit Body Boot Camp in Acton since January 2020, and it's been pretty awesome. The owners, Sergey Meller Fbbc and Kendra, and the trainers Andrew and Megan are all really amazing; supportive, helpful, friendly, motivating, and so caring. When they closed in March 2020 for the pandemic I cried....then they started providing recorded workouts, then zoom workouts, then re-opened with a new safe format. Sergey has invested a lot of time and money into making this place safe for us--you have your own equipment and your own space, and I do feel safe working out there. I am working with Andrew on my nutrition to reach my fat loss goals and have never been thia motivated. Very highly recommend!

It's hard to express with words just how much I love Acton Fit Body Boot Camp. I joined in 2019 as one of their first members (literally participated in the first, 5:30am class on Day 1 of their opening) and have been a loyal and loving member ever since. I joined as part of a 6-week trial and was easily convinced to sign up for the long-term based on my great experience. I am so thankful for this gym, for the owners, and for their staff of coaches. The location is convenient, plenty of parking available, and the 30-minute high intensity interval training workout is attainable and realistic to fit into my day, multiple times per week. This gym has done everything to remain a safe and healthy place to stay active and work on my physical and emotional wellness during the pandemic. Above all else, I was pregnant in 2020 and the coaches worked closely with me to help me modify throughout my whole pregnancy, until 37 weeks pregnant (baby arrived a week later!). The coaches MORE than helped me achieve my goals to remain fit during pregnancy, whether we were working out in our homes via Zoom, outside, or back inside the gym where they've done everything they can to make us feel comfortable and safe, limiting class sizes, purchasing more equipment so we don't need to share, and installing partitions. Come and join us and try a class - you'll be glad you did!

I've been attending classes for over a year now. I've never been as consistent or committed to a gym before. The classes are a quick 30 min, the trainers are all amazing and friendly. Everyone is supportive but you have to put in the work too! I've gained muscle and feel the strongest I've ever been. I've been a member of this gym for about 1.5 years. 1 year of it has been during pandemic. And I have to say that I've never been so impressed by a business's ability to adapt and find innovatie ways to make its customers/members a priority. Sergey (the owner) is fully committed to all of us. He is truly on call to answer all questions and happily connects. What I love about this gym is that it truly does feel like your Fit Family. The members are so kind and encouraging and the coaches set an atmosphere of fun, hard work and inclusivity. I love the daily variety of workouts. And there are even Zoom workouts throughout the day for those who either find it more convenient or aren't quite ready for the gym. Though, Sergey has made the gym one of the safest places to be, with UV Lights, air scrubbers, improved air flow, and air filters that filter out viruses. It's probably safer than most of our homes! But besides all that, I love the workouts. They vary daily (so I'm NEVER bored), and I love the mix of weights/cardio. After every work out, even 1.5 years into this, I always say...."Wooo! that was tough" - meaning I got an awesome workout. The workouts are designed to meet you where you are: each person can go as hard and as fast as fits their body and you never plateau. Can't say enough good things about my gym.

I joined for a six week challenge, and am down 12 pounds so far. I just signed on to join for additional time and am super excited. They offer lots of class times that are convenient for those with different schedules. They are kind, welcoming and cater to those at all different levels of fitness. They also offer modifications for those who need them. They have zoom workouts and in person workouts. It seems they have adapted so well in this pandemic world! I never feel unsafe. Everyone is masked, and all equipment is sanitized by the staff between sessions, and you (double the cleaning!). They are simply wonderful!

The coaches Andrew and Meghan and owner Sergey commit to making the experience fun and truly want their clients feeling their best. 10 months after joining, I feel stronger, healthier and have had a serious boost of confidence. The workouts were good and kept changing. The in studio Acton MA Rt 27 is very small and would get extremely packed. We had to quickly move from station to station during the 30 minute workout class so we would end up sharing sweaty equipment because there was no time to wipe down when changing workout stations - not safe in a pandemic world! The business only has 5 designated parking spots so you would have to do the 5am workout class when other businesses are not yet open so you can pack in their parking spots. I give the 1 star from a health standpoint especially in wake of the pandemic.
