My fitness trainer is truly a renaissance man — passionate, knowledgeable, and inspiring. He specializes in working with clients ages 50–80, and his dedication to fitness for all ages and abilities really shows. Every session is engaging and never dull; he always finds creative ways to challenge and motivate. He’s also extremely knowledgeable about health and nutrition and is happy to share insights if you ask. I’ve learned so much and feel stronger and more confident thanks to his guidance. Through Covid and trips and travel, Mark has been flexible to figure out even remote workout sessions too.

I've been going to Amherst Fitness twice a week for the past six months, working one-on-one with Mark, and I can't say enough about how terrific the experience has been. I'm 71, and although I bicycle and kayak regularly, for most of my adult life I’ve never worked out in a gym with guided instruction. So when I finally decided to take this step, I was full of apprehension and doubt and was extremely self-conscious about my overall fitness, strength, posture, etc. However, as soon as I started working with Mark, all of that quickly disappeared, and despite how physically challenging the program he puts me through is, I find myself really looking forward to each session. Mark and Dan are top notch trainers who are extremely skilled at developing workout programs customized to each individual’s condition, age, learning style, and goals. Six months in, I am experiencing significant gains and feeling stronger and better fit. I plan to continue working out regularly with Mark indefinitely. Bottom line: Without hesitation, I highly recommend Amherst Fitness.

Amherst Fitness trainers Dan and Mark are great! Tailored routines they craft for our specific injuries and the usual diseases are phenomenal. My wife Catherine and I have been weekly clients for 2 years now, just a 70 year old retired couple who initially wanted to stay fit for our daily bike rides. Our balance, endurance, reserve, recovery and range of motion continue to improve with every session!

I have been working with Dan McMenamin for almost two years, working on strength, balance, flexibility and now Tai Chi. I am 83 (photo included). I must say that Dan has become essential in my accomplishing goals I never thought posible. And as a Tai Chi teacher he has brought purpose and grace into my movement within and outside of our lesson. He also shares his vast knowledge of diet and wholistic health. On top of all of this, he likes my quirky sense of humor.

Mark has been great. I have worked with him regularly for 3+ years, and have grown from being cautious around working out to feeling confident and strong. Mark is amazing at customizing each workout, with a long term goals in mind, and over time I got better and stronger, and more confident with the workouts. Working with Mark definitely improved how I navigate through my world. A bonus is Mark's broad knowledge of nutrition, upon taking his advice it has greatly improved my workouts and well being. Mark is great at adapting workouts to the individual, and I highly recommend him as a personal trainer.

Mark has created a very special place that's ideal for anyone looking for a highly personalized experience that goes beyond basic fitness. The space is well-equipped, very clean, and just the right size. Mark and his team are very knowledgeable and able to craft a fitness regimen highly customized to your personal needs. Workouts are always interesting and varied, so boredom is never an issue. It doesn't hurt that Mark himself is a Renaissance guy and always has something interesting to discuss. Workouts can be tough, but he really helps make the time fly!

Mark is exceptional in meeting me where I am- consciously training me through injury and steadily encouraging me to reach for better physical and mental health, especially when I am unmotivated! The real proof is feeling a sustained strength, balance, energy, and centeredness in my body and mind.
I cannot replicate Mark's training on my own. I never tire of the workouts as Mark adapts every session- targeting specific areas through stretching and both strength and cardio training. Mark is a wealth of information who supportively shares ways to realistically shift lifestyle habits that will improve nutrition, exercise, meditation, sleeping, and even breathing!
Cheers and thanks to the energy and individual focus Mark ALWAYS brings to my sessions! It's been worth every penny and muscle ache :)

I have worked out with Mark Stavropulos for ten years or more. He has brought me through multiple surgeries and injuries. It is fair to credit him with keeping me lively, and aging at least slowly. I have seen him work as well with teenagers and every age to my 78 years. His repertoire of exercises exceeds any I have ever experienced. So, too, his expert use of them to met each person, and each need. He brings, to all he does, gentleness, a quiet sense of humor, and a manner that makes being with him a pleasure.

Great place!! Whether you choose a one on one, a boot camp class (hard work but a lot of fun) or yoga. The trainers are knowledgeable and will modify any work out to your limitations. You won’t go wrong. Once you start going you won’t want to stop … Trust me I’ve been going for over 4 yrs.

Amherst Fitness transformed my life. I could never get motivated until I started training here. My experience with Amherst Fitness has been highly positive. Mark has done more for me then any trainer/coach has done for me in the past. The trainers here have various backgrounds, but each of them is friendly, unintimidating, and supportive. The key difference between Amherst Fitness and other gyms is personalization and customization. The trainers here are equally invested in you reaching your goals; which is achieved through a whole-body approach (mind, body, nutrition) to help guide you toward a healthy lifestyle.
