Iโve been apart of this gym for years and really love it. The staff is extremely welcoming and kind, they have personal trainers on hand as well as updated gym equipment and stair masters!! My favorite perk is the sauna for relaxing in after a workout

Mike and Ian are very good trainers. They promote health and are very supportive of members. Speaking for myself, I have never been to a gym before and this is my first one. Very clean. I am now at one month and if it wasnโt for Ian helping me I wouldnโt be continuing and achieving a better and healthier lifestyle.

I absolutely love this gym!! The staff are extremely welcoming and always helpful. The equipment is of high-quality and the gym itself is very open and comfortable to work out in, so it never feels overcrowded. The locker rooms are very spacious as well. The showers are well-maintained and clean. And the community is very encouraging and friendly. Overall, an excellent place to train.

Awesome gym in Beacon Hill!
Beacon Hill Athletic Club is seriously a great spot. The front desk staff is super friendly โ always welcoming and helpful.)
It is really clean, and all the equipment looks new. They've got everything you could need โ dumbbells up to 100 lbs, squat racks, a deadlift platform, and tons of machines and cardio gear. Itโs clear they take good care of the space. Overall it's got a chill, motivating vibe without being overcrowded. Whether you're lifting heavy or just getting in a quick session, itโs an awesome gym to have in the neighborhood.
Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Iโve been a member for 6 years, and itโs been an incredible journey! The trainers are amazingโtheyโve been instrumental in helping me achieve my fitness goals. The vibe here is so friendly and welcoming, making it a pleasure to work out every time. Last year, they updated all the equipment, and everything has been fantastic ever since. Highly recommend this gym to anyone serious about their fitness!

The Beacon Hill location really hits the sweet spot for gyms in downtown Boston. First itโs wicked clean, which is critical for a great gym. There is also something for everyone here, engaged and knowledgeable trainers, friendly front desk folks, powerlifting equipment, body weight equipment and a cardio section. They recently overhauled all the equipment and changed the layout and itโs very well set up. The gym is usually busy but not crowded, people are not lining up for machines and you can usually work in. The sauna and locker rooms are clean and well equipped. All in all this is the perfect gym if you want more than the bare bones of a Planet Fitness or Boston Sports Club and you do not want the boutique vibe of Equinox.

It's a semi medium sized gym. The gym is pretty clean and has little to least crowd. The day pass costs $25 which felt a little overpriced for the size of the gym.

Tried a day pass ($25) for a workout while traveling. Has most major equipments for a good workout. Three squat racks, a deadlift platform, SSB, Hexbar. For a local franchise, city gym, outstanding.
Very clean, well maintained, and welcoming staff.
Best part-nearly empty on early Sunday AM

Love this gym! The staff are always very kind and friendly, along with the space having an overall welcoming atmosphere. The place just received a renovation and is now nicer than ever with new equipment and even flooring. There is a surprising amount of equipment for the area being so small but you rarely feel crowded (unless if you go during peak hours after work). Overall, great place and people!

New update is very nice! Always had friendly staff, great location, and tons of light. New update fixed the only issues I had by replacing worn out equipment, leveling the floor under the free weights, and adjusting the distribution of equipment (used to be not enough weight racks and far more cardio equipment than was being used).
Note that most of the pictures on Google are pre-update. If you are anchoring on specific equipment, it may have been replaced.

I went to this gym for a little over a year. The space is generally fine but the employees are very unhelpful. They will kick you out before closing and yell at you if you try to say you're almost done. They will get after you if you set down weights with anything less than a feather touch even if you're there in the morning, hours before the business downstairs opens. The manager loves to walk around swinging a bat and almost hitting people. Eventually I got fed up and quit... but I just checked my credit card statement and realized they've still been charging me! Absolute incompetence. Do not waste your time here.

The young man working at the 3 Hancock, Boston, MA 02114 Beacon Hill Athletic Club assured me he will be at the location until 4 PM even if the schedule said up to 12 PM. I asked several times if he was sure.
I showed up at 3:05 PM and the location was closed.
Obviously no one picked up the phone and no one tried to contact me to let me know they close earlier.
I hope I can at least get my luggage tomorrow before I have to leave Boston.
I really hope the employe was just incompetent and not a thieve.
Update: I picked up my suitcase. The manager said that he saw my review online. Instead of offering to make things better by some discount or apologizing he barred me from using the locker to change and refused to keep the suitcase for one more day for the usual fee. Way to go! Youโre in the wrong but still the one whoโs mad and unprofessional.
Well, good luck to future customers. Now you know.

Great gym with all the equipment one needs to execute a well-rounded exercise routine. Reasonable price. Great environment in which kindness is encouraged. Very little meat heads and toxic energy. Employees at the front desk are friendly and the trainers help build an inviting environment. Biggest con/lack of professionalism are the bathrooms and lockers. They have been rather dirty which obviously shouldnโt be the case.

Simply put, Zone5 is a great gym. The space is small but mighty, with a little bit over everything in terms of equipment - lots of cardio machines, a couple of racks in the free weight area, and a nice space for doing kettlebell, TRX work and more. I love the HIIT classes - they are definitely challenging and no workout is ever the same so it's doesn't get boring or routine. The team at the gym makes the effort to learn your name and have been nothing but welcoming from day one. It's nice to come to a gym where you are greeted by name and see familiar faces from week to week. Highly recommend!

In just a sentence, exercising at Zone5 is an awesome, fun, and extremely rewarding experience! The staff is very kind and welcoming, setting up a great mood for the challenging HIIT classes ;) Since day one of my membership, I have been greatly enjoying each and every one of the HIIT classes. Mike and the rest of the instructors are super friendly and pleasant to talk to, yet extremely passionate, highly experienced, and committed in making sure that you are getting top-notch training. And the great thing is that the classes run in a weekly cycle focusing on all body areas, from core to lower and upper body, so that they provide a unique, wholistic, and well-structured approach to fitness!! Last but not least, Zone5 provides great facilities and a variety of gym equipment for any fitness level and type! ๐ช๐ผ๐ช๐ผ

Zone 5 is great. The team is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and down to earth. People know your name, and the gym has a community feel. The facility itself is clean and well-equipped - it has everything you need, and none of the gimmicky stuff you don't. People here are respectful, and you won't hear people banging weights noisily or feel creeped on by fellow gym-goers. My experience with personal training has been top-notch - Mike is a seasoned professional who takes a holistic, no-nonsense approach to fitness while being fun and encouraging.

I have been going to ZONE5 since I moved to Boston in 2015. The classes are always exciting and challenging, and the mix of individual and team workouts make workouts accessible for people of all fitness levels. Mike is friendly and responsive, and he really cares about the health and well being of his clients. The other instructors at the gym exude this same sense of care!
I moved out of Beacon Hill a few years ago, yet I still make time to come back to the gym whenever I can. This is a testament to the culture and effectiveness of the gym. I cannot recommend ZONE5 highly enough!

I told myself I would try out a number of gyms before committing when I moved to Boston 3 months ago, but visited Zone5 first and never went anywhere else! I am in the middle of a strenuous training program and was worried it would be foiled when I moved away from Phx. But this gym has the equipment I need to push myself and additional locations for my convenience to reach my goals. The vibe and people there are motivational and friendly, and I look forward to going to the gym daily!

I discovered Zone5 shortly after I moved to Boston, and fell in love with it immediately! The work outs are a challenging mix of strength and cardio, with each class being unique/different. The trainers are professional, give the right amount of guidance, but still make the classes fun. What sets Zone5 apart from its competitors is the community, there is a group of members who come regularly and have created an awesome but non-pretentious culture, and the value, $109/month for access to the facility and unlimited classes is amazing!

I liked their circuit class; the circuits targeted muscle groups and the heart rate monitor allows you to see your heart rate and colories burned during the entire work-out. Their facilities were clean and include a full locker room with sauna and showers. My biggest suggestion would be better air circulation in the group class studio rooms.

[This is for Zone5, not other BHAC locations]
The small size of the gym took some getting used to, but I find the 'community' there to be more congenial and tight-knit than any other gym I've frequented. The training staff are approachable and happy to offer free advice on lifting form, cardio, etc. The patrons are generally great too, no ego or pretense. Cost is competitive for the area.

Was a member at the North Station location for a couple of years, and encountered unpleasantness and frustration at every turn. The staff refused to honor the coupons they gave me upon signing, and the complaint e-mails to their headquarters I sent were never answered. The staff were unhelpful and unfriendly, in general--displaying a surly attitude, especially the Manager of the location. I was never made to feel welcome, and everything was a battle. Finally, I gave notice and quit, and they started dunning me for half a month's fee. Fitcorp, at One Beacon was a far better organization, with helpful and friendly staff.

I used to go here on a daily basis, and returned briefly to check it out after a few years. It's an okay facility - quite small comparatively, but really the only place around that's affordable. It's still pricey, staff is sometimes a bit snobby, and the place isn't the cleanest. However, the location is prime, and it has all the basics - cardio machines, weights, etc.
