You’ll get challenging workouts and a supportive community that’s made getting back into working out fun for me! The coaches Sam and Rob are always right there helping you get the move just right. When I started at Big Day Fitness 8 weeks ago, I was feeling bored and unmotivated with my home gym routine — even though I’d been consistent for almost 13 years. As a 58-year-old woman, I know how important it is to keep lifting heavy and mixing up my workouts, but my home gym equipment is limited and I prefer following a structured program rather than designing my own.

**Best Decision I Could Have Made**
After working out in my basement for a few years since COVID, I had completely lost my motivation. I knew I needed a gym that would hold me accountable and push me to do my best—and Big Day Fitness has been a game changer.
The small workout groups and amazing coaches are what set this gym apart. Rob and Sam push me during every workout while giving me pointers throughout to improve my form and increase my strength. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, but what I appreciate most is that they empower you to make the workout as challenging as you want it to be—it’s really on you to push yourself to your limits.
I love the community here. Everyone supports each other, and I never feel self-conscious. The month-long circuits are particularly great because you can actually see yourself getting stronger as you progress through them.
If you’re looking for a gym that combines expert coaching, a supportive environment, and real results, Big Day Fitness is it. Best decision I could have made.

As soon as entered this gym I felt a relief knowing that it wasn’t going to be the “typical” gym with all the muscle heads and skinny 20 something year olds in barely there outfits. Alot of the members are “older” so I feel at ease. Each session I go to I come out feeling like I accomplished something and feel great about it. The trainers have the best attitudes and are so fun to be around. I love the banter we have whether we talk about the Patriots or about the exercise I am doing. I highly recommend Big Day Fitness

I have been at Big Day Fitness for almost one year and the results are amazing! I have lost 30 pounds and lowered my resting heart rate by 25%.
All the trainers are great. I work most with Rob and he is outstanding. He pushes you to excel and improve each and every day. He listens and adjusts if needed to continue to make the programs fun and challenging while making sure the whole body is balanced.
Exercise is fun again at Big Day! Programs and exercises are well designed. I am building muscle, functional strength, and increasing flexibility and it feels great. I joined at 50 to get back in shape and Big Day has exceeded all expectations and with an ever evolving set of exercises it keeps it fresh, fun, and challenging.

I stumbled across Big Day Fitness in May after realizing I needed to take action. My primary goal was to improve my strength, balance, and agility. I called and spoke with Maria, who couldn’t have been nicer. I went in for an evaluation and began the following day. I have been going twice a week since the end of May, and I am amazed by the staff and myself. The staff (Bobby, Maria, Max, Sam, and Rob) is fantastic. They are kind and supportive. They genuinely listen to you and address your concerns, ensuring your safety while encouraging you to move to the next level. If there is something too difficult or too easy, they modify it for you. When I signed up, I thought I was joining a small gym where I could get stronger. Instead, I found the most incredible, most supportive group of people. On top of all of this, I have already noticed better balance and increased strength, which has me hooked.

Invest in yourself at BDF! I joined just over a year ago by the recommendation of my mom. As a recent college grad with no true path to follow, BDF was my one source of stability. Even though I was not in the target age market, Maria & Bobby welcomed me with open arms. Each week I could count on some friendly faces & a good workout. With time and consistency, I built strength, confidence, and a better relationship with myself. There is an overwhelming sense of community from the moment you walk in the doors! All that to say BDF rocks!! Officially retiring my spot as the youngest BDFer (you're welcome Rob) as I move out of state. I will truly miss my mornings spent at BDF!

Joining Big Day Fitness is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself. If you’re on the fence about joining, I encourage you to try them out.
A few years ago, I was overstressed due to work, felt out of shape, and was having a hard time keeping up with my kids. I knew I needed to make some changes. I wanted to avoid injury and get moving again. I kept hearing good things about Big Day Fitness after they opened and decided to give them a try.
It’s an ideal environment, with knowledgeable coaches training you in a small group setting. It has the feel of a great team practice, with a group stretch and warm up, everyone doing their best, and no egos. People support and respect each other and their goals, across all age ranges.
Coaches will both encourage you to push yourself and also make sure that you’re doing every exercise safely, with proper form. The workouts feature both classic exercises (bench press, squats), and variations on exercises that do an incredible job isolating muscle groups and allowing you to build strength (split squats, shoulder presses). Modifications are encouraged when something is too difficult or if you have mobility issues. It may be a group setting, but you’ll feel like you have a personal trainer by your side. I’ve been working out for 25 years and have never been in a gym environment this good. You’ll leave feeling great about what you’ve accomplished and looking forward to coming back. And that consistency is going to help you reach your goals.
I’ve been able to stick to a consistent schedule for over two years now. I’m in my mid-40s and more than just avoiding injury, I’m actually stronger than I’ve ever been. It feels amazing to exceed what I was able to lift when I was in college. I don’t feel as many aches and pains after working in the yard or around the house as I used to. My overall energy level is higher, my clothes don’t fit like they used to (in a good way!) and my kids are telling me I need to slow down because they can’t keep up.
Time may be undefeated, but Big Day Fitness is helping me age on my terms, and it’s the fountain of youth as far as I’m concerned.

Big Day Fitness is the best things to come into my life recently. I saw a video of Bobby on Facebook and decided to go and meet him and see the gym. I drive by Big Day Fitness every morning on my way to and from work. I had very specific things I wanted to get out of my next gym. I did not want a lot of running or Burpee‘s and I wanted a good workout that would make me sweat, was convenient and had a schedule that worked with my own. I found all these things and many more. I have always loved working out in a group setting. I did a boot camp for many years when I lived west of Boston. When I moved to Scituate, I could not find anything that compared. The minute I walked into Big Day Fitness. I knew I was where I was meant to be. The most amazing part of the entire experience is the trainers. They keep an eye on you. They care about you. They get to know you. They identify your strengths and weaknesses and give you positive feedback continuously. If you are not using correct form, they will correct you. They don’t want you to get hurt. The trainers work with you until you get the movement right. Other gyms the trainers don’t have the time to wait and see if you made the correction- they move on. Most class, are composed of six people. A bigger class might have two groups of 6. At any given time you have four to six trainers watching. It’s amazing.
The other part of the class I love is spending the first few minutes using a foam roller and then arming up. There aren’t many gyms that worry about your warm-up. They expect you to take care of it and if you don’t, you don’t. I love the first 10 minutes of class when we warm up together a circle.
I am so impressed with the level of quality in each trainer. They take the time to get to know you and know your strengths and weaknesses. When I started the gym, I was in physical therapy for tennis elbow. I wanted to get back to exercising. Bobby spoke with my physical therapist and made sure he understood what I couldn’t and could not do. On my first day every trainer asked me how I felt. Never once did they pressure me into doing something I didn’t feel confident doing. I have been going now for five weeks and I can honestly say it every session someone has checked in with me multiple times to make sure I am ok. There are even times the give me an alternate exercise bc they don’t want me doing the one planned.
I can’t begin to tell you how impressed I am with Big Day Fitness. If you are any a place to work out, you want to feel part of a group, and you want trainers who care about you, definitely go meet with Bobby and check it out. I’m sure you will be as impressed as I am.
Oh and don’t even get me started on the correspondence and great recipes from Maria!

This is a great new gym with good managers and trainers! It’s a cheerful place which is sensitive to the needs of various ages, sore knees and shoulders and personal fitness objectives. Recommend it to anyone looking to tune up the old body!

I’ve been a member of Big Day Fitness now for over a year. I’ve always been active all through my life, but I found in the past few years It’s become harder to self motivate. I may mention I’m currently 78 years old. My son started taking boxing lessons from Bobby and I started looking around and thought I’d try it. Well it was one of the best things I’ve done for myself. All of the trainers are very attentive. It’s not one size fits all they’ll adapt the exercises to my limitations.
I definitely would not have the physical capabilities I have now if it hadn’t been for Big Day Fitness. My sincere, thanks to the staff and especially Bobby And Maria.

After five years of doing CrossFit, I realized it just wasn’t the right long-term fit for me. In September, I found Big Day Fitness—and I’m so glad I did. Their small group training sessions are thoughtfully structured with a full-body strength workout, proper warmups and stretching, and a choice of cardio to finish. The atmosphere is positive and supportive, and the coaches are both kind and genuinely encouraging.
After my first six weeks at Big Day, I had a serious accident and severed a tendon in my foot, which required surgery. I couldn’t bear weight for six weeks and then spent another six in a boot. Despite being unable to attend in person, the coaches stayed in touch—checking in regularly and even sending me workouts I could do from home that didn’t require standing. That level of care and connection is rare.
At 58, this injury has been humbling, but Big Day Fitness has helped me stay motivated and hopeful through recovery. Whether you’re looking to build strength, maintain consistency, or just find a community that really cares, I can’t recommend Big Day Fitness enough.

I have been a member at Big Day Fitness for a month now, and I am very pleased! Honestly, in the beginning, the workouts were quite challenging for me, however, Julia and Rob have been the two instructors that I have attended classes with, and both of them have been very encouraging, professional, knowledgeable, and showed true interest in my well-being and my progress. There is great communication amongst the staff, and they are well versed in each person’s situation. In my initial consult session with Maria, I shared with her that I suffered a neck injury years ago, and I have compromised movement when it comes to strenuous activity with my neck. Maria noted that, and every time I come into the gym, they are prepared with alternate exercises for me each time the workout involves the neck. Their personal instruction is caring, yet low key, not drawing attention to my specific situation.
Each workout is a full body workout, and the staff routinely changes it, so as to keep it fresh and interesting, targeting various muscle groups.
I am very happy with the progress I have made in a month, and I am looking forward to my second month of improvement! Thank you, Big Day Fitness!

At this point in my 50+ years, I have participated in several different ways to exercise my body. Strengthening muscles is key and this type of functional training has become my favorite way to do just that. There are no machines that are expected to fit all shapes and sizes which I like because I can simply focus on the exercise itself. Since proper form is critical for success, I really like the small group aspect here because my trainer is readily accessible if needed. If you have taken time off or just want to make a change to your routine, I recommend trying BIG DAY FITNESS

I joined Big Day Fitness in Norwell with some encouragement from a friend, and boy am I glad I did! I love that the classes are small, so the trainers can easily provide assistance or guidance if needed. You can book online so it’s super convenient. Though be aware rescheduling or cancelling must be done at least 12 hours prior to the time of your class/appointment, or you’ll incur a fee/still be charged. For me personally, I have found the hardest part to exercise is simply starting. So I actually kind of like their cancellation policy because it requires me to stick to a schedule.

Big Day Fitness has gotten me back into strength training!! I feel so comfortable there and know that I won’t get injured as the trainers are constantly watching everyone and adjusting things as needed! I found Big Day Fitness through a patient recommendation and joined up in the fall after meeting the owners (Bobby & Maria) - who are such good people! I never thought I would enjoy working out in a small group but I was surprised to find that great people make for healthy distractions during workouts. Since the fall, I’ve noticed my mood is better and my energy levels are way higher. I cannot recommend Big Day Fitness enough! The trainers here truly go above and beyond in terms of support, encouragement, and expertise. Every workout is different, focusing on functional training that not only builds strength but also helps alleviate the aches and pains that come with being in my 40s.
Prior to starting at BDF, I worked out the same way I did in my 20's and I struggled with stiffness and lower back pain. Thanks to BDF's well-structured sessions and balance-focused exercises, I feel stronger, more flexible, and pain-free. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and it is clear the staff at BDF genuinely care about your progress and push you in the best way possible.

I started coming to big day fitness 6 months postpartum to get back into shape and rebuild my lost muscle. Big Day Fitness is a great spot if you want personalized fitness and training. The staff have been amazing in helping me get back into my workouts after a back injury. They take such care in making sure each exercise is appropriate for what I can or cannot do. I stopped going to the gym for a few weeks due to back pain but quickly realized it was better if I DID go as they helped me stretch, do PT exercises…whatever I needed. Julia even made me a special magnesium spray for my back pain. Each trainer there is thoughtful and knowledgable. Big Day Fitness is the best at personal training, highly recommend!

I used to go to large exercise classes with no instruction. I like the small classes at Big Day Fitness because you can always ask for help if you aren’t sure you are doing the exercise correctly. It can be intimidating walking into a new place with new people and new fitness routines. But not at Big Day fitness. I joined BDF a little over 6 months ago and love training here. The trainers ensure that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries and the workouts are well planned. My experience at Big Day has been nothing short of wonderful. I was in a rut with my routines and appreciate the accountability and ease at which I have been able to incorporate into my schedule- the flexibility is great. For years I was that person at the gym with no structured routine and would work out aimlessly until I was bored enough to retire to the sauna. I was approaching my 50th birthday and knew that I needed more to stay healthy and become more fit when a friend suggested Big Day Fitness. I told them I didn't want an old man's YMCA studio class or some hard core Cross Fit class with amped up, suburban navy seals. She convinced me to give it a try and that was five months and 18 lbs. ago. The classes vary daily and I love the 10 minutes of high intensity boxing to wrap up the class. The owners and staff at BDF are incredible and are in tune with your goals and offer exercise options for when you have an injury or muscle tweak. I can truly say this is the only workout class I have ever looked forward to going to each morning. If you are sick of walking around your gym like a workout nomad and want a fun, doable, structured 55 minute workout a few times per week then I strongly urge you to try one class at BDF and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed...unless you are looking for navy seal training.

Getting out the door and to the gym is not easy as a mom of two kids who works full time. But the BDF team (Max, Rob, Bobby and Maria) have been amazing in helping me get back on track and exercising. I’ve been a long distance runner for as long as I can remember, but lately have struggled getting out for a run. At BDF I feel motivated, supported and best of all, after a month I’m seeing results. I started going to the 6 AM small group classes almost 2 years ago, as my wife was already going and thought I might also like to try it. She was right! I have gained strength and gotten in the best shape I’ve been in a couple of decades. I find it much easier to keep up with my three kids, and the endorphins it provides definitely improve my mood. Everybody there is really welcoming and supportive, from the daily workouts, to the fun challenges like the Fenway Spartan race, people helping me raise money for a charity boxing match. Year ago I join Big day fitness.
Maria July and Booby were so great! They keep me motivated and feel confortable, the results within six month were fantastic I improve my performance in my IRONMAN 70.3 but the most important thing is that this year I had a gallbladder removal and knee injury and ROB MAX BOBBY AND MARIA take care of me and my recovery has been nice and smooth. I am sure that with their support I will reach my goals soon!!
I highly recommend them if you want to run, swim or bike faster. OooOr if you come from and injury your recovery will be faster. So glad I find them!!!!

I joined BDF in late April. I was a regular gym goer before Covid, doing 4-5 classes/week (boot camp, yoga, Pilates, muscle)… Then Covid hit and I resorted to lots of walking, got a Peloton bike, and did some Pilates.
Fast forward to 2024. While I still was in decent shape, I knew I had lost lots of muscle and found my balance was not great. Being in my late 60s, I knew I needed to join a gym and get back to lifting weights, or I was going to keep losing muscle.
I joined Big Day because of the small class sizes. My goal was not to lose weight but to gain muscle. The trainers are encouraging, upbeat , and always available to help when needed. Everyone at Big Day has a really positive outlook. I also like the accountability of having to show up once I sign up for a class. After four months, I feel stronger and have noticed a definite improvement in my balance. I couldn’t be any happier with Big Day.

I was an over 60 guy with a typical spare tire and really slowing down. Every time I drove by Big Day Fitness I would see other people like me working out and having fun. Finally I broke down and called to see what was going on. Once I met Bobby and Maria, it was clear that this was no ordinary gym…far from it. I joined Big Day to regain strength and mobility after an illness and prior to knee replacement surgery and it has been a perfect fit! Personal training in a small group setting there is always a knowledgeable trainer to correct my form, offer an alternative or provide encouragement. I was looking for a gym to begin my exercise journey again after some injuries and a long hiatus from the gym. Within four weeks of joining I noticed I was feeling stronger, more balanced, had less daily aches and pains as well as feeling energized and more confident.
I was looking for a smaller gym with personal attention and training. They are able to work with all different levels and abilities.
The team of trainers here are all excellent. Very knowledgeable, always watching, coaching and, in my case, tweaking some of the exercises to work within my limitations and correct on form. My wife and I had been falling steadily behind on exercising. We learned about Big Day Fitness and that it was only a 10 minute drive away, so we decided to check it out. Bob and Maria were very welcoming and listened to what we wanted to achieve. Since then we’ve been attending sessions 2 days a week and have been enjoying it very much. Many of the exercises were unfamiliar to me, but through careful coaching I am getting used to warming up exercises as well as core strengthening. They even have some punching bags to practice boxing moves if that’s something you’re interested in. I’m a mom of 2 little kids under 5 and hadn’t worked out in over 10 years! I was struggling to keep up with the energy of my toddlers finding myself burnt out all the time. I looked up strength training around me and found Big Day Fitness! I was very nervous , since consistency has been a big issue for me.. but I was very pleasantly surprised with this gym once I started. The workouts are well rounded with a small group focus, which makes you feel like you’re a part of a community with similar goal as you. But the best part of the gym are the trainers, they are so welcoming and go with your pace by helping you ease into the workouts. They are always smiling and encouraging you positively. As an avid runner, I value fitness and health. One thing is certain in running, if you don't cross-train with a strength training program, you won't be running at your peak! NOT at my peak is where I found myself when I joined BDF. Insecure about how to lift weights and unsure of my potential, I took it one week at a time, trusting the instruction and encouragement of coaches Maria, Bobby, and Julia. Over the past 6 months I've seen drastic improvement. My running game has returned and even exceeding my expectations. I feel stronger for longer, and I'm seeing that in the gym, too! By taking risks in a safe environment, I've been able to lift more weight and know that I'm doing it all with proper form thanks to the coaches.
All of this was part of my original goal: get strong for running, but the functional benefits are also noticeable. Functional training comes so naturally at BDF I sometimes don't even realize I am strengthening for everyday movements.
I'm grateful for a place like BDF. The other clients are so positive and friendly. Maria and Bobby are genuinely kind people who are experts in their field and make working out fun.

Such an amazing group of trainers, so upbeat and helpful. I hadn’t been to a gym in 10 years and small group personal training was new for me. I am not a fan of group exercise classes where an instructor leads a class (think yoga or zumba) but have always felt somewhat lost in a big gym when left to my own devices. Enter Big Day Fitness - the 55min sessions go by quickly and I always leave smiling knowing I had a good workout. Sessions are at your own pace and modifications made to avoid aggravating prior injuries. Small groups have a family feel and intergym challenges keep keep members motivated (although no pressure to partake or socialize if it isn’t your thing). I’ve been going to Big Day Fitness twice per week for almost a year. I have seen dramatic improvements in my physical health and stress levels. Prior to joining I found that I stiffened up every time I sat down, to the point where it was painful and hard to walk for a bit, even if I sat down for just a couple minutes. That no longer happens! I am flexible and pain free. My stamina also increased dramatically. I ran (ok, participated) in my first 5K race ever just before joining. I love this gym. Having tried my fair share of gym and work out experiences (including group personal training and individual training at other gyms) Big Day Fitness has been by far the best experience. Maria, Bobby, and Julia have created a fun and welcoming environment that feels like a social gathering, or even a tribe! The community of people at BDF come from diverse backgrounds, some athletes, some coming out of PT after an injury, some old, some young. This diverse community aspect of BDF makes for a supportive and encouraging place to be and thanks for the positive social stimuli you push harder, you reach higher, you move faster. I know after only eight weeks, I am stronger, have more endurance, and just mentally feel better. I have never been someone who looks forward to going to the gym. It was more like taking my medicine. But at BDF I actually look forward to going, and I’m sad on the days I don’t get to go. The team creates workouts that keep me interested and even though I’m sweating a ton, I am never looking at the clock, wishing for the time to go faster. I believe this is because Maria, Bobby, and Julia pay attention to each participant answering questions and making modifications as needed. I will be working out here for a long time! I joined Big Day Fitness a little over a year ago and couldn't be happier. I have always been active but after having three babies in five years followed by a major abdominal surgery, I was feeling very weak and lost when it came to fitness. I was nervous to start from square one. When I started at Big Day, I knew I was in the right place. There is an amazing welcoming energy in the gym and not once did I ever feel intimidated or out of place. They met me where I was and made me feel right at home. They have done a great job running the gym in a way that meets everyone at their own level and not making anyone feel left out.
I love the strength training workouts they design each month and I love the small group training. It feels more like one-on-one personal training than a fitness class.
In my past I have run multiple marathons and played competitive sports but I can honestly say that I have never felt stronger than I do right now. Thank you Big Day!

I have working out 1 on 1 with Bobby for over 6 months.
Before we started he met with me to do a complete evaluation on my level of fitness and flexibility. I’m in my late 50’s so I stressed I didn’t want to hurt myself. He took almost 2 hours in the most complete evaluation I have ever done with a trainer.
He is very knowledgeable and always has a well organized work out plan for me. I have gained a ton of strength. And feel he challenges me consistently.

My husband and I have a private personal training session with Bobby every Thursday and we love it! The group classes combine mobility, strength, and cardio to provide a dynamic workout. Maria and Bobby are knowledgable and give genuine feedback and/ or modifications to every workout. Working out at BDF has been so beneficial to my mental and physical health. I would recommend BDF to anyone!

Big Day Fitness has been a wonderful experience for me! Maria and Bobby are the best.They are both so friendly and very educated about exercise and what they do. I go to the 6am class and it is a great start to my day and always puts me in a great mood. They also have Saturday morning classes which I love. Bobby and Maria always change up the exercises and make sure you are working all parts of your body! They start with a warm up and then you go into your small groups for the workout. I love the structure of the class. After the group personal training they also give you a choice of a boxing workout or riding the bike at the end of the class, which are both challenging but really fun! Overall, the class flies by and it is such a great workout with such a great community of people.

The owners and trainers have built a community that supports each member's individual strength goals and meets each member at their own level. From the simple fact that they know the name of every member, to the commaraderie they help foster among members, everyone is welcomed. The classes are fun, frequently changing and reflect the owners'/trainers' knowledge of a full-body approach to strength building. This knowledge is also reflected in the instruction and assistance offered during classes and the exercise modifications that they can quickly engineer as needed.
Throw in the added bonus of optional boxing training (!!) and BDF gets an automatic 5 stars!!

I’ve been going to Big Day for a few months now and it’s been great seeing Bobby and Maria twice a week. Bobby has been a great trainer for me…he listens, assesses, comes up with a plan, puts it to action and continues to monitor. For me, the challenge I brought to Bobby was, how do I change the way I exercise now that I’m in my 40s, so that I stay in good shape/strong, but don’t continue to injure myself using the same exercises I’ve used since my teens. He’s introduced a number of dynamic exercises and routines I’ve never been through, and keeps it all interesting, integrating balance, core, strength and cardio, which has contributed to some really great results already. I highly recommend Big Day to anyone looking to get in shape in a healthy, balanced way.

At 50+ years old I’ve tried to get back into shape many times and inevitably had to stop because I injured myself and/or burned out doing the same heavy weight exercises I did when I was young. I’ve been at Big Day Fitness now for 18 injury free months. The exercises we do help in many other activities outside the gym which allows me to do so much more because of the added mobility, flexibility and strength.
