I initially visited Body & Brain feeling mentally exhausted, stuck, and unmotivated. I hoped Tai Chi might help, but I didn’t expect it to be so life-changing. Barbara and Sholeh welcomed me warmly, and their Tai Chi and yoga classes quickly brought clarity, calm, and fresh energy. I also appreciate the optional tea circle after class, where we relax, share thoughts, and connect with others. Thank you for creating a peaceful, community-oriented atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Where do I begin? I read an article about B&B after hearing about it from my sister in LA. For more info I dialed the Riverwakk # in article. I was welcomed as if I was there in person even though on Zoom from Santa Barbara. I felt quality teaching and attention to my posture and moves with gentle corrections when necessary. Honestly, I was surprised to enjoy a very thorough workout both emotionally and physically. So gentle and mindful, no injuries either! I need this type of workout to keep my energy balanced. B&B is the best and Riverwalk a lovely high quality place to learn.

The place is very clean. Sholeh has a super positive energy that you can feel as soon as you enter. Our Taichi/Qijong class is so welcoming and peaceful. Love our tea time after our class! I had been looking specifically for Qigong/tai chi classes for a while after having done some qigong at a retreat. Body and brain had the classes so I joined on a special, and I am so glad that I did! Body and brain is such a wonderful atmosphere and is open to people of all ages and abilities. I have been to 2 classes so far and each time I have left feeling at peace and relaxed. I am a Class Pass user who becomes member of Body & Brain. As you know I have been exploring many studios nearby. But only this studio stands out for me. I can feel connection with my body. I am always focused on work and family. But seldom concentrate on myself. The practice can help me to listen to myself, calm down and manage stress. Haha. I have been fortunate enough to have discovered the Lawrence Body & Brain Yoga Center. The classes offered have been transformational for me. Specifically, with relaxing my mind and body and increasing energy flow, I have greatly improved healing of my intestinal health.
I highly recommend both the center and amazing instructors. Her expertise and interest for teaching in the soft martial arts is truly evident. As an instructor she encourages me and guides me. She has great passion and awareness for this special practice. When you lead with your heart your mind will follow and she does just that. Luckily, I found Body & Brain near me in Lawrence, MA. After speaking with Sholeh on a Saturday, I immediately signed up for Tai Chi/Qigong classes. The flow/structure of the class is nice with some good movement to get your body warmed up and heart rate up to start, some core work in the middle and guided meditation to close it out.
After class they make a delicious tea and you have the option to sit and reflect on the class and share your experience with everyone. They have a great sense of community here and the owners are so sweet and supportive. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to quiet your mind!

I’m fairly new to the area and had been looking to find a place that offers yoga classes and meet people with similar interests. Not only does Body & Brain offer yoga classes, they offer so much more such as Tai Chi/Qi Gong, and Bowing meditation classes. Sholeh is the best! No matter how busy or stressful my day is, making time for yoga and tai chi is always worth it. I leave feeling so relaxed, calm and stretched. I also like staying for tea when I can and sharing a bit about my experience with the other yogis. It's an intimate atmosphere, good for beginners / intermediate and yogis of all ages. They have mats to borrow for free if you don't have one. For those who are more advanced, they also have yogi trips and added trainings.

Been there at least a few months now. It is a fun journey and experience with the instructors Barbara and Sholeh. They are very insightful and knowledgeable with their practice along with their remarkable mindful energy they present (with their many years of experience and profession, of course).
I have seen improvement in my physical body and also my mental fortitude to keep up with my goals. The instructors have been consistent with my progress, and I am as well. I am still learning and looking forward to their insights and suggestions.

I have observed a few yoga studios. When I walked into Riverwalk Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi I knew it was for me. The warmth in the space was radiant. The colors inside the studio are my favorite colors. Since I joined Riverwalk Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi on 7/23/2021 I have enjoyed every class that I have taken. Barbara and Sholeh are both wonderful instructors. The people I have met here are very warm and caring. I look forward to going to the live classes but know if for some reason I can not attend in person, there are many online classes I can attend. I am so happy I joined.

I really love Body and Brain Yoga at Riverwalk. I felt a very strong connection to yoga and yoga teachers Barbara and Sholeh from the very beginning. I enjoy taking all strengthening, energy , wooden pillow or tai chi classes that are offered throughout the week and weekends. I’ve noticed that I feel very relaxed and energetic after every yoga class. I’ve learned so many tools how to manage better with my emotions and my knees problems seems to be improved after seven years of doing yoga. Taking that first step and registering for a class with Barbara and Sholeh was one of the best things I did for myself this year in 2020. Like many throughout this unprecedented Covid-19 era, I was feeling stressed out, sluggish and had minimal energy (on top of that, I am pregnant)! However, when I began taking classes at Body & Brain, in person, my stress levels instantly when down and my energy went up. The precautions the studio takes are top-notch (masks, tape-marked indications on the ground for distanced mat placement). I feel completely comfortable and relaxed for my in-person classes. I started taking yoga classes at Body and Brain Riverwalk about a year ago. I started with a trial membership and ended up joining after the trial was over. I had taken yoga classes at different studios in the past but never felt the connection I do at Body and Brain. I love the way Sholeh and Barbara make everyone feel welcome, and they are very personable. Due to COVID restrictions earlier this year, a few of the BNB studios joined forces and put together an online schedule. This was a fantastic idea and still continues. Even though the online classes are great to join, there’s nothing like being in the studio and seeing my favorite yoga instructors in person. Thank you Sholeh and Barbara for helping me stick to a yoga routine that has guided me in many ways... physically, mentally and spiritually.

The moment I stepped foot inside the Body & Brain Yoga Studio at the Riverwalk location in Lawrence, I knew there was something special happening there and I wanted a piece of it. The studio was (is) clean and bright...and the people that had just finished a session were full of energy and bubbling over with enthusiasm about class.
The friendliness and kindness of the women running the studio (Sholeh & Barbara) was reflected in their members.
Once I began taking classes, I soon realized that "this was the place for me". From the warmups through all of the stretches, breathing techniques
and relaxation directives, I felt a deeper connection with myself and my surroundings. It's a program that I truly believe is for everyone, no matter what their physical condition.

Body&Brain is a wonderful place to heal and strengthen your mind, body and spirit! It has helped me tremendously on all levels of my well being. Since I became a member, I have increased my physical strength, endurance and balance. In addition, I have learned many techniques that help me manage stressful situations and negative thoughts/emotions.
I appreciate the sense of community and support that Body&Brain offers. The center managers/trainers are genuinely compassionate and helpful and are dedicated to helping members reach their individual goals.
I always feel super relaxed, energized and empowered after completing each class. They are a wonderful combination of strengthening exercise, stretching, balance and relaxation-I highly recommend trying a class!

This is the only exercise routine that I have stuck with in my adult life! I have been a member for over 2 years. I love Body and Brain! Barbara and Sholeh as well as the other members are so welcoming. You come to feel like you are exercising with friends and family. The yoga we do is more like stretching - and you stretch every part of your body each class as well as focus on breathing and being mindful about how you feel. It has done wonders for my anxiety. I sleep better. I generally feel better. And know what to do when my mind and body are getting tense and anxious. So wonderful!

I’ve been coming here for 2 years now and B&B has changed my life in so many ways. When I started I had been retired for several months. I was overweight and depressed. After taking the classes my outlook on life dramatically shifted. I felt rejuvenated. Life had more meaning to me then ever before. My energy level went through the roof and best of all I had found more meaning to my life.
One aspect in-particular that really impressed me was the importance of the body and mind connection. I had tried other yoga places previously but none actually taught exercises that you can do to improve my thinking and provide me with a power to control my emotions.
I can not recommend this experience more.

AMAZING! I have a torn rotator cuff and happened to walk in to Body & Brain about 8 months ago. I met Barbara and she is absolutely excellent at working on my shoulder. After the first time I’ve been hooked. Now I go here either weekly or bi-weekly ever since. Barbara works on my torn shoulder and also tapes it up, making me feel incredible. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the employees are very friendly and helpful. I’m so grateful to GOD that I found this beautiful establishment by “accident “ because it makes my life and my injury so much better and I’m very thankful. They also have classes and seminars and workshops that are all worth checking out!

This studio felt nurturing and safe and fun as soon as I walked in. My husband and I tried out an intro to TaiChi, with Sholeh. We were gently playfully guided through slow body movements and coordinated breathing. We both left noticeably relaxed. I am thinking about becoming a regular.

I am so thankful that I discovered this place! Body and Brain at Riverwalk is a wonderful studio. The instructors are so welcoming and always provide modification options up front so that it is accessible for everyone. This practice has helped tremendously with my physical health and mental well-being. I find that aside from feeling better physically, I am so much calmer because of the focus on being in the moment that is promoted during class. Body and Brain classes are by far the best classes I have come across. It is a full body package that relaxes your body and mind. I suffer from constant back pain and when I take the classes, the pain goes away and I sleep peacefully. It rejuvenates the mind and body. I would recommend it to everyone!!!

This is truly an amazing place. I have joined other yoga studios and they are just average. As soon as you enter here the warmth and genuine kindness is immediately felt. As a nurse I know the importance of keeping our brains active. The program incorporates 3 different types of activity for our entire body. I am a recently retired RN who was looking for a Yoga program that would help restore my body to a healthier state both physically and mentally. Body and Brain has been the answer to meeting this goal. I immediately was welcomed by the owners Sholeh and Barbara. They truly understand the importance of connecting with the members in such a positive caring manner. The yoga studio is relaxing and soothing. The classes are comfortable and never crowded. I did not feel intimidated by being a "beginner". The instructors are mindful of explaining the techniques which is so helpful. I really enjoy the supportive atmosphere and the individual check ins which are so encouraging. The center is tranquil and peaceful. I enjoyed the classes I took , you can feel the peaceful and healing energy flowing. The tea ceremony at the end of the class was the best part when we all sat down and shared our thoughts about the class. As someone going thru chemo it was the best thing I did for myself. I also received a healing energy session which me tremendously the rest of the day.
I highly recommend Bodyand Brain Ricerwalk for any one who is looking for a healing and community based yoga center.

There are so many great things about Body and Brain at Riverwalk! The location is easy to get to. The center is new, clean and very comfortable. The staff is so caring and really takes the time to get to know you. The variety of classes and times makes it convenient to attend every day. My favorite is the early morning classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I always leave a morning class feeling energized, calm and ready for the day ahead. I highly recommend Body and Brain! Not only do they offer classes at the center there are many other wonderful yoga and mindfulness programs to attend throughout the year!

I LOVE this place. LOVE is a strong word and this place has indeed made me stronger. I appreciate all that this facility has done to improve not only my flexibility, but also my state of mind and being. The combination of strength, flexibility, and relaxation training have made my daily outlook brighter. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it.
