I've been going to this pilates studio for the past few years and highly recommend it. They offer a variety of classes (from reformer to jumpboards, mats, and chair) and a range of difficulty levels that I can choose from. The studio is clean and their equipments are maintained well. I like that you get to try the different teaching styles of various instructors at the studio and find what fits you the best.
In particular, Kelly is an amazing instructor! Her classes are incredibly engaging, creative, and challenging in a fun way. She is very perceptive and knowledgeable about anatomy and always keeps me on my toes throughout my sessions with her.

Yelena is so rude and unprofessional. And she barely explains the exercise. And its not the first time she does that. Ive done many classes with Brandon and few with Victoria and both were amazing, friendly and very helpful . Yelena needs to be taught how to treat the customer. We pay a ton of money not to be yelled at or given a bad attitude. She also wasted 10 min of the time of the class to tell us stories about a russian actress. I did not pay to be listening to her non sense stories.

This studio is truly so wonderful and a home-away-from-home in Boston. I've been doing pilates on a reformer regularly for the last few years — at when I moved to Boston gravitated towards this studio for its contemporary offerings.
Whether you're looking for athletic classes that leave you with a burn or classes you can do daily, the instructors at this studio offer great sequencing and a really lovely experience. The other students are super sweet too :)

I am thrilled with my reformer Pilates lessons with Yelena Hindman at Boston Body Pilates Newbury. Yelena was actually referred to me by two other instructors who teach at the studio, after I told them that I was the type of ‘student’ who doesn’t mind working on perfecting a single movement for months, if necessary; that slow and precise, interested me more than fast and unmethodical.
At my first private lesson Yelena had me simply walk back and forth, towards her and away from her, for the first ten minutes, observing my posture and alignment. She pointed out a few things I could work on correcting and explained how I was over/under utilizing certain muscles. Her knowledge of anatomy is clearly outstanding, as I literally felt she could see through me.
Yelena’s teaching style is focused, precise, direct, patient, detailed. She wants your mind to understand and connect to the physical movement, as your body executes.
Yelena is not there to tell you oh what a great job you’ve done! Yelena is there to teach, and to help your mind, breathing and body, understand all facets of any position. A lot is covered in an hour and the pace is focused. I always come out with a wealth of knowledge. My plan is to continue to take private lessons with Yelena until i feel familiar enough with the machine, terminology , positions, flow; and then I look forward to joining her small group classes. I’m in this for the long run; not looking for a quick fix. And I want to progress and build on a solid foundation. In Yelena, I am confident I
have the best guide. She always gives me 1-2 homework assignments to work on in between sessions, and I appreciate this as well. She is not flaky or bubbly; she is serious, solid, thoughtful and an excellent communicator. It is a pure joy to learn with her. Thank you Yelena!

Best classes with Yelena! I have been practicing pilates for 15+ years, and I always learn something new in her class. Attention to details and great corrections—the only way pilates is effective. I wish the studio had Yelena teaching chair classes as well as more advance classes as she did last year. Yelena is definitely one of the best pilates teachers I ever had!

I cannot say enough positive things about this studio, and in particular, the quality of the instructors. I just left Yelena's class and highly recommend her as an instructor. Her depth of knowledge in both pilates and anatomy is incredible; her cues and ability to modify exercises is extremely strong. Having been a student of pilates for ten plus years, I find I still learn something new from her each and every class and credit her with not only refining my technique but strengthening my body. Her professionalism, kindness and personal attention to each student is unparalleled. I particularly appreciate when she draws parallels between pilates and health/wellness in every day life, making my practice even more relevant. Each class is a new challenge and a new adventure! I highly recommend Yelena and Boston Body Pilates!

I had been going to this studio for a long time but over the last year there have been changes in the studio’s quality of training. If you are looking to do classical Pilates this is not the place for you. The studio use to offer a diverse group of instructors; now it’s strictly contemporary Pilates. The studio is beautiful and clean on the inside. The packages are very expensive. The instructors are polite and professional..but most of them aren’t experienced in training. They are very young. There are other studios that offer classical Pilates in the Back Bay.

Horrible first experience with Yelenaa at Boston Body Newbury studios. I’ve taken several Pilates courses before and this instructor was absolutely terrible. Her instructions were not clear at all, she singled me out the whole time, and I felt uncomfortable throughout the class. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TAKING A CLASS WITH YELENAA.

I really enjoy the classes at Boston Body. I learn something new in almost every class I attend. The instructors tend to mix up the class format so it keeps me interested and challenged. The owner and manager are super helpful, and the customer service is on point!

This is hands down the best studio to go to! They have mat, reformer, chair, and barre classes and privates. I have been coming for years on and off and will never go anywhere else. I have increased energy and a better more even mood. I have a really stressful job and coming to pilates at the end of the day is a life savor and something I can actually do.

Felt super comfortable doing their Barre Pilates class on Monday night. I'm not a regular exerciser so I was nervous. The instructor Melissa was super high energy and helped me get through the hour long class. Worth it, I'm going back soon!
