I love BPF for their affordable prices and variety of classes/instructors. This location is spacious and parking is easy. Now they lock the doors when class begins which is nice cuz once some random ppl opened the door during class and stared at us. Two downsides of this location: 1. The layout is sort of too wide so if you’re on the sides it may be harder to see the instructor. 2. Because it’s so spacious, in the summer the one AC doesn’t really cool the whole space lol. I had to get there early to get the pole under the AC. I also like coming here cuz I can get good food after class.

I took a beginner lyra class with Emma and had a positive experience overall. Emma was very informative and supportive throughout the class. However, I struggled with the longer instructions as I found it difficult to keep up. Emma was understanding and happy to offer assistance. One downside was the class size; there were 10 students and only 4 hoops available, which meant limited time for each student to practice the moves and take a video. It would have been helpful to have more time with the hoop to better improve the moves.

I became addicted to the classes here. I could never guess that pole dancing is this much fun to learn. Stacy is a great instructor who is really keen on foundations. Alina is going to correct all of your mistakes and Aimee is the most caring , creative and motivating dance teacher ever.

I loved this class! The instructor, Yana, was great. I appreciated that she gave me personal feedback and took the time to make sure I was on track (unlike a different pole dance studio I went to). The pace of the class was great, and I had so much fun!!! I definitely recommend

I've taken two classes at the Brighton location and it's so fun. Claudia is a great teacher. I enjoy her class. Their website is great for beginners to navigate and understand. I signed up for the classes at my level (beginner) and know what classes I should take to progress.

Update: It has been over a year since I posted my first impression. I really enjoy going to the studio and have improved. There are some teachers that don't suit certain students, so it's good to try out a couple of different classes and find the teacher(s) that work for you.

I’ve always been a little interested in pole fitness. One night I was googling to see what kind of pole classes Boston had to offer just to *check it out*. I wasn’t ready to commit to actually trying it though. After looking at a couple studios, I came across Boston Pole Fitness and they were(are) doing a special for 3 classes for $45. That’s a STEAL! Everything in Boston is so expensive as it is, I felt the special offer was such a bargain for my buck! Especially just to try out pole to see if I like it or not. 3 classes was the perfect amount to get enough of a taste of my new profound hobby.

I took 3x intro to pole classes, each with a different instructor. Maryssa, Alina, and Emma. Each was fantastic. They all made the class feel like a welcoming and supportive environment which was really important to me as I felt vulnerable in this new hobby.

A typical Intro class is structured like: group warm up, then the instructor teaches a few new moves (beginner and do-able moves, but still challenging) and then they take the last 10-15 minutes for everyone to “freestyle” and encourage people to take videos of themselves to see their progression.

After my intro classes, I did take another class, the Climb Clinic, and I had SO MUCH FUN. These pole classes definitely unlock movement I never even dreamed about accomplishing. I feel more confident and accomplished after ever class. I’ve loved all the classes I’ve taken so far, and the instructors. I intend to go back for the foreseeable future.

I wanted to like this pole studio, but it was not my favorite. The layout is awkward if you need to look at the teacher while following the class (even w the mirror) and it's honestly dark and gives a bit of a dingy-feeling even though it seems simple and clean enough. The studio is in a strip of shops in a rugged area of Allston (wouldn’t recommend this place after sun down and the closest T is outdoors and at least a 20min walk past some interesting characters on the street).

The scheduling itself is problematic bc all the classes are supposedly booked but even when I was listed as like #8 on the waitlist, I got a notification at like midnight saying I was off the waitlist. And after reading about the refund policy troubles from earlier reviews, I didn’t want to chance losing money over their scheduling late notice.

The choreo classes were pretty fire but I wouldn’t recommend taking Alina as an instructor- she could use some people skills. She is rude, arrogant, singles students out and it can be difficult to understand her instructions with her accent when she rushes the class. Moreover, when the class was having trouble pinning down the choreo, instead of helping us or slowing down a bit so we could catch up she just kept insulting everyone without giving constructive feedback. There were points where she would just point at someone and outright say “whatever you’re doing is not working” and when the girl was like “what isn’t working?” she would say she “forgot” or didn’t know. Like I'm pretty sure majority of the people who come to these classes are there to feel empowered in our bodies and feel sexy- this teacher did the opposite of that. However, I will say the choreo was fun once you got past the teacher. Regardless, I was on the fence but after this class I prob won’t come back. I knocked off a star purely bc of that specific teacher, Alina. Baby girl needs to be humbled.

Amazing instructors. Supportive class.

Why the one star? Stacy Hamilton!!! The owner.

I had to cancel class due to a medical issue and dispite giving plenty of notice, the app took a few as "late cancel"

Ten emails with Stacy later and I'm pretty sure she's according me of cancelling on app and then attending for free.

She isn't able to answer one direct question and I feel like I just argued with a toddler.

I see tons of other reviews on tons of platforms about this and had heard through word of mouth as well.

The manager at the Brighton office of Boston Pole Fitness, Olivia, is extremely unprofessional and rude. She tried to tell my friend, who's birthday I'd bought a package for, that they could not reschedule, even though they were before the 12 hour no cancelation policy. She told them that they could not reschedule for a class that would be more than a month from when the class package was originally bought and that there were no refunds. So I got on the phone with her and explained that we were with in the class cancelation policy guidelines and it was not a month out yet since we had originally bought our packages thus we should be allowed to reschedule. When I asked her why we would not be allowed to reschedule she kept dodging the question repeating the month out policy that did not apply to this circumstance while talking over me. I said that policy does not apply to this situation and you're not answering the question I am asking you so could you please answer my question directly. In return she called me nasty. I asked her to please calm down that I had not called her any names, sworn, or raised my voice. She said I rose my voice so I explained that I hadnt she had just been talking over me so it may have felt that way. I asked her to please be more professional and respectful in the future. We got classes rescheduled, but no apology. I've worked in customer service before and understand it can be challenging, but there is no reason why the manager, Olivia, should have lost her cool like that and called me a name. Her customer service skills are poor at best. I would not recommend this company they are disorganized, dysfunctional, and sketchy. In addition to that, if the manager Olivia is any indication of the teachers they hire then the classes are not worth your money.

Everything about this studio is amazing! I took my first class, not expecting to really like it, but I fell in love with the art of pole and it has helped me become a happier and healthier version of myself! All of the instructors are amazing (special shout out to Natalie and Jess) and they have helped me gain so much strength in the short time I’ve been taking classes. One of my favorite things about pole is that I’m every class, I can see some sort of improvement in myself. I could not recommend taking classes at Boston Pole Fitness enough! This studio is my happy place! I have been coming to classes weekly since August 2019 (before that I took 1 or 2 classes in 2017) and the community is so incredibly supportive and empowering. For all the insecurities that I had walking into my first few classes, the staff and instructors have helped me get out of my comfort zone, learn moves that work for my body, and stay motivated. The studio is clean and well-maintained, and the regular weekly schedule has a great variety. I've taken Intro to Pole, Pole 101, Inversions, and Heels & Floorwork classes and want to try aerial silks and lyra someday.

I absolutely love and adore this place and all the people that come with it. As a recently openly queer individual feeling comfortable in my skin was intimidating and can be hard to do. But ever since I started coming here I have a new found confidence in the way I hold myself, what I’m capable of, my body, and being able to attain the stature, figure, and flexibility I so wish to have. When I leave I leave with pride, my hips swaying, and new friends who breathe positivity in my life! On the days I can’t go I feel so inspired that I still stretch and run because the next time I get to go I want to be that much more capable. Maybe it sounds corny, but seeing how beautiful I can look in the mirror while learning things I would never be capable of has been huge for my confidence. I love this place. I love everyone here. I started coming here in 2015 and I'm still here today more than ever. This studio has changed a lot over the years for the better. Now it's equipped like a well-oiled machine filled with a variety of classes. The only downside at this moment that I'm seeing is personally a lack of higher level classes or spin classes, but it's probably because of (1) the lack of enough high level students to warrant more classes that fits our schedules and (2) spin poles were recently introduced to this place. So over time, I hope that these 2 things become our next additions.

I travel to a lot of pole studios whenever I'm in a new town to explore the scene. Having BPF as my homebase is pretty awesome because comparatively, I'm pretty happy with where we are and what we have.

It's a little confusing to find the entrance but once you're inside you're all set.

I've only been here for pole class, but classes are generally 75 minutes long. There's a very long and thorough warm up in the beginning of class each time. I've enjoyed all the classes I've been to and each instructor definitely puts their own spin on their class. My favorite class has to be beginner flow with Anna L though!

One downside is that construction is currently happening but I imagine that the studio will be super nice after it's all done.

I've gone to several classes at Boston Pole Fitness over the past few years and they are a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend pole fitness as a fun and sexy workout. Took my first BPF class ( pole virgin course )here on 12/4 with Tamar and I left wanting more! The place is kind of hidden in plain site so for any new time comers be aware that the building is located right underneath the sign that reads, " BPG" I arrived 10 minutes prior to the start time only to still get there 5 mins late due to missing where the heck the precise entrance was! It was irritating, more so since it was dark on that street so yeah.

On to the class itself, my instructor was Tamar and she was very welcoming to me despite me arriving 5 minutes late and stepping on the dance floor with my shoes ( whoops! ) I was lucky to find a pole and was able to catch up with the rest of the class for the warm up ( did yoga class prior to loosen up so I still would have been fine. ). She taught us how to grip the pole properly, how to climb properly, how to do a spin properly, a handstand trick and made sure to walk around the room to see everyone do each trick once to make sure we were all on the same page. I was so nervous when she came to me but she was so non judgmental, easy going, and helpful that I loosen up after a while and was able to perform better in result. Really appreciated that!

Despite the location still undergoing construction, the facility was still clean even the restroom which i appreciated so much! Would definitely return again. This company is welcoming to all walks of life. I felt at ease as a black woman coming here and didn't feel uncomfortable for a second!

Now if you'll excuse me Im going to continue to ice my abs because it went through a workout, my lord!

This is really the only pole studio in Boston. Some of the instructors are really great! They make you feel really comfortable and help you when needed. Everyone there is super friendly. They have pole, lyra, and silks. Definitely try out a class. It's fun and also an amazing workout! There's always deals going on, so check their website or Groupon.

There are a few downsides. The pole studio does not have spinning poles. All the poles are static. They do have on spinning pole in the back corner but they do not teach on that pole.

Also there are very few mirrors. The space is large and the poles are very spread out. Only one wall has a mirror. So only about 4 poles can really see themselves in the mirror. It would be better if they could at least have more portable mirrors that people can use.

The Pole 101 classes are amazing. The instructors walk around to help you individually , and they have a killer playlist to match the routine . On the other hand, the manager doesn't know how to handle conflicts . I remember I cancel a class the night before my actual class, I tried to speak to her about it. Since the cancellation wasn't last minute , I should have been able to "regenerate "the class . When we spoke on the matter , she became frustrated , she barely listened to me, I had to repeat myself , and she kept interrupting. She seems nice when it's time to take other people's money but very difficult to talk to when a problem is raised.

I booked one of their "parties" for $375 for a 90 minute class. When we arrived there was another class still going on. We walked to the back and found the instructor she popped out just long enough to tell us that she was running behind and that it would be a few minutes until our class started. We waited for 30 minutes for our class to start. The instructor never came back out and updated us. We start the class and it was basic enough. We were taught some basic steps and a short routine and the lesson was over within 45mins. The way that it was explained to me was that for the first 70-75mins was supposed to be the lesson and the last 15-20 would be pictures and cake. Another party had arrived so and the instructor left out class to help them. While she was gone we took our own photos and personal videos. By this time I'm annoyed because for almost $400 you expect more or to at least have the time you paid for. I explain to the instructor I was unhappy she tells me I can reach out to the owner. Fast forward to today I speak with the owner and she is completely indifferent and says she will only refund me 15 mins at the additional half hour rate of $75. We we in an uber an on our way back to our hotel at when there was 20 left of our class. And then to be charged at the additional half hour rate as opposed to the rate that I actually paid for is shady business practice. And the class before us and the class after us received noticeable difference in treatment. I will never go back to this place and none of the 15 ladies that I came with will either. I'd rather patronize a place that cares about the level of service they give.
