EDIT: I did not consent to my 5 star review for AXL to be used as a review for BSPOKE.

My review previously said: “You ride with us once, you ride with us 500 times, you are AXL family for life. I love this place ❤️"

As a B/SPOKE member paying $200+/month, I'm extremely frustrated with their greedy cancellation policy. If you can't make a class and don't cancel 24+ hours ahead, they charge you $20 AND don't return your class credit. This double penalty is ridiculous when we're already paying premium prices - the gym gets our membership money either way, and instructors aren't affected since classes are prepaid.
For what they charge, the space is too small and the class variety is seriously lacking. You'd expect much more at this price point, but instead you get limited options and punitive fees on top of an already expensive membership.
Cannot recommend unless you have a perfectly predictable schedule and don't mind overpaying for limited offerings.

I booked a Yoga Sculpt class with Emmy for the first time at B/SPOKE, and it was such a great experience! Upon arriving, the front desk staff were super friendly and welcoming — they explained where everything was located. The studio itself is beautiful, with lockers, showers, and even a sauna for members. I was pleasantly surprised to find a cute welcome card waiting for me at my mat, which made me feel so appreciated! Emmy personally introduced herself and chatted with me before class, which was such a nice touch. The class was intense (in the best way) and I absolutely loved it. There is street parking available, but finding a spot in East Boston can be a bit of a headache — definitely arrive early for the parking hunt! Overall, I had an amazing experience and will definitely be returning to B/SPOKE!

Disappointing. I loved the spin classes when it was AXL, but now its just yoga and strength exercises I can do on my own. Hoping someone opens a spin studio in eastie to replace AXL now that it's gone.

AXL is everything a person could ever hope for in a fitness community; this place is truly something special. This studio does what is best for its community and the instructors, front desk staff, and owners care deeply about everyone who steps through the doors. I came here on opening day in October 2022 and had never taken a cycling class before and I am now an unlimited member, taking classes 5 days a week, participating in community events, and have made my best friends at this studio. From my first class, I knew this place was something special and would recommend anyone and everyone to come here.

I never thought I would enjoy spin, but AXL is such a fun and inviting place to workout. The instructors, front desk, and community make going back an easy choice. I would highly recommend showing up for yourself and taking a class.

If you like spin, come to AXL. If you've never tried spin and want to, come to AXL. Every instructor brings their own unique style so you will always have an amazing time and find a new way to challenge yourself. The studio is so cute, the bikes are good, there are showers and towels so it's a breeze to get ready after, and you can also book infrared saunas and NormaTec compression boots. There's also a variety of class types so you can find one that best suits you or take them all. It's a great place to push yourself out of your comfort zone and so welcoming. What are you waiting for

Joining AXL was the single best decision I have ever made for my health. When I started, I was morbidly obese and dreaded working out after years of hermitting during covid. Although the first few classes were tough physically, I persevered with the encouragement from the instructors and fellow riders. This welcoming and supportive atmosphere was essential in keeping me consistent. After a year at AXL, I have lost 60+ lbs and reduced my resting heart from 80 bpm to 60 bpm. If you are looking for a fun community to motivate you to improve your health, I would highly recommend checking out AXL.

I've been going to AXL since it started with outdoor rides during the pandemic and have loved it ever since. The instructors, front desk staff, and owners are all very friendly and welcoming (so are their dogs, who visit sometimes), so when the current studio location opened and unlimited memberships were an option I didn't hesitate. The classes are taught in a way where you can make each one as challenging or as easy as you're feeling up to that day without shame, which is great for me because I'm also a runner & some days I want to take a class but don't necessarily want to try as hard as I possibly can. They also now offer sauna & normatec boot sessions, which are a fantastic addition. I'll return as long as AXL will have me!

This place is something special! I never imagined I’d ever enjoy a spin class, but I took my first in January of 2023 and I’m so glad I did! AXL has such a great community that’s so supportive and welcoming of ALL people and skill levels, and I’m so happy to have found it.

I’ve been to lots of spin studios in Boston - Rev’d, Flywheel, Cycle Bar, Turnstyle and HandleBar (pre-merger) to name a few, and AXL is the best by far! Not only are there amazing workout classes led by a team of talented and friendly instructors AND state of the art recovery options, but the community here fostered by everyone from the leadership team to the front desk crew is amazingly warm and inviting. I can’t move out of Eastie because I can’t imagine being more than 5 minutes away from AXL ❤️

I would absolutely recommend AXL Studios! The classes are topnotch incorporating dynamic spin routines with an upper body training segment and stretching into every class for a total body workout. Each instructor has their own style of preferred music, ensuring there is something for everyone and the playlists are never mundane. The staff is enthusiastic, helpful, and motivating which is critical during challenging workouts. The facility is clean and modern for a welcoming feel. Class times are convenient and the facility takes part in and organizes optional events throughout the year which is so fun and provides an opportunity to engage in the community. So lucky to have this place just right down the street from me!

I took my first class in April 2023 with Delaney and I was hooked! Every ride is so fun, and all the instructors are super motivating. Between the themes and different class types, you’ll never get bored here! The saunas are such a treat too! Can’t say enough good things about AXL!!

Can’t say enough about this studio and the AXL team! I first tried AXL in May 2023 and haven’t stopped going since. The studio staff is welcoming and attentive, and I always look forward to each instructors’ authenticity, positive energy, and challenging workouts in each class - and I especially appreciate their thoughtful playlists! Their studio is clean, they offer a variety of classes each week, class reservations are organized, and you can always count on finding a helpful hand when setting up for class.

I hadn't tried spinning before AXL, so it’s been a learning experience, but I’ve never been more motivated to consistently try new things and push myself to do better in a group fitness class. AXL offers a supportive and fun workout environment, but it’s also given me an escape when I need it, a reason to celebrate and be celebrated, and a never-ending challenge every time I clip in! I highly recommend AXL to anyone who asks (and even if they don’t, I’ll probably still talk about it ☺️)

AXL studios is the most special place!!! The community of riders, the people who work there, and the class itself serve such a greater purpose than a workout class to me. I love coming to the studio and being able to feel such a sense of peace. AXL creates a safe space for so many and i’m happy to be a part of it!! Plus all the instructors and classes are fun and challenging all at the same time!!!

Is it a workout? Is it therapy? Is it a dance party? AXL is all the above. The instructors provide a space for their riders to reach for goals both on and off the bike. Their motivational spirit and attitude is genuine and necessary when fighting through a hill or run. I’ve loved joining AXL as an unlimited member and taking advantage of the recovery options that truly round out the experience. One of my best decisions since moving to Boston was walking through their doors a year ago. 5 STARS!

Started riding with Axl during the pandemic when they were hosting outdoor distanced classes and moved indoor with them in their new studio space. I love the community and how accepting the staff are of all fitness levels and body types. The instructors will push you to do your best and celebrate all accomplishments big and small. Bonus of the studio space are the saunas and normatech recovery boots.

AXL is such a welcoming and fun spin studio with dedicated, knowledgeable, and thoughtful instructors and staff! As someone who had a hard time finding a fitness routine and had never tried spin before, I found AXL’s variety of class times to easily fit into my schedule. They provide just the right amount of structure and support in each class so that everyone can get stronger and more confident, at their own pace. It’s also a great place to meet new people and truly embodies a spirit of community - an Eastie gem!

I waited patiently for this studio to open, and it’s even better than I dreamed it would be. I was pretty new to spin, and these instructors had me RUNNING back for more after my first week. They’re so inclusive while still pushing each individual to be better. I’ve never been more thrilled to wake up at 6:30 am just so I can workout with my spin friends. The saunas and locker rooms are also a lovely perk

Axl is a addition to the neighborhood for spin enthusiasts! The studio is reasonably priced, brand new -- and built to meet COVID safety specifications. Right now (Aug. 2020) indoor classes are limited to 6 riders + 1 instructor. It feels very safe -- and the outdoor classes (see photo here from one such class) offer wonderful views of the city for free. I've taken every instructor on the roster so far and they are all very good + the staff is nice. TBH I wasn't so sure when they opened if this local studio (even though more convenient for me) would be able to truly tear me away from the other spin studios I have loved in Boston over the years (not that all are reopened yet, but still) and it has. I go all the time + I don't feel an overwhelming urge to go anyplace else.

AXL is amazing! The instructors are excellent, the studio is always clean (and they seem to take their safety protocols seriously) and the bikes are top-notch. The AXL staff is friendly and accommodating, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed spinning at this new studio. I would suggest trying to get on the schedule early as their classes usually book up quickly. 10/10 would recommend!

I have been loving the outdoor rides AXL has had recently! You can't beat the view of Boston harbor! The sound quality is fantastic and you feel safe at a large distance from your neighbor's bike. It is much more fun to dance on a bike with a group than to run my normal loop alone. Would highly recommend!

AXL is the cutest & newest spin studio in Eastie! They have a lot of class offering, have great instructors and they even have outdoor waterfront classes which are amazing. They’re in studio safety precautions are top notch, (they even have a special air filter system!), and the owners do everything in their power to make sure the studio is clean and their team/riders are safe! Highly recommend!

Took my first class with Axl today! I love spin and have missed it during the shutdown. The studio was so nice; trendy, tasteful and easily accommodated everyone getting ready for class. They’ve outdone themselves with Covid safety too! You feel like you almost have a private “booth” with sneezeguards around you to ensure you’re not breathing in your neighbors air plus bikes are all spaced out very well. Bri was a FABULOUS instructor; great music, awesome energy all while wearing her mask the entire time! They have cubbies for each bikes, but there are no locks on them (didn’t bother us but some people may care).
