At Build Yoga, I offer a variety of yoga classes and personal training packages to help you achieve optimal health and wellness. Located in Amherst, MA, I proudly serve surrounding communities, including Hadley, Pelham, and Northampton.

My classes focus on strength and flexibility, providing a supportive environment for those recovering from injuries or enhancing fitness. My engaging group yoga classes welcome all levels, ensuring everyone feels included. With a deep understanding of the body and a good sense of humor, I guide individuals through effective wellness practices.

I’m so happy to have found Katie’s class. I am close to a yoga novice and have felt so much mental and physical benefit from it. I love the way that Katie talks about positioning the body—I can really understand the poses. And beyond the physical, I really love that Katie incorporates mindfulness into every session. I've had the blessing of having taken 2 yoga classes with Katie at Build Yoga. She was attentive to all our individual needs and skills. She gently corrects and then explains why. Her classes are unique in that she incorporates nature and all its beauty. I literally felt like I was a leaf on the ground during one of her fall outside classes. If you are even thinking about taking a yoga class with Katie, you should just do it. She's an amazing teacher: inspiring, clear, fun, serious, and deeply attuned to her students and what they need. No matter what kind of day I've had, Katie always seems to know exactly what I need and provides a yoga experience unlike any other I've been a part of. I'll admit to not really having much of a yoga practice, but through Katie's classes, I have been able to integrate different poses throughout my day that make me more aware of my body in space, provide just the right movement, or encourage me to find the quiet focus I sorely need in that moment. Katie has a knack for being able to teach an entire class in a big space and still make it feel like she's there just for you. She intentionally takes the time to know those participating in her classes and designs the classes to meet our needs, even specifically cueing one or another of us on how to make the pose work better for us. Her understanding of body mechanics and how to help us mindfully adjust and move our bodies to get the most out of a pose is always appreciated. I highly recommend joining one of Katie's classes!

I have never taken a yoga class with a more down-to-earth, heart-full teacher than Katie Shults. As I am in my 60's with physical limitations who is not inclined to do yoga in skimpy spandex, I felt safe and supported to show up as myself and to go at my own pace. Katie has been teaching yoga in Amherst for many years, and I started practicing with her about 8 years ago. I have been to a few other classes before that, and I continue to return to her classes because they are a perfect balance of movement and meditation for me.
