Romel is a regular, hardworking guy. I've been training with him for a few months now and I am seeing and feeling the progress. The space is great, the location is ideal, and the hours are expansive: Romel is in that gym _all the time_.

Romel was a godsend for my family, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. My elderly mother suffered temporary neuromuscular paralysis as a result of an autoimmune disease and lost basically all of her muscle as a result. The physical therapists who came to work with her would move her limbs, but seemed to otherwise write her off as a lost cause. As someone who was so independent and self-sufficient her whole life, my mother was depressed, demoralized and generally prickly/reactive with anyone who even tried to help her, making things even worse. Enter Romel. From the beginning his way of being with her was so kind and sensitive. He approached her gently and with such warmth and humor, paying real attention to her boundaries but also to where he could push and challenge her. His training took her from being entirely bedridden and barely able to move any part of her body to being up, able to use her arms and core strength and able to move herself around in a wheelchair. She's now regaining strength in her legs, and we can begin to see that she might even be able to stand and walk again. I recognize that my mom is an outlier case, but my feeling is that Romel should be able to corner the market on working with older clients who are wanting to preserve or even gain muscle strength, coordination and fitness as they age--but who need a trainer who will listen and really develop a program that suits the goals and temperament of the individual. I'd also say, adult children, consider hiring him for your aging parents to preserve their independence as long as possible. We are so grateful for Romel! Thank you!

I’ve had the honor to be able to work directly with Madeline for a while. Last year, before I got into my in-season sports, she was able to set up and take us through a workout even before even getting her personal training certification. Recently, I’ve had the ability to work with Madeline now that she’s gotten her certification. I’ve seen a very impressive shift since working out with her before. Madeline is very good about focusing on my exact needs being an athlete. She is great about giving me encouragement, staying personable, and keeping high energy throughout the entire workout. When I voice any concern, like a strain or pain, she is able to quickly adjust the workout in order to accommodate. Madeline is also very good at giving me slight adjustments not only during workouts, but after workouts. It’s been a genuine pleasure to work with her and I’m excited to continue to do so.

I've been training with Romel for the past three months and couldn't be happier with the results! Romel is incredibly knowledgeable and understands how to create a personalized, flexible training program that helps me to meet my goals.

Let me just start with the facts, there are trainers that say they can help you achieve your goals and then there are trainers that actually do it. Having tried group classes and other personal trainers elsewhere prior to coming to see Romel, there is a clear difference in quality, professionalism and results!

It’s important to mention, especially for women, the level of comfort I feel. The space is set up perfectly for the 1:1 sessions, Romel plays my playlist and I’m reminded and encouraged that I have what it takes to reach my goals - talk about being in my zone! I appreciate the respect and motivation!

Something unique about Canadian Park Training is the willingness to allow my son, 9yrs. old to not only attend my sessions but JOIN IN! Being a single mom, working full time, attending night school, and running to and from multiple activities for my son - it can feel like the quality time is lacking. Romel’s flexibility and just blatant kindness makes more difference than he knows! I get “me time” and quality time with my son doing something that builds character for us both!

Romel is the absolute best! So much fun to work with, and his personality is fantastic. I’ve been training with him for the past 8 months, and the difference has been incredible. He’s incredibly attentive, always focused on my form, which has helped me reach my goal of reducing body pain. Before training with him at Canadian Park, I was dealing with constant neck and back pain, but thanks to Romel’s attention to detail, I’m feeling so much better.

I started training with Romel shortly after arriving to Boston from the Netherlands. His energy, curiosity, humor and non-judgemental personality make working out a lot of fun. I think he can work with a broad range of people regardless of their background or their prior training.

For me, his straightforward approach works well, including his ability to switch quickly gears depending on my mood and fitness level of the day, making sure the exercises don’t feel like routine. The closest gym to my apartment, and can also be a good choice for anyone who lives and works nearby on Newbury Street in Backbay.

I started working out with Romel when I was a few months pregnant. I wanted to make sure I was still pushing myself, but most importantly was being SAFE while working out. Romel always found an incredible balance of making sure I was getting a personalized, and challenging, yet fun, workout that was tailored to me, my pregnancy, and how I was feeling each week.

We restarted training again once I hit the two-month mark postpartum. Just like during the pregnancy, Romel ensured the exercises were appropriate to slowly return to working out. The intensity has ramped up each week, but we've made sure it's suitable for where I am in my postpartum journey, just like we did while I was pregnant. Best yet, I've been able to bring my baby to a few workouts, which is an incredible benefit of personal training.

At 3 and ½ months postpartum, I am now in better shape than I was prior to pregnancy. Yes, I had to buy new jeans after the baby was born - but in a smaller size than what I had in my closet before I got pregnant. Weight loss was NEVER pushed and was not a goal nor was it discussed during pregnancy or postpartum workout sessions. Instead, we focused on strength and building a foundation of strong workouts and this has been an added bonus!

I have been working out with Romel for little more than a month, and really enjoy the workout sessions. It's definitely an intense one-hour session including cardio, weight lift, and balance. My posture got noticeably improved in a short amount of period. (not only that, I am so happy that he helped me correct my neutral standing/ walking posture from the first lesson as well) He is best at teaching you every single detail of the correct posture that you might find difficulty improving by yourself. Also, you will learn so many different types of exercise which you can eventually include in your regular workout routine. Every session is so motivating to challenge and see the improvements!

Carolyn is phenomenal!!! As a lifelong athlete I’ve seen my share fair personal trainers with some good and others not so much but Carolyn by far is the best I’ve worked with.

I started training with Romel a few months ago and almost immediately noticed results. He is great at explaining the exercises, while targeting muscle groups I need to work on. He excels at coaching me to push myself in order to get the most from each session. After having a few kids, and not exercising as much as I should have during the pandemic, I needed to focus on building strength. That’s exactly what we have been working on each session. I brought my wife in for a session with Romel, because she was suffering from lower back pain after training on her own. She had a hard time walking upstairs bending over to pick things up it was a total nightmare. From our initial evaluation session, I knew Romel was the trainer I've been looking for. He has a profound ability to help you understand the physics of your body as you're working it to identify sources of problems (e.g. knee pain, hip tightness) and make immediately helpful corrections. You'll come away feeling a bit sore in places that you didn't realize were weak, but essential to everything: how you walk, run, sit, lift, etc. He also has a massage device that works wonders.
