I love Catalyst gym! As a newcomer in town, the staff at Catalyst gym were so welcoming to me. I entered with a goal to get in healthier shape for my pregnancy. I was able to work out 2x a week with Danny and Ryan until I was 36 weeks pregnant. Each trainer had a nice balance of challenging me to ensure I was getting stronger and increasing my stamina, but also listened to me regarding my pregnancy progression and how I was feeling at each session. The trainer/trainee relationship with both Danny and Ryan felt very collaborative and they listened to my goals and made sure I was able to attain them safely, and make adjustments as needed for my growing belly and when I couldn't get off the floor as easily! I credit Catalyst Gym with my ability to feel healthy and fit throughout my pregnancy and motivating me to keep going! Special shout out to Ryan (a father himself) as he had some insider knowledge about training throughout pregnancy. The community at Catalyst is wonderful. I loved the small groups (max of 3 people) and everyone I worked out with was so nice. Catalyst Gym is also very accommodating when I needed to reschedule my sessions due to illness or doctors appointments. My family recently moved away from Cambridge, otherwise I'd be back at the gym! I miss it LOTS.

I've been training with Danny for the last year, and I honestly can't say enough good things about the experience. I loved it so much that I even convinced my husband to join me! Danny is super knowledgeable, welcoming, funny, and always accommodates your individual needs. I loved the semi-private sessions. It makes for a really fun and inviting atmosphere where you have company for motivation but still get the personalized attention you need to make sure your form is right. Danny truly goes above and beyond for his clients. He gave me specific resources for my nutritional questions and a nagging shoulder problem, which was a huge help. We are so sad that we have to stop training with him because we are moving. He set the bar so high as we search for our new gym!

Danny is an awesome trainer! Always makes sure that 1) you're getting stronger at the pace you want, 2) you're meeting your fitness goals and 3) having fun doing so! Even though you may be working out with different people at each week, the constant is that Danny fosters a warm and fun environment every week. Each 45 minute session goes by so fast and I look forward to working out with Danny every week.

I've been working out with Danny twice a week for almost 3 years now, and I can't say enough good things about him as a trainer and Catalyst. The workouts are in small groups, they change every month, and the trainer tailors it to your level and goals. All you have to do is show up, and they take care of the rest. It's a friendly culture where everyone feels accepted and welcome. I've often thought that if I tried weight training myself at home, I'd probably do about 1/3 or less of what I get to do at Catalyst. Especially as strength training is being touted as a key recommendation for longevity and health for women at ages 40+, Catalyst makes it easy to make sure I'm doing all I can to be strong and healthy.

I've been working with Danny at Catalyst for almost a year now, and it has been far and above the best experience I've ever had working with a trainer in a personal/small group environment.
Getting started with Catalyst is incredibly easy - I had a consultation with Faisal, who did a great job understanding my goals and evaluating my current fitness levels. By the next week, I had my first training appointment already on the books!
From there, I was set up working with Danny two days a week. The workouts are perfectly orchestrated across warmup/mobility, working sets, and supersets to get the heart rate up. Danny is so good at pushing you to the point of continual progress, and the best way I can describe it is the sense of sustainable progress I've had over the last year. I not only feel stronger across all major lifts, but I feel SO much more confident and in control thanks to Danny's focus on form and various supporting movements to develop balanced strength.
On top of the training expertise, all other aspects of working with Catalyst - scheduling, flexibility, social environment - are top notch. I can't recommend Catalyst enough if you're looking to progress your fitness goals, whatever they may be!

Working out with Danny and Catalyst has been transformative for my personal health. I was looking to get back in shape after being sedentary for many years and set a stretch goal of being strong enough to complete an open water swim. He came highly recommended by my neighbor, and my wife and I both signed up.
It turns out that I knew much less about strength training than I thought I did -- Danny guided me through thoughtfully designed whole body workouts and even advised on nutrition. He fosters a welcoming and encouraging environment, and I look forward to each session.
This summer I exceeded my goals in completing the swim and am in the best shape I've been in since my 20s. My wife, who has also had a great experience, was my kayaker and is also stronger than ever. I'm grateful to Danny and can't recommend him and Catalyst more strongly.

I was fairly new to weight training when I started at Catalyst a little over a year ago and it’s been a great experience thus far! I train with Danny and he does a great job demonstrating the exercises, helping with form, and helping with any adjustments or accommodations needed for pain/injuries. He’s also been really accommodating when I’ve needed to move my scheduled session due to conflicts. I feel a lot stronger than a year ago and Danny always checks in when gauging increases to weights for exercises so everyone challenges themselves but also doesn’t do more than they can handle. Catalyst is also in a pretty convenient area with plenty of available metered street parking nearby and is also walkable from the Central Square T stop. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for personal or semi-personal training!

Really great personal gym. I have been going here for about 2 years and as someone who has a hard time being self motivated to go to a regular gym, working with Danny has really helped me become more healthy and stronger. The workouts change each month but still get a full body workout each session. As the month goes on, each week is more challenging than the last and by the end of the month, we are getting a good and tough workout. Group size is small, with 3 being the most I've worked out with, and we each are going at our own customized plan with Danny. He is also helpful about sending home workouts or stretching to do on off days if you ask. Overall great spot and will continue to work out here.

I've been training at Catalyst 2 times a week for the past 6 months, and it would be an understatement to say my life has completely changed for the better. My trainer makes strength training fun and manageable. I "level up" on multiple exercises every session, so I can feel myself getting stronger with zero risk of injury. Even on my most exhausted days (I'm a teacher), I find the motivation to go to Catalyst and always feel energized afterwords. Aside from the physical health benefits, training there has given me more energy and improved my mood overall. I highly recommend training at Catalyst Performance!

I've been working with Danny over the past 8 months in semi-private training and have become the biggest and strongest I've ever been--I gained 17 pounds and added 3-4 cm to every major muscle. I can’t say enough good things about Catalyst, and Danny and Faisal in particular, as those are the two I worked with. Workouts are simple but effective, and they stay consistent throughout the month, but change each month. We always work all major muscle groups using basic mechanics that encourage us to focus on form. That’s coupled with the semi-private atmosphere where we can regularly get feedback from the trainer and also share some camaraderie with the 1-2 others in the class. I’ve been going there twice a week for over a year and the results have been just what I wanted. Thanks, Danny!

Last August, I took the plunge and decided to try out this gym as a complete novice to fitness and gym training. My goal was to gain better control over my body, both in terms of shape and strength. I was paired with Danny, who offered a complimentary evaluation on day one and crafted a customized training plan to help me achieve my objectives.
For the past eight months, I've been attending two training sessions every week, and I must say the progress has been quite impressive. Danny is undoubtedly a professional with a considerate and patient approach. As a newcomer, I initially feared not being able to keep up, but Danny created a comfortable environment that allowed me to proceed at my own pace.
What I appreciated most was Danny's attention to detail. He meticulously recorded everyone's exercises and weights, ensuring each of us received personalized guidance. He introduced a variety of exercises targeting different muscle groups, which kept the workouts interesting and enjoyable.

I trained with Danny at Catalyst for almost two years and had an incredible experience. I had never done much gymming before, and getting into it had me pretty nervous - figuring out what to do, figuring out how to do it without hurting myself, that kind of thing.
From the first session at Catalyst my worries were all gone. The obvious care with which my routine was created and the careful attention to form/technique during workouts was amazing. I got stronger, but also got more confident in a gym setting. They really stress feeling comfortable and having a good time - and, yes, pushing yourself hard so you can really grow. You're going to sweat :)
The membership scheme is very flexible, and they make scheduling/rescheduling super easy. The facilities themselves are great; the equipment is in good condition and everything is kept clean. I did semi-private training, so typically my sessions were with 1-2 others, for which there is enough room without feeling cramped. Danny and the other trainers are super friendly, welcoming/chill, and are very clearly passionate and knowledgeable.
If you're new to strength training - or even if you're not new but looking for some experts to help you progress with wherever you are - I would absolutely recommend Catalyst Performance.

It was my first time ever strength training, and I went into Catalyst not knowing anything about weightlifting etc. But Danny was extremely helpful, considerate, and knowledgeable from the beginning, and I trained with him for 8 months. He made the semi-private training scheduling very smooth and the overall experience extremely enjoyable! I'm sad to be moving away from the city and leaving Catalyst--so if you're in Cambridge, I would recommend this place 10/10 :)

I spent the last 6 months training at Catalyst with Danny and my experience has been completely transformative.
I've never been much of a gym person, partially because I love being outdoors but also because I didn't really know what exercises to do and how to keep things fresh when working out in a gym.
I knew that I wanted to work on several areas mainly around improving my mobility and overall strength, but also giving me the right mindset and tools to be able to effectively and confidently workout on my own for the rest of my life.
I approached personal training at Catalyst as an investment in myself and to future proof my body. Faisal and Danny learned about my fitness goals and ensured that I was doing the right exercises/weight for my level and to match with my goals.
At Catalyst you can attend weekly group training sessions where you receive constant feedback about form and technique. Danny also provided me with workouts I could do outside of my weekly sessions which provided me with tons of variety.
I wake up excited to go to the gym in the morning and I love that I now have the tools to be able to effectively workout.

Absolutely loved my time at Catalyst and with Danny. I will say that I've never had a personal trainer and was skeptical going in but I am now a believer. :) The gym was convenient to where I lived and they are more than accommodating with hours, schedules, and life changes - as they creep up on you. The gym is fantastic - clean and organized. Workouts change on a monthly basis. There are a few trainers but I spent my time with Danny. He is fantastic. He is knowledgeable, listens to your goals or aches and pains, and creates a workout regiment that is suited to your needs. I've had shoulder problems for years from overuse and I saw remarkable improvements. I only left the gym because I was moving for work. Danny took the last few weeks and really worked to help make my transition to my new gym easy - focusing on my form, what to look for, exercises to keep doing to protect my shoulder. I was incredibly sad to leave. By far one of the best parts of my year living in Cambridge. Highly recommend.

I've worked with Danny three times a week for several months. When I first started, I was very nervous as I was pretty out of shape. Danny created a personal workout plan that challenged me physically but with his constant support and encouragement, made me want to come back day after day. I've enjoyed both the Private sessions & Semi Private sessions as other clients of Catalyst are as encouraging and fun to workout with as instructors. Have been working with Ryan at Catalyst twice a week for the past 6 months and can highly recommend it. It was a great way to get into the habit of working out regularly for someone that really had never done so before. Faisal & Ryan are the best! They're incredibly knowledgeable, great to be around, and really focus on building sustainable and functional strength. Their workouts follow a monthly schedule so that you can see your strength build in a short period of time and then compliment those gains the following month. The trainers at Catalyst are dedicated, professional, and motivating! I found them to be extremely knowledgable and committed--they coordinate comprehensive, individualized training programs that change up every single month. I have been regularly attending Catalyst for over a year believe that Faisal and Ryan are both expert in their field, thoughtful, and pleasure to spend time with...even when they are killing you with a cardio finisher : )
At Catalyst you can choose from private or small group classes--I have found both settings to allow the trainers to have lots of 1:1 time to help with your form and adjust your workouts for any functional level or injuries. This is unique fitness experience that really can't compare to your typical large gym setting.

I have been training at Catalyst for over 3 years now and it has been the best personal and group training experience I have ever had. Faisal and his team are so knowledgeable and clearly dedicated to improving the lives of their clients. Faisal has helped me through injuries, he recommended a chiropractor and even went so far as to speak with on my behalf to let them know what was going on and help me work through it. He has always worked with me to meet personal goals, including getting me looking and feeling my absolute best for my wedding last year. And now, keeping me moving as I am expecting my first baby. Faisal's approach is above and beyond, he has assisted me with personalized workouts, diets, whatever I may need to meet my goals. I began training at Catalyst about 2.5 years ago and it has, quite literally, changed my life. While no stranger to strength training, I had not lifted weights for nearly 20 years after a series of injuries. I began training at Catalyst in an effort to work through some of my nagging and limiting injuries. With Faisal and the Catalyst team's support and depth of experience, I've managed to surpass even my wildest expectations. Now at 43 years of age, I've never felt healthier or stronger. My chronic injuries are now a complete non-issue, with newfound mobility, strength, and balance.

I can’t recommend Fisal and the trainers at the Catalyst gym enough! I saw first hand the positive impact that this type training can have on your body when my husband first started at Catalyst after years of chronic pain. The transformation for his body was dramatic and not only was he pain free after a few months, he is now in the best shape of his life in his mid 40’s, all thanks to Catalyst!
I started training sessions almost two years ago after being inspired by my husband, and I’ve never been happier with my body. I have become so strong and I’m doing things I never thought I would, deadlifts, chin-ups, you name it.
What Catalyst does well is create a workout that is tailored specifically to you, and what works for your body and your schedule. He de-mystifies weightlifting exercises so they become less scary and, dare I say, fun! My workouts are never boring, always manageable, and the best part is that I’m seeing real results! My goal is to have a strong and healthy body as I age and I know that this is now achievable thanks to the training that I receive at Catalyst gym.
