Great place to train staff there are helpful they have full time people who constantly keep the place clean. Its an older crew that works out there so you donβt get them texting on equipment and most strip the equipment when they are done

Welcoming atmosphere, plenty to buy near the desk. Modern looking area inside. I like where the treadmills are placed. It's well taken care of... Staff are friendly and helpful, they see you eye to eye. Plenty to do, you feel free there. Seems like a judgement free zone overall. Its a really good gym!

The women's bathroom is very neglected and dirty. I actually stopped going for that reason because I had to shower there for my job, and the bathtubs are very dirty and there are no doors, just a curtain that separates the swimsuits from the lockers. There's nowhere to get dressed or anything.

I had been a member of the Danvers location and used to love Choice Fitness. I moved and changed jobs so I left but realized this place is on my commute home. I called and told them this, they collected my info and told me to come in whenever. I get there and the guy says that because I used to be a member somewhere else thereβs no trial. I asked why I was told different and they he said βwell I would have told you if I spoke to you.β Then he said heβd ask his manager, whom he told none of this and promptly said no. I drove 20 min out of my way and was told my only option was a $20 day pass.

I have been going to this gym for over 10 years on and off. This was my final day. The managment team is still extremely predatory about literally any fee they can conceive. It seems as though most of them are self centered, and unhappy with their lives. Most front desk workers won't do the bare minimum of greeting you as you walk in and out of the gym. They have no interest in helping out the community or fostering an inclusionary environment. The greediest gym environment you could possibly think of.

In the last month, the gym has decided to charge double what they normally do for anyone who takes yoga classes in the yoga studio here. (Which used to be included in your membership of $37 a month) now it is $67 a month. Apparently they took 3 of the yoga classes and moved them to the group x studio (and didnβt mention this when you upgrade) which is not relaxing in the slightest and has glass windows everyone can look in, while you can hear people slamming weights outside the room. Oh and the AC blasting. These classes used to be in the yoga studio and are meant to be relaxing, quiet and zen. So now I pay double to have some of my favorite yoga classes not even in the yoga studio anymore ????? Absolutely ridiculous and greedy company. They donβt care what members have to say.

Earlier today, I went to Choice Fitness Chelmsford to discuss their recent changes in membership offerings. My daughter signed a year-long contract only 3 months ago, then received an email earlier this month saying that some of the benefits would be removed, and would not be grandfathered-in to the end of the contract. To have the same benefits as at the time of signing, they would require nearly double the monthly membership fees.
At first, the Assistant Manager (Garrett Edgecomb) claimed it was in the contract that they could change the offerings at will. They then read the contract, admitted that it was not in the contract, but maintained that it was policy and was not going to change. I then asked to speak to the General Manager (Phillip Nunez), who, with an already disgruntled attitude, told me I could either upgrade the membership, cancel, or leave the premises. Upon saying that I'd like to exercise my right to complain about these issues, he told me I could leave or he would call someone to escort me out.
He then went into his office, and brought his phone to me with the CEO (Jason Ruggiero) on the line, who parroted off the same information, claiming that the email notice of these changes makes it appropriate. I explained that the right thing to do would be to maintain the same terms until the end of the contract. He said that he couldn't do anything because if they did that they'd have to do it for everyone. All 3 people I spoke to in this situation were utterly unempathetic to our position as a consumer. I would not recommend working with this gym in the future, as apparently they can and will change the terms of your contract however and in any way they please.

Can you guys fix the sauna? I see an abundance of merch being produced and the membership price keeps trickling up a dollar or two. The sauna has been broken since 12/26 a repair like that should be in the budget. If you need to call a repair man lmk I can give you a referral.

Choice Fitness has absolutely horrible business practices. I joined in October 2024 and signed a year long contract for the Platinum membership with yoga classes included. Beginning of February I received an email that yoga classes would no longer be included in my membership and my only options were to cancel for a $100 fee, or upgrade to the next membership tier which is DOUBLE what Iβm currently paying. I had to come in person to cancel my membership. I complained and got my $100 cancellation fee waived, but that doesnβt change the fact that Iβm now without the gym membership that I was counting on having for a year. They didnβt even attempt to make a deal with me to keep my membership. I really liked the yoga classes and they became part of my routine, now I have to start over with a new gym and switch up my schedule to make their classes work. I called my old gym to rejoin and they said they would NEVER change my membership benefits in the middle of the contract.

They have tons of classes, lots of great equipment, and plenty of open space for free-form exercise. The sauna and hot yoga are not as hot as I like, but they're still good. Plenty of parking. Apparently, you can even get smoothies made, too. I'm just using the free week while I'm in town, but I would certainly get a membership here if I lived in the area.

Phil the general manager is a scammer and so is this gym. They tell people that their account is canceled and then do not cancel the account just so that they can keep charging peoples bank accounts. When you complain to the manager, he over speaks you on the phone and doesnβt listen and tell you that you need to learn how to read a contract. Guy is making your gym look real bad. Thereβs a bunch of other people with the same complaint about the guy. When you call to cancel and then go in person, you expect that they will do the proper procedure for cancellation however, after driving all the way to the gym to cancel, you still get charged a week later and when you call, you are told that the staff didnβt do the proper cancellation process so it is your fault for not reading the original contract that you signed months ago lol joke

They were charging me for two memberships for awhile because they "accidentally" made a second account with my name and credit card information. It took me three times to be able to get a proper explanation and a manager to fix it. They told me they will be refunding the full amount and ended up only refunding half of what they owed me. Staff were clicky, gym was dirty, and crowded with mostly men (men would go to the women's only area too), I did not enjoy my experience at this gym when I was a member.

Stay away from this gym unless you want to be charged for the rest of your life.
I joined for 3 months & bought 8 training sessions the beginning of Feb 2024. I didn't particularly enjoy the gym after going to my sessions 2x a week in Feb. I had 2 months left on my membership so I thought I voluntarily bought 8 more sessions & went once a week. When I asked the front desk on April 4th how many sessions I had left, I was told 13 ( I should if had 5) . Apparently the 1st of every month I agreed to be charged $336. for an additional 8 sessions. Choice fitness planned to charge me for these sessions even after my membership expired.
I asked to be refunded the 8 sessions billed on my credit card on April 1st since I won't have time to use them before my membership expires. I was told they have to hold me to the contract & if I have sessions after my membership is over they 'will work with me' to use my training. I can only imagine how much that will cost.
I mentioned earlier I don't particularly like this gym so I think it would have been fair to refund me the 8 sessions I was charged for on April 1st.
If I could have given this gym negative stars I would have. The charge is currently in dispute with my credit card company.

I left Choice Fitness a message on FB and sent an email about membership options this past week. Iβm a student and visit the area few times a month, but planning to move come June. Choice seems to have many options and a great facility! I was really excited to hear back but never did. They read my message on FB and never responded. I called this morning to follow up and hoped to get more information. Whoever answered was not personable whatsoever. He was clearly reading off a sheet of paper and did not seem to care if I came or not. He said they never received my messageβ¦ Anyway, I told him my situation and (again) asked for membership options. He only listed 12 month lock options and ignored the fact Iβm a student. I had already clearly stated that was not possible for me. I then asked for other options and he read me one month and three month options. Helpful, but not attractive as a possible new member. I was hoping for a welcoming response so I could come try out the gym and look at my options as I would 100% buy a membership here if I had a different experience. Too bad.

If you want to cancel your membership due to moving the manager has to physically be there and is almost never there (we have come multiple days in a row). The staff at the front are not empowered enough to cancel a long standing subscription and are rather rude when asked for anything, particularly whoever was working the morning shift 9/9/23. I would not recommend this gym if you ever plan on moving or changing gyms.

I joined The gym after reviewing the trainers and selecting a specific trainer for my personal training needs. I then paid in advance
Personal training appointments, more than half of them were canceled last minute.
This Is a management failure and an unacceptable way of conducting business.
A gymn should not retain services of trainers that are Consistently unable to meet training appointment commitments.
The management seemed unmotivated about after they were informed although they acknowledged that they had received multiple complaints regarding the trainer

The Haverhill site is nothing short of monumental. The staff is sharp, professional and attentive. The array of equipment and opportunities for training are as one would hope in a well-attended facility. Cleanliness is solidly consistent and beyond reproach. The clientele is widely diverse, with all age groups and levels of ability appearing comfortable. Big ups to this house, which is just now completing a program of renovation and equipment modernization.

I joined a little over a month ago. I've communicated with Phil and Nancy on a few occasions and both of them have been helpful and kind.
1. Cleanliness - the work out area and locker rooms are clean. I've even seen professional cleaners with antibacterial spray deep cleaning the equipment during one of my dozen visits since I joined.
2. Contract transparency - when I signed up, Phil communicated the contract terms clearly and with full transparency. I find many of the complaints here about contract issues to be outrageous, as all gyms I've been a member of have the same terms. For example, Planet Fitness, Bally Fitness and Boston Sports Club require an in person visit or certified letter to cancel a membership. Standard record tracking process.
3. Busy at times - One of my concerns prior to joining was wait time for equipment during peak hours. While the gym is busy at peak hours, I've been able to get my workout in without waiting more than a couple minutes for equipment.
Overall, it's an excellent gym.

The Best choice fitness I been to so far. The area is in a nice plaza surrounded with mostly restuarant. With shared parking spots. The facility is high ceiling Super clean the staff is young friendly always on point with keeping the place clean and updated. when things run out! just ask they'll replace it. They have three rows of treadmills, a crossfit/ stretch out areas enough space to share. They offer personal trainer and cardio class , then you'll have all your machine for people that like to lift solo, then there's a abs work out area with machine. since they updated the area there's now a room for all the free weight lifting, it can be crowded at time during peak hours but everyone is respectful of each other and the equipment people wipe down after every use that's a plus. They also have daycare which I believe its difference price for membership fee day care fee. it is a contract membership your get charged the fee every month and they do charge you once a year maintenance fee . The manager Phil he's a "cool dude" if you don't understand anything or need help changing the billing date ect.. "He's your guy" he also does personal boxing training. the staff sometimes doesn't have the answer so it's best to speak with him. Overall: it's a nice place to get your workout in. all different type of people walk through the door you won't feel intimidated. Stranger becomes friend and friend become fitness buddies. Oh.. there's also shake bar they do sell difference drinks snacks bars and jerky

Updated October 2021:
We've been coming here for 5 months and we have no complaints. All of the staff, manager, and trainers (Phil, Jim, Liam, Stephanie) are friendly and encouraging. We enjoy coming in straight away when they open in the morning. Excited to see the upgrades once the extension next door is open with spin studio and hot yoga studio.
Honestly surprised at all the hate people have for Phil. He's nothing but nice to us, and I'm a minority female. Then again, I'm always kind and respectful and not condescending to everyone. So maybe the people who feel entitled should tone it down? Just a thought π€·π½ββοΈ
We used to have a home gym but upon moving had to join a gym. The staff is super friendly and gym members are kind and encouraging. Even with the limited number of people allowed in classes (Covid restrictions), there are still plenty of options. There are also virtual classes and personal training options. Looking forward to have the onsite sitting back so the whole family can go at once. My 13 year old and I enjoy all the classes- yoga, barre, kickboxing, spinning. So many to choose from!
I was surprised to see all the negative reviews. Everyone here is so nice and helpful, including the manager who we worked with us to get our memberships. There is plenty of equipment and members and trainers are very accommodating. I know there are gyms who are comparable with what they offer and the cost is higher. Awesome that the gym opens at 0430 during the weekdays and 0700 on the weekends. If you like to train on your own, train with a professional, or do group exercise, this gym is perfect. Now if they bring back the babysitting (kids choice), the whole situation will be perfect π₯°π

I said I donβt want new contract with you guys than he said you have to pay $100 for cancellation fee,

I lived in Chelmsford, and this is the second gym I tried. Best fitness was the first gym, so there is a baseline, competition, and a service.
Space: Best fitness is more significant then Choice fitness.
Cost: Same
ABC Financial: If you want to cancel membership, you can cancel it from Choice fitness, but in the case of BF, you need to send a certified letter to ABC financial.
Personal attention: Choice fitness gives more individual attention as compare to the best fitness. Plus, choice fitness has excellent instructors and PT for planning workout sessions.
Cleanliness & hygiene: Choice fitness is much cleaner.
Crowd: I go to the gym as early as 5 am, and choice fitness is quite empty. You can get any machine quickly. Although CF doesn't have lots of free-weight space, everything is available immediately without much or no waiting. Best fitness is on the other hand.

Decent gym, one of those places where there's one of everything when it comes to machines, so you can imagine it's not the biggest place. A lot of people come for the classes which look fun n the atmosphere is pretty chill I guess, there's not a ton of socializing people come to work out n go.
I only give it 4 stars cuz its pretty dark in there for some reason and the water gives me heartburn

I love this gym! I feel very welcomed, and they have a professional environment. My name isnβt in the system because I use my google review name as my writing name, because I donβt want to give out my name. THANK YOU! 11/10 recommend

Bad service for new customers.
I was so upset that I preferred to go back to Best Fitness, even though it got out of my way.

Just another money hungry gym. Whatever they tell you you're going to be paying, just double it so you're not suprised when the credit card charges start rolling in. They get one star because Scott is an awesome personal trainer (and because you can't give less than 1 star on here).
Update: I got it fixed, but with very little help from management. Overall the gym is nice, clean and most of the staff is nice.

I had been looking for an affordable gym with classes. When I went the first time the gym was so clean I felt very welcomed by the general manager on the tour. I joined and have been loving the staff the classes and the gyms vibe. It's not over crowded, the classes are made for everyone to go at their own pace. If your looking for a new gym this maybe one to look at.

Good gym. Poor staff. Not friendly, rude as well as disrespectful. One comes up to me during my workout and tells me I cannot do something yet I pay for the gym, I am not in danger of breaking anything, you have no right to be rude. Another trainer is absolutely disrespectful, will push you out of the way by leaving you no room to workout, and gives me a dirty look throughout my entire workout. Will be speaking to the manager about these issues and will edit with an update. Will give one star if not resolved. I have also heard trainers discussing steroids with clients, which are both not only illegal controlled substances, but absolutely no place in a gym for talking about them with praise. This gym will also be reported for discrimination to the BBB and State AG as nobody else has been told not to do this. Not recommended as a gym unless the staff is corrected.

I wish you could give zero stars, I found the training staff unprofessional after I asked to reschedule an appointment they told me they'd make sure I wasnt charged and could reschedule. The next day the trainer texted me and cancelled said appt. Because she was sick I was charged anyways, called to voice my concerns was called back by an office employee and told that I had a contract and reminded me I'd be continually charged etc. How can I be legally bound to pay for services never rendered? I have to now drive in and cancel said contract and still continue to be charged. Even though I never even saw said contract it was just a signature pad.

This is a good gym, though it can get crowded at times, and there I think they are trying to do too much with the space they have, especially in the open green turf area.
The trainers are very friendly, and the rates are affordable, though their minimum package is 12 sessions, so be prepared to shell out a few hundred.
They also use a system called MyZone, which is a strap that goes on your chest and an optional watch to keep track of your effort levels via your heart rate. Originally, I was a fan of this technology, but I find it kind of buggy, and the strap is annoying to put on (and turns off when you're not at a certain effort level). I wouldn't recommend the purchase, especially since it's $150 for the strap and $70 for the watch. If I had to do it again, I'd invest in a more expensive watch that could accurately track heart rate (more accurate than FitBit) and didn't require a strap.
If you're considering looking for a gym in the area, don't be lazy and skip looking at gyms aside from this one. Check out a couple more so you have some context for this gym. As I recently discovered, there are gyms around that have better facilities and gear for the same price.
Oh, and like every other gym in the country (it seems) they use ABC Financial, which everyone hates. So be prepared to 1) commit to a 1-year membership, or pay a $100 cancellation fee for canceling early, 2) have to go into the gym in person to cancel.

BEST PLACE! Really good smoothies for after as well!
The above was from a while ago. After paying for personal training, bringing in new customers, having been a member for YEARS, and all that I will be dropping my membership. They are not a gym you want to go during peak hours. There is no space, and they've recently added mats that a member is not allowed to touch. It's for the initial incoming test for personal training purposes only. However the mat remains on the turf 24/7 taking up valuable space. More equipment is added yet the space is VERY limited.
Also they put signs ON EVERYTHING in the women's room. It used to be one motivational sign and a don't flush tampons. Now there's new signs all the time. Don't flush the toilet with your feet, don't take pictures of people in locker room (duh) wash your hands after using the toilet etc. 1 sign with rules would look better.

I was member for 3 plus years. Got the membership due to onsite kids drop off zone. But soon they changed policy that now you have to call in advance if you are bringing kids which for busy parents is not easy to schedule and I almost stopped going there even though had membership.
Finally I decided to cancel membership and called them but they said you have to come in and sign paperwork!
Well they didnβt needed my sign on anything when they increased my membership fee during this time.
I went in to sign things up but come to know my membership will camcel not at the end of current billing cycle but I also will continue to be member for one more month!
Wish they would tell you these things when you sign the contract with him but at that time they told me no gimmicks.

I stopped in today with my son (2/2, 12:45pm) just to get a protein shake. As I come through the front door I see a female employee working at the shake counter with nobody in line at all. Standing right in front of her, I ask her if they have shakes or just smoothies and she completely ignores my question and starts mumbling under her breath. As I keep eye contact and wait patiently for her to respond, I notice that she wasn't going to so I asked her If she was too busy and couldn't take my order. She says "usually there is 2 people at the counter and they take care of this, but what do you want? As I look around and see that it's still just us in line and no line accumulation, I thought this was extremely rude so I decided to just leave since making a shake was too much for her to obviously handle all at once so I did her a favor and left. If you don't like your job, then quit. Life's too short to waste your time somewhere that makes you miserable. Then you end up rubbing your miserableness on everyone else. Thanks for trying to ruin my day

Place will charge you relentlessly. Good luck cancelling your membership here. Decent gym but the fees are extremely shady. Took 5 months to cancel a membership. How is that even possible? You can't even cancel over the phone... It's bordering on criminal practices. Stay away and join one of the many other decent gyms around.

When I initially signed up I was told it was a 24 hour gym. It's not.
When I initially signed up there was no mention of yearly fees in addition to the monthly membership.
I went to the gym yesterday during their normal hours and it was closed.

Great management and clean gym. There is a steam room and there are plenty of lockers. Also, there are a lot of cardio machines and varied classes throughout the day. A negative would be that the weight area can get crowded. There is childcare available, depending on the plan you take.

If I could leave no stars I could. The management in Chelmsford is the worst. The assistant manager is an obnoxious jerk. God help you if you have any financial issues. I put my membership on hold because of a car accident and they charged me over two grand in training fees. They didn't stop my training even though I asked and refused to give me my money back. All they care about is money. Unexplained random fees come out of your bank account. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!

I was quite interested in visiting this new fitness facility, though fairly distant from both my current fitness center and where I reside, to reacquaint myself with many of the excellent fitness instructors that had left my gym to come here. Their "leader" (the former Group X Director of Best Fitness) was the motivational factor for them to follow her here perhaps ... EXCEPT that the Group X Studio is quite "petite" and the more popular classes (ex. Barre and Pilates) quite packed! If you feel comfortable in cramped quarters, then by ALL MEANS ... I, for one, certainly do not. Frankly, I cannot say that I felt particularly welcomed in any class, for that matter. Oh, well . . .
And now for the true disappointment... I had reached out to the Manger (Dave), in order to sample a SPIN Class, only to arrive and be "lassoed " into giving my personal info (including banking) for a 2-Week "FREE" Try-Out. After that time, I'd let Manger know if I wished to continue, or not? That is when I walked away with an uneasy feeling that I might have been "coerced" in some way. Well... the gym is too small, too cramped, too far, too unwelcoming, and so, I notified the Manager via E-mail (as I was supposed to) that I would NOT be joining. I got no response back, except that my account was debited for the monthly dues once more. He conveniently delayed responding, only to state that I might have taken "too long" to get back to him! Excusez-moi? I was "automatically" signed-on to pay for a FULL year's membership, without a copy of the contract given to me! His contention and condescension towards me in stating that I had not listened to his "sales pitch" carefully enough, was pure asininity! There is nothing amiss with my IQ, sir, but something seriously lacking with the managers' level of communication, accountability & leadership, across the board, at this club (yes, including Group X Director's Steph). Needless to say, an apology offered for any "misunderstanding" with respect to contractual stipulations, would have appeased this prospect's negative commentary. Sadly, this club does not hold dear to it's heart, the old adage- "The customer is ALWAYS right!"... and, furthermore, I was informed that I will no longer be "welcomed", if I chose to return. Not a Choice, surely, had I then but to be feeling a distinct chill in my wee little heart!

BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN SIGNING A CONTRACT. The gym itself is nice, but the bathrooms were usually less than clean and the contracts are shady. I signed a 1 year and turns out you get charged a $50 admin fee in September. I cancelled only to get ANOTHER charge. I was told that last charge would be in February which made sense since it was a 1 year contract signed in March. Now the manager says it's a March to March contract. Give me a break. Great trainers but BE VERY CAREFUL on the contracts. I used to be a member of Anytime Fitness in Billerica and never had a problem with the contracts like this place. I was leaving a happy customer, but now I'm pissed because not all the facts were presented clearly. They rush to sign you and leave you hanging.

I will never trust this gym again. I was treated with disrespect, and every time I go in that gym, I get extremely uncomfortable because of the way I was treated. I donβt care if anybody comments on this review and tryβs to tear me down. this gym is all about the money money money and thatβs all they will ever be about. It makes me sick to my stomach. I should have never stepped foot in this gym, I shouldnβt have met any of them because their just mean and treat people with disabilities horribly. I hate this gym, and Iβm gonna go to best fitness.

Been a member here for a few months now and its perfect for my needs. Convenient and the equipment is newer. Dumbbells up to 125lbs. My only complaint is the space is tight. I don't go during busy times but I know it does get pretty jammed in the free weight area. Over-all great gym!
