The gym SHOULD be open at 5 a.m. Mon-Fri and 7 a.m. on weekends. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. You just have to hope and pray that an employee will show up to open it up👎

If you need a gym that you can come to after work and work out, good luck. It consistently has one of the three available leg extensions broken on top of having one of the rudest managers, Vania. I’ve had the unpleasant experience to speak with her twice, with both times her accusing me of not signing in properly/not having paid for my membership/being at the wrong gym. Both times she was incorrect but she held an attitude for the entire conversation. On our second interaction I even asked why she felt it right to speak to me that way and received the same tone. After proving her wrong (my membership was active/at the right gym/and no fees on my account), she proceeded to NOT take up the issue with the actual person who did not sign in properly.
Edit: After going through other reviews and speaking with employees, it’s clear there is a persistent issue with management personal at this location

The worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. The general manager “vanya” was extremely rude when it came to canceling my membership. I cancelled it through the app multiple times on the app how their staff suggests & would still be charged every month. They send my account to collections & all Vanya had to say was “too bad pay it”. I’ll be filing a complaint with the Federal trade commission.

It's fine as far as offerings and you can get a good workout but it's incredibly unsafe. Not a single customer reracks their weights, or removes them from the machines after they're finished. The gym doesn't enforce proper etiquette and I've never been to a gym where this many people refuse to put their weights away. Weights are strewn all over the floor. I've tripped multiple times (including on the matting that is always lifting from the floor near the benches.) Today is the second time I've dropped a weight on my foot due to the hazardous way they're racked to the very edge because people will put 45 lb plates on high rungs, over top of 5 and 10lbs weights. I've been lifting in many gyms for many decades and have just never experienced this kind of crowd-mentality for carelessness. In part, it might be more beneficial for the reracking stations to be in more areas near the machines so people aren't just discarding them on the floor.

I never had a problem with this gym. I loved the staff and vania (manager). But it's impossible to go there after 4pm, the equipments are always busy. The gym is also very disorganized (customers fault) besides the effort of the staff to keep organizing. Please guys put the weights and others stuff in the right place. I bet you like to find what you are looking for when you are trying to work out.

2.5* be prepared to wait for every machine you wanna use, even when it’s not super busy. Some machines aren’t the best in terms of comfortability in doing exercises. Cable accessories are missing half the time and also as of lately the the cables and other machines would be out of order. Good normal gym i guess

I stayed at this gym for 2 years and honestly, it was a terrible experience. The staff at the reception were always rude, never greeted anyone, never smiled, and acted like they didn’t want to be there. Not once did I feel welcome walking in. It’s like basic manners don’t exist there. On top of that, the gym is always overcrowded and I had to wait forever just to use a machine. I’ve finally switched to a better gym where the staff are actually friendly and the place is well managed. I should have left a long time ago.
Looks like this place only hire rude people, purposely leaving out the kind ones.

I've been a member at this gym since 2022 and it used to be so good. Now, a lot of the machines are broken, it's over crowded, the AC is barely on in summer, they have super loud music blasting from the cross fit section, and sometimes they have people at the entrance trying to sell you stuff? I don't want to be sold stuff while I'm trying to work out!
It's still relatively clean and they have a decent selection of machines (when working) hence the 2 stars. Find another gym if you can.
July 2025 EDIT: it's worse than ever. Packed with people constantly, machines always broken. Just avoid completely.

I was a participant in the personal training program. I had a great experience with the personal trainers but encountered a lot of issues with management and the billing system.
Whenever I approached the General Manager about my personal training program, he would tell me to email him and then not respond to my emails. Since many reviews stated they had billing issues, I wanted a written confirmation about the downgrade of my plan, but it was impossible to get an email response from Mike. I had to email and approach him multiple times about this issue. There should be an automated system that sends out email confirmations of downgrades/ cancellations without us even asking.
There was a particularly frustrating incident with Mike when I had a question about the contract for the downgrade of my Personal Training plan, and he told my Personal Trainer who was completely new to the gym to handle the issue and left the scene. My kind Personal Trainer tried to help me to the best of his abilities, but he was unable to answer my questions or confirm anything because he was new to the system.
When you downgrade your program, they make you sign the same contract you signed when you first enrolled in the program. The contract says you are obligated to a 3 month program, but they ‘verbally’ tell you because it’s a ‘downgrade,’ you won’t be beholden to the 3 months stated in the contract. They should have a separate contract for downgrades that specifically states that clients aren’t obligated to fulfill the 3 month plan and can cancel at any time with a 30 days notice.
Moreover, because they use a third party company to handle the billing, you have to contact ‘First Credit Services,’ a debt collecting company, yourself when you want to cancel your gym membership. (The receptionist gave me their name and number.) For some reason, each time I call, they are unable to pull up my account even when I provide my full name, account number, phone number, and email. They also ask me “how I heard about their company,” etc., which seems very suspicious. Thus, I am having issues canceling my gym membership.
There is a staff member who Mike relies on a lot because of her tenure, and she is rude. I heard her laughing about a bad review someone wrote about her. It’s not surprising that the gym has so many bad reviews when the General Manager and the staff member he relies on are so rude and unprofessional.

Disappointing First Experience at Crunch Fitness – Unwelcoming & Rude Manager (I believe)
I visited Crunch Fitness (a month ago) using a guest pass after my sister encouraged me to try it out. Despite completing everything online beforehand, my first impression was awful. When I arrived, I stood at the front counter for 4-5 minutes with my guest pass, completely being stared at like I don’t belong there by who I believe was the manager (a lady working there). For someone new to the gym, this was incredibly discouraging. If this is how they treat guests, I can’t imagine how they treat actual members. The lack of basic customer service made me never want to return. If I could I’d give a zero rating.

I've been a loyal member of this gym for several years and have shown up almost daily. Sadly, my experience has been tainted by ongoing issues that remain unaddressed.
The front desk manager’s behavior is consistently unprofessional and unwelcoming. On multiple occasions, I’ve observed clear bias in how members are treated, creating a disappointing and uncomfortable environment for those who just want to focus on their health and fitness. A gym should be a place of encouragement and respect—not one where favoritism and cold attitudes are the norm.
Additionally, the cleanliness of the men's restroom is far below any acceptable standard. It’s disheartening to see such little attention paid to sanitation in a space that demands hygiene and upkeep. For a facility that promotes physical wellness, it's alarming to witness neglect in such a basic area.
I genuinely hope management takes this feedback seriously. Members like myself care deeply about this place and simply want a more professional, inclusive atmosphere—and a clean restroom.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience. As a person of color, I felt singled out and unwelcome. I brought my girlfriend, who is Black and Latina, and unlike previous visits where guests were allowed in without issue, we were suddenly told she had to sign up for a free trial to enter. Which when I brought my other friends (who were white) they were never asked to.
A middle-aged white woman with black hair, who was working at the front, gave us a noticeably dirty look and acted cold from the start. The other woman at the front with blonde hair questioned my membership status even though I’ve never had issues before. Later, she changed her tone and said it was fine and that I could just pay the balance on the 15th. If that was the case, why make it an issue in the first place?
The whole interaction felt racially charged, especially compared to how I’ve seen other (white) patrons treated. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who isn’t white or who expects to be treated with basic courtesy and fairness.

I used to like this gym, been a member for 2 years, but they are terrible! Just so you know, if you miss a payment even for 2 days you’ll pay $150!!!! That’s what they charged me once! But that’s not even what made me stop going, one day I forgot my AirPods case for a few hours and someone took it, when I went back at the gym to look for it all the boys at reception (20yo brainless dudes) looked more confused than me. The woman Vânia probably was PMSING cause she came in just saying “hmmmm they didn’t stole it, she left it here” just rude, rude rude. Don’t go to this gym, work out at home. Anything is better than this gym.

If you would like a gym where the manager is useful and attentive to your concerns, don’t come to this one. The manager of this gym, Vania is unprofessional. I had a personal training charge to my account that shouldn’t have occurred because at this location because I transferred to another location. So I called this location twice in one day looking for the manager who is the only person that can cancel personal training, who was not there in the location both times when I called 2 hours apart. The second time I provided my name and phone number and was promised they would have the manager call me back who SURPRISE did not call me back. So on the next business day, I went into the gym and I spoke to the manager and she asked for my phone number to look up my account and at the time I had forgotten I had more than one account with my phone number [ I confirmed with employees from another location that if you look someone up with their phone number it will show all associated accounts and the status of the accounts ex if if is active or not]. The manager proceeds to go into the account that is inactive instead of going into the account that is active and told me there were no charges to cancel or history of me being charged, when in reality she could have gone back and checked the other account just in case. Regardless, I understand that things need to be done in person and there are miscommunications or maybe she didn’t notice it or ignored it, but if I’m vocalizing frustration to you and I inform you of this. Like 10 minutes after leaving the location I called back and informed her to check the other account, i was placed on hold for over 12 minutes and had to call back to remind them I was on hold
and needed to speak with her. When I finally got her on the line, she brushed me aside and instead of apologize or stating that she had missed it or anything, she placed the blame on me saying it was because one account was with Samantha and the other was with Sam but ALL OF THE OTHER INFORMATION WAS THE SAME. She then proceeds to tell me to come in another day to speak with Alex who set me up with the trainer in the first place. When it shouldn’t be like that, if you are a manger you should be able to deal with the issue regardless of who opened the account. I have had no other issues with any other staff and really liked my trainer, Nate, he is amazing. But there is no reason it should be this complicated to cancel this. So if useful and attentive management matters to you, maybe think twice before coming to this location or just steer clear of her.

The staff is mad chill when it comes to the dress code, it may say online no jeans or crocs or stuff like that but they dont care ill walk in with jeans on and they dont mind. I've been going to this gym for a year now and been loving it. Its cheap in comparison to other gyms with the 10$ memebership. I want more squat racks and less treadmills because why so many treadmills and only 5 squat racks? People use them alot and wish there were more open ones. But besides that its amazing equipment to target all muscles. They also have a fridge for protein shakes if u dont have protein shakes at home

I have been going to this gym for two years and it is a solid gym in a good location. There is plenty of equipment and it has a great layout. The spacious studio is especially a plus. The staff is helpful and Laura in particular is a great personal trainer who always makes me feel welcome. Alex, at the front desk is also very kind and has helped me on several occasions.
The gym can get very busy and it's worth going earlier in the morning.

This Crunch has the most ideal layout. While warming up from the stair master I was able to plan my route for the workout as this was my first visit. The bathrooms were spacious and ok clean. The staff was super friendly and chill. There's plenty of equipment variety.
The only Con was the gym members. It was very obvious they don't follow the typical gym courtesies. One of the members attempted to take 2 plates of 10lbs as I was actively using them and there were plenty of others near him. Many other members had strong body odor. Way more than usual.
I wouldn't mind returning, but I will try to visit at a different time. It was very surprising how full this gym was at 10am on a Wednesday.
Another note, there was an abdominal section. This was very unique as I didn't have to look for space. Huge plus!

They promote misleading advertising! It is not as easy to cancel their membership as they make it look like. Once they get your card info they'll take every opportunity to get more money from you. You need to pay an annual fee before you can even cancel. You can not freeze or pause your membership. You'll be charged extra money if you want to downgrade your membership at any point. If you are a parent, you should know that minors aren't allowed at the gym at all, even sitting in the waiting area with a grown-up. Read the contact carefully and do not only trust people at the front desk trying to sell you that membership.
Also, the manager is very rude and unprofessional.

I recently signed up with one of the personal trainers Laura. She was so welcoming as soon as I walked in and signed me up for a kick off training session with her. I liked that we were able to talk and get to know each other a bit. To give her a sense of what my goals were to set up a plan and reach them together. I look forward to my sessions with her because she pushes me and motivates me to work harder and stay consistent. (And not skip meals, lol)

This WAS my spot a few days per week while I'm living here temporarily. A bit of a cash grab manner there has changed my opinion, although I enjoyed spin class and HIIT. The guest limitations are a deterrent to the membership. Initially clean premises last spring are less so now in the autumn, as possibly staff is reduced. Beware some more popular machines tend to have a bit of wait for your turn.

Worst Gym ever.!!!! I pay $1 dólar for a tryout. I try the Gym 2 times and I do not wish to continue i didn’t like it. This company Crunch Malden they keep charging me every month and since September I call to cancel, since Sep I request the cancelation of the membership in October I got charge $46.99 and in top of that they charge me $69.99 for a anual membership for a gym that I am not going to used. Pretty disorganized. I’ve been training there since 2022. Once the girl in the front desk was really rude to me, she literally screamed at me. Then, a personal trainer made me pay for his work, and instead of sending me the workout, he transferred me to another personal trainer, which did not send me the workout. So basically, I just wasted a lot of money. A lot of the times, when I go there, the are a lot of machines broken, not working. Also, on Monday, at 6/7 pm, we barely have space to do anything, because there’s a whole activity group of people there, where we usually stretch. Well, terrible management.

I never been at this gym. I setup everything on line, but I called them to have a information before show up. They didn’t accepted what I was looking for so I asked by email a cancellation. They refuse to cancel, I requested at my bank the refund disputing the transaction. They change the way of charges and continue the charges plus the charge that the bank gave me back because I’m right.
I just spoke with the bank and they said the gym is using my card and reporting how I’m at the place. I never went at this space. Show me in videos how I used my card at your gym?
I attached here the claim of fraud that I gained with my bank and this company change the name and still charge.
Now I would like to know how they are using a physical card if I NEVER BEEN at this place. Never walked in.
They will need to awnser to all of this, to the police and the court.

I don’t recommend this gym at all. The staff are incredibly rude, the bathrooms are consistently dirty and smelly, and the overall gym environment has an unpleasant odor. The official website has not updated the specific operation of "cancelling membership" for a long time, resulting in the need to call others to communicate after going to the gym. The customer service on the phone was even worse in terms of attitude and efficiency. He canceled the call many times on the pretext that my family might not be fluent in language, and used the false story that other customer service would call back and communicate with us within a day or two (there was no phone call at all, resulting in an extra month's fee). Based on the above experience and other customer reviews, I firmly gave the negative review. This gym is clearly a money grab and there is no sign of any change in behavior, if this continues, I think it will not be in operation for long (it will soon close down due to loss of customer trust).

I became a gym member in 2022, with the monthly fee set at $31.99 and an annual fee of $100 charged in December. However, in the last three months of 2023, the gym charged above the agreed amount, and after I complained, they gave me one month free of charge. But this already made me feel that I needed to keep an eye on my credit card statement every month, since three months had gone by without me noticing, and I only realized it after my daughter, who is also a member, had warned me. In other words, I started to distrust the gym. Shortly after, a month later, in May of this year, they charged the annual fee again, even though it had already been charged in December. That’s when the headache began! After so many charges and complaints to the manager, and with her sending emails to those responsible, I only got the refund in July when I decided to cancel my membership. Another headache! Why? Because to become a member, all you have to do is walk into the gym and talk to anyone, and they’ll happily sign you up on the spot, taking your bank account or credit card details. But to cancel, you have to send an email and call persistently, expressing your strong desire to cancel, and if you don’t make another monthly payment, which in my case was $31.99, they won’t cancel it. Moreover, they sent a document saying I would still be responsible for the annual fee. Absurd! This gym is a joke. Think three times before signing any documents or becoming a member because if you want to leave, it will be a headache. Not to mention, they overcharge you!

I am totally disappointed with this gym.
A year ago I got a membership and wanted to cancel it, but I couldn't because they told me I had a contract, which they didn't tell me about when they gave me the membership. I insisted again that I wanted to cancel and they told me to wait a year, which I did. Today, August 13, I called again to cancel and they charged me $120 to cancel the membership. It's a scam because they said that the annual membership had been reactivated because I signed up last year. It's ridiculous.

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service/ownership at Malden Crunch. Not only is their customer service lacking, but they also outsource their payment and finance department, making it nearly impossible to cancel a membership.
Despite calling numerous times to cancel my membership, I was continuously charged. The process to cancel is convoluted and unresponsive, forcing me to pay hundreds of dollars for a service I no longer wanted. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and unfair.

This gym isn't as good when it was originally at the Medford location. More importantly, they make it impossible to cancel. No one respond to your email or calls to cancel but they will harrass to make payment on a membership I'm no longer interested in. I mostly wanted to downgrade my membership or a break from the gym, but because of the customer service and difficulty to cancel, this place has left bad taste in my mouth. I won't return.

To begin with the General manager is totally unprofessional, rude and lacks costumer service skills.
So I personally cancelled my membership in the gym with the gm back in January of this year, which I had to paid 149$ for because of agreements of cancellation, I didn’t care I just didn’t want to come back.
Today after 6 months I noticed I got charged for 47$ from this place. Call ABC solution and was told that my account was still open.
I went directly to crunch Malden to ask about this. As I said before the General manager really try to lied to me, telling me my account was never closed, because it would show my signature in the system, and keep on discussing and being rude about, telling me it was my fault for no sign it ???? That’s insane. I show her emails, bank’s statements and every information I could to verify my cancellation on the time. Finally after hearing a bunch of nonsense from her trying to hide her mistake she couldn’t even own up. I had to sign my cancellation AGAIN, which I took pictures so I doesn’t happen again. I went to ask her if I could bring this situation further up and she replied it wasn’t an option nobody else besides herself could do anything.
I’m trying to get a hold on the district manager because this nonsense is sue-able.

I started at this gym in Jan 2024 and I love the staff. The machines are significantly better than my last gym and the trainers are good. I see Gus for personal training which has helped immensely with my joint pain. The location has a huge parking lot which helps. The staff once again, amazing, super friendly and personable.

Best gym in the area most gyms have 2 bench presses (La fitness Saugus) or not friendly staff (ultraflex) crunch fitness malden has a overwhelming variety of equipment and the best gym staff I have came across they really make you feel good to be there. There’s no pushy sales people and I love that all the personal trainers actually want to help you with workouts I’m not comfortable with!

Great staff. I’ve been going consistently since the gym opened. The gym is now continuously packed, lots of high schoolers in crowds playing in the gym… whether it’s pushing around, rough housing or wrestling. It’s a gym, the staff should upkeep some sort of etiquette to that/their behavior.
Machines continuously seem to be broken, usually 2-4 pieces/machines are broken at a time for months now. Additionally A LOT of the time clips for the machines are missing. There’s usually 2-3 machines that cant be used, if you cannot take the clips from other pieces of equipment…. When you have a packed gym you obviously can’t take clips from other machines… people with memberships shouldn’t have to take clips from other machines to use them in the first place. GYM CLIPS ARE NOT EXPENSIVE a set of TWO HEAVY DUTY CLIPS/CARABINERS are NINE/9 DOLLARS per set. Who ever manages this gym can’t even order replacement clips.

I went in TWICE last year to cancel my membership. I signed digitally on their system both times… but continued to get charged. It is now March 2024 and I finally got my membership cancelled (hopefully) but management was not sympathetic and didn’t own up to their mistakes.
It was my fault for not realizing sooner that after the second attempted cancellation that I was still getting charged… but the fact their system didn’t record my past two signatures and they decided to charge me for the next month (because I need to give 30 days notice) is should in part be illegal… and also just bad customer service.

Why I’m saying is I was out of state for 2 months and I told manager/Her put it on hold until I come back but she didn’t 😨😨 I asked her about it If I can get refund or something ? She said NO, she didn’t remember anything !!!! What a shame!! No regrets at all. Not trying to be rude with anyone but you have be professional.

I have never told I’m going to charge $59.99 membership. I called about it and one of employee told me to talk with manager.
On 2024, I have been charged $69.99. Are you increasing every year? You should notice before changing anything to all clients on this year.

As we approach the time of year where we all like to sign up to the gym for the holidays or as our New Years Resolutions, please think twice before going Crunch Fitness! You will want to read this review all the way through!
I signed up at the Malden, MA facility…
Pros: facility looks really nice and they have a lot to offer! Personal trainer was knowledgeable and was probably the best part of the experience. Staff members appear knowledgeable and nice and make all the joining offers and perks sound wonderful… but its all sales pitch…

Cons: Brief background…. I am a teacher and was looking for something for the summer months to help aid in recovery post a car accident. I went to Crunch and explained my expectations. Upon signing up I was told they were running a promotion for the sign up fee and yearly fee which makes it an excellent time to sign up, especially since I was not sure if I could commit beyond the summer.
Sounds convenient right?
First couple months were fine, the trainer was helpful.. then at the beginning of August I gave my notice to cancel for September. I called several times and left messages. I was told to put my request in writing which I did.
No response- emailed again a week later.
Manager emailed me saying I was all set and my cancellation was processed for both membership and PT.
$ 3 separate transactions were charge after cancellation- random charges
I emailed with screen shots to the manager above asking for an explanation… NO RESPONSE
Filed a claim with my bank and put in a stop order
MORE MONEY WASH CHARGED TO MY ACCOUNT a couple weeks later from Crunch in in another city entirely. I called Worcester and spoke to someone on the phone who explained my account was still active and had never been canceled. I was also charged my year sign up fee (the one that was waved in the promotion… so I was told) AND AGAIN FILED WITH MY BANK
Called Malden Crunch to talk to the same manager who supposedly helped me before… She explained the turn over of management and could not guarantee that the staff was properly trained in procedures and policies. ( Mind you, she was the one processing my past cancellation - so who doesn’t have proper training?) She tried to get me to come in for personal training claiming I was charged and haven’t used them. NO KIDDING I CANCELLED A MONTH AGO. They were trying to make it look like I was using the facility so they could continue to charge me…. At this point I am furious!!! Manager claimed she was cancelling the membership (WEIRD SINCE SHE ALREADY SUPPOSEDLY DID WEEKS BEFORE) Knowing there “he said she said game, I followed up with our conversation in writing again summarizing the conversation.
NO RESPONSE
After discussing my experience with many others on social media I have learned that this is a common practice/ scam that Crunch runs. I was even contacted by someone who had moved states and was refused cancellation ad continued to be charged for months… and another person who physically changed her debit card because they were relentlessly taking out money….
Kills me that they are taking advantage of people… Imagine if I had fallen for the “discount for signing up withy your account number rather than debit card scheme”
I am in the process of still filing but I am out hundreds and hundreds at this point. Don’t let them do the same to you!

I do genuinely really enjoy this gym. Cost is average compared to all the others in the area, but the size of this place is tough to beat. It can be tough to find machines or free weights you need at peak hours but typically I have no issues there.
Only complaints I’d have are that the treadmills have issues, most weeks it seems like about 1/4 of the ones they have don’t work. Then a bunch of the other ones have issues with their walking belts. In my experience when you try and jog/run at any speed above like 5.5mph the belt seems to be loose and any given step can lead to your foot pushing forward and throwing off your rhythm, loosing your balance, at higher speeds this can be a far worse issue.
Secondly, the bathrooms could use some work, whether it’s missing toilet paper, trash, wet floors, unflushed toilets (most of these are more a detriment to the other gym goers who I wish would be more courteous and just clean up after themselves and also re-rack their weights in the proper spots). Just be an adult.

I started at this gym with their plus membership and a personal training package but now I am downgrading to their basic membership after a couple of months. It seems that Crunch Malden has issues with turnover which probably affects the quality. My issue is that I can't rely on anything besides the gym being open when I go. I have shown up to multiple classes that the instructor decided not to show up to. Oh and one time my personal trainer no showed at our session. I actually have lost money because the time it took to switch from my last trainer to my new trainer with no Crunch fitness manager to assist was two weeks and sessions don't roll over month to month. I expect to see a few out of order signs when I go into the gym because for some reason, it takes them long to repair the machines. So I downgraded because for 10 dollars a month this gym is worth it. But I would never pay for the extras at this location.

My dad was a member of Crunch Fitness for a bit, and he paid for a personal trainer, too. After a couple of months, he felt confident, and he went to cancel the personal trainer before his 3 month contract was up.
Mike said to send him an email detailing the fact that he wants to cancel his involvement in the program, but he was still getting charged for it. In the contract, it says that if you get charged after the cancelation, they have a couple of days (maybe 3-5 business days) to pay you back; they kept charging him for months.
He got in contact with Mike, and Mike said that he would return the money ($360), but he still hasn't returned what my dad is owed. My dad printed out the email he had sent as proof, and Mike said he would get it done; still, nothing has been done.
This happened in early October of 2022, and now it's August of 2023, and the money still hasn't been returned. My dad took time off of work to try and get in contact with Mike to no avail. My dad no longer goes to Crunch Fitness because it left a bad taste in his mouth

Before you join this gym, do pay attention to the people who mention management problems. And read on if you are in the process of trying to cancel because here I share what finally worked for me. If you *must* join because it's the only gym close to you (it probably isn't), be sure to use a dedicated card you can freeze like those on privacy dot com because that way you can make sure they don't charge you outside of what you expect.
Cancelling my membership was a 5-month ordeal with almost $100 in hidden fees on top of the annual fee, despite me following the instructions in the signed contract. I was lied to in person at the gym, where they froze my account instead of giving me the cancellation I explicitly requested. The manager ignored calls and emails, and Fitness Holdings LLC said on a call that they defer to the local manager. What unlocked my cancellation through the Fitness Holdings LLC number, finally, was giving them a copy of my cancellation request sent by USPS Certified Mail. The agent on the phone finally offered to send me cancellation paperwork in exchange for payment of the outstanding balance. This option was not given in previous calls, so make sure you send the letter to the address on the contract by Certified Mail and then contact the Fitness Holdings LLC number to advocate for yourself.
Never in my two decades of frequenting gyms did I have to deal with such an impossible situation and I am keeping my eyes on the reviews here because we have enough evidence all together to file a formal complaint through the Consumer Protection office in Massachusetts. In recent years, the Attorney General has engaged in litigation against certain gyms with similar predatory practices, so if you're here for the same reason, please consider filing your own complaint. Look up "File a Consumer Complaint" on the Mass gov website.

This gym is a scam. The management has no issue having relations with clients and when things go badly they take it out on the client.
Management told a client they place a hold on the account so they wouldn’t have to pay until renewal to save money and then cancel the membership. Then their relationship ended and the manager billed her over $100 in membership fees.
She has since reached out to corporate because the location is of no help in resolving and has yet to get a response even from them. This makes me (and hopefully everyone) assume that they only care about your money and not how the customer is being treated.
On top of that they can’t be bothered to clean or fix anything as you can read by the many reviews calling out these problem at this location. So the real question is, why bother? There are plenty of gyms that will love to have you in the area and treat you and your body with the respect it deserves.

1- The men’s locker room smells terrible and is dirty.
2- Dumbbells are rarely where they’re supposed to be.
3- Broken machines that are not addressed right away to get repaired.
4- Only one machine for calves (currently broken).
5- People setting up tripods to record themselves to further feed their narcism.

I called back in March to put my account on hold for three months I got charged for two of those months. So I call back when I realized to put it on hold. I thought that I could trust them but after today I was charged again, and my account was not on hold. I went inside. Spoke to the manager Mike and asked if I could get my refund. But he stated that if you do not email the request to put your account on hold, then it never happened even though I had called them and spoke with their staff, their staff did not put in any notes so I do believe that the manager Mike needs to go through a thorough training with the staff that told me to educate them on notifying these major policy information but also that when people call to request a hold that their staff requests that they email the request to crunch fitness. Once they send me the contract, I will read through it and highlight all the flaws that people may look over so that any reviewer can make it easier for them to be prepared with their decision.
The staff and Mike were polite with me so I left with no negativity about the staff. All I ask is that there is proper training and explaining in the future.

if you are looking for a gym to transform your body, this is definitely not a good choice, the gym is always crowded, there are several teenagers playing wrestling in it, the bathrooms are always dirty… and today something happened that made me decide to cancel the membership signing with them, when a woman who works giving aerobics classes, just came screaming in my ear while I was doing my exercise, she didn't even wait for me to finish and with all rudeness asked me to leave the place, the people around saw the situation when I looked at them and they still shook their heads at the attitude that the person who works there did, well, I don't recommend it. I'm going back to a la fitness, even the Planet fitness gym looks better.

Avoid this gym, save your money, I had a really bad experience at this location that I went for a year hoping it would change, around here LA fitness or Planet fitness is the better option. Management is rude, desinterested and unresponsive to members concerns and most of the time non existent, staff turnover rate is unreal, cleanliness is really bad throughout the whole gym but bathrooms are the definitely the worst, broken equipment is everywhere. Lastly, felt like a place where motivation and enthusiasm go to die, rather than a space that encourages and supports fitness goals.

Updating my review after working out here for a few months. I really enjoy the free weight area. Lots of gyms in the area don't have free weights; they just have smith machines, which I really dislike. Usually, I can get a rack right away or after a short wait.
The one thing I wish they did re: free weights is have a sign up list for when it's busy. There have been times where I'm finishing up a set and someone is waiting and another person tries to swoop in and take the rack. Having a better system would make it more fair and efficient.
The gym is pretty clean and the equipment seems new and maintained. I enjoy that there are also heavy weight bags as I practice Muay Thai and not many gyms have them.
The only downside is how they do the pricing. I had a base membership, but because I didn't do the year long, it went from $10 to $15. Then there is a "convenience" charge for using a credit card. It's not that much, but it wasn't explained up front.

Malden location has been struggling to open at 5am and looks like they don’t care about people who can only workout in the morning or take bus etc. Every week you 2/3 days if you workout in the morning you will be sitting on parking lot for about 30 min until you decide to leave. But if your card expire and you forget to update it, you will be charged 13 dollars fee for a late payment. It makes no sense for me. Malden Location has a good potential but it’s been left to the ghosts.

Who doesn't love to work out? Crunch is big and has alot of things to do that other regular size Gyms dont have! If you havent ben to cruch and you want the extra extra work out..go to crunch.they also have zumba and yoga classses.

Its a great gym, but the charges are sketchy, ive had my membership for 2 years and they double charge at times and when asked why they just transfer to someone else with no answers. Also make sure to read the agreements because it gets sketchy after 1 year
