L❤️VE Down Under Yoga. This company and it’s offering iterally changed my life. The classes are the best part of my day. Bendex is not only a positive force to this business, but also humanity. The company is very lucky to have him. He makes everyone’s day (life) better. The studio is the best community I’ve ever been a part of.

Months late but wanted to say Lindsey is the best! Her classes were challenging but doable. Lindsey is such a nice person and shows she cares about her clients. Wish I could have stayed but I moved and online wasn't doable for me.

The South End is such a uniquely incredible studio!! So homey and down to earth, and yet lively and exciting at the same time. The vibe of the classes is exactly what I’ve been looking for in that it feels like a safe space to truly practice your asanas.

Staff and instructors are so friendly. It’s like a sanctuary to leave work, chat with friends, and step into class. I always leave refreshed!

I had the pleasure of visiting the South End studio for the first time this week! The collaboration between an organic cafe and yoga studio is so lovely! I had a wonderful morning taking a hot power flow and eating a nutritious and delicious meal! The Ocean Blue was also to die for and matched Down Under's branding blue which I loved as an avid Down Under fan~ If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend paying the studio a visit and getting something yummy to eat :)

The classes are always way too crowded. Just paid for an event that started late and ended over 10 minutes late. The “vinyasa” flow classes are all over the place. The only reason I still have a membership is for the Yin & Ashtanga. Having a yoga studio inside of a cafe is also extremely awkward!!!

I was in Boston for a work conference, staying in Back Bay, and dropped into Elliott's Mysore room on a Wednesday morning. As a traveling Ashtangi, it's always fun to visit other shala's and practice with their communities. I also believe it's more important than ever to support our Ashtanga community and our teachers by showing up in person.
Elliott was very kind and welcoming. He asked me where I was in my practice, if I had any injuries and if I was comfortable with hands-on assists.
I had a beautiful practice (that wasn't in my hotel room) aided with his amazing adjustments. There were different levels of practitioners in the room and he was attentive and helpful to everyone.
After practice, I treated myself to a delicious vegan Tahini, date shake. I had no idea the studio shared space with the cafe and it was such a treat (much like the old days of Jivamukti in NYC!).
I noticed Down Under School of Yoga has many locations and they offer a variety of classes (not all Ashtanga). They also have a lot of interesting workshops and it seems like a great community to be a part of if you live in Boston.
Thank you for a wonderful practice - I'm looking forward to my next visit!

This is the best spot to flow through an amazing yoga class and then enjoy a wonderful meal with friends afterward. The attached cafe environment is so warm and welcoming—I could seriously spend all day here!

The studios are always sparkling clean, creating such a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. And the teaching? Absolutely unmatched. Every instructor brings incredible expertise and genuine care, making each class feel like a truly transformative experience.

I don’t think I could ever go to another yoga studio again. Down Under Yoga in the South End has set the bar impossibly high! Highly recommend for anyone seeking a community-driven, high-quality yoga practice in a space that feels like home. 🧘‍♀️✨

It may be good for the young and fit; however, they don't have a class for Seniors or one that specifies slow Yoga. Sadly, they don't think of Seniors when so many are in the neighbourhood.

i went 10 times. i couldn't get any feedback on what i was doing wrong. maybe yoga isn't for me. i wish i didn't spend all that money on 10 passes. there was no advantage whatsoever compared to watching yoga videos online.

My home away from home! This studio has the warmest staff and the widest variety of classes. I'm a monthly member and it feels like I get a gym membership and a yoga membership for the price of one! The studios are beautiful and clean, the schedule offers lots of options from early morning, midday and night and the variety of yoga practices, strength training and sculpt available make this a no brainer. The fact that it is attached to a Life Alive Cafe with delicious, nutritious food is just the icing on the cake!

I am a member of the studio & truly appreciate all the kind, knowledgeable staff from the front desk, to the teachers, and the massage therapists! It is a bit tight in space (would love mat storage, maybe one day haha), but it's the people who make this space so special & healing.

Shout out to some specifically awesome humans: Tamar is an amazing & welcoming LMT; I am a repeat client because her energy & massage technique is just so soothing. Tori is the kindest studio manager who is super helpful. There are tons of great teachers, but Franny is next level. Her ability to read the room, her students, & guide us through regulating our nervous system is sublime. The South End studio is really special.

Love that Life Alive is also in the same location, so after practice, we can enjoy a lovely, nutritious meal. Such a mini-haven in the city 💖

I've been doing yoga for 10+ years and I have never come to a studio with such a stacked roster of amazing teachers and offerings! Every instructor is so good at what they do whether it's flow and restore or yoga sculpt. I love that they offer everything including Hot 26 on Sunday mornings with Jill!

Bonus this location is connected to a LifeAlive cafe so after class you can get a delicious and nourishing meal! Everyone is soso nice, I swear I would live here if I could!!!

10/10 Practice! My heated flow class with Lindsay was phenomenal— they were so knowledgeable, attentive, and energetic all throughout. I would definitely attend their class again, but at a different location.

Staff members were amazing, the receptionist was very sweet and kind! They explained the heated flow class expectations very thoroughly and made sure I was aware and comfortable before class. I truly appreciated the care.

***Downside: If you really need a place to practice, I comletely understand, but this space is definitely "pushing it" because there is just simply no space to move or settle down before and after classes. There is no waiting area, it felt like I was on top of everyone: students and cafe customers, while waiting. The studio is tucked inside of a cafe, which does not allow for adequate room to put shoes away or hang up bags/coats.

I also feel like this studio over-books itself because the room was packed the last time I attended. Wall to wall, there was probably about 45 students, there was no space comfortably practice.

This place has become an oasis of peace for me to revisit whenever I need to. The studios are absolutely beautiful, the facilities are clean, and the people are some of the kindest souls I have met in Boston. The caliber of yoga classes offered here is unparalleled and it doesn’t hurt that there is a delicious vegan friendly cafe (Life Alive) sharing the space with the studio!

Really adore this space and charmed by the symbiotic combination of fresh tasty foods and amazing yoga. The atmosphere has a family kind of feel, running between the studios is almost like porting through the family kitchen to different play spaces making the South End a really cozy and comfortable place to practice. I love how each studio gets a different angle of light and particularly enjoy the soft lighting of the large studio. The faculty provide an incredible breadth of yoga and fitness options with excellent expertise and depth. A perfect place where you can sweat with heavy weights, restore with blankets and bolsters in Yin or dance along in a spicy sculpt or poetic flow. Absolutely worth joining or stopping in when you’re in town - they even have great promos for visitors.

I love the classes, the staff and location. However 4 stars cause there have been many times now that I have not been able to join the class because they pack up the small rooms with lot of people at certain times. I think would be good if they would put a reasonable limit per class. The south room definitely cannot hold more than 35 people comfortably in it. And the north room perhaps 15.
