About the Club

NOTICE: Hours are limited in the Summer!

Ten years ago Brand New Ballgame was formed, and since then we’ve improved both our programming and coaching staff to create the premier training facility in southeast Massachusetts. Recently, Brand New Ballgame became under new ownership! Energy Baseball, Worcester's premier travel baseball program has expanded to continue the BNB focus on player development in baseball and softball! We have many surprises to come as we transition the facility name from Brand New Ballgame to Energy Athletics Wrentham! Within 3 years we have grown to over 200 baseball and 100 softball players in Wrentham with over 20 combined teams! We are also open to the public for all training/rentals.

My daughter played softball here for 3 years and the facility and ownership has gotten worse every year. It got so bad that our entire team left at the end of this season. In fact, all of the softball teams left.
The tunnels are always a mess. No one cleans up after themselves. There is broken equipment everywhere. We booked a tunnel with a softball pitching machine and there were exposed wires on the cord. I went to get another machine and there was only one prong on the plug. I emailed the owner and all I got was "there is another machine in there. Just take that one". The fix on those macines would be 10$ and 20 minutes but nope....lets just have bare wires waiting to electrocute someone.

It might be fine for baseball but when our softball team showed up for practice there would be buckets of baseballs in the tunnels, bases strewn everywhere, and most of the time, the practice before us would run over and we would lose some of our time.

I emailed the owner to voice my concern about the new conditioning format and hours. My 13 year old daughter would be working out next to 17 year old boys and the hours were impossible for anyone with a normal job and in response he called me and said "I am frustrated with your frustrations." There was never a point where he tried to see my side and work with his clients. Instead it was always about how we were wrong and inconveniencing him with any concerns we might have.

There are a ton of club teams all over the area. I would stay away from this place.

We are in our first year with Energy. So far the organization and communication has far exceeded our expectations. My son is thoroughly enjoying his teammates, coaches, and overall experience. We are excited for the season to start and are eager to see how his hard work and all the feedback and corrections from the coaches pays off.

Making the move to Energy, from a different local program, was the best decision we made for our kids. Ryan runs a top notch program, and we've had a great experience with all of the coaches we've had the pleasure to be around. I can't recommend this program enough for your kids.

Rox softball has been a wonderful program for my daughter. This is her 3rd year and she’s grown so much as a player. Love having softball all year long. Coaches are fantastic! Only thing I wish they had more availability for private lessons. Overall, we love Rox.

My daughter is currently in her second season with Energy Baseball, this program goes above and beyond by not only focusing on baseball skills but also incorporating weight training, extra lessons, and a community service project into its curriculum.

The coaching staff (Edwin Mendez, Rob Brown, Joe Porocelli ) just to name a few are exceptional, providing tailored training sessions that include strength and conditioning, which has significantly improved my daughters performance and confidence on the field. The extra lessons focus on skill development, that have helped her to refine her techniques in a supportive environment.

Moreover, the organization lead by Ryan Petrone is top-notch, with clear communication regarding schedules, events, and expectations. It’s evident that he and his team prioritize the players’ development and well-being. Overall, I highly recommend Energy Baseball to any parent looking to provide their child with an enriching and enjoyable baseball experience that prepares their child for success both in sports and in life!

Energy baseball is a top notch program. The coaches & staff take extra time to improve each player while keeping a focus on team improvement. They strive to build up players and strong teams. Communication is great. We won the championship our first year there with a new team. All the credit can be given to the coaches, we were able to see a group of new players starting out as under dogs develop into an unstoppable team with incredible talent. It is refreshing to see the coaches handle the games and practices calmly, and professionally, treating kids & parents with respect at all times. The summer tournaments are a big bonus. All the parents get along well

My daughter was looking for something more competitive than town softball as she might want to play in college. After one season, she doesn't want to play softball again. Don't join if you're a HS junior or senior.
Pros: Off-season practices to prepare for HS tryouts. Good indoor practice facility. Only one overnight tournament.
Cons: Coach clicks, player clicks, and parent clicks. Can't break into any of them after 13-14U. Preseason pomises of competitive team and position play time never materialized. Parent-coached, so coach's daughters always play (regardless of skill).
Bottom line: If you don't join before sophomore year, your tuition goes to padding team expenses.
Two months after the season ended, we're still disappointed.

I am absolutely thrilled with the Energy Baseball program. Coach Ryan has really done a great job finding a collection of the finest coaches in the area. He has established a culture of baseball and accountability. The coaching really transcends baseball and makes the kids better people teaching important life lessons as evidenced by the programs community service expectations. The coaching itself is disciplined but fun which keeps the kids engaged and thriving while developing at a speed that is appropriate for the individual and team. I have observed the coaches distill complex mechanical adjustments to the kids in a simple digestible manner that is always delivered in a positive respectful style. The team takes the long view on the kids development which is refreshing in the current win at all costs culture and in my opinion expedites the kids development to actually build winning baseball teams. I am ready to sign a long term contract with Energy Baseball

Ive got a 10 year old who loves baseball and plays AAU and we just wanted a place that he could practice at.

Lots of good things to say about this place...

These guys run a great facility. Its clean and organized and spaced out nicely. The staff is courteous and accommodating. Online scheduling so you can see what cages/ tunnels are available and great prices. Lots of discounts to take advantage of. All sorts of equipment available to use even if your just renting a cage.
Great place!
