Incredible gym but an even more incredible staff.

I just joined and I’m blown away by there accommodations. The manager, Chloe, gave me a great tour and allowed me to do a trial day to workout for free before I signed up. She’s also working to ensure I can pay for my membership upfront for reimbursement purposes from work.

Beyond that, the membership advisor, Ashley, set three of my friends up with trial passes so they can come check it out. They all were interested after I did my trial day. Ashley even let me keep my regular guest passes for emergencies. This is all within one day of me joining this gym.

This was definitely a great service and it shows how dedicated they are to their members and facilities. Highly recommend just off the people alone!

I am not a member of Equinox, but I wanted to leave this 5 star review for Melissa who is the best massage therapist at their spa. FYI: anyone can sign up for massages at Equinox Spa and spend the day afterwards using the gym’s amenities. I swear, Melissa is an angel on Earth and her talent is a gift from God. She is the best massage therapist I have ever had (trust me, I’ve gotten many). She is kind, warm, and her energy lights up the room. Her hands are strong, skilled, and literal magic. She found my painful knots right away and used expert/effective deep-tissue techniques to provide me with the relief I desperately needed. After my massage with her, I cried from my body finally being able to release all the tension I was holding inside. I researched and learned that what happened to me was called a “Somato Emotional Release.” I’ve never had this reaction with other massages, and I believe only highly trained, experienced massage therapists can evoke this powerful feeling. Melissa did what she does best and kneaded out my painful knots, but unbeknownst to her, she also helped me release the emotional burden I was holding inside. Getting a massage from Melissa was like giving my soul a much needed hug. We all carry so much in our bodies and don’t do enough self-care. This manifests itself into muscle tension and painful knots. So if you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and book an appointment with Melissa. She will have an everlasting impact on your mind, body, and soul.

I have to say overall the gym is super cool , Come in its Equinox , but the staff id just so unprofessional and super RUDE. It's not Equinox's style at all ! I came super tired , I was up since 4 am And I had a difficult court . The front desk lady was just extremely rude even though I said I want yo buy a membership. Then one associate came and signed me up. But after a man Named Nicn came , was super unprofessional looked like he is in depression or something , did not give me my 1 week trial saying I know what id Equinox ( so what??). Anyway, I did not enjoy even stay next yo him. By the way he asker me too many personal questions. I am totally confused and want to share with you, about doing business with Nick and his front desk rude lady. :((((

The gym was great when I first joined. Now it just crowded with a bunch of PT and their clients. Worst part is PT and their clients use 2 machine at the same time blocking every one else using those two. Save yourself a trouble and go to life time! For example they were using these 2 machines and no one can use either. This need to be addressed

Probably the worst Equinox in the Boston area. The main workout area is fine and the steam room isn’t bad when working. The water pressure in the men’s locker room is bad in most of the shower stalls and has been for 2 years. The food and drink selection is also bad.

Just a FYI for anyone joining that if you move, they will not cancel your membership without proof. They do not mention this directly in the contract and it’s just something to keep in mind.

I had some extenuating circumstances, and even though they were aware of me canceling and not using the gym anymore, they relentlessly charged me for months.

Even after I sent them proof, they insisted that I still needed to pay $444.00. Do not expect this company to make any exceptions. I could understand paying one extra month but they literally tried to charge me for 4, and I ended up actually only paying for two.

Anyways, be very wary with gym memberships. They will not give you any forgiveness or leniency. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t use their gym in months and if they are aware that you want to cancel, they will charge you relentlessly.

I’ll take some accountability that I should have sent proof a lot sooner. But again, I wasn’t doing well at the time. The whole asking for proof (not in contract), charging even though aware of customer wanting to cancel, and no forgiveness for any charges, is just insane.

The sales team were great but the Personal Training team was unprofessional. Just to clarify, the personal trainer is great and nice but the management team is not professional and they process the payment without my authorization. Be aware of it and regularly check your monthly statement.

I have never ever purchased any training session with them but they charged me on the card and put blame to me that I enrolled.

Also, they said no phone chatting in the restroom but the janitor is usually on the phone video call with his friend in the men’s room. Totally no privacy

The showers are cleaning but the people covering the stream room sensor so it keeps running for 10+ minutes while hacking out their lungs, singing at near a shout in the steam rooms, and the phone use in the steam room is really odd. The machines are still fine. Also people leaving shavings and their stuff all over the locker rooms is gross. High quality gym. Low quality people.

Was great now okay. First the people staff/trainers/members are great. Can definitely make some friends and the staff and nice and try to help. Classes are great - definitely recommended Precision Run. If a machine is taken people are usually really happy to let you get a set in when they rest. However cleanliness has gone down a bit. When I started end of April it was great and the locker rooms and showers were spotless, as one would expect for this level of club. Over the past couple of months the showers have green and reddish slime or something and the sink and stall area is not as clean. The store is closed almost every time I visit. I guess it’s only open 8-2 (staffing issues I assume). And there’s no fresh juice bar - just an open fridge and snack area. So some of the amenities that I expected with Equinox are either not here but still show that they were or are not up to standard - even for a regular club/gym. The floor of the club and locker areas however have kept up being really clean which is nice. Also if I’m to be the pickest person in the world the stair accent lighting is cool white while the rest of the club is neutral/near warm lighting. Also more black out shades and color LEDs in the PR room would be awesome.

Worst experience I had with booking a spa appointment. Their staff from the first attempt made mistake in booking a session with a recommended professional, then I patiently worked with the then general manager to fix the appointment. Little that I know, a chain of bookings happened without my knowledge and I turned into a ghost in their system, like I’m purposefully booking and not showing up. Not only Equinox leadership did not honor trail of mistakes they made, they are blaming me for missing multiple appointments for a single complementary session!! and they are making me pay for that complementary session.
They treat me as I’m purposefully lying over $100 when I’m paying $600 every month for three memberships!!! What a leadership…

I've been a member of Equinox for about 5 years now, and I've loved it from the start. The comprehensive package they offer is really what sets them apart from other gyms.

Really enjoying my membership at this Equinox. The classes are great, especially ones taught by Richard, Julie and Shai. I always enjoy my time here and they try to give their members a luxury experience. I love the sauna, spa, and pool facilities and the locker rooms, bathrooms and showers are always clean. I feel like the attitude at this Equinox is good, no judgment in the environment or from the floor trainers, everyone's positive. It is expensive at $200 a month, but you get what you pay for and it's one of the best gyms in the area. Definitely worth it as long as you can go a few times a week!

Equinox Chestnut Hill is strategically located in the Chestnut Hill shopping mall. Parking is convenient. The gym is in excellent condition. The long side of the gym has windows to the outside so there is plenty of natural light. It's kept clean. The staff is friendly. The exercise rooms are spacious. There is a lap pool and a juice bar. You pay a lot but you get a lot.

Beautiful facility. I love the air quality, the treadmills, the sleek dark decor and overall vibe. Workouts are quite challenging (though you can control how hard you feel like pushing it without judgment) but I feel wonderful afterward. The extra oxygen is pretty awesome too! Make sure to take advantage of all the bells and whistles such as the vibrating rollers and cooled eucalyptus towels!

We just wanted to see the environment and the bathroom. He refused to show us around. So we left and went down the road and ultimately signed up with Lifetime. I only went here once, but from what I could tell it was a good experience. The pool was kinda small (3 lanes), but there was only two other people there. I went on a weekend at 12pm. The locker rooms were nice and clean, and even had free lotion!
