Our son has been attending Excel Material Arts in Mansfield for 3 years now and we have seen him grow into a confident, loyal and strong individual. He started at age 3 with his white belt and has worked his way up to a purple, while achieving stars for special challenges both physical and educational. Our son continues to have fun in the class and feels that he is part of a special community. As parents we feel that the community is very welcoming as well. We highly recommend Excel to all!

We began attending karate at Excel in Mansfield for 3 years now, and my artistic 7yo loves it! The dojo has an inclusive and adaptive program for students with mental and physical disabilities, which has been a blessing for his adoption of their lessons of confidence, discipline, respect, and focus. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, kind, and patient with students of all ages, and they cultivate a community of respect and inclusion among all families. Long term, many older students have ranked up and become instructors, so there are many opportunities for progression. If you have a child interested in karate, I would recommend Excel every day of the week.

My son has been practicing martial arts at Excel Martial Arts in Mansfield for three years, ever since his previous dojo closed due to the pandemic. I can’t recommend their school enough. Shihan John, Cody, and all the instructors have been incredibly welcoming and understanding of the challenges and stress that come with joining a new school. They followed a thoughtful process that respected the time he had already spent earning his previous belt, ensuring he was able to catch up with the material at their school.
We specifically sought out a school with a long-standing reputation and a tradition of excellence, and Excel Martial Arts was the clear choice. My son plans to stay with Excel for the foreseeable future.
Although we don’t participate in the Special Needs karate classes, I’m truly impressed by the level of thoughtfulness and dedication Excel demonstrates. It’s rare to see such a strong commitment to adaptive programs.

My two children attend excel in Mansfield, my oldest since he was 3 and he is now 7. We have loved it. The Sensais are great, patient and firm in their instruction. They remember to have fun as well! My children have grown so much with discipline and focus in and out of the dojo. I have seen them gain confidence, and learn sportsmanship, and have made many friends. I can't recommend Excel Martial Arts in Mansfield enough! Both of my children attend. My daughter has been a student since she was three years old—she's now five and loves it! My three-year-old son recently joined and is having a fantastic time! The Senseis are incredibly patient with the kids and do a fantastic job. I've seen such growth in my children’s discipline and structure since they started. The environment is supportive and fun! Excel Karate is truly a gem in our community!

After the pandemic, I have been looking for a martial art school since his previous school abruptly closed. Found Excel Martial Arts after a few weeks of searching around and decided to sign up my son. They even honored his previous schools belt. We have attended Excel only a short time so far but we will definitely be life long students. My son has ADHD and Autism so I was unsure how he would handle a class, every instructor has been so supportive and helpful helping him learn. Each class is a mixture of learning new forms/moves, reviewing learned materials, and fun. I highly recommend the Mansfield and Canton locations.

My son started at excel when he was 7 years old as a trail program. 5 years later we are still with excel and he absolutely loves karate and he has never regretted signing up. I credit my training at LCMA with strengthening me both physically and emotionally. Not only am I more fit, but dramatically more self-assured because of it. I've witnessed similar changes in some of the students I teach as a junior instructor, which in itself is an incredibly rewarding experience. The community of instructors at LCMA are dedicated to their martial arts, yet so do they bring such warmth and constructive leadership to working with the students. My passion for our style of karate itself adds genuine meaning, zest, even, to my life. In terms of both the community you will meet and the skills you will develop, LCMA is a fantastic school.
