I started going to Fire Up Fitness in early 2024, and it has completely transformed my attitude and approach to working out. The energy in the room was great. The music was pumping, and everyone—from first timers to regulars—was very motivating.
What sets this Fire Up apart is the owner and instructor, Sheri. Sheri's not just an instructor; she's a force of nature! Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she strikes the perfect balance between encouragement and challenge.
The workouts themselves are a mixture of strength training, cardio, and core work. They're intense and scalable. Sheri offers modifications for every fitness level, tailoring to everyone. When I first started, just about everything was modified for me. It didn't take long before those modifications were no longer needed.
The class community is also incredibly supportive and fun—everyone cheers each other on, creating camaraderie.
Since working out with Sheri, I’ve modified my eating habits, lost weight, and feel SO much better! My cardio is night and day from where I began, and I now look forward to working out.
If you're looking for a class that makes you feel energized, give Fire Up a shot! SOLID 5/5!!

I have been going to Fire Up Fitness group classes for about a year now and it has made such a difference in my physical and mental health. Sheri is an excellent trainer for so many reasons - she is knowledgeable, energetic, welcoming, supportive, creative and funny. I'm not sure anyone else could get me to attend 5:45 AM classes (and I love that she has various day/time options if I need to go at another time). She explains the exercises very clearly and makes sure everyone is doing them correctly. There is so much variety in the exercises with a great mix of cardio and strength training. I feel so much stronger than I did a year ago and I continue to feel motivated and supported by Sheri and the wonderful community of people at her studio.

I know that strength training needs to be a part of my life but I couldn’t figure out how to fit it in. I’ve been working out at 5:45 am twice a week with Sheri since January and I love it. The combo of strength, balance, and cardio is challenging…. And I’m back home by 6:45 am ready to start my day. This is sustainable and I feel stronger and look better.

I started seeing Sheri at Fire Up a little less than a year ago and it’s has quickly become the highlight of my workouts ever since. Fire Up is a community that encourages one another sans judgement nor frustration. Sheri pays attention to YOU; what your body needs, how you feel, etc. This approachable way of fitness has made me work even harder and toned my muscles in a way no other fitness ever has. I am consistently sore after her workouts (my favorite feeling) and know that I’m getting stronger. I highly recommend joining this amazing program!

I have been doing group classes with Sheri for nearly a year, and personal training for a little over 6 months. Sheri hits the balance of pushing us to try harder, without making us gas out too early in the workout. She's VERY aware of any injuries or limitations, and always has modifications ready for people. The music is always on point too! One of the best things is also the other people in the group. There are lots of regulars, and we have a good time going back and forth of good naturedly griping and pushing each other. Lots of fun!

I found Sheri and Fire Up Fitness about 7 months ago when I was looking for someplace that could help me up my exercise program more than walking and yoga. I am so pleased to have given her training a try. All levels and ages will definitely benefit from her classes! All over cardio and strength are covered in each small, reasonably priced group session. Sheri explains each station and cardio movement then works with you to make sure form is maximized along with weights. And she will push you (gently) to make sure you get the most out of each workout. I have never felt discouraged when I can't do something as she is the type of person that can explain with great knowledge how the body works and can encourage one to believe the more you work the better you become. I would recommend Fire Up Fitness to any woman I know if feeling (and looking) better is your goal!

I'm updating my review from 4 years ago to say I'm *still* working out with Sheri at Fire Up Fitness and still loving every workout. I originally joined the gym in 2019 to lose weight but quickly found the benefits to be so much more than that. Since having my kids, in addition to gaining weight, I'd suffered from ongoing back pain. I had tried everything (massages, chiropractor, neck pillows) but they were all short-term fixes. The pain would always return. I had resigned myself to living with it, but then I started at Fire Up Fitness. After just a few weeks, my back pain was gone. Clearly, strength training was what I'd needed all along! I've always enjoyed bootcamp-style workouts, but Sheri's are by far the best: challenging, fun, and different every time. I love the small size of the classes and the people I work out with; they're all lovely and so supportive. Sheri has created a culture in which everyone celebrates what you *can* do or how much progress you've made as opposed to focusing on what you can't do. It's a testament to her that not only are we all getting stronger together, we're also often laughing while doing it. I could keep going, but for anyone considering a new fitness routine, I highly recommend getting Fired Up.

Update to my review 5 years ago…I am STILL working out with Sheri at Fire Up Fitness and have the same comments as 5 years ago, except that I look and feel even better! Shwri still shares positive, energetic workouts with fun and enthusiasm for all. After 10 years, her workouts are still challenging and unique. I have not had the same class in 10 years and have not gotten bored or unenthused once. Sheri is amazing, strong and supportive which permiates thru to the members. Sheri - I look forward to another 10 years with you and your excellent, tough, rewarding classes!
I have been working out at Fire Up Fitness since it opened over 4 years ago. Every class has been different, energetic, positive and challenging. Sheri is by far the best trainer, motivator and example to strive to be. She is creative and caring which comes through in every class. The men and women who work out here are all awesome and enthusiastic. I look forward to every class as it will be new and different and tough! I leave every class feeling awesome and proud of my inner strength. I love Sheri and Fire Up Fitness and highly recommend you try it!

Not sure where to start.... I've seen Sheri 3x/week and it's already been 7 years!
She helped me be fit for my wedding, during covid and my pregnancy. In the past months, she shared with me great food habits along steady gym exercises and I'm so impressed by the results.
Sheri is my favorite gym Teacher in the world and my oversea families love to train with her when they visit. Her energy is unmatched and contagious. I could not wake up at 5am twice a week to be with anyone else but her (and the amazing group of Ladies!) for my gym routine. Thank you for everything you do for us!

I had a lot working against me when I found Sheri. I'd been suffering from 10+ years of significant back pain/joint dysfunction, I had just finished breast cancer treatment, and I had a busy schedule as a full time professional and mom of 2. But as I hit my mid-40's, I knew I needed to get serious about working on rebuilding strength, so I started looking around. I did a couple of individual sessions with Sheri and then started joining her small group sessions, and 13 months later, I'm still going 2x/week, I've regained strength and then some, I've lost a bunch of lingering baby & pandemic weight, and I just FEEL BETTER. It is a lifeline for me... when I have to miss a session, I feel it mentally and physically. I have been a member at a handful of gyms and worked out in a range of settings over the years; here's what makes Fire Up Fitness different/better:
1) Sheri's positivity. It's addictive. She is upbeat and makes things fun. She is always encouraging each of us to push past what we believe to be limits, but she honors the fact that we know ourselves and our bodies best, and trusts us to do what's right for us. Sheri is always helping us, correcting us if we're not doing something properly, and constantly giving praise and affirmation that is SO motivating!
2) Community. There is such a supportive culture in the Fire Up Fitness studio. We work hard, but we laugh and have fun together along the way. As our leader, Sheri has created that culture and it truly makes a difference, because (and I'll speak for others here) we look forward to working out together. There was one week when Fire Up Fitness closed due to a family emergency, and I really needed a workout, so I went to a class at gym in my town. It was a good workout, but I genuinely felt the loss of the community piece, and it make me appreciate the Fire Up Fitness culture so much.

Fire Up Fitness is an amazing place to be, whether physically or virtually. The workouts are super-high energy with a focus on strength building and metabolic conditioning, and the trainers and community are incredibly supportive. When the pandemic hit and gyms were required to close, Sheri (the owner) never missed a beat. She immediately started offering online classes that fit our new schedules and that we could all do from home — these workouts are as challenging and fun as the ones in the studio, they fill me with positive energy, and they keep us all accountable. Sheri has really set the tone in the Fire Up community to be about getting stronger together and supporting each other, and I love that.

Ever since the COVID19 crisis began, I’ve been doing Sheri’s online workouts with my mom on our back porch. I can honestly say I look forward to it every week—you really work so many different muscles and it’s the perfect combination of strength, cardio, and toning! Update: July 2020. I've been going to FUF for two years now. Every day is challenging and fun. Sheri is always energetic and her spirit is uplifting and motivating. She shares her years of experience and wisdom with her clients and is always available to chat or lend an ear. During the pandemic, Sheri fired up her creativity and moved to ZOOM online classes with special outdoor socially-distanced events. I've never been more happy to be part of this club. I kept up with my workouts in solitude, but I never ever felt alone. The online classes were and still are amazing, even with limited at home equipment. She made if creative and fun by suggesting objects at home that can be used instead of weights. She also guided us through the trying times of COVID19 lockdown by helping us understand how important it is to keep up with our journey. She helped us focus on positivity and healthy mindful strategies to get us through the hardest of times. Its little things that make all the difference! She's the best. FireUp is like no other gym. I started in January of 2020 and I have never felt stronger! I have run half marathons and competed in olympic distance triathlons and I am only now in the best shape of my life. I have joined the Fire Up Fitness team about 2weeks ago and my experience in this short period of time has been Fired Up. Since my first class which was the outdoor bootcamp, Sheri showed me that there is no limit to what we can do & achieve with just our bodies. Not one class is the same which is exciting. We do HIIT, TABATA, Boxing, Resistance and always end class with some stretching. Its like a all-in-one. She's great in demonstrating the exercises & always provide modifications for all fitness levels. Sheri is one of the best & Fire Up Fitness is the place to be. When I first moved to Stoneham from Braintree (a little more than a year and a half ago) I had no idea where I would work out. I was at Get In Shape for Women for the last few years and there wasn't a convenient location here. I decided to buy a Groupon for 1 month at Fire Up Fitness just to give it a try. On my first day, I thought, this is not like any other gym that I've worked out at ever. It was very challenging and I wasn't sure it was for me; it just wasn't what I was used to. But, during that month, every day that I went back I liked it more & more. I'm SO glad I stuck it out because I LOVE IT!! First of all, the woman that I've met there are so nice & so encouraging & we have FUN!!. And then there's Sheri. She is fantastic!! I seriously don't know how she makes it so that we have never had the same workout ever!! Every day is different!! She is so great at motivating everyone & she really gives a lot of options for modifications of workouts which is really important for me because I have problems with my knees and feet. I am happy to say that I have now been a member for over a year, 3x a week and I still love it!!

I started going to the outside bootcamp for 2 weeks now after a friend recommended it. And I can’t thanks Sheri (owner/trainer)enough. Since I joined Fire Up Fitness, I have gone from arthritic and out of shape to strong, agile, and pain-free. I just want to say that up front because the results really are as extraordinary as that statement. Before joining, I had tried many forms of exercise, but everything left my knees screaming - it’s hard to motivate when you fear the aftermath! The first three months with Sheri were tough as my body adjusted, but I kept going because I was just having so much dang FUN! All classes are small, so you get a lot of one-on-one attention, and every single class is different, so you never get bored. Just as importantly, though, with all of that one-on-one attention, Sheri taught me proper form to minimize stress to my joints, so I began to fear the aftermath less and less (she does this in a personalized way for everyone!). Eventually my body did adjust, but how it adjusted is what surprised me the most. My whole body became stronger, more balanced. Suddenly my quads and hamstrings were able to evenly support my knees, and I no longer needed the cortisone injections I had been taking for years. I haven’t had cortisone in nearly 18mo now, and I have NO knee pain at all. This past spring, when the weather first hit 70deg, I spontaneously decided to go for a jog, something I haven’t done in years due to the arthritis but have missed terribly as I used to be a distance runner. That day, I knew my knees would make me pay, but I decided it was worth it "just this once" and went. But you know what? NO knee pain! I ran for the first time in years and my knees did just fine! The last time I ran, before joining Sheri's gym, my knees were swollen for weeks and I could barely climb stairs. I’m not saying I’m going to be running any marathons these days, but whereas before I was feeling slightly handicapped and with few exercise options, now I just feel so strong, and healthy, and... capable! THANK YOU SHERI for giving me my health back! ❤️

As a teenage athlete playing for AAU Basketball, I am always looking for new fun and creative ways to get faster, jump higher and become stronger. Sheri comes up with all sorts of ways to help me do that with unique pieces of equipment in various locations, inside and outside. Ask anyone who knows me, I'm not the kind of person who likes to work out near other people (unless sports). At first I started going to some classes just to support my wife. Now I'm totally hooked, every class is different & you can modify anything. On top of that the support group is amazing, it's a great group of mostly women. I go at least 3 days a week.
Soccer just started up, I was worried that I wouldn't be in shape, but as soon as I stepped onto the field I found that I was in the best shape of my life. Thanks Sheri! Fire Up!

If you haven’t tried working out with the Fire Up Fitness crew, please do it for yourself. Sheri’s energy and creativity are boundless. I’ve been going for over a year because of the positive energy and camaraderie. I’ve lost 2 sizes and gained strength and confidence in the process.
We work out in pairs or groups so not only does Sheri motivate and guide us but so do the others there. We are all at different levels so there’s no pressure to do more or less than you can. Plus, it has been therapeutic for me. We all work together, laugh, and listen to each other.
I’ve tried trainers, gyms, yoga, and videos but the accountability I have to my workout buddies and Sheri helps me get there and get it done. I need that subtle accountability to motivate me so it works!

Sick of running on a treadmill? Sick of the same old gym routine?
Fire up Fitness is AMAZING! Sheri has so much passion and genuine concern for her clients. It is truly an individualized plan. She teaches the appropriate way to work out and has meal plans available so everything you are doing is pushing you toward your goals. If she sees the weights are getting too light, she makes you move up so you are always improving. If you have injuries, she will modify things for you. She empowers, motivates, and engages every person she works with. It doesn’t matter your current athletic capabilities; she will fire you up! Frank teaches the morning classes and works every muscle equally as hard as Sheri does. Frank is a breath of fresh air in the morning and the perfect start to my day. His boxing class is the best in Boston! After working out with either trainer I feel stronger and more confident. I have NEVER done the same workout twice.

I've been going to Fire Up Fitness for almost a year and a half, and can't recommend it enough. When I tried to work out at other gyms in the past, I would stick with it for a couple months or so then always fall off track and stop going. Since Fire Up, I have consistently worked out 3-5 times a week, and have not fallen off track at all. I actually feel motivated and excited to work out now! There are a number of reasons I love this gym, but to start.. Sheri is amazing! She's very thorough in showing us the exercises while also adjusting us as necessary, gives modifications and is a great motivator. The studio is very clean and all the workout equipment is top of the line, every class is different and extremely challenging and I've met so many amazing people at Fire Up. It seriously feels like being part of a small community. Most importantly though, I've noticed a change in myself physically and mentally. I'm much stronger than when I first started, more toned and more confident in my body. I'm doing things I never thought I could do. This studio has changed my outlook on working out. Fire up is hands down the best gym. The trainers provide modifications to every exercise and correct form to reduce the risk of injury and maximize your workout. Other gyms I’ve been to have never provided modifications to exercises, never corrected my form, never started with a warmup and ended with stretching/cool down. Fire up does all that and more. The workouts are catered to every fitness level. Each person works out at their own level and there is zero intimidation factor. Your first class is free so you have nothing to lose, definitely try it out!

This is like no other place I’ve ever worked out. It’s fun, never the same workout twice and it really feels like you have a personal trainer looking out for you as Sheri really gets to know you, your strengths/weaknesses and is constantly there guiding you the right form to be successful. Absolutely LOVE Fire Up Fitness! Joined a couple months ago and can see and feel the results already. Having just had a baby and having not worked out in quite some time, I was nervous going into my first workout, but Sheri is so welcoming and makes modifications as needed for each individual. In August I decided I was tired of feeling weak and broken. After two back surgeries I was scared to work out my body. I had heard about the free consultation class at fire up fitness and figured I had nothing to lose. I was so right and have in fact GAINED. From the moment I walked in the studio I felt welcome. I dislike the feeling of intimidation and judgement, both of which are non existent here. I have become stronger than I have ever been physically, which helps me mentally since they go hand in hand 🖐❤️💪 I would and have recommended fire up to anyone and everyone. I had worked out for years before having my son than I stopped working out. I wanted to do something for myself but didn't know how to start back up and was scared. after years of not working out I decided to check out FIre Up. Sheri was not only patient with me as I asked her a million questions but she made me feel comfortable and adjusted all workouts to make sure that I could handle it. It's about a year now, and I love going. The community at this gym is so positive and Sheri, frank and Mandy are all amazing. I love how they all help fix your form so that you can do it right and learn to do it right so you can improve. I have been at places where you're like "hello is this right". I now feel stronger, have more flexibility and better balance which means I'm getting stronger.
At this gym I never get bored. Sheri constantly has such unique routines and it amazes me how sometimes she just comes up with things on the spot and it's still the best workout! if you want more of a challenge, no problem Sheri can easily adjust it for you. I recommend giving them a try.

Fire Up Fitness is the best! I am not a gym-type person and I was super nervous to even step inside, but I’m really glad I gave it a try. Sheri does an amazing job being motivating in a way that is somehow both firm and gentle. The workouts are always different, and sometimes even fun ;-) Over the past year, I’ve been so happy to notice the improvements in my strength and flexibility as well as the way I feel about myself. If you are like me and need Motivation and Accountability have no fear this is the place to be. Prior to joining this gym, I struggled getting to the gym and wasted tons of money on a personal trainer. Don't get me wrong, my previous trainer was great, I met with her once a week, but it stopped there. I couldn't find the motivation to go to the gym the rest of the time so my 1x a week just wasn't cutting it. I heard so many great things about Fire Up Fitness I had to give it a shot. After my 1st complimentary class I realized this was my place! The small group classes were really like having a personal trainer. Accountability was taken care of because you book your classes online ahead of time, which for me guaranteed I would go! Okay, so as for the actual gym experience this place is nothing like going to a traditional gym! The classes are so much fun and Sheri has an amazing way of incorporating cardio/weight training into each class that you get a great workout, have fun, and at the end of a class know you just physically exhausted every muscle in your body. As for the other clients, I can't say enough. All age groups and body types are represented. There is never any shame, but only support to be offered. Sheri has a knack for modifying all exercises based on ability and is very tuned into each of her clients strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommend you give Fire Up Fitness a shot. As a mom of 4, working full time, I never have a problem finding a class that is convenient to my schedule and you can't beat the price!

Best gym EVER! You will see results! Super supportive for different ages, shapes, sizes, fitness level. You go at your own pace. I am 61 and never been in better shape, due to this gym. I dont like to work out, not into sports, but at Fireup, the trainers make it fun. They know their stuff, help us do it safe, build our strength, core balance and reshape our bodies. The culture is fun and supportive, awesome group of women. All you have to do is bring your body! No stress, no intimidation factor. Patty B
