I was turned away with my son, age 13, Sat Nov 15, for him being 13 years of age and a policy not allowing it.
This is after I asked if age 13 was okay, as told yes, as long as I upgraded my membership and they worked out in my supervision.

I signed up for Fitfactory last year primarily because of the sauna, which was a major selling point as the only one in the area. Initially, the men's sauna worked perfectly, hitting an ideal temperature of 170°F, where you could actually get a good sweat.

However, a few months later, the sauna stopped working correctly. Since the repair, the temperature has been subpar, consistently only reaching 150°F. This temperature is too low; you can barely work up a sweat even after sitting in for 15-20 minutes. Additionally, the sauna door does not fully close allowing heat to escape easily and making the sauna less efficient.

The most frustrating part is the management's neglect and deceptive communication. Multiple members have complained about this issue over the past six months. Every time we inquire, the staff acknowledges the problem and says, "We're working on it."

This week, I spoke directly with the main technician who confirmed the real reason for the delay: the necessary repair part costs approximately $500, and the front desk/management has refused to order it.

This refusal to invest a small amount to properly fix a highly-advertised amenity for six months is absolutely unacceptable. If the sauna is a key factor in your decision to join, be warned: this is how the management at Fitfactory prioritizes (or fails to prioritize) the needs of its paying members. The men's sauna is currently barely functional.

I’ve been a member at Fit Factory for about 6 months and I wanted to give it some time before writing a review. I was nervous about joining after seeing numerous reviews mentioning equipment constantly being “out of order” and taking a long time to be addressed or fixed. While I do have to somewhat agree that there is usually a few pieces of equipment out of order, I have seen maintenance teams here working. The staff is also ALWAYS cleaning and checking on the amenities. I absolutely love the yoga and Pilates classes (I wish there were more), and the instructors are awesome, welcoming and kind. My reason for 4 stars is because there is only 1 machine per popular exercise (leg press, curl extension, and chest press, fly etc) and the gym can get somewhat busy. I’ve been to another Fit Factory location and this one is without a doubt nicer, cleaner, newer and more spacious. Their membership fees are very reasonable. I recommend!

I recently joined the fit factory family and am blown away at what an overall incredible experience it has been. Not only is the staff warm, welcoming, and friendly but they truly have any and all equipment you could need. I also love that there are plenty of areas to stretch and warm up/cool down. Not to mention the red light and sauna have massively elevated my workouts. I cannot say enough good things about Ashley, David, and Kelly who have gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome, comfortable, and never fail to help me however they can. I recommend the fit factory for anyone from beginner to workout guru- I promise you won’t be disappointed!

The #1thing that makes for a great workout is a great staff. They have it! Front staff is always welcoming and helpful. Training staff the sane. Jacob is the best trainer. Equipment is good and plentiful. Music....well my tastes may not be considered mainstream so thank goodness they don't play it so that it intrudes on my headphones.

I like the equipment variety. (wall balls/medicine balls, rowers, climbing rope, rings, free weights etc. It only lacks a ski erg or 2. However the resistance machines are getting worn out and old. The rope is frayed. Refurbishing a corner in the main area is still under construction. The men's sauna continues to hover 145 or under despite repeated requests to fix it to the an appropriate hugher temperature. There were a lot of gripes from multiple members about this, fix it or get a new one. I am getting concerned about chain management.

Had to cancel my membership as I’m moving out of state. They make this process extremely hard and confusing. I let the girl at the desk know in April and she said she’d make a note on my account. Then I got billed again this month (May) for my Annual Fee and Monthly charge. I called and was told to go online and do it. They’re refusing to refund the annual fee/monthly fee for May even though I’m out of state and haven’t used the club.

Update: 6/2/2025, was just charged another month! This is ridiculous!

This place was absolutely amazing, from the clean facility to the friendly staff. After being a happy member for almost 2 months, I accidentally left my jewelry (dead grandmothers gold necklace) in the locker room, and called immediately. To my luck, they found it and called back to let me know it would be waiting for me in an envelope. When I went to the gym to pick it up a day later, it had “disappeared”. After five days of returning, asking employees about it and being told it was no where to be found, I decided to go to the police department to report it stolen. When I did, the manager was cooperative with the police at first, but has since stopped taking their calls. This place is extremely unprofessional in how they handle serious situations, and have yet to take any responsibility for their employees incompetence and sticky fingers. I seriously loved the majority of staff and would never even take the time to write a review, but this was absolutely crazy and more people should be aware. Literally all I wanted was my dead grandmothers pearl necklace back.

They have been giving my wife a hard time cancelling since June. The cancelling site they give members the link to says it can't do it without a payment method on file. I can see two of them. Btw according to your own contract you have people sign, trainers can terminate membership. Why are you all lying and robbing people for hundreds of dollars.

Decent place. I did notice that when a machine is broken, it could take a while to fix it. It only bothered me when the leg extensions machine was broken. They only had one of those. Had an issue both times I needed assistance. Once when the manager was on vacation and I had to remove a person from my account. Couldn’t do it until she was back and had to pay for the add on an extra month since the staff didn’t have permissions to make that change. I was given misinformation on when the manager would be back multiple times. Second was when my wife was out of country and couldn’t access their website so called in and requested the invoice to be emailed if possible and the manager Kellie made it impossible to get them by asking proofs that my wife couldn’t access the website and then ghosted her when she emailed the proofs. Cancelling my membership. Hopefully that will go smoother than what the reviews seem to suggest

Pretty decent gym, until I had twin babies and didn’t have time to go any longer. I’ve been trying for months to cancel my membership. I went in person first, during a very rare free moment of my time and they handed me a business card with a website on it and said I had to do it online. I’ve tried three times online. The first time, the website kept freezing after I entered my log in information, the second and third time, it froze after saying it didn’t have my payment information, and therefore couldn’t cancel my membership, (even though I owe nothing to the gym and they do have my payment information).I even tried re-entering my payment information and now the option to cancel is just gone. Beyond frustrated!

Personally, I had a terrible experience with this gym. Judging by the other reviews, I am not the only one. I would not recommend this gym since their customer service is very unfriendly and not helpful. And honestly, the sauna is nice but the rest of the gym I found outdated.

And of further reading the reviews! Ldori hit it right on (read their review for more info)- But I was unfairly charged money and the manager would not let me cancel. I cancelled in December 2023, yet they charged me until May 2024. And I was actively telling them i was canceling. Despite calling multiple times, emailing multiple times and texting. Apparently, the only way you can cancel is writing a handwritten letter. Which is unheard of. I ended up paying months of fees when i never even used the gym. Despite multiple attempts to fight this, they just continued to not email me back. I agree, this business should be investigated.

Fit Factory @ Berlin/Hudson, where the membership cancellation process is structured to be nearly impossible for customers. As a result, the business continuously charges a monthly fee of $19.99 in addition to an annual membership fee of $79.99 without our knowledge and authorization. They maliciously require customers to use the app for all activities except for cancellation, which must be done in person at the office. The inexperienced manager at the Berlin (MA) office seems trained to prevent cancellations, effectively scamming customers, demanding to pay unauthorized bill on the spot.

On December 5, 2023, I signed up for a non-commitment trial membership, which was supposed to charge only $19.99 per month without annual fee. However, I was charged $79.99 anyway on my credit card. Despite my efforts to dispute this, I was unsuccessful and ultimately decided to use Fit Factory rather than fighting with them with no resolution. On February 7, 2024, I decided to cancel my membership and I went to the Berlin office to cancel my membership, as cancellations are only allowed in person. An employee informed me that a note would be left for manager Kelly to cancel my membership (strangely, only Kelly is authorized to process cancellation), and I was assured everything was set. I visited the office again on February 13, 2024, to confirm my cancellation and was told the note had been passed to Kelly; therefore, I would be all set.

Today, June 4, 2024, I received a collection notice from Fit Factory, the amount of 152.95. I went to the Berlin office to dispute the unauthorized bill and confirm my cancellation, Kelly informed me that she could not cancel my membership until I paid the debt in full—a debt that she had created without my authorization. Kelly demanded me to pay the unauthorized bill right there by credit card. Kelly further informed me that if I ever disputed those charges with my credit card company, she would continue to charge me monthly fees indefinitely and never allow me to cancel my membership.

Manager Kelly refused to give me her supervisor’s contact information, stating that my best option was to pay the bill in full right there. This sounded very scammy and fraudulent. This business needs to be investigated further, as there are likely many other victims who have been unfairly charged by Kelly or Fit Factory.

Ive been a member for over 2 years at the Berlin/hudson facility. Great facility. Had all the needs for me and family (minus punching bag). Daycare was a big reason why we joined. With time. Noticed place was lacking in cleanliness and even careless of mens bathroom. Cold water only. Sauna broken for long periods of time and now on very low heat. But even months ago they took out daycare and said that there was something being built. And yet to be seen. So much dust and sometimes even trash or drink bottles for few days at same place . As if never clean. Wish i didnt have the yearly renewal so i could move on to another gym as prices going up but service and quality diminishing. Not happy at all. And seems as if no one cares about this

Very nice gym. Excellent classes and equipment options. Pretty good customer service, although sometimes understaffed. Biggest complaint (and my reason for going elsewhere) is that they no longer keep the sauna in the men's locker room at the recommended temperature range (80-100 C). Meeting my Goals.

I joined fit factory a month and a half ago and it has become a great tool for me to get back on track with my health. I was 215lbs when I started and in 6 weeks, I am now currently at 198lbs and much closer to my overall goal. The staff is very friendly / knowledgeable, and the facilities are well maintained. It's always clean but you need more than that from a gym. I didn't appreciate that they automatically renew your contract without your consent as well as charge you their yearly fee even if you didn't want to renew. It's not way of doing business. They charge you $10 to cancel. Otherwise, it's okay. Too much of the gym is taken up by other things.

I've been a member for about a month and I wish I had joined sooner. The class instructors and trainers (shout-out to Ashlee and Juliet!) have all been very welcoming and encouraging. The people I've met in the classes have also been very nice. Several staff and gym goers alike have emphasized that we're all on own path; it's very judgement-free. I'm thankful to have met with Ryan Barry to discuss my goals and better understand how to achieve them. I'm definitely starting to catch the bug and don't mind waking early for a 530AM class or leaving the house for a small group training session.

I work in the plaza and went to Fit Factory on my break with a free day pass that I had recieved online and really enjoyed the equipment and overall convenience and vibe of the gym. However, today I noticed that my work had a bunch of free 7 day passes for Fit Factory so I decided to take advantage of the offer and head back to the gym. I was told by the front desk that because I signed up for the one day pass a month ago that I wasn't eligible for the 7 day pass to be valid and that i should've instead taken advantage of the corporate discount for the much more expensive gym packages that they were trying to pitch to me when i was trying to head out the door and go back to work. I was told that I "wasn't listening" to the pitch and that it's my own fault that I'm not eligible for the 7 day pass. I had every intention of signing up for a monthly membership after the pass ran out but now I'm not so sure, as it now feels like the type of gym that is only interested in trying to up sell on memberships based on my experience there. Really disappointed.

Have been a member for two plus years. The club has a very spotty maintenance program. Additionally doors that should be closed are often open creating a serious security exposure for members working out. I’ve responded to a few inquiries asking whether I would recommend friends with less than enthusiastic responses. Have received calls from Fit Family management telling me the maintenance issues will be addressed. Months have passed and nothing has been done. Vinyl padding on numerous machines has needed replacement for months yet nothing has been done.

Looks like “stock” responses from whomever monitors the reviews. No movement in re-upholstering worn coverings on machines and door still open. Maintenance and safety should be priorities for gyms.

Nice place for most part, but they don’t take care of issues that come up. What sets it apart from other gyms around is that they have a sauna. But how good is that when their men’s shower water heater is almost always broken. Usually go straight to work after working out. I can’t use the sauna after my workout because I can’t take a shower there. This happens awful a lot, they do NOT fix things very fast. They are not taking care of the things that sets it apart from other gyms in the area.

I have had too many negative encounters with this gym. These guys are scammers and I would not advise this gym. Along with that, there is too many people and the mens locker room is disgusting. I have never seen a sauna so filled with gunk. Even the showers are disgusting. I will probably never come back to this gym.

There are better gyms out there. Best thing about this place is the $15/mo membership and nice staff. Other than that it's mostly a cash focused gym. 3/4 of the gym is taken up by the class rooms and VIP section. The actual weights section is crowded often. They charge you $94 for an annual fee, they charge you if you want to go to a cheaper membership, and they charge $16 to cancel the membership. If you want a gym that cares about having an good gym environment, don't go here.

BE FOREWARNED! I would strongly recommend that people exercise incredible due diligence before signing up with this business. My son was allowed to join the Berlin location as a minor without proper parental sign-off. When he left for college in August he informed the desk personnel of his desire to cancel his membership which was not followed up upon properly. After several harassing calls re: overdue payments, both he and I left messages at the facility alerting them of the need for them to cancel his membership in their system. No responses were received. Today, we receive a letter form a debt collection attorney attempting to settle this, which we in NO WAY are planning to do. When I attempted to speak today with the GM at the facility i was denied the opportunity to do so! We will be forced to take legal action which is unfortunate and I am writing this in hopes that others will take notice and avoid the same hassles/frustration.

Super unwelcoming, right of the bat first person to greet my friend & I were taken back how rude the front desk person was. Told her I signed up on the website for a free membership day pass and I come from Lowell & I heard great things about the facility. Off the bat, asked for both of our licenses, and looked on the computer with out saying anything. I explained to her about how I work full time, only times would be the weekends. Without even trying or giving a tour or looking around, she proceeded to ask 20$ for todays visit, when I showed the email with the free pass. I had to speak up, and explain if I were to come on the weekends and if I like it, I would need to see the area, and take a tour. She told us to proceed into the gym & no tour was giving to us, neither any memberships talk, or layout of the gym. Super disappointed, they only care about money.

A large, clean gym with all of the amenities and equipment I want at my gym. They have a functional fitness area, several studio rooms (rowing, cycling, yoga and group fitness) and a female-only area. Large locker rooms with showers and a sauna. The weight lifting area is equipped with machines, free weights, lifting platforms and a multi-station cable machine area (with a good assortment of attachments). There is a turf strip behind the cardio machines with a landmine bar, TRX, kettlebells, a sled, etc. Overall, I am able to complete the workouts I love with what is available here. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The male and female Personal Trainers are friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and you can switch trainers if needed. This gym is pretty great. I enjoy the staff and guests. Super friendly besides the busters who wanna play strictly by the rules (one or 2 staff members who take the game way too serious). Visited this area for 2 months and signed up for this gym.
Didn‘t regtet it for a second. I really liked it here. The training equipment is in very good condition. Staff is super friendly. Everything is nice and clean. And the Sauna was very nice after training sessions.
Ist would be nice though, if there was the possibility to sign up as tourist for the normal cheap condition without having to pay any anual Fee etc.
All in all a great gym!

My wife and I absolutely love this club and the staff who work there. This gym is completely unpretentious and is great for persons of all ages, shapes and sizes. It is clean. The staff is extremely friendly. Outstanding facilities. Reasonably priced. Our son recently received personal training sessions with Chris and it literally changed his life. Chris is absolutely amazing.

I would give them 0 stars if it was possible.
I have been trying to cancel my membership for months now and it’s is impossible. According to their policy , to cancel the month to month membership you have to come in, except there’s no one that allowed to cancel it, and you do come in. Today I received a letter from a collection agency. I’m not sure how to do next so will be contacting the Attorney General’s Office tomorrow for help.
Unless you want to go through what is happening to me, stay away from this place. By reading other former members that they had or are having the same issue. Please make sure you read the other reviews before you give this place a try. It’s nothing but aggravation.

I went into the gym Tuesday and online it stated that’s it closes at 10pm. I got there at 7:30pm and at 8pm I had employees inform me that they are close and I need to go home. I formed them that it states 10pm on the website. They said they were short staffed with 5 people working that night. I left my information to get a call back from a manager. And have yet too get a call. If I’m paying for a gym open until 10pm to be able to stay there until 10. There a hole on the floor with nothing informing you there a broke pipe cover and metal strips sticking out just waiting for someone to get hurt. Not happy with this gym…

I have never in my life have gone through such a nightmare as I have been with fit factory Berlin. As they know already, before moving around August I left this gym thinking this membership was canceled, the girl at the front desk messed the whole thing up. She didn’t know what to do so she froze it. This is accumulating to about $200. And yes The don’t reply to their email or give you a refund just pay pay pay… happy holidays

Great gym overall! Especially the personal training. When I started with Suzette, she helped me reach my goals and helped me achieve a new squat PR of 205! She motivated me, and even shared her fitness journey and showed me that anything one sets their mind to is possible. Full of hidden fees. They claim there's only a sign on fee and the monthly fee. Yet I also got charged for a "booking fee" that was as much as the sign on fee and I also got charged $25 because my bank declined the payment. The gym itself is all right but not worth all the upfront payments. (EDIT) once again a few months later I'm slammed with more fees (because of employee error) and when I try to call and work it out I'm basically told to go f myself. Would not recommend this gym to anyone who cares about their money.

I think that one of the hardest things about moving was leaving this gym. The staff and other members are super friendly and respectful. Very welcoming environment, which was much appreciated by someone who used to be intimidated by gyms. Equipment was always clean and in good condition. I canceled my membership and they emailed me my membership cancelation form and on the form they gave themselves 5 star ratings (they never even asked me to rate them on a scale of 1-5, they just gave themselves the 5). They also said I’d recommend them to a friend when in reality I would not. They do not care about real feedback. Very shady. Crunch Fitness is down the street. No contracts.

Do yourself a favor and sign up for a gym without contracts/commitments. Don't sign up for this disaster. I pre-registered for this gym before it opened (pre-COVID) and then after the opening was delayed and COVID hit peak, I tried to cancel my membership over the phone. Nope, not allowed because "we need to see your face" ...everyone has masks on. You'll see on another review a claim is made that someone wasn't allowed to cancel their membership via phone because COVID is getting better ("clubs are open"), so the old policy was restored. Again, I called months ago during peak and couldn't. Interesting. Anyway, I figured they'd drop me at some point as I didn't want to go into a gym during peak, but nope. The way this shady place works is if Fit Factory doesn't get paid, ABC Financial starts to call you. ABC only has the power to take your money, no cancelation abilities. If you ignore ABC, they move you to a legal collections law firm (letter in mail) and threaten your credit (yep, we are still talking about a gym membership). For extra context, I never even went in to get my membership card when this place finally opened as I had no interest in using the gym during COVID. Never even used the gym and had to pay ~$150 to avoid my credit taking a hit, go into the gym to "meet with the manager" and sign three documents to wash my hands of this absolute joke. I couldn't not recommend this place enough. They are simply too casual about taking your money while hiding behind a contract.

Really disappointed with the front desk regarding covid safety. My husband has been working out for months here and this is the first problem he has had. Two teenagers walking around not wearing a mask. He said something to the front desk who was also a teenager who did nothing about it. I understand temporarily taking it off or when your doing cardio but to be clearly walking around for an hour not wearing a mask is ridiculous. I’m sorry I understand being out in an open space there is a risk of covid but people clearly not paying attention or not caring is not okay. There are rules in place for a reason. My husband will not be working out here anymore. Planet fitness has been safer and better about enforcing covid rules and regulations.

I am very disappointed with this gym's lack of organization. Upon the gym's opening during a pandemic, I wanted to freeze my account until it was safe to use the gym. I had to go in person to sign paperwork, which I was very uncomfortable with. I did so on November 20, chose the number of months I wanted frozen, and signed a few documents. I was told I would be charged for December (of course, because that's when they charge the annual fees), but my freeze would take effect in January. Not only was I charged for January, but they had lost all record of my visit to sign their paperwork and I was told I had to come in again. You would think with all of the signing platforms available, they could email the paperwork to be signed rather than forcing clients to come in to sign.

I was really looking forward to this gym as they have great rates and seemingly wonderful facilities, but with this lack of organization and sensitivity to the pandemic, I'm not sure if I'll be keeping my membership.

Haven’t committed to a gym in several years... went to Fit Factory with a member as their free guest policy and instantly feel in the love.
The facility has a great feel and amazing set up. It’s so bright and clean!!!!! The classes are all housed in separate rooms which is amazing. The woman’s only space is a great space as well, equipped with everything even cardio equipment.
I’ve been to multiple gyms and you can’t beat the price for what your getting at Fit Factory.

The FITT classes are by far my favorite!
I kick off most mornings at 5:30 with Sam S who absolutely kills the coaching! His playlist and positive energy is amazing! Akhiel W is so motivating with his playlist and great energy on the Saturday morning class!

Anybody else have trouble with cancelation? I canceled over a year ago on the phone. They didn't cancel my membership and charged me once they opened. I called and was told I'd get my money back. They charged me double the next month. Called again and they said they "really" canceled it this time. I had to call my bank to tell them not to pay this place. Very nice gym with friendly staff. After driving by the gym I stopped in for a tour. I was interested in the weights and cardio equipment, which looked very nice. Like a smaller golds gym setup . They also had a small turfed area for crossfit classes and more dynamic workouts. Note you can’t train in this area when classes are being taught. The issue was that for $20 a month, you can use millions of dollars of equipment in a large area. But when I skated about using the turfed area while classes weren’t being held, they said.... that costs $50 a month. That turned me off as it felt gimmicky. But that’s there business model. Overall a nice clean gym from what I saw, just make sure you know what you are getting when you sign up.

I signed up for this gym in June waiting for a September opening...then it was pushed to November...and now JANUARY of next year. If I had known it was going to be over 6 months from the time I signed up to the time I was actually going to be able to start using a gym, I wouldn’t have signed up for it. I have also tried to call several times and have not been given any sort of answers to my questions. Very disappointed

Tried to cancel my membership the Friday before it opened and like most gyms they tried to convince me not to cancel my membership even though I now use another gym. I tell the guy fine and that I will go to the gym on the following Tuesday to try it. I went to go workout around 1 and when I get to the gym, the door is locked. I cant open it and there is no one at the reception desk or inside the gym. I see a TINY piece of paper on the front desk that says open 8-1 2-10. I am FURIOUS. I get back to my car and check the google calendar and their website calendar and there is NO indication that they close for an hour in the middle of the day. So I call and the guy just says sorry we have it up on the door that we are close during those times. Great I had to come here to find out you are closed after I put in all the effort. He asks me if I can come at 2 and I say no and that was that. I tried to cancel once and they convinced me not to. Give them a second chance and they blew it. I am so disappointed in this gym and the staff that run it. Don't waste your time here. If I could give it negative stars, I would.

First of all, Yay! It finally opened! I'm loving the FFIT classes. Had 3 so far with Holly and Shayna for instructors. Small classes for social distance and to keep you moving. Also had a couple of personal training sessions with Rob. He's helping me focus on proper form so I don't injure myself! We all take part of cleaning equipment we use.
Okay, so why not 5 stars? For now, they don't have Zumba during the day hours except Sunday morning. I'll adjust my rating when that changes. It just opened, so I get that they're still finding what works best. Not judging the quality of the gym on the lateness of the delivery.

It's funny to see the five-star reviews on this site. Obviously friends and family. How do you give a five-star review to a gym that is (at this point) over a year late in opening? But my favorite is the stock phrases they use over and over again until they have no meaning: "We're so close to the finish line." "We know it's been frustrating." "It'll be worth the wait." Just stop with the same bs already. And lose the smile emoji at the end of every post - it's not cute anymore.
