There are a number of cheaper gyms around, but several good reasons for working with a personal trainer at Fitness Together. When I used to go to a big box gym I would just randomly wander from one machine to another. Here the trainers know you and what you want to achieve and lead you to that end. Even if you have found a program online or elsewhere that is nowhere near as good. When working out Shayne and Joe will make minor adjustments to my stance and motion that make all the difference. They also push me to go much further than I would on my own. Up to, but never over my limit.

FitnessTogether is very approachable and grows with you. They are very good for a beginner who does not know the correct posture. They also do a great job mixing up the exercises to keep you and your muscles interested and having fun.

It is a fun friendly atmosphere, the staff are more like friends than trainers and clients. They are constantly changing up routines so it stays interesting and not repetitive .

This must be how it feels to be trained like a professional athlete. Nick Bennett goes beyond the kind of personal training I've experienced in other facilities. In his sessions he guides me through 'surgically' targeted, precisely monitored movements to build strength for the physical weaknesses he is constantly assessing. I'm amazed at his ability to 'see' the issues movement by movement. He's creative on the fly - assembles the right platforms, weights, bands to transition to the next exercise just as the previous one concludes. He's an elite athlete (Brazilian jiu-jitsu and boxing) and treats me with the same respect. I end each session feeling I am making progress. Extraordinary fitness experience for anyone serious about training. Especially extraordinary for a 60-something woman. Immaculate facility.

I have been training with Mike Oakes for seven years. I am in my late 60βs and had numerous personal training experiences prior to working with Mike, some of which were at a Fitness Together on Long Island. Mike is unrivalled! His knowledge of musculature and kinesthesiology is extraordinary. He has helped me overcome one age-related vulnerability/injury after another. He will push as far as one wants to go to achieve levels of fitness one might not otherwise conceive of. Throughout it all, he is funny and good-natured. He fosters an atmosphere of good will and friendliness among all his trainers and clients. I have not only benefited myself, I have watched others change their strength and fitness. Despite the range of clients Mike works with (from young wrestlers to senior citizens), he cheers everyone on with equal enthusiasm. I cannot recommend him highly enough

I have been going to FT Westford for just over 4 months for personal training. The people there are great, not only knowledgeable about how to handle each client's needs and wants, but also genuinely good people that are a pleasure to be around. I am in my late 50s and never had a positive experience at gyms or attempts at fitness training on my own in my entire life. They are helping me over that hurtle and teaching me a lot along the way. Could not give them a higher recommendation.

I first came to Fitness Together in the fall of 2012, weighing 240 pounds and with a history of back and hip problems. At least once a month, my hips would collapse out of alignment, causing sharp pain and making even walking difficult. The realization dawned on me that I needed to make some changes to my life, and I decided to give personal training a try.
Walking into Fitness Together for the first time, I was nervous, with little idea of what to expect. However, the staff put me at ease and found training times that conveniently fit within my schedule. Mike Oakes, the owner and also a trainer, diagnosed my issues and developed a regimen focusing on functional, total body strength, with an emphasis on core strength and stability. Each session was different, challenging, and fun! Mikeβs encouragement and sense of humor helped push me through my perceived limits, and his warm personality and genuine enjoyment in working with me kept me coming back. I also worked extensively on self-defense with Nick Bennett, a mixed martial artist and jiu-jitsu black belt, who helped boost my self-confidence and fitness as well.
Fast-forward to present, and I am amazed by the results: My back and core have strengthened dramatically, my hips are stable, and I am pain free. The training (coupled with a healthier diet) has helped me shed 40 pounds, and my energy has skyrocketed. I have greater mobility and massive improvements in functional strength. In short, I feel years younger. I would like to thank the staff at Fitness Together for helping me achieve something I never thought possible: To be, at age 36, in the best shape of my life!

I needed to get into much better shape going into a Hip Replacement and after some research and a face to face meeting, I decided to work with Fitness Together in Westford.
The staff took time to understand what my main concerns and goals were and developed a plan to help me meet my goals. We started with two 1 on 1 sessions a week moved up to three and will finish a 3 month plan with 4 sessions a week.
The facility is spotless, all of the equipment is new and well maintained, workout rooms are large and offer a comfortable and discreet work area. Water and hand towels are free.
I have been working with Shayne who is always on time and prepared with the days workout routine. Workouts differ slightly day to day which keeps the routines fresh and challenging. He trains, teaches and motivates with confidence and has focused on my keys issues and muscle groups extremely well. Other staff members have been helpful and stepped in when Shayne was off.
I highly recommend Westford's Fitness Together.

I have been a client for several years. All the trainers are very knowledgeable and customize fitness programs to your specific needs and goals. This has been important in my recovery from a back injury I sustained several years ago. My trainer created a fitness program that's enabled me to steadily improve my strength, which I am really pleased about.
The club is expanding its offerings and it now offers yoga classes, boot camps and more.
Cannot recommend them enough!!

I have been going to Boot Camp classes for the past year and have been very impressed by the variety of workouts and the knowledge of the trainers. I have a bad back and any time it starts to flare up, the trainers are able to modify exercises to eliminate back strain while still working the intended muscles. My sons have also taken individual classes and the trainers have been able to not only tailor the workouts to their sport (wrestling,) but more specifically have tailored the workouts to the style they wrestle. I cannot say enough good things about Fitness Together.

I've been working out here for a few years now and it has been an amazing experience. The work outs are constantly changing keeping the sessions fresh with new and creative exercises. When I had hip surgery, my trainer was knowledgable in the way that he knew every muscle to target in order to make my recovery a speedy and painless process. Whether it is training for an event, recovering from an injury, or just wanting to get in/stay in shape, the atmosphere and expertise of Fitness Together makes any personal fitness goal realistic and achievable. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

I have been going to Fitness Together in Westford since 2015. When the business transitioned to new ownership in 2015, things improved greatly. There is a new environment with new trainers and leadership. I have worked out with a variety of trainers and have found each one to be knowledgeable.
No two workouts are the same, and the trainers are always looking for ways to improve my fitness level by asking questions about my daily activities and my diet to help me realize my goals.
The best part is that the trainers are focused on my individual needs and tailor the workout to me level. Itβs clear seeing other clients work out in the individual areas that everything is unique to the client.
They now are offering boot camps and yoga classes as well. Definitely worth checking out if you prefer or need one-on-one workout sessions and the constant encouragement to pursue a healthy lifestyle.
