I cannot say enough good things about Full Plate Strength and Conditioning. I started three months ago after noticing my body changing from years of a mostly sedentary lifestyle. I was worried that if I didn’t make a change now, it would only get harder as time went on.
Joining Full Plate has truly changed my life. The coaches are incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and encouraging. The format is full body, circuit training that is tailored to your abilities, at your pace. I leave every class sweaty, stronger and honestly, a little surprised with myself for the progress that is not only seen but felt! My low back pain is gone and my energy is back.
If you’re in your 40s or haven’t worked out consistently in a while, please take this as your sign. Full Plate is a supportive community that helps you believe in yourself again. I’m so grateful I found them!

Full Plate has been a life changing experience for me. Steve is a scientist, brilliant in his knowledge and approach to helping his clients achieve their goals. For me, he and his team have gone above and beyond my hopes for our work together. Experts told me that my recovery from some serious physical challenges and my hard work with regular PT were as good as I could expect. Not the way I wanted to finish life and my great PT team suggested Steve and Full Plate. The results have been beyond what experts said could be done. In what I do every day professionally, "good enough" has never been ok. With Steve and team its the same - we keep striving together to excel. I can do things now that I couldn't a year ago. My son has been going to Full Plate weekly and consistently for over 6 months and really enjoys it. A few of his comments on why he likes it:
1. The staff is nice, helpful, and motivating
2. Since this is his first gym program, he liked starting with a guided program to help him ease into the workout

I found out about Full Plate this past February and I did the evaluation with Steve. I’ve been attending two days a week since and love it. They have small classes with a personal trainer who guides you through the exercises, explaining and demonstrating how to do them. Also they are there to make sure you are using proper technique to get the most out of your training. The owner Steve is great and so are the trainers Coleby and Cal.

I have never been one to like to go to the gym. I didn’t know what to do, how to do it, and I didn’t have the discipline to show up everyday. Since day one of walking into Full Plate I have never felt dread about going to the gym. The Crew there is so knowledgeable and when you have limitations on any given day they will help you modify your workout so that it works for you.
They truly care about you as a whole person; mentally, emotionally and physically. There was a week I was dealing with some family things and could not make it to the gym, I received a text just checking in to make sure everything was ok and asking if I needed anything.
I have only been part of the gym for 3 months but the strength that I feel in just those 3 months is amazing! I cannot wait to see how I see/feel at 3 years!

My 15 year old daughter did the Strength and Conditioning program this summer. She loved the program and all the staff. Previously she had no motivation to work out like this. Full Plate was such a positive experience for her. 3x/week wasn't enough for her. She wanted to go more! The atmosphere had her engaged and motivated. Steve and his staff are so client oriented and a pleasure to work with. My daughter has seen great results and is enthusiastic to restart once she finishes her fall sport. The strength in her legs has been noticeable by many with her kick in soccer. On the ice, her upper body strength has been recognized by many with the change in the power of her shot. So appreciate to have a program like Full Plate. They've provided my daughter with motivation, positive self esteem as well increased strength!

10 out of 10 would recommend. I used to be pretty big into the gym but covid put a good pause on that. Of course this caused a bit of a backside. I've been trying to get back to wear I was precovid but I've found it to be quite difficult and rather defeating. Being older now than before of course just adds to the level of difficultly. I really felt stuck and this was starting to eat at me. After passing the comment that I really wished I could get help from someone that knows more than me in a fit of tears, my gentleman did some research on local gyms and surprised me with a membership to Full Plate for my birthday, hoping this would help give me the support I needed.
I've never been a morning person by any stretch of the imagination, but I've been going to the 6am sessions. I can honestly say my days always go better and faster when I start it at Full Plate. The owner, Steve, and the main coach I work with, Matt, are absolutely great. Doing new things, especially around people I don't know, is so far out of my comfort zone it's not even funny. Yet Steve and Matt are so friendly and nonintimidating it makes for a very welcoming environment. I always have an endless supply of questions that they never tire of answering or explaining things. They never get annoyed when I ask for a reminder of what an exercise is that I've forgotten and have no problem demonstrating. They're always there when you need a spot or help setting up/ putting things away. Tips and tricks are always freely given. They let you know how to better your form and also let you know when you're right on point. I'm generally the slowest to complete my routine for the session, but that is never an issue. They're always right there rooting you on. The other clientele I've met are super friendly and supportive as well. There's always plenty of good, light hearted humor to go around. That's a double win in my book.
This is truly a place where everyone, owner, coaches and other clientele alike are genuinely glad for you and support you in your personal wins and gains, no matter how small.

I have been training at home for years but decided to step out of my comfort zone and join Full Plate for a few months to learn and push myself (even though it was a bit of a drive for me). I loved it more than I thought I would and will miss training with Steve, Ryan, Matt, and Lily! It's been so fun pushing my limits and discovering that I'm stronger and more capable than I thought. The trainers were so helpful, patient, and fun. They do a great job managing the group sessions and somehow still making it feel like you have a personal trainer the whole time. I'm grateful that I got the chance to train at Full Plate for a few months and am excited to take the increased strength + confidence, improved form, and expanded knowledge with me as I continue my fitness journey in my basement gym.

Both my kids11 and 13 have been training at Full Plate for months now. They love going and are upset when our schedules don’t allow them to be there as much as they would like! They love seeing the gains and it has helped them with their sports. Everyone has been great to deal with and work with! I would highly recommend for any young athlete. Time and money well spent!!!!

I waited to put a review in on Full Plate Fitness because they had some turnover in staff, all due to college graduation and military commitments. I can honestly say it hasn’t lost a beat. Matt , the head instructor has picked up the torch where Megan ( former head trainer) has left off. The feeling and camaraderie of this gym is the best I’ve seen since my time in structured, compulsory programs. I want to go to the gym again!
If you want to make changes , this is the place to go. It’s real community, that is gently guided by some of the most dynamic and impressive young people I’ve seen.

I love this gym! The trainers (Steve & Megan) personalize the workouts to the participants goals focusing on implementing growth according to individual abilities.

Full Plate is amazing! Not just for building strength, but also as a place of community. I was lucky enough to find the gym driving by one day. Immediately looked them up online and had an assessment booked early that week. Just coming in for that, the other members in the gym were incredibly welcoming and I got the sense that it was the right mix of group fitness and personalized programs that I was looking for. I had recently moved across country and started working from home at the same time-- so it was hard for me to meet people and I was struggling with feeling really isolated. Starting to go to Full Plate was great for my physical health and my mental health.
The gym in the morning was something to look forward to and the crew is tight-knit and encouraging! I now go 4 days a week and it's what I look forward to most in the day! The best part is you get programs that are tailored towards your goals and coaches that keep you accountable. If you're looking for a spot with some amazing coaches and a sense of community - this is it!

I gave 5 stars because guys from here know how to take care of my body. They are motivating me each time I go there. Instead of just pumping my biceps muscles , they made some tests to check my body condition than they made a personalized program to correct the posture and improve balance. And admittedly I’ve been on a 3 week hiatus and I missed everyone so much including the way going here helps not only the strength of my body but the strength of my mind. I can't say enough about Full Plate, Steve and his staff. The gym is clean, fully equipped and roomy. It's actually the best experience I've had at a gym, and I've been to a few. It's a perfect balance of group engagement and individual time. If you're someone who isn't overly excited about "group workouts" but still would like the comradery of others with spot on support of the staff, FPSC is the place.

If there were six stars, I'd ask for a 7th. Full Plate Strength & Conditioning is that good, and Steve and his team are awesome to work with. They take the time to understand where you are currently and then design a program exclusively for you based on your personal goals. Steve's philosophy and approach is exactly what I needed. After over 40 years of trying to maintain a high level of fitness on my own that only proved to be more challenging with age and which resulted in too much time spent injured, I went to Steve. FPS&C gets it! Steve has literally stopped me from doing things that would have only resulted in me injuring myself. I'm more flexible, leaner and motivated to not miss a workout! Hire Steve and crew to properly coach you to a level of fitness that's sustainable, appropriate for you and will keep you coming back for more. You will be glad you did. I certainly am!

This is by far the best gym I have experienced in Western MA. I did CrossFit for several years and needed a change per my Dr. Everything from the staff, the owner, the facility and the equipment is perfect. The workouts are challenging and it’s always fun. There is a great group of dedicated clients who motivate each other. I have been there over 4 years now and love it. I highly recommend this gym to anyone that I talk to.

I have been going to Full Plate for almost 2 years now and the monthly training plans that Steve and his trainers put together are challenging, fun and get refreshed to keep things interesting. The classes are small, personal and inviting. The plans can be tailored to everyone's individual needs and goals. I was able to pick a plan (2 day/week) that I can easily commit to. Full Plate is an awesome place to workout. I've been going for 3-4 months now, and I'm stronger than I've ever been. When you join they make a plan specific to your strengths and weakness (which they assess at the start). The trainers here are very very knowledgeable and always willing to modify your workout to your specific needs at the time. For example, if something is hurting/feels weird they'll advise you on whether it's okay to stay at your current weight, you should lower the weight, you modify the exercise or you should skip that exercise for the day. Honestly, assuming you're doing the best you can with sleep and diet, I don't think you're going to get better results anywhere else, especially if you are training specifically for sports. That said, they are very welcoming to people such as myself who don't play sports and just want to get stronger, faster, etc. Also, because they do group sessions here, it's much cheaper than paying for a personal trainer, but you still get plenty of attention to make sure you're doing the exercises right and optimizing your gains. (They do also offer personal training.) I'm fairly certain the minimum age to join is 11, but many older people also go here. There is a good mix of young, adolescent, and middle aged-old people. My teenage son absolutely loves Full Plate. He has changed so much physically and mentally. It's very impressive. Everyone at Full Plate is absolutely amazing. The guidance and expertise is top notch. The personal coaching is like no other. My son would go everyday if he could. He is excited and eager to go every time. Get ready to work! I was tired of being skinny my whole life. Years of working at the desk has tighten my hips and arched my back. Instead of forcing you to handle heavy loads, Steve sought these imbalances out first and made sure we focus on exercises that helped correct these imbalances which meant a lot to me. After 12 months of personal training with Steve, I am now the heaviest, strongest, and healthiest I have ever been in my life. The education I received from him will stay with me forever.

If you're looking for a gym that will challenge you, give you a sense of community and help you attain your goals - this is the gym for you. I have been coming to FP for about a year and it makes me wonder why I've waited so long! Full Plate works with all fitness levels from beginner to experienced. The coaches are wonderful to work with, and they go above and beyond to help you with your goals to ensure you are successful. They truly care. You also build relationships with others in your group sessions as well, being that you are all on the struggle bus together lol. While there is SO much more I could say, overall its a 20000/10 recommendation from me. You won't regret it!

My wife and I attend the morning classes together and have found Coach Steve and the rest of his staff phenomenal. They are able to tailor workout plans to meet the goals of whoever walks through the door, whether someone is a college athlete, weekend warrior, or has never set foot in a gym. The equipment is well maintained, organized, and allows for a range of exercises that keep every workout engaging and appropriately challenging.
What is most remarkable though is the community. Steve has garnered a community of mutual support where everyone in the class is excited to see each other, accomplishing this by leading with respect, care, and a wealth of knowledge that he is always willing to share.

Full Plate is the BEST! It is a very encouraging environment with lots of different fitness levels. I came with lots of physical restrictions and Steve was able to create a personal plan for me that took all my concerns and goals into account. I started with one on one personal training however I recently transitioned into a "personal training group". Now I get to work out with lots of awesome people but still have a personalized program. Have been a member of this gym through high school and into college. As a collegiate athlete, Full Plate has ensured my preparation for any physical challenges I may be met with. I have been going to Steve’s gym for almost a year now and have seen great results. I use to perceive weight lifting very differently until I started going to Full Plate. Weight lifting used to intimidate me and I used to think it was something I would never do because it would make me look “bulky” and “too muscular” for a woman. But I have learned so much and realized how wrong I was. I will say that Steve is really good at what he does and pays attention to your progress and technique, guiding and teaching you along the way. He incorporates warm ups, weight lifting, cardio, stretching, proper technique, healthy eating, and much more into his sessions. He tailors the exercises to each individual and helps you realizes your potential. I have learned a great deal and have seen great results. He also leads boot camp classes on Saturday mornings that are guaranteed to make you sweat! Every time I go to boot camp or any workout session, I know that I can expect a workout that will “kick my butt”. AWESOME gym and very friendly atmosphere.

Steve set a personal program that suits my goals and strength potential so perfectly that I feel more energized after the workout than before it and I'm sooo satisfied with the results !!
Came in 7 weeks before my wedding day with a goal to fit into my wedding dress and we reached the goal !! So so happy to be a member of this gym ! By the way, the Saturday morning sessions are the best and the most fun ☺️

Awesome place to workout and prepare yourself for your athletic endeavors. Steve is very good at teaching you how to train and prepare yourself for lifting, a little bit at a time. Great community there that continues building you up and makes you stronger physically and mentally.
