A welcoming community and a team of outstanding trainers ready to help you on your fitness goals. I’ve been going here for about a year and appreciate how easy and flexible it is to sign up for time slots that work for my week. Also love that I just need to show up and the talented trainers take care of making sure I get the most out of my session. Added bonus that all the other trainees in the session are kind and fun.

I've now been a member here for 2 1/2 years, and it is by far the most consistently I've used a gym membership. I really enjoy the trainers and the women I've met there. Paying a little more for small group training means I actually go--even/especially when I'm recovering from an injury. I get a great workout tailored to me.

I've been a member at Get In Shape For Women Porter Square for 2+ years now and cannot recommend this studio highly enough! The workouts are challenging but tailored to your individual needs/abilities and the community of women who work out together make every session that much more enjoyable. Everyone is super supportive, kind, and positive. John does an amazing job of motivating everyone and keeping every workout fun through his positivity, Dad jokes and dance moves. He's also taken and continues to take all recommended precautions for COVID, which makes working out feel super safe. Katie is fantastic to work out with as well and does an excellent job combining old and new exercises to keep every session interesting.

2021:
GET IN SHAPE FOR WOMEN is fantastic, and the Porter Square location is absolutely wonderful. I’ve been working out here for six years. John and the other trainers are experts, as well as warm people, demanding in a good way, and very responsive to individual needs and requests. The facility is pristine, and the atmosphere is friendly and fun. I love this place!

I've been coming to the gym for over three years now and absolutely love both the workouts and the community. John is a joy to work out with and I've met some great women in the small-group training classes . The pandemic has been difficult both physically and mentally so I was excited to come back. I feel really safe with all the COVID protocols in place at the gym and it's great to be back and working out again. 10/10 would recommend.

I love this gym! I've done circuit training at several gyms and this is my favorite by far! Catering to women of all ages, John and Katie are great about adapting workouts to all levels, limitations and abilities. I don't feel the pressure I did at other gyms about not being able to keep up someone much younger than me (I'm 54), but still feel challenged (in a good way). Aside from the workout, I love the community in Get In Shape. Both John and Katie take the time to get to know the members personally and everyone is super supportive of each other. Whatever your age or fitness level, if you're looking for a great workout at a gym that won't make you feel self-conscious, this is for you!

I have been with GISFW for two years and have had a terrific workout experience. The trainers are excellent and the management is very flexible and sensitive to everyone's scheduling needs. Get in Shape for Women Porter Square is clearly the best gym I have ever joined! The two owners Kate and John are truly the heart and soul of the gym! John is an excellent trainer who can adjust the work-out to each individual’s needs and goals, and his never ending cheerful and encouraging attitude makes everybody work out the very best they can! Kate runs the business with John expertly , she knows everybody by name and makes each member feel like family.
I happily sweat and work out every day in that gym!!!

Here's what I love about Porter Square GISFW: *The professionalism of the staff - they love what they do and want nothing more than my success - they take this very seriously. *They know how to vary the exercises and the pace so we'll push ourselves harder to get more results. *Their 'can-do' spirit is infectious, and they all have a wonderful sense of humor. *They acknowledge our aches and pains and body ailments and help us work safely through our issues and challenges; they also know when to recommend outside help; they seek to work within our doctor's (or physical therapist's) guidelines. *They go the extra mile to problem-solve and/or work with us around special issues. *They are a wealth of knowledge around best-practice nutrition, healthy and non-healthy foods and lifestyle choices to keep us FIT. *They are always encouraging us. *The owners run the company like a real (professional) business with excellent standards and communication; making and changing appointments is easy, managing our calendars is easy, discussion of finances is straight-forward, etc. They are accessible and transparent, smart and I trust them completely. *Even when I don't feel like going, I know I really want to go - and I DO because they believe in me and I do not want to let them down.
