🌟 I always feel so good after sessions I just want to walk around for an hour feeling yummy and aligned and strong in my body! Very grateful for Risa's specific and responsive knowledge, and for her willingness to delve into nerdy somatic depths with me...She's a gem and truly passionate about her work, her clients and their progress! Saturdays with Risa has been life changing. She is a fantastic Pilates teacher and can’t believe how I’ve been able to get into my muscles. I’ve taken mat classes for years before starting with her regularly and she’s really helped me find proper technique and help me be more mindful of my body mechanics. Her studio is lovely with such beautiful authentic equipment. Wish I could go every day!

I've been taking private lessons weekly with Risa for 5 months now. This is my first time doing Pilates and I came to it looking to strengthen and support my core after healing from a powerlifting induced lower back injury. The difference is incredible! My core is so much stronger and more supportive, both in Pilates classes, lifting, and in daily life. While I started this journey thinking I would fix my injury and retreat back to the safety of my barbell, I have fallen in love with Pilates. It's the hardest exercise I've ever done, and yet I leave each session feeling refreshed.

Great studio. I started pilates at Great River looking to strengthen my core and improve my posture. I appreciate how Risa personalizes our sessions taking into account what my body needs and sensitive to the the fact I have ruptured tendons. I wasn’t sure one session a week would be beneficial, but I have begun to see improvement in strength, balance, and alignment. Highly recommend!

Risa is a wonderful instructor! Within one session, we identified all my issues, and I got to experience the most intense and effective exercises I have done in Pilates so far. Whether it is isolating certain muscles and muscle groups or combining them to address certain movements, Risa always finds the right workout for me. Over the last ten years, I have practiced Pilates in California, D.C., and Germany - in Risa I have found the best one yet!

This is an AMAZING studio - Risa is such a gifted teacher/trainer and a delightful teacher/trainer with rigor and empathy. She tailors sessions to your body's (and mind's!) needs and sees capabilities in you that you didn't know about yourself...
I have done pilates for almost 20 years and she is the best I've had!

I tried Great River Pilates when my massage therapist recommended it. After breaking my back last year and getting a diagnosis of severe osteoporosis, I have been working to build bone, strengthen my core and improve my posture. Risa personalizes instruction with my osteoporosis in mind; she is consistently positive and encouraging. At first I wondered how I could make progress with just one session a week, but now I'm really seeing improvement. Pilates is teaching me to isolate and use particular muscles. That carries over into the strength training work that I do. Through my work at Great River Pilates, I have increased my awareness of my muscles and can make micro adjustments to improve my posture throughout the day as I work at my computer, cook, garden, etc.
