Extremely disappointed with our experience at the Groton Country Club pool. I brought my son for swimming practice — he was the only one entering the water — yet I was still forced to pay the full $15 admission fee just to sit on the deck and supervise. Charging non-swimming parents the same rate as swimmers is unreasonable and frankly feels like a money grab.

It got worse when I asked for a kickboard for my son to use. A kind staff member initially gave us one, but moments later another employee came over and told us that no equipment is allowed unless it’s during an official swim lesson. This makes no sense. My kid was surprised with the behavior of the staffs. I will consider this is kind of mean.

These rigid, unwelcoming policies completely defeat the purpose of using a community pool for learning and skill-building. I expected better and will seriously reconsider returning — and I wouldn’t recommend it to other families looking for a supportive environment for young swimmers.

I immediately left the facility and drove to nearest YMCA to give my kid the required support. He did his swim practice and with kick board from the YMCA without any extra charge for me or the kick board. My suggestion for this the management is to put a balance between people and money .

Nice 9 hole course. The first 3 holes are difficult mostly because of blinded site lines. Difficult to see hole and it is up and down a hilly section. After that it was great. Nestled in an area that was surrounded by fall foliage. To top off the experience there's an excellent Brew pub. Definitely will go again. ENJOY

Great local course that has only been getting better! Shawn has done a great job over the last few years and only made it more enjoyable! Some challenging holes, due to terrain and good greens. Plus the Publick House is awesome. Can’t beat the price!

It's a good course for the money. The greens are nice. The first few holes have some hills that definitely play long. It's hard to play uphill like that. It can be hard to find your ball on the other side of a hill but the course is wide which helps. We enjoyed our outing and will play here again.

This is a town owned course and they have invested in it and continue to make improvements. Great value for the spend and for practice. I golf at this this course every morning see how hard the greenskeeper, Bill Colby and his team water and manicure the greens. The golf pro, Shawn Campbell, is very talented and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to improve his or her game!

You get what you pay for. Price was great for a 9 hole course. But the course is in rough shape. Poorly maintained many areas of the fairway had no grass and the ball just rolls uncontrollably or sits in mud. Not glamorous, but if you want a cheap quick 9 you could do worse.

First of all, this is not a real golf course. The first 4 holes were so hilly that you had no idea where your ball went. There is no fair way and all the grass is the same length. The tee boxes were so disgusting and not cut at all. The range there is also awful and you can’t even hit half of your clubs cause of the distance. The price is awful and is not worth $18 for 9 holes. Never go here if you want to have a nice round of golf. Worst course i’ve ever been to.
