Sean listens to what I have to say about how an exercise is affecting me and how I feel after the workout. He also keeps in mind what goals I have, working in exercises to help me achieve those goals. He works in a bit of fun and is always very pleasant. I have been working out for about 8 months now and I can't believe how much stronger I am! Thanks Sean!

I worked with Sean for several months on various CrossFit techniques and a couple of issues I was having. Working with him was great. I found him super knowledgeable, very easy to talk to and friendly, and he significantly helped me in my performance of the CrossFit workouts and resolved my issues.

Sean is an exceptional trainer who has been instrumental in helping me manage my fitness journey with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome for over three years now. His focused, diligent approach and remarkable patience have made all the difference in achieving my fitness goals while working through complex medical challenges.
When I first reached out to Sean, I had been recently diagnosed with hypermobile EDS and was struggling with chronic low back pain. Improper positioning of my low back and pelvis had led to multiple injuries - hamstring tendinitis and Achilles tendinitis - that I was unknowingly making worse in my regular HIIT classes. I didn't understand what I was doing incorrectly to create these ongoing issues.
Sean took the time to truly understand Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and how it affects my body. He designed a comprehensive program specifically tailored to strengthen the areas that needed the most attention - my low back, hips, knees, and core - while teaching me subtle but crucial adjustments to my form that protect my hypermobile joints. Over our three years together, he has successfully helped me work through not only my original lower back issues, but also neck and shoulder problems that have developed along the way.
The results speak for themselves: I no longer experience the chronic low back pain that once limited my daily activities, and I feel confident and strong in my training. Sean has helped me navigate acute pain episodes, including a knee strain brought on by travel, consistently reducing my pain in record time through his expert guidance.
What sets Sean apart is not just his technical expertise, but his reliability and trustworthiness. He's consistently dependable, showing up prepared and focused on my specific needs each session. Honestly, I don't think I would be able to work out safely without his help - he has prevented countless injuries by understanding my condition and adapting my training accordingly.
Sean is absolutely worth every penny. For someone with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, finding a trainer who truly understands hypermobility and can work safely within those constraints is invaluable. I cannot recommend him highly enough for anyone, especially those dealing with complex medical conditions that affect their fitness journey.

When I worked with Sean, I was over 65, with lots of aches and pains. He coached on weight lifting techniques, balance drills, and specific exercises that strengthened my weak spots and, somewhat magically, many of them (especially my shoulder) pain- free. He was patient and friendly and got my lifting to a new level.

Three years ago I decided to take on CrossFit but had no experience and was out of shape. Sean was recommended and I decided to give him a shot. He’s easy to work with and knows what he is doing. Within a short time, he had me participating in some classes. I am happy to say that CrossFit is still going strong for me, attending classes 4 days a week. Thanks for your help Sean!

I met Sean for a free consultation/session. Sean is a pleasure to work with and had detailed, individual feedback for me about how to help me prioritize taking care of my leg, back, and upper body muscle groups. It is obvious that Sean is passionate, qualified, and thoughtful about what might be a good set of exercises for me to take on personally. If you are looking to make some changes or invest in a personal trainer Sean is great!

I was struggling with possible nerve damage/numbness in my shoulder and hand after getting t-boned. My doctors, PT, and even a chiropractor all brushed me off, so I felt stuck trying to improve my health and feel my best when I couldn't even work out properly. Sean really listened and helped fine tune workouts, and he never gave up even when we didn't know what was wrong. After a year I finally got the feeling back in my hand! I am so grateful for his hard work and how he never gave up; I feel so much better and I'm so excited to move forward with my health back.

I started working with Sean about a year ago on the recommendation of another one of his clients. I have hypermobility issues, so I haven't had a lot of luck with trainers in the past.

Sean is fantastic at adapting to my ever-changing needs....I'll walk in and say "today is not a good shoulder/foot/knee day", and he'll rearrange the plan on the fly! He really hears what I say and adapts things to my limitations.

Even changing around as needed, I'm still getting much stronger (and more confident!) as we go along. I drive a significant way to get to Acton each time because it is SO worth it to work with him!

I highly recommend Sean, especially for folks who don't feel confident in going to the gym right now for whatever reason (including chronic conditions!).

I started my dedicated fitness journey with Sean two years ago and instantly connected with his tailored approach and easy-going demeanor. As a 50+-year-old techie, I sat and traveled a lot and needed to do something. He listened to my fitness goals and developed a balanced strength and mobility program that has helped me tremendously. Overall, I’ve learned a tremendous amount and increased my strength and flexibility to a level I haven’t seen in years. Most importantly, I enjoy working out now and am no longer intimidated by strength training or stuck on where to start.

Sean’s new studio (HavertyHealth) in West Acton Village is a great spot to keep me on track, and I look forward to it every week. (It doesn’t hurt that he’s an avid sports and 90s music fan, either :)

Sean comes highly recommended! Very knowledgeable and perfect for keeping me accountable for my fitness goals.
