My son has been working with Theo since the summer and has been such an incredible experience for him. Theo is so warm and welcoming and meets you where you are. The Heroes experience is like no other gym I’ve belonged. Every trainers is knowledgeable, creative with their workouts and personable. Connor (the owner) has created an environment that’s intense, happy and positive all at the same time. I’ve done personal training as well as group classes and both are equally rewarding. The classes are high energy and always different. There is no minimum or maximum age requirement at Heroes which adds to the uniqueness of the gym. I’ve met so many awesome people there. Rachel has completely changed the way I approach training! She knows exactly how to challenge me without overwhelming me, and she somehow always knows when I need a push or just some encouragement. Preparing for Hyrax it felt intimidating at first, but with Rachel by my side, I actually feel excited and capable. She notices the progress I sometimes overlook and reminds me to give myself credit. Having her support through the ups and downs has made this whole process feel more doable—and even fun!

I’ll cut right to the chase. Heroes is great. I joined 2 1/2 years ago and I was out of shape and unhealthy and, as of today, I have lost 20 pounds and I feel better than I have since college.

As an ADHD person, I sometimes struggle with discipline, but Heroes gives me a combination of workouts that are so fun and compelling, as well as super difficult and challenging, that after my first session, I knew I would be coming back from that time on.

My personal trainer Nick is exceptional. He has guided me all the way on this journey back to fitness. Obviously he knows his stuff and gives me customized workouts tailored to where I am at the time, but also his personality and sense of humor make the experience even better.

I kept raving about how great heroes was, so eventually my wife decided to try it out about a year and a half ago and she has also continued to work out and Heroes ever since. Nick designs workouts for the two of us.

The latest chapter of the story is that there is an athletic competition called HYROX and it is extremely challenging and, based on my progress at Heroes, I have decided to take part in this competition in September. I am now training with Nick and actually all of the Heroes trainers and many of the clients are going to take part, which just shows you what a community we have.

When I started at heroes 2 1/2 years ago and out of shape it would never have occurred to me that I could even think of joining a competition like this but now I am excited to try to go to the next level. Overall, I can’t say enough about this wonderful community in Wellesley. Go Heroes! And YOU should go to Heroes!

I have been going to Mike Nolan at Heroes for 6 months now. It is different than any other workout I have done in the past and this gym checks every box. Joining very out of shape on Day 1, I immediately felt comfortable and welcome. The only thing wrong with this place is how long it took me to discover it! Heroes is truly the best. I have been training with Mike for 9 months now, and have never felt stronger. At Heroes, you alternate between cardio and strength workouts and each day focuses on a specific part of the body like legs, arms, cardio/core, and full body. What I like most about the classes is that no workout is ever the same, so my body is always learning to adapt. The instructors are passionate about what they do and it shows. Knowing our trainers will take us to the edge and a little beyond to create more flexible and stronger versions of ourselves creates a sense of confidence. All of the trainers at Heroes join together to set a very high bar for fitness, positivity, motivation, ingenuity, enthusiasm and effort. I don't know of many businesses that don't have a weak link, but this one doesn't.

The ingredients alchemize: a mixture of great music, world-class equipment, and passionate coaches makes for a great cocktail...er, fitness club.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
My husband wanted to get fit as the pandemic was ending, so he joined Heroes Fitness: a welcoming, modern gym filled with friendly, outgoing trainers and the latest types of equipment. He loved working out with his personal trainer, Nick, from the very first session. Nick is expert and also injects positivity, fun, and humor into his (always changing and always challenging) workouts.

It was initially a shock to me that I started joining my husband for the workouts. I’d never really lifted weights before and I thought of a personal trainer as a luxury experience that was a gift for my overworked husband, not for me. I quickly learned that it’s delightful to have a motivated professional designing exactly how I will become stronger, leaner, and more balanced (re: muscles and flexibility). I don’t have to figure out any of it; I just show up.

Now my husband and I are enjoying becoming fitter, and we buzz on post-exercise endorphins and the realization that our bodies are capable of much more than we thought. We really appreciate how Nick is designing workouts for us that are exactly what we both need and encouraging us all of the way. I’d highly recommend Nick as a trainer to anyone who wants to blend fun with results.

60 pounds gone! I couldn’t have done it without the help of Nick, Matt and Theo. Amazing trainers who helped me reach this milestone.
Over a year ago, at 58 years old, I needed to do something to help me keep up with my Preschool Class. Four year olds have endless energy!
I needed a gym that was close by, had early AM classes and small groups.
Yes, it was intimidating those first few months. I was the oldest and heaviest one there. But the trainers were great, correcting my form, watching out for my safety while all the while pushing hard. The early AM members were also supportive, patient and friendly (Well, as friendly as you can be at 5:30AM;).
Over a year later, I’m still the oldest (And probably still the heaviest) one there but I am so much stronger and confident.

I can't believe I haven't done this review before now. I have been coming to Heroes for 3 years this month. As a physician, I worked non-stop during Covid and did not exercise AT ALL. My plan was to try personal training at Heroes for 6-8 weeks, just to ease myself back into exercise safely... and yet here I am 3 years later.

The difference between Heroes and any other gym I've belonged to (the list is long BSC, Equinox, Lifetime, etc) is the COMMUNITY that Connor and his team (Matt, Nick, Mike) have created. I have met so many great people and I love being part of the Heroes family. They have created an inspiring, positive, and supportive space for clients and their families. Matt trains my daughters as well and many clients bring their kids.

The trainers are outstanding here and they challenge you to bring your A-game every day. Matt has me in the best shape of my. life and injury-free which is quite a feat as I near 50.

If you are looking for gym that feels like family, motivates you to push through hard workouts, and is filled with laughter, sweat, and love, then give Heroes a try, you will not be disappointed.

Had four awesome personal training sessions here. Truly HARD, awesome workouts that seemed tailored to what I wanted to accomplish. The gym is small and sparse, but clean, and all the equipment is new.

Then why the one-star review?

For my fifth personal training session, I showed up, and my trainer told me that instead of our planned session, we’d be doing a semi-private class and then tacking 20 minutes of personal training onto that.

The other students were already there, so he wasn’t giving me a choice. It was take the class or leave, even though I had reserved that time with him for personal training, and the additional 20 minutes didn’t fit into my schedule.

I left, and I won’t be back. There are a lot of options when it comes to personal trainers here. I feel like honoring a reservation is really basic professionalism.

If you can’t do that, at least communicate as early as possible that plans are changing.

I get the feeling that they are short staffed and under pressure, but that may be just my take.

I’m a BIG fan of Heroes and their trainers! They’ve helped me feel the most confident, leanest and strongest I have in years! One-on-one sessions with Ally were awesomely bespoke and helped me through some injuries and really improved my strength and form. 💪🏼 Classes with Nick have been brilliant fun, he’s super motivational, mixes it up all the time and pushes you the just the right amount! You’ll be maxed out but not broken, so you can (and will want to) come back for more!! 🙌🏼

Do I want to get up at 5 or 6am 3x a week to work out? No. Do I do it because Nick is motivating, encouraging and makes the workouts enjoyable but challenging? Yes. 1000%

I started personal training with Nick at the end of nov. 2022 and I can already see an increase in my fitness level and strength. He pushes me every session to get better and do more than the last time.

Overall Heroes is an awesome place with great trainers and a very welcoming community. I definitely recommend.

Heroes Fitness is the real deal! Run, don’t walk, to join this gym and take classes or personal training from Nick.

We have been seeing Nick since November 2022 and working to rebuild my fitness level which is significantly behind my daughter’s. Nick has gone out of his way to push me beyond my own self-limitations in all areas and built up my confidence- he is a great motivator!

I am not someone who likes personal training but Nick makes it fun and changes it up every time so that it never gets boring. He has great playlists and even made me one!

The community at Heroes is great - all body types and all levels of fitness. Everyone is really encouraging and supportive as is the rest of the staff there.

Best decision I made was to join this gym and start personal training with Nick.

It's not the physical space or equipment that makes Heroes special - they have the same gear as any other well equipped gym. It's the people. Connor, Matt and the rest of the crew just do a terrific job in motivating you in a positive way without being overly preachy or inaccessible. I do tease them that the rowers and bikes do not give the client credit for the first three seconds of every interval, either due to special programming or little people inside the machines. But, to be clear, this is a joke, and I do not actually think they are employing tiny children to work inside the exercise equipment in order to make it harder. Occasionally at 6am I am convinced that this is going on, and I may have made that accusation. Or that they hired some coders from MIT to do it. I just know that I never get any credit on the machines for those first three seconds. If you're wondering if I make these jokes to try to make them go easy on me, you'd be correct... and the answer is that no, it doesn't work, but they are still nice enough to laugh at the joke while continuing to make me work out. Again - that's the magic of the place. They will match not just the nuts and bolts of the workout to your needs, but also match its style to your personality.

I'd give them six stars except for that three-second delay...

I’m a runner, swimmer and biker and had considered myself fit but knew I needed to incorporate some sort of strength training to round out my fitness. Flexibility and strength are so vital, but I have never been able to stick to any type of HIT workout or strength training routine. A friend nudged me to try Hero’s and everything changed. I was torn about writing this review, because I don’t want my trainer to get completely booked up! Matt has been helping me train for a physical fitness test I need to pass for a job application, and I am so thrilled to have found him. He clearly knows the right muscles to target for my goals, and the most efficient exercises to help me reach them. Not only that, but he’s seriously the nicest guy!
