Absolutely love their child and adult classes! The space is open, clean, easy to access, and beautiful. All the teachers we have had for classes and pop-up events have been kind, encouraging, and make movement fun! The adult classes have been a wonderful addition to my routine. I love taking a weekly ballet class and have enjoyed the high energy dance cardio class, too. We have also rented the space for birthday parties. It worked perfect for a large gathering. High St Studios is truly a wonderful place!

High Street is a haven for dancers of all ages. My daughter (now 5.5) started classes at 2 and I’ve even taken an adult ballet class. The environment in open and welcoming. The pressure that can be expected in many dance studios is nowhere to be found at High Street. Rather than a focus on body image there is importance placed on strength and being in tune with our bodies. We’re so lucky that Jenny chose to bring her gift to all of us. If you are thinking about joining, try out one of the community dance classes on the weekend, I’m guessing you will be hooked!

My son has been attending the hip hop class. I can’t say enough great things about this school. Jenny is the kindest owner you’ll ever meet. His teacher Jeff has helped build confidence and continued enthusiasm for dance in my son. And as an added bonus my toddler enjoys playing with toys they provide while we wait for his brother. I had the opportunity of taking Adult Modern with Molly Tupper and Adult Hip Hop with Jeff Jean Phillipe. Having been a dancer for my entire early life until high school graduation, dance has always been an extremely important outlet for me.

Since graduation, I have spent the last 10 years searching for an adult class that would challenge and educate me. I never had any luck with the classes that were offered or the geographies I've lived in and there's been a hole in my life where dance should be, until High Street Studio.

Modern with Molly Tupper and Hip Hop with Jeff Jean Phillipe is everything I've been looking for. I'm so grateful to have stumbled upon this studio and I'm so happy to have this outlet back in my life!!

My daughter identified more as an athlete than a dancer, so she was hesitant to sign up for a dance class. Within minutes of being with Jenny, she felt so comfortable and excited to try dance. The "vibe" she creates is welcoming and inclusive of all types of children. I saw the positive effects trying something new had on her self-esteem. I attribute her appreciation of dance and confidence to try something new (and get on stage!!) 100 percent to Jenny. She is wonderful at helping a child express themselves in their own creative way while also teaching the fundamentals of dance.I am so happy and appreciative that my daughter's foray into the dance world was with Jenny!

Jenny Carlson has been more than just a dance teacher in my life. She become a mentor, a friend, and an escape at times. I began dancing with her and other teaches she has hired about 17 years ago. Every class is thoughtfully created with very specific adjustments for each student no matter what challenges. She creates a safe space that is more than just a dance studio, one that allows outlets beyond just physical movement. She curated my love for the arts and exposed me to many different types of dance that I would have never known. I cannot recommend this studio enough. Every single person belongs here no matter the age, size, physical ability etc.

I have danced in classes led by the instructors at High Street Studio since 2008. As an older adult, I appreciate the gentle approach, which makes dance fun, as well as wonderful for maintaining strength and balance, both of which become more important as we age.

I also was the proud grandmother of two dancers who enjoyed taking modern dance with Jenny Carlson from ages 5 to now (19 and 22). It has been a special treat to dance with them sometimes during summer programs.

My daughters absolutely love dancing with Ms Jenny. The warmth and joy that she brings to each class is unlike anything we as a family typically experience as part of an after school activity.

I recently had the opportunity to see the new High Street Studio space and I cannot wait for classes to begin in this beautiful new spot. It is open and airy while at the same time still somehow feels cozy and welcoming (also - right next door to Little Wolf, which will surely make my drop off/pick up experience something to look forward to!)

Our daughter has been taking dance lessons with Jenny and her team since she was 2.5 or 3. Jenny's team is wonderful with the kids, always warm and welcoming and knowledgeable. I have been dancing with Jenny Carlson at her previous studio for over 7 years throughout middle and high school and wouldn't trade it for the world. Ms. Jenny is such a kind, loving, and warm person and dancing with her was always the best part of my day. I have been going to Jenny Carlson’s studio at its prior location for over ten years and have not only grown as a dancer, but have also developed beautiful friendships. All of the classes are led by very professional movers and are incredibly welcoming to new dancers, regardless of age or skill level. We are lucky to have such an amazing dance studio on the north shore and not have to travel into Boston or Cambridge. Try it! You won’t be disappointed.
