Amazing gym. The atmosphere and lighting is incredible. The machines are top quality Hammer and Nautilus equipment . They recently added a new section with amazing leg equipment and a hot/cold recovery room. In also have to say that it is absolutely the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to.

Best gym I’ve been to by far, been going for almost 3 years now and the environment is amazing. The expansion makes the gym even better with more equipment and more space. Everyone there is always happy to help give tips and want's to see you do your best. The trainers are awesome as well! Iv had a awful experience with this gym first they are way over price consider the things they have they have no locker room and one bathroom with one shower the gym is incredibly small and not the mention unless you are active military are seriously injured or move 25 plus miles from the gym you must pay a 200 dollar cancellation fee not to mention I was given the run around for 6 months never going back to this gym especially since the YMCA is like 30 bucks

The owners are nice. The gym is small but nice. I loved the atmosphere. I was a member here for almost 2 years. I ended up cancelling my membership because I just wasn't going that often. I'm writing a negative review because of the billing service they are using. They wanted to continue charging me for an ENTIRE YEAR after I cancelled my membership. Some gyms will charge an extra month, annoying but no big deal. An entire year is nuts.

4/2/2024 - This is my update, based on the reply by Gustav at Iron Gym to my original review (below the line.)

These people are liars! I only attended Iron Gym for a short time (Nov 2022 - Mar 2023) with a personal trainer. They told me I was signing permission for Iron Gym to debit my credit card monthly for use of the gym for my training! THEY NEVER MENTIONED MEMBERSHIP OR A ONE YEAR COMMITMENT . Further - THEY KNEW MY TRAINING WAS FOR A SHORT TERM ONLY.

Further, I was supposed to initial the section of the contract that committed me to a one-year membership. I never did, because this section was never pointed out or explained. However, a DUPLICATE OF MY SIGNATURE was CUT-AND-PASTED on the “initials” line after being greatly reduced in size. Seriously- No human signs their name that small!

Gustav, whom I’ve never met, claims I was granted a 3-month leave at the request of my trainer. I never asked for that, and it never happened!

Nov 2022 - I was charged $50 (initiation fee) + 39.95 (monthly fee). I continued to be charged $39.95/month from December 2022 through April 2023. Thar’s 6 straight months. I stopped training in March. April was an overcharge.

I received a new debit card after that April auto-payment, so the old one was defunct. I never heard again from Iron Gym, and had no idea they were still racking up monthly charges.

Iron Gym never bothered to call me, email me, or write me at all. In August 2023, I received a letter from a law office (operating as a collection agency) claiming I owed $405 to them for the Iron Gym charges.

Even if I did owe for the remaining 6 months, the full amount would have been $239.70, not $405.

I explained to the law firm that the charges were in dispute, and I didn’t owe anything. They said they’d destroy my credit if I didn’t pay the $405, then hung up on me.

I complained to the desk associate at Iron Gym in person, gave my contact info (which they already had), and NEVER HEARD BACK!

The law firm destroyed my credit as promised. Experian dropped me from an Excellent rating to a Fair rating - That placed me into a high risk category, disqualifying me for most types of credit.

AVOID THESE LYING SCAMMERS AT ALL COST!

DON’T SIGN ANYTHING! DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES. I hired an Iron Gym employee for short-term personal training. The owner and trainer presented me with paperwork to sign, explaining it was to debit my account for use of the gym while training. What she (the owner) rushed me into signing, without explaining it, was a one-year membership.

The owner had a fiduciary responsibility to honestly explain the form as a one-year contract, something I would never have signed. Instead of calling me, emailing me, or texting me for non-payment (as I was issued a new debit card number a month after my training ended), they continued to charge me for months after.

They sold the account to a law firm:collection agency, who billed me $405. When I explained to Iron Gym and the law firm (who hung up on me) that I didn’t owe the money, EXPERIAN was notified, and my credit rating was decreased from Excellent (780s) to FAIR (580s) I pay my bills and they destroyed my good credit. Terrible place.

I forwarded a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and another to the MA Attorney General’s office.

We went on a day pass this week and we were immediately greeted by one of the owners and the super sweet gym pup (our favorite part, always), shortly the other owner came up behind me to greet me and surprised me with a hug and introduction. Being that I'm originally from the South the hospitality at Iron Gym was unparalleled for New England. There is a full spread of new Hammer Strength equipment and their new style rubberized plates which is very nice! The gym plays body building related media on large screens and they actually asked for our music requests to get us feeling comfy! When we started to lift heavier the owners came and talked to us about the sport and equipment which my husband loved! We saw a pro wellness competitor working out for the Boston Pro this coming weekend, and she was more than happy to interact with her fans! Overall with how close this gym is for us, the customer service, nice facilities, and such an AMAZING inclusive vibe, we're looking at discontinuing some of our 5 other gym memberships to get one here. Day passes are $20 which adds up quickly for a couple, but it was worth it to find Iron Gym. Now I'm going to bother them to see if a hack squat could fit in the space, but they are always on the lookout for the latest and greatest! Update: The hubby and I have now been members since the visits above and love this gym. Iron gym is now our home gym and we visit most days for our daily training sessions. We love that everyone feels like family whether it be the owners, the trainers, or the other members. For myself Iron Gym has provided a safe space for me to truly grow as a lifter and not have to deal with so many of the shortcomings of the general or overall fitness community.

Me and my buddies came in on a Friday night. Atmosphere was electric, machines were nicely placed well organized and neat. The music was sick, pictures of Arnold and other greats were a nice touch. Felt like a bodybuilder in this gym oppose to the other kids gyms around the area.

Very well put together all the machines are brand new hammer strength plate loaded free weights are not an issue the owners are super friendly always trying to help out members even if they don’t need the help that’s huge.
