- Basketball training for players from middle school to professional level. Training is dedicated to improving on-court performance in shooting, dribbling, driving, defense, and IQ.
- Sports performance training for athletes looking to improve their in-game performance with more strength, power, speed, and conditioning so they can jump higher, run faster, move quicker, and play longer. Athlete levels from middle school to professional.

I have been training with Josh for one year. Retirement changes a lot of things and I was feeling tired and out of shape. I went all in on three classes a week and haven’t looked back. I would highly recommend his small group strength training classes. My granddaughter has also taken Josh’s basketball skills clinic. He’s great with the kids and she loves working with him!

I have always been intimidated by weight training and as a result I was very inconsistent or didn't go at all. I decided to try out a group training session with Josh Shurman and I have been going weekly ever since. He keeps us entertained during our sessions with his humor, love of music and movies, and by getting to know each of us, all while making sure we are using proper form and making gains. One week I almost skipped a session because I felt a kink in my neck, when I arrived he shared some stretches to try out in between sets and I left with a workout completed and my neck felt better. His weekly emails are very informative, he is very knowledgable and shares the information in a way that meets his clients where they are at.

I highly recommend Josh’s basketball classes and clinics, he turned around my son's disliking basketball due to previous bad experience with a coach. He has made such a progress in shooting and ball handling, and overall confidence on the court. Josh always takes the time to send personal updates to parents and further ways to improve. My son (11) now looks forward to every practice.

My son who is 9 looks forward to being with Josh for an hour every Tuesday for basketball clinic. I can’t stress enough how professional and amazing he is with the kids. Patrick’s favorite part are the drills and if they don’t get it, Josh doesn’t let them give up.
Josh always provides feedback after every session. He goes out of his way to personally check in. I can’t stress enough how lucky we are to be of his program.

I highly recommend Josh as a personal trainer. I’ve always been into fitness classes like yoga and spin, but never stuck with a weight training plan until starting in Josh’s semi-private classes in the weight room. I like the small group experience where I get just the right amount of personal attention. Josh ensures we are achieving our personal goals at our own pace and with proper form. He is very personable, so class is fun, never intimidating, with good conversation and supportive people.

My son, Matt had such a great experience working with Josh. I had heard from many friends what a great basketball coach Josh was, so I bought a package of private lessons ahead of Matt's season. Josh even created a workout in the Adirondack app to help improve Matt's strength and flexibility. Josh really studies technique, and it shows in his ability to teach others the necessary skills to improve their game. What a difference this has all made for Matt. I would highly recommend Josh!

I have done one on one training with Josh as well as his group training and love it !
I really wasn’t confident with working out on my own at the gym and I really wanted to learn the best workouts and how to achieve this as well as see results!!!So josh had some of our training secessions upstairs in the gym setting so could feel more confident etc and get some solid workouts in that I can do on my own.
Also the group classes are small and more personal so he can really focus on your workout needs !!! Highly recommend if u wanna feel stronger and more confident!

I have worked with Josh for over a year now. He is kind and knowledgeable and willing to tailor work-outs and stretches to help my injuries (and my injuries were helped! I had stopped improving with PT). I have learned a lot, and having Josh coach my form gives me confidence I won’t re-injure myself. I have become noticeably stronger. I have arthritis in my spine and neck. He has been very open working with recommendations made by my doctor and my physical therapist. When I have flare-ups the stretches he has recommended to use at home have been immensely helpful in controlling the pain. I am 74 and started with Josh to increase my strength. Josh has been my personal trainer since February of 2023. I can't say enough positive words about working with Josh. He is very personable and makes working out fun and engaging.

I've done both individual and group personal training sessions with Josh. He builds sessions that are challenging and pushes you to improve over time. His eye for form makes sure you are doing the exercise the right way so you get the most out of the work out.

Josh also does well with pre-teens. My oldest son, now 13, went to Josh for Summer Conditioning training. He enjoyed going to the sessions and always looked forward to the next one.

I look forward to continue working with Josh on my fitness journey.

I started attending a group work out session weekly with Josh last March. I highly recommend him no matter where you are in your fitness journey. I started at age 59 with no experience working with weights. Josh is very patient and encouraging. He modifies exercises to meet your abilities and takes into account any current aches and pains you may have. I have seen an improvement in my level of strength and stamina even with only being able to attend once a week. I am hoping that the rest of my family will join work our groups with Josh since I see what a difference it makes.

I've been training with Josh for over a year now! First with personal training and now with group training at the Adirondack club. My first goal was to get comfortable in the weight room which I found intimidating and to build a regular strength training habit. Mission accomplished in just a few months! Josh customizes my workouts and gives advice on nutrition, sleep, and daily routines based on my specific needs and changing goals (e.g. lose holiday weight, build muscle, etc.). I feel stronger now in my 40s (as a busy working mom!) than I did in my 20s. I can confidently strength train on my own and I also continue the group training with Josh for the accountability, his ongoing advice, and for the social aspect (it's fun!). If you're looking for someone to support your fitness goals (at any level), challenge you in a judgement free way, AND also have fun and look forward to your workouts, then I highly recommend Josh.

I highly recommend Joshua Shuman as a trainer to develop a program to improve a physical issue. I am in my mid 60’s and have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in my neck which is somewhat painful, and I find that my neutral neck position is not what it used to be. Joshua listened to my description of my situation and developed an exercise plan to strengthen my neck and upper back muscles. As a result, my neck flexibility is much improved with minimal pain and my neck posture is back to normal. Joshua is very knowledgeable trainer and working with Joshua is very enjoyable, fun and an excellent experience.
