Make sure you get any cancelations or account changes in writing!

I ended my membership by talking to an employee at the front desk, within their trail period, but they claim they have no record whatsoever of the cancelation and refuse a refund! I'm also being charged full membership for the next month!

I’ve been with Lifetime since 2002 and have trained in locations all over the country. After a month and a half at the new Prudential Center club, I can say without hesitation: this one earns a spot in my top three.

The variety of equipment is top-tier—plenty of options for strength, cardio, conditioning, recovery, and everything in between. Lifetime clearly invested in the details here. Upgraded finishes, cork flooring in the lifting areas, and thoughtful touches like Kiehl’s products in the locker rooms give the entire place a premium, polished feel. It’s a noticeable step up.

The staff has been consistently friendly, attentive, and welcoming from day one, which makes a huge difference in a busy urban location.

One of the unexpected perks is how easy it is to squeeze in a little work before or after your workout. There’s plenty of seating throughout where you can plug in, focus, and get a few things done. They even added a couple of isolation cubes that are perfect for private calls or quick video meetings—something I wish more gyms would offer.

The layout does have a few quirks—several areas require stepping up or down, and the walk to the showers and locker room takes you through almost the entire gym. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s something first-timers will notice.

Still, the pros absolutely outweigh the quirks. This is a beautifully designed club with high-end amenities, a strong equipment mix, great workspace options, and a fantastic team running it. If you’re in Boston and looking for a full-service fitness experience, this one is worth every bit of the hype.

Amazing gym with great amenities, equipment, and classes! The front desk is always friendly and welcoming. The instructors are fantastic—constantly motivating and challenging you to do your best with fun, high-energy workouts that make time fly. Huge shoutout to Angelle and Paige for their incredible Strength classes that keep me coming back every week. The bathroom attendants also go above and beyond to keep the women’s locker room spotless—thank you to Maria and Mercedes for always brightening my day!

Would’ve been 5 stars were it not for a deal breaker for me. The men’s locker room has this big device on the wall that literally pumps out this horrible artificial floral stink. Instantly gave me a splitting headache. Even more comedy, it permeated my clothes such that when I met friends for dinner they literally told me I stank like a cheap perfume counter. Almost worse than having your clothes stink like cigarettes. My advice? Rip that thing off the wall and seriously consider why you want to have someone in your org that thought this was a good idea. I’ll happily come back for real when you do. The facility itself is absolutely amazing.

I joined lifetime Fitness 20 years ago. I started as a member in Novi Michigan, then I moved to Dublin Ohio then to Chicago . I have enjoyed all of the clubs in those areas but I have never written a review before. The new location in Boston is the best of the best. It's a whole different feeling, like you're at a luxury resort. The management and the staff are awesome. It's nice to go to a gym where the staff is genuinely, happy to see you and help you with anything you need. Thanks for that.

⚠️ For travelers: this facility requires a 300 dollar initiation fee, on top of needing a membership of the same cost or more. And I was kind of shocked that their membership was higher than what I was paying in Brooklyn.

Otherwise, solid location. Cold/hot therapy area is pretty unique, especially for athletes.

Place is great. Looking forward to having it for a winter escape when there isn’t much else to do around Boston. Quality is another level vs equinox. Only complaint is I wish we got parking for 2.5 hours vs 2 hours.

Recently switched to this location, and it offers a great option for post-work workouts if your office is in the area. New and clean equipments for every workout you need, tons of squat racks(big fan of the thick weights here actually huge confidence boost), and they have the separate room by the window where you can use squat racks even if there’s a class going on unlike many other locations. Nice stretching area with a soft mat and multiple beds, also a good recovery area with the newest hydro massage. The classes covers a wide variety too. Of course due to the limited space in the city center, they don’t have pickleball, basketball, swimming pools etc like the suburb locations. Haven’t tried the sauna or cold plunge yet, I can see the mixed gender space is going to be a bit awkward. Personally speaking, what they offer is still worth it if you’re already a lifetime member and are just trying to have an alternative place to workout post work. One big plus is they have the kiehl’s products in the shower.

Amateur bodybuilder here. Has exactly what I need and more. 15 squat racks!! 4 flat bench presses. Multiple variations of all the standard machines (leg extensions, leg curls, preacher, lat pull downs, chest presses, pec fly/rear delts machines, leg presses, etc). Many, many cable flies. Near optimal mirror placements to check form at different angles for different exercise locations while, for instance, deadlifting. Ample space here — it’s huge. Great amenities like the steam room, sauna, hot tub and cold plunge for recovery. Bathrooms kept clean. Ample space for co working areas, for now. You could honestly spend like an entire day here working out, doing recovery, getting some lunch within the mall itself, and then getting some work/studying done. I’m impressed. Maybe there’s small QOL changes that could happen (like permanent lockers to rent), but these are smaller details. Management seems receptive to changes. It just opened up and so I’d think they can’t address everything at once. Thus, unless you’re super picky about specific things and cannot adapt, it works, even for more serious lifters/bodybuilders/powerlifters. Definitely an amicable competitor for the nearby Equinoxes too, though both offer their specific things. Works for me!!

Also to address the co-ed steam room sauna comment below — it keeps things in check. Have you ever been to a male-only locker room? The windows into the steam room and sauna are huge. No funny business. And the workers come in often for maintenance anyways (like re-stocking towels). If someone makes you uncomfortable, complain. Else, it’s really not the gyms problem, that’s a you and a self conscious problem. Which is fine and something you can work on, but the world doesn’t need to adapt to you and all your needs, let’s be real here. It’s a gym, stand up for yourself. For now all I can say, it’s providing a good service to the city and society in which it falls.

Next, the machines all together in the large room does sort of feel like a maze, but in a good way. There’s so many options and variations to keep things spicy. I’ve been lifting for 15 years. I pick up weights. I put them down. Can get boring. There’s so many machines packed here, it keeps it interesting. Eventually you’ll memorize where things are and can keep an out for what you need. If a specific machine is taken, guess what? There’s another variation. Don’t need to be dogmatic about using certain ones; you’re not an Olympic athlete here, I guarantee that. And if you are, it’s a catch-22; you’re good at being precise, consistent, and you’d already know how to adapt in real time for what your workout space offers. Anyways, all these machines is like a kid in a candy store. Lots of variations, even if not top-of-the line machine out there for a very specific variation, I’m super content.

I had high expectations for this club, but it seems like the designers missed a few things. A vanilla-like scent is pumped into the air that is quite strong. From someone who suffers from migraines, this scent was triggering and there was nothing I could do but take medication for it. There are so many machines jam packed that there is actually no space to move around (Think walking lunges or suitcase carries)... and the stretch mat is tiny (and not soft) for a club this size. Most of these spaces to move are for people walking in and out of the club to get to the other areas. It's impossible to superset many exercises as the club is divided up with stairs, etc. The lockers are beautiful, but the combined male/female steam, sauna, cold plunges, etc are awkward and socially uncomfortable...It seems like they ran out of space in this club and prioritized the windows for studios, instead of having daylight for the club. The equipment is top notch and they have everything you could want and more, I just wish I had better/more space to use it. Sometimes, less is more.
